New Japan Pro Wrestling 2/2/2026 Road to The New Beginning 2026 Day 6

Masatora Yasuda, Shota Umino & Yuya Uemura vs. Unbound Co. (Daiki Nagai, OSKAR & Yuto-Ice)

The heels attack before it starts as usual. 4 of the 6 go outside. Yuya's head is banged off the apron. Nagai chops and forearms Masa for 2. Nagai slams him for 2 counts. Nagai stomps him and they trade forearms. Masa dropkicks him. Ice gets in and he knees Masa in the gut. Oskar goes for a tombstone on Masa and it's broken up.

Oskar clubs his opponents then is hit with a triple dropkick. Masa's knee is banged off the mat. Nagai chops him down and foot chokes him. Oskar stomps on Masa. Shota hits offense on his opponents. He back elbows Ice down and basement dropkicks him. Shota chops Oskar in the corner and Oskar chops him. Oskar hits knees to the gut. Shota blocks a big boot and dragon screws him. Shota then does an STF.

Shota dropkicks Oskar in the knee. Oskar avoids a double dropkick then he hits a double lariat. Ice hits chest kicks on Yuya. Ice slaps Yuya around. Yuya drops him with a forearm. Yuya dropkicks him. Yuya armdrags Nagai then backdrops Ice. Nagai dropkicks Yuya. Nagai hits forearms on Yuya then corner dropkicks him. Nagai crabs him and Yuya rope breaks. 

Yuya armbars Nagai then kimura's him. Oskar breaks it up. Masa hits forearms on Oskar then Oskar puts a sleeper on him. Oskar lets go of it. Shota lariats Oskar over the top rope. Nagai takes a lariat + dragon suplex combo and is pinned.

Thoughts: It was a short one and wasn't too much of note. It really didn't matter who won this. It would have been nice to get more of this. Yuya and Shota looked good here.

Ice and Yuya butt heads after. Ice slaps him down then stomps on him. Shota and Ice fight. Ice goes out then Oskar sleepers Shota. Yuya fights Ice outside and Shota fights Oskar inside. Oskar spits at Shota.

Aaron Wolf, Master Wato, Toru Yano & YOH vs. House Of Torture (Dick Togo, DOUKI, Ren Narita & Yoshinobu Kanemaru)

The faces are attacked as they enter. Wolf is sent into the post. Wato's head is banged off the stage. Kanemaru stomps on Yoh then slams him down by the arm. They trade hammerlocks. Yoh does a paradise lock on Kanemaru and poses. 

Yano takes off a turnbuckle pad then the heels send him into the exposed buckle. Yano is then stomped on. Wato gets sent into the rails outside. The heels get a 2 count on Yano then split his legs. Togo armlocks Yano. Ren pokes Yano in the eye with a spike. Ren back elbows him. Ren chokes Yano then Yano atomic drops him.

Wolf shoulder throws Ren then elbow drops him for 2. Wolf corner lariats Ren then suplexes him. Wolf shoulder throws Kanemaru then Ren clips Wolf. Ren russian legsweeps him into a leglock. Ren punches the knee with a spike. 

Wolf AA's Ren. Douki and Wato fight. Wato leg lariats him. Wato bulldogs Douki. Wato does a double arm and neck submission ot him then Douki rolls into a pin attempt for 2. Wato spin kicks him in the gut. Douki step up enzugiri's Wato.

Wato takes corner attacks. Togo snapmares Wato and rakes his face with his boot. Togo tries to use a weapon on Wato. Wato rolls him into a double arm and neck submission and submits him.

Thoughts: It was the usual HoT match with cheating and it wasn't much of note. The faces won here and they tried to put Wato over some in this one. Wolf looked fine in the little he did.

United Empire (Callum Newman, Francesco Akira & Jakob Austin Young) vs. Unbound Co. (David Finlay, Gedo & Hiromu Takahashi)

Unbound attack Young before it starts. Newman comes in and the fight goes out. DF beats up Newman in the seats. Hiromu's head is banged off the bleachers. DF tries to throw Newman off the seats then they fight in the crowd. DF is sent into the rails. Young hits punches on Gedo then Gedo chokes him. 

Gedo hits punches on Young. Newman chokes Gedo and pushes the ref away. Newman foot chokes Gedo. Young euros Gedo. Gedo take a double back elbow. Akira standing moonsaults Gedo. Akira chinlocks Gedo. Akira knees Gedo in the back then bangs his head off the buckles.

