TNA Impact 8/7/2025
Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/08/tna-impact-7312025.html
We are in Kingston, RI.
Trick Williams comes out to talk. Trick asks if they hear the sound of him breaking records in Trick-N-A. He says KC Navarro cost him a match but says we will take care of that later. He said Santino made it official that he will face Moose's forehead. He says Moose has the biggest forehead he ever seen. He says he will beat that bald head into oblivion. Trick says ask Mike Santana if you don't believe him, but he will beat a man down in his hometown.
He says at Emergence, he will be searching for Moose's bobble-headed mama, uncle and granny. He says he will take out the whole bobble-headed section and smack the hell out of them like it's Groundhog Day.
Moose comes out. Trick asks if he offended him when he called him bobblehead. Moose hits him with the mic. Moose charges at him and Trick slides out. Trick walks up the ramp and leaves.
Gia Miller is interviewed. She thanks Gabby for interviewing her. She says Slammiversary rattled her but she took her time to rest and recover and is feeling better now. She says we all have put up with Tessa Blanchard's BS long enough. She says if Tessa touches her one more time, she will f*cking kill her.
Gia interviews Joe Hendry. He says Mustafa Ali hides behind his secret service. He says the entire world believes in Joe Hendry and Ali will believe in Joe Hendry by the end of the night.
Steve Maclin does a promo from a soccer game. He has a black eye and messes around with the mascot and poses with the players. He says it's tag 'em, bag 'em and mayhem for all.
Mike Santana talks to Sami Callihan. He says he will shift his focus from Trick and give him what he wants. The Northern Armory come out. Eric says maybe it's time for Sami to talk out in the sunset. Eric tells Mike he was running this place while Mike was in high school. He says this place needs a clense and Mike's time is coming faster than he thinks. Eric says he failed his adopted family and his real family. They go to fight and Sami breaks it up. Eric says to watch yourself.
Frankie Kazarian came out to do commentary and said Carlos Silva agreed he should be out here.
TNA International Title - Steve Maclin (c) vs Jake Something
Jake side headlocks him then shoulders him over several times. SM thesz presses him and hits mounted punches. SM hits a corner lariat. Jake bodyblocks him. Jake hits a corner spear for 2. SM hits an olympic slam.
SM corner lariats him from behind. They double clothesline each other. They trade forearms. Jake is back body dropped over the top. SM then topes him. SM is sent into the steps.
They trade shots on the apron, both fall off and get counted out.
Thoughts: It was short and the finish was so stupid and corny. These two were right on the apron and neither even thought to get in. It's a shame too since what we got of this looked promising.
They fight more and security intervenes. SM ends up doing a dive on Jake and all of security.
Mance Warner and Steph de Lander are looking for Santino in his office. He's not in there. Steph grabs Mance and they imply that they are going to fool around in there.
Cedric Alexander does a video. He said when he dedicated his life to pro wrestling, he watched people like AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels. He said he wrote on Myspace that the X-Division was his birthright. He said Leon Slater's not as good as he could be yet while Ced says he's in his prime.
George Iceman talks before the match. He says he had a speech written out but this place sucks and they don't deserve it.
Xia Brookside and Lei Ying Lee vs The Elegance Brand (M and Heather By Elegance)
The heels miss attacks to start and take stereo dropkicks. Lee side headlocks M. M is legswept then Xia jumps off of Lee's back with an elbow drop on M. Lee hits mounted corner punches on M then she exploders her.
M is lariated over the top to the floor. Lee suplexes M for 2. HBE pulls Lee's arm into the rope connector then the post in the corner. HBE top rope double stomps Lee's arm. She then pulls her arms back. HBE whips Lee's arm into the mat then ties up both of her arms. HBE stomps the arm and pulls both arms back.
Lee rolls her up for 2. HBE lariats her for 2. Lee is tripped into the buckles. Lee then takes dropkicks in the corner. Lee hits boots out of the corner then evades the heels to tag out.
Xia gets in and lariats the heels. She neckbreakers one, causing the other to ddt her partner. Xia hits corner meteora's then russian legsweeps her. M takes a double team, kicks to the chest and a Lee senton. HBE backcrackers Lee and M rolls up Lee for 2. Lee spinning high kicks M then does a spinning torture rack drop on her to win.
