Next week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/08/wwe-evolve-8202025.html

Brooks Jensen vs Tate Wilder

BJ side headlocks him then shoulders him over. BJ side headlocks him again then Tate reverses it. They shoulder battle and Tate flying shoulders him. Tate dropkicks him out of the ring. Tate asai moonsaults him outside. Tate slingshot sunset flips him for 2. BJ backdrops him for 2.

BJ forearms him over then elbows him in the mouth. BJ clubs on Tate and elbows him in the face. Tate cradles him then is backdropped for 2. BJ side headlocks him again.

BJ is rammed into the buckles and Tate hits punches. Tate back elbows him then lariats him. Tate backdrops him. Tate misses a double jump moonsault but backrolls out. BJ lariats him then hits another lariat for the win.

Thoughts: Eh it was about average. Tate can fly but needs to work on hitting better strikes. Brooks is kind of average in the ring. I didn't have high expectations for this and it met them.

Jordan Oasis comes out and beats up Brooks after since Brooks turned on him a few weeks ago.

Wendy Choo is watching old footage in the back and laughing.

Jack Cartwheel and Cappuccino Jones are working out. Jack says they need to turn the double shot into a triple shot. Two new guys we haven't seen before making loud sounds lifting weights. They are "The Space Cowboy" Jax Presley and "Gnarly" Harley Riggins". Harley asks if they saw that and said maybe someday they can lift as much as them. Jax says they are getting a lift so they can look extra shredded as they need to stay ready for their debut.

Jack says all we need is more muscleheads. Harley says they are getting too comfortable and Jax asks if they can handle D1 studs. Jones says they should see them in the ring and see if they really belong.

We see clips from earlier in the day of The Vanity Project hanging out. Drake yells at Bryce for losing last week and said he got his @ss handed to him. Bryce asks if he wants to say that again. Drake says Keanu got one step closer to the Evolve championship thanks to him. He asks if he wants Keanu to get the title. Drake says he doesn't. He says he should have taken out Keanu and he didn't. They say they always bounce back. Bryce says he got them matches and Vanity Project isn't thrilled. He said they wanted to surprise him last week and he returned the favor. Drake says they will do better than he did.

Dante Chen vs Edris Enofe

This is a rematch from 7/23. Edris takes off the turnbuckle as he enters for some reason. The match starts without the top buckle. Chen hits punches on Enofe. Enofe trips him and the ref sees that the buckle is off. Chen rolls up Enofe but the ref is late for the count.

Chen running lariats and kind of does a uranage to Enofe. Chen is sent into the exposed buckle. Enofe then splashes the exposed buckle. Chen pump kicks him out of the ring.

Enofe cradles him then Chen lifts him for a suplex out of it. Chen hits a la rosa driver variation for 2. Enofe clips him then knees him in the face. Chen jawbreakers him and chops him on the apron. Chen is swept on the apron then sent into the steps.

Enofe top rope elbow drops Chen for 2. Chen hits a big slap. Enofe hits some kamigoye's. Enofe is stuck on the 2nd rope and Chen superplexes him for 2. They trade shots. Enofe boots him in the gut. Chen then does a twisting powerbomb to him. Chen is rolled up off a double chop attempt. Enofe grabs the tights and the ref sees it. Chen rolls him up for 2 and hits the gentle touch double chop to win.

Thoughts
: I was surprised Chen won here. It was fine for what it was but nothing too great. It got enough time to play out. I have to assume there's going to be a rubber match.

Ridge Holland tells Tate Wilder it's two straight losses for the cowboy. Ridge says it's too bad there wasn't a superstar who was much wiser telling him to get out. Tate says it wasn't two losses but two lessons. He says he's not afraid to jump off the cliff, land on his face and keep going. Ridge says he will get used to failing as that's all he will ever do. Tate challenges him to get in the ring with him. Ridge says he's focused on bigger things like Sean Legacy next week. He says he will have a chat with Sean after he's done with him and maybe Tate will stop bothering him with his silly requests.