Gedo takes running boots then Newman tries to pose on him on a pin. DF hits throat shots on Newman then shoulders him over. DF boots and punches Newman in the corner. He then hits mounted punches in the corner. DF uranage backbreakers him for 2. 

Newman facekicks DF then pele kicks him. DF lariats him from behind. Hiromu and Young come in and trade chops. Hiromu is tripped. Akira is sent into Young and Hiromu forces him to headscissor him. Hiromu baement dropkicks Akira. Young eye rakes Hiromu then rolls him into a double stomp. 

Hiromu takes corner attacks. He is put in tree of woe and takes a basement dropkick for 2. Gedo slaps Akira down and DF lariats Newman over the top. Hiromu running lariats Young. Hiromu then AA's him for 2. Akira rolls him up for 2. Hiromu superkicks him and takes a step up enzugiri. Hiromu pop-up powerbombs him. 

Young germans Hiromu for 2. Akira meteora's Hiromu from behind. Akira then hits a cross-legged side slam and pins him.

Thoughts: It was an okay bout here where they pushed the feud between the two groups. They brawled and fought around everywhere to start then it turned into a regular match.

DF and Newman fight to the back. Hiromu gets double teamed by Young and Akira after. The Young Lions get roughed up some as well.

United Empire (Great-O-Khan, HENARE, Jake Lee & Zane Jay) vs. Unbound Co. (Drilla Moloney, Robbie X, Taiji Ishimori & Yota Tsuji)

Zane and TI start us off. Zane boots him in the gut then Zane takes a double back elbow. X is flipped into a moonsault on him then X rolls TI into a splash on him for 2. Zane pulls TI by the hair. TI hits punches. Zane thesz presses him and hits mounted shots. Jake chokes TI in the corner then stomps on him. 

Khan iron claws TI. Jake puts on a medical latex glove and he tries to put his hand in TI's mouth. TI dropkicks him. Yota and Jake get in. Yota boots him then flying headscissors him. Khan is pushed into Hen then Yota step up enzugiri's Khan. 

Yota forearms Hen. Yota flatliners him then tilt-a-whirl backbreakers Zane. Yota enzugiri's Jake then does his curbstomp combo to him. Yota goes for a marlow crash but is hit with a backdrop. 

Hen and X go at it. X hits lariats. Hen flips him. X kicks Hen in the leg and spin kicks him in the head. X dropkicks him off the buckles for 2. Khan is sent out by X then Zane is too. Drilla low dropkicks them through the ropes and X springboard corkscrew dives outside. TI top rope la silla's Hen. TI gets on Drilla's shoulders and splashes him. X spiral taps Hen for 2.

Yota throws Jake out. X armbreakers Hen. X hits forearms on Hen. Hen punches him in the gut. X superkicks Hen then Hen lariats him.  Zane and Drilla hit back elbows on each other. Zane dropkicks him then fallway slams him with a bridge for 2. Drilla chops Zane and they slap each other. Zane is caught with a powerbomb then Drilla over the shoulder piledrivers him for the win.

Thoughts: It was a fun tag here. They kept things moving. X brought his high flying and Zane did fine. I had no issues with it and liked it more than I thought.

The fight continues after. Jake and Yota fight into the stands and Jake forearms him there. 

Hartley Jackson vs. Oleg Boltin

They shoulder battle to start then shove each other. They then agree to go out and shoulder battle there. They shove each other and Hart wants to do it in the stands. They then shoulder battle in the stands. They trade chops. Hart is pushed down into the seats and ends up rolling over a row of seats.

Oleg is sent into the rails then Hart knocks him over hard. Oleg suplexes him. Oleg then hits a big splash for 2. Hart hits forearms, a corner splash and a lariat. Hart sentons him. Oleg hangs on and karelin's lifts him. Hart germans him twice. Oleg belly to belly suplexes him. 

Oleg hits running lariats. Hart flying back elbows him then sentons him. Hart lariats him for 2. Hart headbutts him and Oleg headbutts him back. Hart hits an AA for 2. Oleg dropkicks him. 

Hart is sat up top. Oleg 2nd rope superplexes him for 2. Oleg finlay rolls him and pins him.

Thoughts: I liked it. It was a hoss battle as you would expect with shoulder battles and the two slamming each other. It ended at about the right time and this lived up to some of the expectations from their various tag matches.