Thoughts: Lee got her arms worked on here for half of this but it didn't lead to much. It wasn't anything great but didn't have any big blunders or anything. It was average. They suggested that Xia and Lei were now contenders for a tag title shot.
TNA Injury Report
KC Navarro is still out with a dislocated knee. The Home Town Man is out with bruised ribs. Joe Hendry and Mustafa Ali are cleared.
Santino Marella talks to Arianna Grace. They go into a locker room and Santino says he's sorry she had to see that. He says it's not National Geographic, it's TNA Wrestling.
The Elegance Brand talk in the back. Ash yells at M and Heather for dropping the ball on her night. She says she needs to focus on Jacy Jayne instead and tells them to get out. She then yells at them when they don't go. George then tells them to get out and Ash tells him to get out too.
The First Class Penthouse
This is an emergency edition. KC Navarro is on crutches and has his knee in a brace. He's not in a good mood. AJ says KC has bad news to share. KC says they almost won the tag titles at Slammiversary. He said he re-aggravated his knee and was told he tore his ACL and will have to get surgery.
AJ says just like in the NFL, when someone tears their ACL we have to live by a motto - next man up. AJ then brings Rich Swann back, who was an original member that was fired from TNA for a DUI (IIRC).
Rich Swann comes out. AJ tells KC to hold the mic for him. Rich is asked who it feels to be back in First Class. He says it feels so good to help and aid him into making this place T-N-AJ Francis. He says they will get back to what they did before. AJ says they decided there's only one more thing they have to do. AJ then says KC's services are no longer needed. He says Rich is replacing him. He says KC was always a substitue and a back-up.
KC says he busted his @ss for 10 years and earned his spot here. KC says he took hits for AJ and protected him from Mike Santana. He said he died on the sword for him every single time. He said his doctors told him not to wrestle at Slammiversary but he risked his carer for AJ.
AJ says he remembers it differently. He said he carried his body through the curtain and said it wasn't the first time he had to carry him. He says he's been carrying 165lbs of dead weight around for 9 months now. He said they were champs before KC showed up. He said KC even blew the a title match AJ and Rich earned. AJ talks about his losses and injuries.
He said KC cost Trick Williams the match last week and says he loses always because he's a loser. AJ Says since he proved he can't use a crutch, AJ says let me show you. AJ and Rich then trip KC. AJ says he's happy KC tore his ACL. He says get off his stage before he throws him off his stage. AJ yells at him to get up. He says KC never deserved to be here. AJ then says that was a new edition of The First Class Penthouse.
Thoughts: Whoa. That was a brutal smackdown of KC that even got me mad. I'm really surprised to see Rich Swann back and am surprised he even wants to be back after they fired him. KC is definitely going to come back a face but it's a shame because him and AJ were good together.
Mara Sade vs Vicious Vicki
They lock up. Mara wristlocks her and VV does it back. Mara flips out using the ropes and armdrags her. Mara uses the ropes and springboard corkscrew armdrags her. Mara hits knees to the gut in the corner. VV hits shots then Mara hits some.
Mara olympic slams her then does a cartwheel elbow drop. Mara hits a double underhook codebreaker and wins.
Thoughts: It was a quick squash. Mara didn't look that great here with her stirkes not looking that good.
We see the Joe Hendry segment from NXT this week with Joe Hendry appearing. We also see Moose's segment.
TNA Knockouts Title - Jacy Jayne (c) vs Ash By Elegance
George Iceman interrupts McKenzie and does his own intro for Ash.
They lock up. Jacy armdrags her. Ash then armdrags her off the lock-up as well. They keep the lock up on and Jacy shoves her off the break. Ash shoves her back. Ash backrolls her and Jacy rolls her up. Jacy legsweps her.
Ash shoulders her over. Masha Slamovich then runs in and nails Ash. Masha goes after Jacy and is pump kicked. Jacy pounds on her. The rest of Fatal Influence beat up Masha. The Elegance Brand then comes out to help. Xia Brookside and Lei Ying Lee then join the fight. The Iinspiration then jump in. The heels are eventually all sent out.
