Pro Wrestling NOAH 8/13/2022 N-1 Victory Day 2

I just covered the N-1 matches here:

N-1 Victory 2022 Block A Match - Go Shiozaki vs Anthony Greene

Greene reverses an armdrag into a headlock. Greene hits some chops on Go and Go isn't impressed. Go ducks a chop and hits one of his own. Go ends up outside and Greene tornillo plancha's him. Go then misses a chop and hits the corner post. Greene bangs Go's hand off the rails and the apron. Greene then misses his top rope walk into a crossbody. Go back elbows Greene for 1.

They trade chops and Go machine gun chops him. Greene then 2nd rope dropkicks him. Greene flying back elbows him then does his rope walk twisting crossbody for 2. They trade more chops and Greene superkicks him. Greene then flips him on a back drop for 2. Go tries a spinning chop but is superkicked then Go twisting superplexes Greene. Go misses a lariat but gets him with a lariat from the other arm. They both roll out of a suplex then Go hits a go flasher for 2. Go then hits a big lariat and wins it.

It was short and compact. They still somehow managed to do a little too much but it was a decent opener.

N-1 Victory 2022 Block B Match - Satoshi Kojima vs Kinya Okada

Okada running dropkicks him then kick and forearm flurries him in the corner. Okada snapmares and kicks him then is run over with a shoulder. Koji neckbreakers him and they trade chops. Koji hits forearms then machine gun chops him in the corner. Koji top rope elbows him for 2. Okada spinning kicks him then hits a big dropkick. Okada hits kicks outside and sends Koji into the rails. Okada goes on the apron and is lariated in the back of the leg. Koji then ddt's him on the apron.

Koji ddt's Okada then Okada kicks him in the chest. Okada hits more chest kicks and drops him. Okada then gutwrench suplexes him for 2. Koji cutters him and Okada back rolls him into a pin attempt. He then fisherman suplexes him for 2. Okada enzugiri's him then takes a big lariat. Koji then gets the win.

This was fun. This was a little on the shorter end but was hard hitting with some spirit to it and the two matched up well.

N-1 Victory 2022 Block A Match - El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. vs Kazuyuki Fujita

This is quite the styles clash. Doc takes him down then they get up. Fujita takes him down. They trade shoulders then Doc dropkicks him. Doc then does a nice tope on him. Doc throws him into the rails then is lariated. Kaz slams him and crabs him. Kaz ties his legs up and Doc ropebreaks.

Doc cannonballs him in the corner and frogsplashes him. They trade forearms and Kaz spinebusters him. Doc back body drops him. Kaz hits some lariats and goes for a soccer kick. Doc rolls him up on the kick attempt and grabs the win.

This was another shorter match and it wasn't too bad at all, far better than I expected. The surprise finish even worked for me a little here.

N-1 Victory 2022 Block A Match - Masaaki Mochizuki vs Kenoh

Mocchy takes him down. They battle shoulders then kicks and Mocchy gets his PK blocked into a leglock. Ken STF's him and Mocchy ropebreaks. Ken hits kicks and Mocchy hits fight back with chops. Mocchy spin kicks Ken on the apron and pushes his gut into the rail.

Mocchy works the ribs/stomach and spin kicks him in the gut. Mocchy stomach claws him then gutbusters him. Mocchy 2nd rope footstomps him and axe kicks him in the corner. Mocchy facekicks him and Ken gives him one back. They trade chest kicks and Ken drops him with one. Ken jumpingm double knees him in the corner then 2nd rope kneedrops him. Ken legsweeps him into a double stomp on the back then shining wizards him in the back of the head. Ken PK's him for 2.

Ken goes for a top rope footstomp and is punched in the gut. Mocchy puts him between the buckles and running knee's him then hits kicks as he is on his knees. Mocchy dragon suplexes him then takes one back. They block kicks and slap each other then Mocchy dragon suplexes him. They both try dragon's and finally Ken gets one to win it.

It was another shorter and more compact match but it was action packed and fun. I liked the kick exchanges but the gut/rib work really didn't end up going anywhere though.

N-1 Victory 2022 Block B Match - Masa Kitamiya vs Kaito Kitomiya

Kaito rolls and cartwheels out of a wristlock into an armdrag. Masa shoulders him over then Ken back elbows him and elbow drops him. Ken hits a sunset flip then crossbodies him. Ken then hits a flying lariat for 2. Masa drops him on his knees. Masa wroks the knee more then Kaito hits forearms and a dropkick. Kaito then takes a back body drop over the top.

Kaito tries to go off the 2nd buckle but slips and just lays there. Masa then works his leg more. Kaito comes back with forearms. Kaito hits more forearms and 2nd rope twisting forearms him. Kaito top rope missile dropkicks him for 2 then flying knees him in the corner. Kaito goes for another bus is caught and dropped on his knees. Masa lariats him for 2. Masa then leglocks him and Ken ropebreaks.

Masa drops him on his knee the takes a flying knee. Masa corner lariats him then takes forearms and a dropkick. Kaito germans him for 2. Masa hits a nice spear for 2. Kaito sunset flips him then backslides him for 2. Kaito hits some flying knees.

Masa misses a top rope senton then backdrops him. Masa then seated guillotines him and wins it.

I'm not a big fan of matches where the body part work takes up the first half then it is forgotten about later and that's what this was. I also didn't like Kaito getting his knee attacked all match then using his knee as a weapon, as it should hurt too much for it.

N-1 Victory 2022 Block A Match - Masato Tanaka vs Hideki Suzuki

They go to the mat and Tanaka headlocks him. Suzuki headlock takeovers him then takes a headscissors. They trade forearms. Tanaka hits a running forearm but is slammed. Suzuki then kneedrops him on the back. Suzuki bodyscissors him then drops him with a euro. Tanaka tornado ddt's him then lariats him in the corner. Tanaka lariats him on the apron then does a sliding D off the apron on him.

Suzuki blocks Tanaka's frogsplash then backbreakers him. Suzuki octopus stretches him. Tanaka sliding d's him then superplexes him. Suzuki tombstones him then dragon suplexes him for 2. Tanaka rolls him on a backslide and hits another sliding D. Tanaka then top rope frogsplashes him for 2. Suzuki stf's him and wins it.

It was okay but not great. They were pretty stiff with each other which I liked and it was shorter so Suzuki had to pick the pace up a little more than usual.

N-1 Victory 2022 Block B Match - Masakatsu Funaki vs Katsuhiko Nakajima

They trade leg kicks and go to the mat. They do more leg kicks and Funaki takes him down. Funaki is down on his back and Katsu hits leg kicks then grabs his legs. Funaki then slaps on ankle lock and Katsu goes outside. Funaki hits more leg kicks and takes him down. Katsu is on top of him. Katsu enzugiri's and dragon screws him then STF's him.

Katsu facekicks him off the apron then kicks him from the apron while he is standing on the floor. Funaki then goes into the rails and post and Katsu hits more kicks on him. Katsu hits more kicks inside then is dropped with a knee. Funaki hits kicks on him. Katsu lets Funaki throw kicks at him. Katsu throws some back and misses a high kick but backdrops him.

Katsu kicks him while he is down then PK's him for 2. Funaki drops him with a slap then tombstones him for a win.

The finish kind of worked and while the second half was good, the first half was pretty slow without much happening.

Overall thoughts:
This was a good night at the N-1 with only one match not being decent.
