New Japan Pro Wrestling 8/2/2025 G1 Climax 35 Day 10

Oleg Boltin & Toru Yano vs. United Empire (Callum Newman & Jakob Austin Young)

CN and Oleg go at it. CN leg kicks him. Oleg waistlocks him and is kicked. CN running facekicks him. CN knees Oleg in the face then Oleg shoulders him over. Oleg goes for karelin's lift and Jake stops it. CN takes kicks from his opponents then CN PK's him for 2.

Oleg double suplexes both opponents. Yano comes in and takes off a turnbuckle pad. He smakc Jake in the back of the head. Jake then goes into the exposed buckles. Jake single leg dropkicks Yano. Yano takes a high kick then Jake sliding kicks him for 2. CN corkscrew kicks Oleg. Yano grabs the ref, low blows Jake and pins him.

Thoughts: It was short and not much of note. Everyone got their one section and that was it. It was a waste of time.

Oleg and CN butt heads after. They then end up fighting.

Masatora Yasuda & Taichi vs. TMDK (Hartley Jackson & Ryohei Oiwa)

Oiwa and Tai go at it. Oiwa side headlocks him and they shoulder battle. Tai facekicks him then Oiwa shoulders him over. Tai facekicks him and kicks him in the back. Masa hits forearms on Oiwa. Masa back elbows him then Oiwa hiptosses him. Oiwa sentons him. Masa hits forearms on Hart. Hart then suplexes him. Hart splashes him for 2.

Masa knees Oiwa in the gut and flying headscissors him. Masa then dropkicks him. Tai hits Kawada kicks on Oiwa then side kicks him. Tai then facekicks Hart over. Oiwa ddt's Tai.Tai facekicks Oiwa and urakens him. Oiwa forearms him then they lariat each other. Oiwa suplexes him then Tai lariats him.

Hart crossbodies Masa. Masa tries dropkicks on Hart. Hart euros and forearms Masa. He then splashes him. Hart lariats him for 2. Masa hits forearms then dropkicks him.  Hart takes a double suplex then Tai drops Masa onto Hart for 2.

Hart lariats and sentons Masa for 2. Hart then sentons him and wins.

Thoughts: It was what you would expect with Masatoru being pinned. The action was okay but it was too short to be anything of note and too low on the card.

Shoma Kato & Yuya Uemura vs. House Of Torture (SANADA & Yoshinobu Kanemaru)

San had a Zorro type of mask on today during his entrance. San waistlocks Yuya and they break on the ropes. San wristlocks him and Yuya rolls out. Yuya then wristlocks him.

YK trips Yuya from the outside. Yuya is then sent into the rails. Sand walks Yuya towards Milano Collection AT outside and follows him around the seats. San hits Yuya with a soda. Yuya is sent into the seats. Yuya avoids being counted out and takes a magic screw. San is armdragged off a skull end attempt. San misses a top rope moonsault then Yuya spinning armdrags him.

Yuya then dropkicks him. Kato shoulders YK over when they get in. YK boots him out of the corner and Kato dropkicks him for 2. YK takes a double backdrop for 2. YK suplexes Kato for 2. YK slams him then is cradled for 2. YK blocks a dropkick and crabs Kato. Kato then submits him.

Thoughts: It was rather unnotable and Kato took the loss as expected here. Kato showed some fire and Yuya hit an interesting spinning armdrag that you don't see a lot. The HoT didn't cheat too much at least. 

Hiroshi Tanahashi & Katsuya Murashima vs. Daiki Nagai & Yota Tsuji

Tana wristlocks Yota. Yota goes for the hammerlock but is side headlocked. Yota side headlocks him. They break in the corner and Tana punches him in the gut. Tana 2nd rope twisting crossbodies him. Yota takes a double shoulderblock.

KM then sentons Nagai. Tana dropkicks Yota in the knee. KM then hits forearms on Yota. KM hiptosses Yota for 2. Yota legsweeps him and baseball slides him. Nagai gets in and hits forearms on KM. He then dropkicks him.