Stevie Turner talks to Kylie Rae in her office. Rae says Chantel Monroe keeps cutting her down and she's sick of it. She says she learned it's okay to stand up for yourself after dealing with Choo. Stevie says she can fight Monroe next week and it'll be a title eliminator.

Jordan Oasis comes in. Stevie asks what happened to him. Jordan says Brooks went against his word. Stevie says he can't keep interfering in matches. Brooks says he can find him if he wants to settle it. Stevie tells him to take a week to cool off and she will settle it.

Layla Diggs vs Zayda Steel

LD has Masyn Holiday with her. They dance together in the ring. Bryce Donovan is with Zayda.

Zay throws her down by the hair. LD snapmares her and dances. LD wristlocks her. Bryce grabs LD's foot. LD side headlock takeovers Zay. Zay armdrags and side headlocks her.

LD headscissors her and side headlocks her. Zay drops down and LD does a nice flip over her. LD then hits a running headhunter for 2. Bryce gets on the apron. Zay sweeps LD then stomps her in the corner. Zay stomps LD's leg on the ropes.

Zay single leg crabs her. LD boots her away. LD shoulders her over then jumping side kicks her. LD forward cartwheel spears her in the corner. LD double underhook suplexes her for 2. Bryce gets on the apron and puts a chair in the corner. The ref ejects Bryce.

Zay gets distracted. LD boots her then sitout gordbusters her for the win.

Thoughts: It wasn't bad. Diggs looked good and her execution was fine here for a change. Zay was mostly along for the ride but didn't botch anything. Bryce got involved multiple times here and that will likely further his issues with The Vanity Project.

Diggs and Holiday after. Jamar Hampton asks why It's GAL came to watch his match. Gal says it wasn't him and Jamar says there's not a lot of folks who look like him. Gal says it must have been CGI or AI. Jamar says it's cool if he wants to keep lying and says he needs to hit the gym. Gal says he's got a good chest workout for him and he wants to show him how it's done. Jamar asks if he's asking him to train together and Gal says to follow him.

We see a taped interview with Chuey Martinez and Sean Legacy. Sean says he's disappointed about the match with Keanu Carver. He said he failed but will look at it as a learning lesson. He says Keanu is going for The Vanity Project and his eyes will be on the prize after that. Chuey then shows us clips from last month of Ice Williams talking trash about Sean at an indy show. He says something about being the best WWE ID prospect.

Sean says when you chase your goal, you make enemies. He says he respects Ice but he's looking towards the future and Ridge Holland. He says both him and Ridge have their eyes on the Evolve Title. He says beating Ridge should get him back in the picture.

Ridge Holland vs Sean Legacy is next week as is Monroe/Rae in an eliminator.

WWE Evolve Women's Title Eliminator - Karmen Petrovic vs Tyra Mae Steele

Tyra lifts her and is sunset flipped. Tyra release germans her and really throws her. Tyra stalls as KP may be hurt and we go to break. We return and KP hits shots to the gut. Tyra double leg slams her down. Tyra suplexes her twice for 2.

KP hits up kicks. Tyra ties her legs up and does a bow and arrow. KP lifts herself up and takes karelin's lift. Tyra misses a corner charge. KP hits forearms and chops. Tyra knees her in the gut. KP kicks her off the buckles then hits flying forearms. KP hits slingblades. KP tries a kick off the tup and over and is pulled down.

KP rolls her into a double stomp and hits a low corkscrew kick to win.

Thoughts: It was fine. KP took some big suplexes that I don't think she was quite ready for. Tyra got over a bit here and looked a little better than she had in other outings.

Kali Armstrong comes out and claps for KP then the show ends.

Overall thoughts: It was an okay edition of Evolve. I feel like they are getting a bit more comfortable with this show by the week and are getting closer and closer to putting it together. It felt similar to an NXT 2013 show. Brooks/Tate was about average. There was nothing wrong with Chen/Enofe. Layla did a good job against Zayda and pulled her into an okay match and the main was fine. I'd give it a 6 out of 10 overall as it was alright and a bit better than average.
