WWE NXT Level Up 8/5/2022

Dante Chen and Guru Raaj vs Damaris Griffin and Bryson Montana

Raaj is taken down and hits a nice dropkick on Montana. Montana takes a nice hiptoss bump for Chen then Raaj top rope double axe handles him. Montana bridging neckbreakers Raaj then Griffin pounces Raaj. Griffin chokebombs Raaj then Montana pounds on Raaj with elbows. Montana then kicks Raaj and neck cranks him. Montana pops up Raaj and is dropkicked.

Chen gets the hot tag in and has trouble getting Griffin off his feet before really hitting a stiff flying clothesline. Chen atomic drops him then criss-cross pump kicks him. Griffin misses a 2nd rope splash then Chen double chops Griffin and wins it.

There wasn't anything wrong with this and it was decent.

Arianna Grace was interviewed about Thea Hail. She says Thea has a victory over her, but says she won't be a match for her. She says she looks towards the future and talks about her role as a beauty pageant queen. She said Thea has Chase U, but she has the entire universe and says she must prepare for victory. Arianna was heavy on the beauty queen persona here and I think it could work. We haven't had a lot of those and maybe none since Debra.

Thea Hail vs Arianna Grace

Thea gets a sideheadlock and runs Grace around. Thea satellite headscissors her then backflips out of a legsweep. Grace backdrops Thea then stands on her. Grace then sits her on the middle rope, pushes her into the ropes then slams her back. Grace goes for a backdrop and Thea reverses it. Grace suplexes her and climbs her back with a sleeper and is dropped backwards. Thea works on a come back with back elbows nad hits a sloppy side blockbuster. She then standing moonsaults her. Grace regains control, rolls her up and uses the ropes to win.

This really wasn't too bad. It had some things that could have been done cleaner, but it was the best thing Grace has done so far. Thea's really starting to come into her own and with her athleticism, energy, likability and gimmick, I'm starting to see why WWE signed her.

Xyon Quinn vs ?

They emphasized Xyon's haka dance. Xyon gets on the mic after and allows his opponent 10 seconds to leave. His opponent takes him up on it and leaves. Xyon says he's here to see who has the x-factor and is man enough to step into the ring with Quinn. Quincy Elliot then comes out.

Xyon Quinn vs Quincy Elliot

Quincy rode a mopad out and was mega over here. They even predicted he would be the opponent before he came out. Xyon runs at him at the bell then flurries him. Quincy comes back with punches then hits corner spears. Quincy hits a nice hiptoss then diing shoulders him as he runs. Quincy slaps him hard in the corner and Xyon hits more shots. Xyon hits some clubs to the back and Quincy starts hulking up. He hits some punches then Xyon uses his double forearm block and knocks him down.

Xyon punches him then death valley drivers him for 2. Xyon hits him in the back and puts him in a cobra clutch. Quincy his some shoulders then running euro's him. Quincy corner splashes him then does Irie's rebound splash and wins!

Huge upset here as Quincy was not expected to win. Xyon absolutely killed his first comeback here but thankfully they got it right at the end when it mattered. Quincy was too over for how he was booked here.

Overall thoughts:
The first tow matches were decent and the main had a surprise winner. This show is never must see, but I thought it was a decent half hour of wrestling.