Thoughts: I didn't like this. This is like the 2nd week in a row where a title match gets cut short, totally devaluing it.
The Hardy Boyz do a promo. Matt says it feels good to be TNA tag champs again. He says Santino will tell them who they face at Emergence. Matt says he's not concerned as their competence is at an all-time high. He says they cemented their legacy as the tag team goats. Matt says their job is to make TNA as great as it can be and grow pro wrestling. Jeff says they are defending history and building something bigger than themselves - a tag team legacy that's immortalized.
Santino comes out and makes some matches for Emergence. It'll be:
TNA International Title - No DQ/No Countouts - Steve Maclin vs Jake Something
Mike Santana vs Sami Callihan
TNA Knockouts Tag Titles - Fatal Influence vs The Elegance Brand vs The Iinspiration vs Brookside/Lee
Santino then brings out The Nemeth Brothers. He says they aren't facing The Hardy's at Emergence. Nic accuses Santino of being jealous of him. He says he's the draw around here and says they have an iron clad contract that says they will get a rematch. Santino says they are suspended for attacking 2 TNA employees last week including The Home Town Man. Santino says The Hardy's will face The Rascalz. Ryan Nemeth threatens to sue Santino. Ryan says they deserve to be at Emergence. He says one of them will be - it'll be Ryan Nemeth vs The Home Town Man. Ryan says he can't do that and Santino says he just did.
Joe Hendry vs Mustafa Ali
They shove each other off the lock-up. Joe wristlocks him. Ali flips out using the ropes. Joe rolls and headflips out of a wristlock them throws him by the arm. Joe fireman's carry takeovers him. Ali headflips and wristlocks him. Joe then rolls out.
Ali legsweeps him and goes for a pin then Joe does the same. Ali tries to do Joe's pose, Jake takes him over and they stand off. Joe hiptosses Ali then suplexes him for 2. Ali hits forearms and chops. Joe spining lariats him. Ali goes out to stall.
Ali gets back in then goes to stall. Joe chops him outside then bangs his head off the apron. Joe back body drops him on the floor. Joe is distracted by Hotch and Skyler outside then Ali topes Joe. Ali chinlocks Joe.
Joe hits euros then Ali spinning neckbreakers him for 2. Ali jumping neckbreakers him for 2. Ali misses a standing corkscrew moonsault. Joe blocks Ali's 2nd rope tornado ddt then suplexes him off of it.
Joe hits punches and lariats Ali. Joe fallaway slams him. Ali sends Hotch and Skyler into Joe outside and Joe lariats him. Inside the ring, Joe hits an olympic slam for 2.
Ali's guards get on the apron and are slingshotted in. Joe then double lariats them over the top. Ali accidentally dropkicks one of his guards in the corner. Ali rolls in and is caught with a cutter. Joe then hits his standing ovation for 2 when Tasha Steelz pulls the ref out.
Hotch and Skyler then do a samoan drop + 2nd rope flipping neckbreaker on Joe. Ali misses a top rope 450. Ali is sent into the buckles face first. Joe lariats Hotch. Joe pop-up powerbombs Ali then hits an AA on him but the ref is out. Another ref comes down and counts 2.
Tasha grabs Joe's leg. Joe is sent out and Agent Zero facekicks Joe. Ali top rope 450's Joe and wins.
Thoughts: The work wasn't bad but this was filled with shenanigans to the point that it was half the match. It literally look Ali about 7 people to get the pin here. Joe has now lost for the 6th time since May as the promotion seems determined to get him under.
Overall thoughts: It was your usual TNA show. It made sense but nothing was that great because they tape multiple shows in one night, they have 3rd rate talent and their PPV's are too close together. The highlight of this show was KC Navarro getting kicked out of First Class in a rather nasty way which will start his face turn. Rich Swann returned. We got some matches set up for Emergence. Joe Hendry lost yet again and the Jacy/Ash title match was absolutely nothing. I'd give it a 5 out of 10 and wouldn't recommend it.

Ms. Sade might be green as money (I attribute that to her adapting to TNA's style of wrestling as well as the fact she's worked as mostly a tag team wrestler up to this point), but I think she'll get a lot better in time.
ReplyDeleteI've seen her do some decent stuff and step up when it was needed so it's possible.
