New Japan Pro Wrestling 2/11/2026 The New Beginning In Osaka 2026

Note - Hiromu Takahashi has left NJPW. I've never been a big of his but he's obviously one of their stars and is over there. NJPW's gonna miss him.

Togi Makabe & Toru Yano vs. Katsuya Murashima & Shoma Kato

This is Murashima's and Kato's send-off match as they will go wrestle abroad. KM shoulders Togi over then slams Yano. Togi takes a double shoulderblock. Togi slams Kato. Yano hiptosses Kato. Kato is thrown into the exposed buckles. 

Kato chops Yano then Yano eye rakes him. Kato hits forearms on Togi then Togi drops him with a forearm. Togi hits forearms in the corner on him and foot chokes him. Yano foot chokes Kato. Kato goes into the exposed buckle then he dropkicks Yano. 

KM comes in and shoulders over Yano. He hits chops and forearms. KM flying forearms him then hits rolling sentons him for 2. Yano pulls KM down by the hair. Togi shoulders over KM then KM shoulders him over. KM belly to belly suplexes Togi then running powerslams him for 2. 

KM crabs Togi. Togi rope breaks. KM hits slaps on Togi then is dropped with a lariat. KM cradles him for 2. Togi lariats him for 2. Togi samoan drops KM for 2. KM slams him then top rope diving knees him for the win.

Thoughts: The vets won as expected but KM got a lot of offense in and put up a good fight. It was an okay vet vs rookie match and fine for what it was.

We get a graphic and ceremony for Tadao Yasuda, who passed away this week. They ring the bell 10 times for him.

United Empire (Francesco Akira & Jakob Austin Young) vs. Unbound Co. (Hiromu Takahashi & Taiji Ishimori)

This will be Hiromu's last NJPW match for the meantime. Akira hits HT from behind and HT is double teamed. HT lifts TI into a headscissors on Jake. Jake takes corner attacks then a double basement dropkick. 

Jake running back elbows TI. TI is put in tree of woe and Akira baseball slides him for 2. Jake neckbreakers TI for 2. TI takes a double back elbow > shining wizard > standing moonsault for 2. Akira hits mounted shots on TI then bangs his head off the buckles. Akira and TI slap each other in the corner. Akira stomps him in the conrer and knee chokes him. Akira basement dropkicks TI.

TI eye rakes Akira. Jake stomps TI. TI sends his opponents into each other and hits a ddt + flatliner combo on them. HT comes in. He crossbodies both opponents. HT corner lariats Akira. HT lifts the ref into a headscissors on Akira. HT corner lariats Akira then basement dropkicks him for 2. 

Akira hits chops on HT. HT chops back. Akira bites his arm then does a neat twisting underhook neckbreaker for 2. Akira is thrown to the apron and he slingshot cutters HT on his way in. HT pop-up sitout powerbombs him. TI and Jake trade forearms. TI takes a half-nelson suplex and Jake suplexes TI for 2. 

TI upkicks Jake then hits a zigzag on him. Jake takes corner attacks, a flying knee then a drop on TI's knees. Akira enzugiri's HT. TI superkicks Akira and HT AA's Akira. TI la mistica drops Jake into a border city stretch. Jake taps out.

Thoughts: It was an okay juniors bout. They kept things moving. I was a bit surprised to see HT's team win since he's leaving. 

HT waves to the fans after. Akira hits him from behind then pounds on him.  Akira hits HT in the gut with a chair and says, "he's leaving you" to the crowd. Akira goes to pillmanize him. Robbie X stops him and hits a handspring cutter. HT lariats Akira.

War Dragons (Drilla Moloney & Shingo Takagi) vs. United Empire (Great-O-Khan & HENARE)

UE attacks before the bell. Shingo is double teamed in the corner. Shingo slams Khan then punches Hen. Hen takes a double shoulderblock. Hen takes an elbow drop and a senton. Hen and Drilla trade chops. Hen samon drops Drilla then sentons him. Khan wraps Drilla's taped up arm around the rope connector. Khan then chairs a chair against it. Khan then chairs him.

Drilla takes a mongolian chop from Khan then dropkicks him. Shingo hits a corner lariat on Khan then chops and punches. Shingo hits a flatliner + ddt combo then a double lariat. Khan mongolian chops Shingo. Shingo does it back to him. Shingo lariats him down for 2. 