Nagai chops him in the corner. Nagai corner dropkicks him for 2. KM forearms him then Nagai spinebusters him for 2. KM shoulders Nagai over. KM powerslams Nagai. Tana dragon screws Yota then he cloverleafs him while KM crabs Nagai. Nagai then taps out.

Thoughts: It was similar to the other matches with rookies here. Yota got little in on this one. It was just more pointless filler for the most part.

House Of Torture (Dick Togo & EVIL) vs. BULLET CLUB War Dogs (David Finlay & Gedo)

DF and Gedo run in and the fight started. DF bites Evil outside and bangs is head off the buckles. They eye rake each other in the crowd. DF knocks him over with a forearm and chokes him on the seats.

Fale hits Df in the gut outside. Togo then armlocks Gedo in the ring. Evil double axe handles Gedo's arm. Evil then throws DF out. Gedo hits Togo in the gut and Togo eye rakes him. Togo hits punches and Gedo eye pokes him. Gedo then hits punches. Togo eye pokes him then misses a fist drop. Gedo then fist drops him.

Evil misses a corner lariat then DF hits corner lariats on him. DF release suplexes Evil. Evil eye rakes him and DF is sent into the exposed buckle. Gedo is sent into it as well then Gedo takes a magic killer for 2 when Evil pulls him up. Evil sharpshooters Gedo and then submits him.

Thoughts: The only question here was whether Gedo or Togo were taking the loss. HoT didn't cheat too much here at least but it was all brawling and not that great.

The heels beat up Gedo after then run when DF gets in. 

G1 Climax 2025 Block B Match - YOSHI-HASHI vs. Shota Umino

They lock up. Shota shoulders him over then dropkicks him. Shota hits euros then is sent into the rails outside. Yoshi suplexes Shota on the floor.

Shota is laid on the top rope and Yoshi dropkicks him as he hangs for 2. Yoshi chops him. Shota dropkicks him in the knee. Shota hits forearms and chops in the corner.

Shota running euros him then fisherman suplexes him for 2. Yoshi dropkicks him in the knee. Yoshi hits a corner lariat and chops him. Shota tornado ddt's him. Shota running knees him in the back of the head. Shota then hits a stiff powerbomb for 2. Shota STF's him.  

They clothesline each other then Yoshi knocks him over with one. Yoshi hits a canadian destroyer for 2. Shota half-nelson suplexes him then Yoshi dragon suplexes him. Shota lariats him.

Shota hits a knee for 2. Shota goes for a slam and is reverse ddt'd. They trade forearms. Yoshi chops him. Shota hits forearms and enzugiri's him. Yoshi then flips him with a lariat. Yoshi brainbusters him for 2. Shota cradles him for 2. Yoshi superkicks him. Shota hits a hard lariat. Shota then northern lights bombs him and wins.

Thoughts: It was pretty straight and to the point here. It was fast and there was lots of action. There wasn't a ton of selling but the danger level also wasn't that big for this one. It was a fun match but they didn't try for or get the time for anything too great here.

G1 Climax 2025 Block B Match - Shingo Takagi vs. El Phantasmo

Shingo tries to get a "TKG" going to compare with ELP's "ELP" chant. Shingo hits him from behind as he does the chant. Shingo shoulders him over. ELP boots him in the gut then Shingo ducks a superkick. ELP flying headscissors him. ELP then plancha's him outside.

Shingo is sent into the rails and facekicked. ELP superkicks him outside. ELP then top rope moonsaults him outside. ELP springboard swantons him then top rope moonsaults him for 2. Shingo back body drops him. They trade forearms and laugh at each other's forearms. ELP 2nd rope asai moonsaults him. ELP goes for a dive and is forearmed.

ELP superkicks him on the apron then Shingo death valley drivers him on the apron. Shingo corner lariats him then top rope superplexes him. Shingo then holds on and twisting neckbreakers him for 2. They trade strikes and ELP step up enzugiri's him. Shingo no sells it and sliding lariats him.

ELP hits a UFO. ELP hits lariats. Shingo lariats him from behind then sliding lariats him from behind. Shingo then hits a made in japan for 2. Shingo lariats him then hits a forearm combo. ELP poisonrana's him. ELP then running lariats him.

