WWF Superstars of Wrestling 9/19/1992

We are in Hershey, PA. Mr. Perfect and Vince McMahon are our hosts.

Bret Hart vs Glen Ruth

Bret side headlocks him then hiptosses him. Bret stomps him in the corner. Papa Shango does an inset promo. He says the curse worked and says it cost him the IC Title at Summerslam. He says there's more in store for him and we see a fire coming out of his book.

Bret snap suplexes and legdrops Glen. Bret euros him. Bret hits a 2nd rope elbow drop then he backbreakers him. Bret then sharpshooters him for the win.

Thoughts: It was your usual squash with Glen getting nothing in and being submitted. Vince and Perfect argued throughout most of this one.

We cut to Perfect and Vince and Perfect is yelled at for having his feet on the table. Vince then runs down today's show.

WWF Update

Mean Gene Okerlund talks about Ric Flair being the WWF champ now and shows that whole situation. Gene says he will talk to Macho Man later on in the show.

Shawn Michaels vs. Ross Greenberg

SM does his usual bit with the mirror pre-match. SM offers a handshake, backs him up in the corner and shakes his hand again. SM then slaps him and makes him chase him. SM then stomps him as he gets in. Ross misses a crossbody and SM stomps him. SM hits a standing dropkick.

SM suplexes Ross. He then makes Ross watch SM punch him in the mirror. Ross hits punches on SM then SM boots him out of the corner. SM superkicks him. SM hits his backdrop and wins.

Thoughts: Ross got a little in at least and they didn't follow the usual format, so it was somewhat watchable.

WWF Event Center

The Big Boss Man does a promo. He said when he was a kid, he was told to treat people the way he'd want to be treated and walk the straight and narrow as he will have to answer for his actions. He says he believes in himself and the people. He said Nailz tried to destroy and cripple him and he will make sure trash like Nailz is out of the WWF for good.

Rick Martel does a promo. He says he's a busy man with the fall season around the corner. He says all the clothes designers want him to model outfits as they know he's the best. He says he's the best in the WWF and feels like a Rolls Royce in a parking lot full of old cars.

Tatanka vs. The Mountie

Mountie sings his theme song in the ring and asks if the crowd knows who he is. Tat then does his entrance, cutting Mountie off.

Mountie stalls outside then ducks Tat's lock up. He then does his own rain dance at Tatanka and the tomahawak chop taunt. Mountie asks if he knows who he is and gets slapped. They slap each other and Tat hits chops. Tat hits chops and Mountie goes over the top in a nice bump.

Mountie tries to walk to the back as we go to break. We return and Mountie is holding his knee outside. Jimmy Hart gets on the apron and distracts. Mountie then tries to boot Tat but is caught. Tat eye pokes him then atomic drops him.

Tat hits another atomic drop and Mountie goes over the top due to it. Mountie then skins the cat to get back in while Hart distracts Tat. Mountie tries to jumping knee Tat from behind but hits Hart instead. Tat hits Mountie in the gut and flips him. 

Hart trips Tat from outside the ring. Mountie hits a flying back elbow. Hart helps hold Tat in reverse tree of woe while Mountie boots Tat. Mountie piledrivers Tat.

Mountie grabs the mic and says, "I am The Mountie". Tat then makes a comeback and hits shots on him. Tat hits a jumping chop then back body drops him. Tat top rope chops him in the head then misses a splash.

Hart gets on the apron and gives Mountie the upgraded shock stick. Mountie tries to shock Tat but misses and Tat rolls out. Mountie threatens the ref with it. Tat chops Mountie from behind then hits more chops. Mountie goes out and Tatanka is awarded the match via DQ.

Thoughts: Mountie took some nice bumps here but this was all shenanigans with Hart interfering, Mountie talking on the mic during the match and trying to use his shock stick. I would expect  that an angle gets built out of this one but it didn't seem like it. 

WWF Event Center

Virgil does a promo. He says the people are behind him 100% and they bring him up when he's down. He says Razor Ramon walks around with gold like he's got a Mr. T start-up kit on. He says he will show him what a lightning strike looks like if he gets in his way. He says he won't know what do when he hits him.