UE take stereo slams then The War Dragons hit stereo top rope elbow drops. Khan takes a lariat + spear in the corner. Khan pump kicks Drilla down. Hen clubs on Drilla then step up knees him in the corner. Hen PK's him for 2. Khn jumping forearms Drilla then Hen uranage's Drilla. Drilla is lifted for a sitout powerbomb for 2.

Khan punches Shingo in the gut. Drilla hits shots on Hen then Hen backdrops him. Hen lariats him from behind. Hen and Shingo lariat each other. Shingo headbutts him and Drilla spears Hen. Drilla hits a drilla killa on Khan and Shingo hits a torture rack drop on Hen. Shingo running lariats Hen. Hen is hit with a coriolis and is pinned.

Thoughts: It was a decent bout. It didn't get enough time to be anything too be special but it was fine for what it was. They stiffed each other and Henare was trying. It looked like a decent bout on paper and it was.

Drilla talks on the mic after and says he has re-signed with NJPW. He says he would love be in the New Japan Cup. Daiki Nagai then poses with them.

NEVER Openweight Six Man Tag Team Title Match - Bishamon (Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI) & Oleg Boltin (c) vs. TMDK (Hartley Jackson, Ryohei Oiwa & Zack Sabre Jr.)

Hart and Oleg shoulder battle to start. They trade chops. Oleg shoulders him over. Zack triangles Oleg over the top while Hart slam Yoshi.Hart shoulders Oleg over. Hart suplexes Oleg for 2. Zack stomps Oleg's arm into the mat. Oiwa dropkicks Oleg. Oiwa corner splashes him then Oleg belly to belly suplexes him. 

Goto comes in and knocks his opponents off the apron. He lariats Oiwa then suplexes Zack onto Oiwa for 2. Goto and Oiwa trade forearms. They collide with lariats and Oiwa spinning lariats him. Goto takes a double shoulderblock. Hart splashes him then Goto takes a neck twist + splash combo.

Everone gets a move in then Oleg and Hart double lariat each other down. Oiwa hits a chaos theory on Goto for 1. Goto ushigorosi's Oiwa. Yoshi lariats Zack then sitout powerbombs him for 2. Zack ties up both of Yoshi's arms and grabs a leg. Yoshi superkicks Zack. 

Zack pele kicks the arm, euros him and chest kicks him. Yoshi no sells it and running lariats him. Yoshi takes a corner splash, a backdrop and a senton or 2. Oleg takes a german from Hart then Oiwa lariats Oleg over the top. Hart corner splashes Yoshi then lariats him. Hart death valley drivers Yoshi for 2. 

Yoshi cradles Hart for 2. Goto and Hart collide with lariats then Oleg lariats Hart. Oiwa and Zack arm wringer Oleg together then Oleg F-5's Zack. Oleg finlay rolls Oiwa. Hart headbutts Oleg down. Hart double lariats Goto and Yoshi down. Goto spinning heel kicks Hart in the corner. Hart is lifted for a reverse ddt bomb + Oleg splash and is pinned.

Thoughts: Like the prior match, it was an entertaining bout as expected. We had a bunch of hard hitting and faster paced workers here and they delivered as promised. It's just a shame we didn't get more of it because what we got was fun. I liked this. 

IWGP Global Heavyweight Title #1 Contendership Match - Andrade El Idolo vs. Gabe Kidd

Idolo side headlocks him. They shoulder battle, shove and forearm each other. Idolo lays on the ropes and poses. Gabe sits down and does Shibata's pose. Idolo goes for a hurricanrana but takes a sitout powerbomb. Gabe lariats Idolo down on the apron. Gabe then rolls and teases the tranquillo pose. Gabe running facekicks Idolo outside.

Idolo back body drops him on the apron. Idolo chops him against the rails. They fight on the buckles. Gabe is stuck in tree of woe and Idolo misses a top rope double stomp. Idolo enzugiri's him from the apron. Gabe headbutts him on the apron then Idolo final cuts him on the apron.

Idolo springboard triangle tornillo's Gabe outside. Idolo top rope sitout moonsaults Gabe for 2. Idolo baseball slides Gabe for 2. They trade forearms then slap each other. Gabe drops Idolo with a lariat after banging his head off the buckles. Gabe backdrops Idolo for 2. Idolo hits triple suplexes for 2. Idolo does a top rope moonsault into a standing moonsault on Gabe.

Idolo misses a corner meteora. Gabe rebound lariats him for 2. They trade chops. Gabe hits headbutts. Idolo dropkicks him. Idolo corner meteora's him for 2. Gabe piledrivers him for 2. Gabe cradles him for 2. Idolo spinning back elbows him. Idolo twisting double underhook drops him and wins.