ELP hits a CR2 for 2. ELP hits slaps. Shingo hits strikes and ELP superkicks him for 2. ELP tries a top rope splash and Shingo gets his knees up. Shingo sliding forearms him in the back of the head.

Shingo powerbombs him for 2. ELP rolls him and is hurricanrana'd. Shingo lariats him. Shingo basically hits a ganso bomb for 2. Shingo lariats him for 2. Shingo hits a last of the dragon and wins.

Thoughts: It was fast paced and everyone took some hard bumps. Nobody sold squat here and that ultimately brought this down. The release CR2/ganso bomb that Shingo hit looked nasty and was so close to ending poorly. The more this went on, the less I liked it and I was not a fan of this.

G1 Climax 2025 Block B Match - Konosuke Takeshita vs. Drilla Moloney

They butt heads and trade forearms. They shoulder battle and forearm each other at the same time. DM lariats him over the top. They fight outside. DM is sent into the rails then facekicked over them. KT then suplexes him into the seats.

KT ddt's him on the apron. KT cranks on DM's head then facelocks him. DM bites him. KT eye rakes him. KT forearms him down. KT hits forearms to the head and pumping knees him. KT hits knees in the face in the corner.

KT headbutts him after taking chops. DM dropkicks him. DM baseball slides him. DM misses a charge and gets sent into the buckles. KT exploders him then lariats him. DM brainbusters him.

DM misses a top rope elbow and lands hard for 2. KT armlocks him. DM hits elbows to the face. KT blue thunders him for 2. DM superkicks him and KT hits a ddt. DM spinebusters him. DM hits a top rope elbow drop for 2.

KT hits a package tombstone for 2. They trade forearms. KT bites the head. DM ducks lariats then runs into a knee. DM then hits a rebound lariat on KT for 2.

DM rolling spears him. KT hits a big forearm and then drops him with a second. KT knees him in the face. KT stops an over the shoulder piledriver and hits raging fire for the win.

Thoughts: It was similar to the Shingo match but with less flying. They kept the pace moving and hit many stiff shots on each other. Like the last match, the selling wasn't the strongest but they also didn't do too much that was crazy, so I'd say it was okay overall. 

G1 Climax 2025 Block B Match - Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Great-O-Khan 

Zack blocks a takedown and goes for the arm. Zack takes him down and they get back up. They mat wrestle more. Khan grabs the leg and Zack ropebreaks. Zack ties up both arms and hooks the legs then Khan ropebreaks.

Khan goes for him and Zack side steps. Khan does a nice pin attempt. Khan hits a nice german off the waistlock. Khan hits knees to the chest then Zack pele kicks the arm. They armbreaker each other and pump kick each other at the same time.

Khan abdominal stretches him and claws him at the same time. Zack then rolls him into an armbar. Khan ropebreaks. Khan hits a fireman's carry slam. Khan knees him in the gut then monkey flips him. Zack armthrows him. Khan does a nice backdrop. Khan hits chops. Zack euros him then Khan catches him in mid-air with a uranage. Khan then holds on for a head and arm submission. Khan uranage's him again into another head and arm hold.

Zack armbars him in mid-air and pulls him down with it. Khan then powerbombsh im down. Khan mongolian chops him. Khan then lets Zack hit euros on him. Zack boots his head around. Khan lariats him several times. Zack euros him then is punched in the gut.

Zack facekicks him then hits a tornado ddt. Zack then takes a chokeslam for 2. Zack PK's him and lariats him. Khan then hits a straight punch. Khan claws him. Zack hits a michinoku driver for 2. Zack then turns it into an armbar. Khan then taps out.

Thoughts: The first half of this was boring with them doing technical wrestling that went nowhere. The second half was a little better but I still didn't think it was great. Zack did his various holds but at least they were mostly focused on the arm. I thought it was average.

Zack talks in Japanese after.

Overall thoughts: I thought it was a below average night at the G-1. The undercard was nothing of note. Yoshi/Shota was the best match on here but it wasn't their best work and I somewhat liked KT vs Drilla. I didn't really care for the main and ELP/Shingo was the indy style match I expected. I'd give it a 4 out of 10 and didn't think it was that good.
