EPW Wrestling 2/21/2025 Episode #230

Gene Jackson and Joey Gross are on commentary. They hype up this week's show.

CJ Thomas vs Shawn Aries

They lock up. CJ wristlocks him. SA rolls, bridges and headflips out. SA wristlocks him. CJ rolls through and arm wringers him. SA wristlocks him. CJ side headlocks him. SA reverses it. SA lariats him over. SA hits euros and chops. CJ dropkicks him in the knee and sends SA face first into the 2nd buckle.

We go to break and return. CJ is tripped into the 2nd buckle. SA snapmares him then PK's him. SA standing moonsaults him for 2. CJ slides out. CJ sweeps SA on the apron then bangs SA's leg off the post. CJ knee drops SA's leg. SJ stretch mufflers him and rolls him into a pin attempt. SA hits punches then lariats.

SA hits a spin kick to the gut SA springboard kicks him. SA double jump moonsaults CJ for 2. CJ backrolls him for 2 then SA reverses it. SA forces the ref out as he rolls back and the ref says he counted 3. 

Thoughts: The finish got messed up some here and it's a shame as things weren't going that bad. I would have liked Aries to sell his leg more since CJ was working on it.

Wonder Boy vs Mims

Yep, it's Mims from NWA Powerrr.

They lock up. Mims backs him up in the corner then boots him. Mims side headlocks him. We go to break and return and Mims has another headlock on. WB reverses the headlock. Mims puts him in the corner. Mims misses a corner charge. WB flying forearms him.  They repeat the spot.

WB is caught on a crossbody and slammed. Mims misses a splash. WB dropkicks him then crossbodies him for 2. Mims goes out to stall. Mims threatens the ref and WB clubs him as he tries to get in. Mims throws him in the corner and hits gut punches and corner spears.

Mims hits a big slam on him for 2. Mims headbutts him then belly to belly suplexes him for 2. WB jawbreakers him then hits various strikes. WB drops him with a wind-up punch. Mims backs him into a nodowa otoshi and wins.

Thoughts: It was an acceptable bout here. It was a bit of a power vs power match-up and Mims ended up pulling this one out. 

Mims grabs WB after and offers a handshake. They shake hands and Mims shockingly doesn't attack him.

We see clips of Madi interfering in the Corinne/Lil Bit title match.

Madi the American Baddie vs Corinne Joy

CJ wristlocks her and uses the ropes to armdrag her. CJ handspring back elbows her. CJ back elbows her then headscissors her into the 2nd buckle. CJ uses the buckes to cartwheel forward then lariats her. Madi hits a slam then running back elbows her against the 2nd rope. 

Madi germans her then backdrops her for 2. Madi throws her down backwards. Madi knee chokes her while using the ropes. We go to break and return. Madi boots her then does a grounded full-nelson. CJ turns it into pin attempts. 

CJ rolls her up for 2 then superkicks her. CJ running knees her. CJ hits a top rope frogsplash for 2 then they trade pin attempts. CJ eventually scores the pin.

Thoughts: I was alright with this. They connected on various moves and weren't too sloppy. CJ beating Madi was a bit of a surprise but Madi could use this to push her conspiracy theorist character.

We see clips of The Order beating up Cabana Man Dan and Aaron Roberts making the save from a few episodes ago. We then see clips of The Order jumping Aaron and we see Silas Mason saving Aaron.

Aaron Roberts does a promo. He says he signed full-time to EPW. He says he has revenge and gold on his mind. He says The Order stands in the way of both of those things. He says The Order got involved in his NWA Title match. He says the EPW Title belongs to him. He promises to hunt Vain down and says his championship reign is numbered.

EPW World Title - Dorian Vain (c) vs "Kickflip" Isiah Cone

Hollywood Jimmy is with DV. 

Cone running dropkicks him by surprise then hits forearms and euros on him in the corner. Cone facekicks him then shining wizards him for 2. Jimmy trips Cone then DV spinebusters Cone. DV underhook suplexes him. 

DV hits punches on him in the corner. DV short arm lariats him for 2. Cone gets some shots in. Cone knee lifts him. Cone top rope dropkicks DV. DV blocks a slingshot cutter. DV flatliners him and pins him.

Thoughts: It was a short but sweet match and it did exactly what it was supposed to do. Cone got some offense in, showed some fire and was a solid underdog face vs Vain. Vain won but this helped out Cone and I liked this.

DV picks up Cone after then he drops him with a punch. The Order come out and beat up on Cone. Mims comes out to help and gets beaten up. The Blacklist then come out and fight The Order too. The faces get the edge and The Order pull DV out.

We see clips of the Marko Harris vs Grayson Pierce fight from a few episodes back. We then see them being forced to team.

Grayson Pierce and Marko Harris vs Austin Mulitalo and Ethan Steele

GP and Marko shove each other as they enter and try to pose in humorous fashion. Austin's team then mocks them and Marko mocks them back.

ES misses a charge and goes into the corner. Austin misses one and GP whips Marko into both. Marko slingblades Austin. GP dropkicks ES and celebrates. Marko then pushes him and celebrates. They push each other and get hit by their opponents. ES stomps Marko and the match officially starts.

ES hits punches and boots on Marko then Austin joins in. Marko escapes a double suplex. Marko hits a double leapfrog then a double dropkick. Marko punches GP on a failed double team but isn't bothered. ES facekicks Marko and Austin backdrops Marko.

Austin boots Marko in the corner. ES stomps Marko and chokes him. ES hits punches on Marko. Mark hits chops on ES. GP rolls in and stunners ES. Marko neckbreakers ES and GP gets a 2 count on him. 

We go to break and return. Marko is sent into the buckles and Austin abuses him on the ropes. Marko step up enzugiri's him. ES elbow drops Marko then rakes his eyes. Marko facekicks ES. GP is taking selfies and not paying attention. Marko chops GP in the back to tag him in. GP comes in and drops Marko with a punch.

GP springboard double crossbodies his opponents. GP superkicks Austin. GP handspring enzugiri's ES. GP hits an ushigoroshi on Austin. GP goes up top, Marko hits him in the leg and GP gets crotched. Marko rolls into a jumping knee on Austin then os cutters him. GP top rope M. Bison stomps Marko but Marko lands on Austin and gets the pin.

Thoughts: This was super entertaining and just so much fun. GP and Marko can't get along and spent half the match attacking and annoying each other but in the end, they somehow pulled out the win by accident. Steele had some good looking offense here and Marko/GP were just so over the top and entertaining with their shenanigans. I really enjoyed this and would recommend checking this one out.

Overall thoughts: It was a fun show. The main was really good and worth a look with Marko/Pierce not being able to get along. The opener had some positives to it. Mims' match was acceptable as was the women's match. I liked Vain/Cone and thought they got that one right as well. I'd give this a 6 out of 10 and thought they did a good job with this one.