Thoughts: Idolo winning was a definitely an upset. It went a little long and was strike heavy. It was an okay bout which might have been better with a bit less time. 

David Finlay vs. Callum Newman

CN has new entrance gear, a sword and a new theme.

They run at each other and fire away with fast forearms. DF sends CN out and sends him into the rails. They go into the crowd and DF forearms him there. DF eye pokes him and sends him into the wall. They head back to the ring and CN's head is banged off the apron. 

DF corner euros CN then CN suplexes him into the buckles. CN flying knees DF in the corner. CN hits punches on him. CH chinlocks him. DF hits a uranage backbreaker on CN for 2. DF boots CN in the corner and bites him. DF hits corner lariats on CN then release suplexes him. 

DF lariats him over the top and goes with him. DF suplexes him on the apron. DF then pounces Zane Jay into the rails. CN is powerbombed into the post by DF. DF dominators him. DF hits crossface shots. 

CN hits him in the gut then chest kicks him. CN kicks him in the chest for 2. DF hits oblivion on him for 2. DF buckle bombs him then lariats him from behind. DF powerbombs him for 2. DF spinning forearms him then is hit with a spinning forearm. CN drops him with a forearm. CN hits overkill and double stomps him several times. 

CN hits a big lariat then an underhook suplex. CN then pins him.

Thoughts: DF may be leaving NJPW so he lost here. It went a bit long but they had the idea right. They shoved their hatred towards each other, they got rough with each other and brawled.

CN makes him kiss his hand after and poses with his sword on him. DF bows to the crowd after.

Hiroshi Tanahashi comes out to talk. He says they will be on TV Asahi on 6/14. 

NEVER Openweight Title Match - Aaron Wolf (c) vs. Ren Narita

Wolf is attacked by HoT as he walks down the aisle. He is sent into the rails. The ref does nothing about it. Wolf is sent into the post. Wolf is down in the ring but the match starts.

Wolf hits a sitout AA on him. Wolf hits an angle slam and Ren boots the ref during it. HoT stomp Wolf. Wolf fights off HoT. Ren low blows Wolf then facebusters him for 2. Togo chokes Wolf with a weapon while Ren grabs the ref. Ren flying knees Wolf off the buckles and wins.

Thoughts: It was a short joke of a match with Ren cheating the whole time and winning in a a little over 2 minutes. This was awful stuff as always.

Wolf is beaten up after then some Oleg, Wato and YOH save him. 

IWGP Tag Team Title Match - Knockout Brothers (OSKAR & Yuto-Ice) (c) vs. Shota Umino & Yuya Uemura

The heels hurry in and the fight starts. Ice and Yuya trade. Yuya takes him down and they roll around. Ice kick flurries him in the corner then spin kicks him. Ice corner meteora's him then hits mounted forearms. Ice forearms him in the corner. Os pulls him off. Yuya pushes Ice off the apron then Os chops Yuya down. 

Shota knocks Ice off the apron. Os then stomps on Shota. Shota hits forearms and chops on him in the corner. Os knees him in the gut. Shota trips Os into the ropes and ddt's him on the apron over the 2nd rope. Ice is sent into the rails. Shota running dropkicks Os over the rail. Shota running knees Os as he hangs over the rail. Shota then bridging ddt's him on the floor.

Shota running lariats Os. Shota lariats him then does it from behind. Shota drops him with a lariat for 2. Ice hits shots on Shota and superkicks him. Os fights off a double team then slams Shota. Os elbow drops him for 2. 

Shota forearms Os. Os goes for a suplex and Shota ddt's him. Ice and Yuya get in and butt heads. They trade forearms. Yuya hits forearms and is slapped. Yuya armdrags and dropkicks him. Yuya mounts him and hits slaps. Yuya armbars him and Ice ropebreaks.

Ice knees Yuya in the gut then running boots him in the head. Ice throws him down by the hair. Yuya knees him in the gut. Yuya 2nd rope twisting crossbodies him. Yuya chops Ice then Ice forearms him. Ice knees him in the gut. Ice enzugiri's him. Yuya forearms him down. Ice grabs his hair and lariats him. Yuya backdrops him. 

Yuya hits forearms on Ice. They butt heads and slap each other. Ice slaps him down and buzzsaw kicks him for 2. Shota enzugiri's Os when they fight. Shota step up knees him in the corner then running knees him from behind in the corner. Shota superplexes Os and Yuya top rope frogsplashes Os for 2.