They hold each other's arms up after. 

Zack Sabre Jr. vs. YOSHI-HASHI

They go to the ropes early when Zack goes for a sleeper. Yoshi chops him. Zack piefaces him. Zack facekicks him then Yoshi shoulders him over. Zack triangles him over the top. Zack then twists Yoshi's neck with his feet. Zack then hanging headscissors Yoshi over the 2nd rope. Zack cravates and headscissors him inside then Yoshi ropebreaks. 

Zack kicks Yoshi's back while he's down. Yoshi hits forearms. Zack armwringers him then Yoshi headhunters him. Yoshi running back elbows him in the corner. Yoshi hits chops. Zack euros him. Yoshi trips him and sends him into the rails. 

Yoshi chops him. Yoshi neckbreakers him on the floor. Yoshi throws him in and corner lariats him. Yoshi ddt's him for 2. Zack really sells the ddt. Zack then does a grounded dragon sleeper. Yoshi rope breaks.

Zack stomps him. Zack euros him and PK's him. Zack goes for a michinoku driver and is hit with a reverse ddt. Yoshi corner lariats Zack. Yoshi goes up top and is headbutted. Zack kimura's him up top. Yoshi sunset bombs him for 2. 

Zack PK's him then is hit with a hard lariat. Zack spinning michinoku drivers him. They trade forearms then slap each other. Yoshi hits a made in Japan variation for 2. Yoshi chops him down. Zack facekicks him twice. Yoshi dragon suplexes him then backcrackers him. Yoshi fisherman busters him for 2. Yoshi running lariats him. Zack rolls him up for 2. Zack triangles him.

Zack PK's Yoshi. Yoshi no sells it and superkicks him. Yoshi running lariats him. Zack rolls him and pulls both arms back. Zack pulls his head back as well and Yoshi submits.

Thoughts: It was an okay bout here. They sold a lot, bumped big and stiffed each other. They didn't quite have a great story to this but the had the rest of this right. 

Hirooki Goto vs. Ryohei Oiwa

They lock up. Oiwa side headlocks him and they shoulder battle. Oiwa takes him over, gets put in a headscissors and they stand off. Goto side headlocks Oiwa. Oiwa then reverses it. Goto top wristlocks him but Oiwa powers out and side headlocks him. 

Oiwa shoulders him over. Goto drops down and Oiwa side headlocks him again. Goto hiptosses him then running lariats him over the top into the rails. Goto neckbreakers him for 2 then side headlocks him. Goto bulldogs him for 2 then goes back to the side headlock. 

Goto elbows him in the back of the back of the head then corner lariats him. Goto top rope elbow drops him for 2. Goto chinlocks him then headscissors him. Oiwa hits forearms. Goto elbows him in the back of the neck. Oiwa shoulders him over then sentons him. 

Oiwa corner splashes Goto then dropkicks him. Goto forearms him in the corner. Oiwa back elbows him then Goto ushigoroshi's him. They trade forearms. Oiwa hits a hard lariat. Oiwa backdrops him for 2. Oiwa slams Goto. Oiwa top rope splashes Goto for 2.

Goto blocks a lariat then hits one of his own. Goto misses a corner charge and Oiwa germans him for 2. Oiwa doctor bomb's him for 2. Goto hits a shouten-kai. Goto chest kicks Oiwa down then hits a GTW for 2. Oiwa backrolls him for 2. They lariat each other at the same time. Goto headbutts him and elbow slices him on the knee to win.

Thoughts: It didn't quite get enough time and it was a little slow at times. I still liked it though. The two match up well together on paper and it worked just as well in reality. There were a lot of hard shots thrown here as expected and they had a nice physical match. It was a solid main. 

Goto talks on the mic after and thanks everyone for coming. Goto says it's the anniversary of his dad's death. He says he's not concerned and no one else here should be either. He says he will keep proving this is the premier league of wrestling. Goto then poses to close the show.

Overall thoughts: I liked the show. The first two matches weren't much of note. The 3rd bout was alright with them pushing the UE vs Unbound feud. I liked the fourth match and thought it was fun. The big three singles matches here all delivered as expected. Harley/Oleg was a good hoss battle. Zack/Yoshi maybe didn't have the story but the work was right. The main was fine as expected. I'd give this a slight 7 out of 10 as 5 of the 7 matches were fine and we got a better show than usual.