Razor Ramon does a promo. He says he's the hottest star in the WWF. He says ask Macho if you don't believe him. He said Macho lost his gold and his leg and there's only one man who is oozing machismo.

Howard Finkel announces that Shawn Michaels has left the building.

Nailz vs Kerry Davis

Nailz chokes him in the corner as usual then throws him into the buckles. Nailz kicks him then chokes him. Nailz throws him backwards by the head and chokes him. Nailz then submits him with his choke.

Thoughts: It was the usual unimpressive Nailz squash, but at least they kept it quick.

Nailz hits Kerry with his night stick after and throws him out to the floor.

Mean Gene Okerlund interviews "Macho Man" Randy Savage on the stage. Macho limps to the stage and is wearing a "Ultimate Maniacs" knee pad. Gene puts over Macho for coming out despite being injured. Macho says Razor Ramon might notice the WWF Title missing around his waist. He says he's got something extra around his knee and says it was given to him by the greatest friend and toughest opponent he has had - The Ultimate Warrior.

Macho says if you go against him and his Macho Maniacs, but you will also have to go against the power of The Ultimate Warriors. The Ultimate Warrior then comes out and hugs Macho. Warrior shows off his Ultimate Maniacs pad.

Warrior says Macho is a loser of nothing and gave him the greatest battle he ever had at Summerslam. He says there will be a bond between The Maniacs and The Warriors that shall be forever. Macho gives Warrior "Maniacs" sunglasses. He says Warrior will see his future and destiny if he wears them. He says he will also see himself become the ultimate WWF champion.

Thoughts: It was a cool segment showing us the birth of The Ultimate Maniacs. They hammed it up here and brought some fun vibes.

Kamala vs Tony DeVito

Harvey Wippleman does the intro for Kamala as usual. Tony has hair again after being bald on here as Von Krus. He really does look like a different person.

Kam kicks him over then chops him while he's down. Kam chops him over then drops him throat first on the top rope. Kam chokes him. Harvey does an inset promo. He says just like him, Kamala is not afraid of The Undertaker or anyone else. Kam chokes Tony on the ropes then double throat thrusts him. Kam splashes the back and tries to pin his back, until being told to turn him over. Kam then wins.

Thoughts: It was a short on here with Tony getting nothing in as expected.

Paul Bearer wheels a casket out after. Kam is scared of the casket and takes a big bump backwards. He then runs around the ring and escapes through the crowd. Kamala is the best at this stuff and may have missed out on a comedy career.

WWF Event Center

Sean Mooney talks the 10/3/92 Boston Garden show.

Nailz does a promo. He says he will let Kamala and Razor take care of Warrior and Taker and says Boss Man is all his. He says he will nail him to the ring and no one can help him.

The British Bulldog does a promo. He says you gotta be the best of the best to be IC champ. He said he worked 2 long years for this moment. He tells Shawn Michaels to come down and get a chance at his title. He says it'll take more than him and Sherri to take the gold from him. He says he won't lose it to someone like him. 

Alternate WWF Event Center

The Natural Disasters do a promo. Typhoon says there's a list of people who want WWF Tag Title shots but they will give Money Inc one. Quake says they will take on The Nasty's, The Bev's and them. Quake says they will give them a chance to be on top of the WWF and say they will keep the belts a long time.

The British Bulldog does a promo. He says he's the happiest person in the world as he's the IC champ. He says it was a thrill to win the title at home in Wembley. He says the family has reunited. He says he can defend his title against anyone and challenges them to get in line and come on down to see him.

Vince and Perfect talks about next week's show. It has the debut of The Komet Kid, who will become Max Moon. 

Overall thoughts: We had a rare star vs star match and the formation of The Ultimate Maniacs, so it was a bit more notable than usual. It appears that are next programs are The Ultimate Maniacs vs Razor Ramon and ?, Kamala vs The Undertaker, Bret Hart vs Papa Shango and probably Mountie vs Tatanka, but we will see. Tatanka/Mountie had a lot of shenanigans and a non-clean finish so it wasn't must see but Mountie bumped well. The Ultimate Maniacs' segment was fun. The rest of the show just had the usual squashes. The Ultimate Maniacs segment maybe wasn't must see but is definitely important for things moving forward. The show was okay by Superstars standards overall.