Shota dropkicks Ice. Os takes lariat + dragon suplex. Ice PK's Yuya. Shota hits forearms on Ice and Os. Shota takes a kick + tombstone. Yuya front suplexes Ice. Os sleepers Yuya. Yuya stunners him. Yuya cradles him for 2. Yuya gets a 2 count on him. Yuya enzugiri's him thenr germans him for 2. Yuya is sent into a hard knee from Ice. Yuya takes a tombstone + kick and is pinned.

Thoughts: It was a good match as expected. We've seen this a couple of times and knew what we were getting into. It was a hard hitting, they kept a good pace and the crowd was into it. It was a hard fiery fight and lived up to expectations.

Ricochet and The Demand from AEW appear on the tron. Ric says he's going to call out Taiji Ishimori at New Beginning. Kaun says they are sharks and smell blood in the water. Toa says the sharks are circling them and have their eyes on the IWGP Tag Titles. Ice agrees to the match after and says, "let's get high".

IWGP Heavyweight Title Match - Yota Tsuji (c) vs. Jake Lee

They lock up.and let go. Yota boots him and Lee ducks a dropkick. Ice rolls around his back and armdrags him. Lee goes from one side of the ring to the other and Yota topes him. Yota chops him and forearms him in the spine. Yota bodyscissors him. 

Yota gets on the 2nd rope and Lee facekicks him down. They get back in. Lee sticks his fingers in Yota's mouth and makes sounds. Yota hits forearms. Lee flying kicks him and laughs. Lee atomic drops him then kicks him in the butt. Lee boots him in the gut for 2 and waves to the crowd. Lee tries to stick his hand in Yota's mouth again.

Lee eye rakes him then Yota flying headscissors him. Yota flatliners him. Yota hits forearms and kicks the ropes into his face. Yota low leg lariats him. Yota splashes him for 2. Yota crabs him and Lee rope breaks.

Yota hits chops on Lee on the ropes. Lee ddt's Yota. Lee knees Yota in the gut several times. Yota is laid on the top rope. Lee hits knees and slaps his back. Yota blocks Lee's PK and sweeps him on the apron. Lee's knee is banged off the apron then Yota dragon screws him.

Yota dragon screws him. Lee holds the knee and Yota step up knees him in the corner. They trade forearms. Yota does his flatliner + curbstomp combo on him. Lee blocks the marlow crash and slaps him in the butt. Lee top rope backdrops him for 2. Yota running powerbombs him and knees him in the face. Lee running facekicks him.

They trade chops then forearms. Lee enzugiri's him then knees him in the gut. Lee chest kicks him down. Lee germans him and running knees him for 2. Lee knees him in the face and front facelocks him. Lee suplexes him for 2. 

Lee mises a corner facekick. Yota 2nd rope reverses suplexes him. Yota runs at him and Lee knees him in the face. Lee chokeslams him for 2. Lee high kicks him and Yota spears him for 2. Yota curbstomps him. Lee fires up and Yota spears him to win.

Thoughts: I had heard it was bad. It wasn't quite as bad as I thought it would be. Lee makes a lot of weird faces and hand motions now and I don't think it's working out as it is supposed to. It was fine when they were hitting each other hard but I'd rather not see this or Lee again. I would just say this was average.

Lee is carried up the aisle after. Yota talks on the mic and then Lee falls over while seated and has to be carried more. Yota says a line about Bushiroad (the company that owns NJPW) selling card games. Yota says they put their lives on the line in the ring. He says he will protect wrestling and NJPW. He asks the crowd to walk with him and make this place bigger. Yota gets streamers and asks Unbound Co. to get in the ring. Yota tells Hiromu he has support no matter what happens. Hiromu thanks him. He says he wanted to win the IWGP Title as a junior but doesn't think he can right now. He says he hates himself for it. He says it's still his goal though. He says it's not goodbye but see you later. He says let's enjoy NJPW and Hiromu. Ice gets tared up and puts his hood over his face. Everyone poses and Hiromu is thrown up in the air then powerbombed down.

Yota ended up getting in trouble over his line about the card games.

Overall thoughts: It was an okay show from NJPW. The semi-main was the best thing on here by far. Finlay/Newman wasn't bad. I liked the Oiwa and Shingo tags here and the opener was okay too. Ren/Wolf was the usual House of Torture crap. The main was average. Hiromu got a nice little sendoff here as he is finishing his NJPW run. I'd give it a 5 out of 10 and I wouldn't really recommend anything from here except the semi-main.
