New Japan Pro Wrestling 8/7/2022 G1 Climax 32 Day 13 

Here's what I saw:

G1 Climax 32 Block C Match - EVIL vs Aaron Henare

Evil charges at Henare and beats on him some then Henare 2nd rope twisting kicks him. They go outside, Henare chases after Togo and is hit when he goes back in by Evil. Evil hits chops in the corner and Henare is whipped into the exposed buckle in the corner. Henare gets pushed off the apron into the rails and knocks the announcer's desk over. Evil then uses Togo's help in an octopus stretch on the floor.

Henare throws Evil into the rails chest first and he does a flip over them. Henare berzerker bombs him for 2. Henare elbows and high kicks Evil in the head, then 2nd rope sentons him. Evil fisherman suplexes Henare then hits a darkness falls for 2. Evil eye rakes him then Henare uranage's him. Evil is thrown into Togo on the apron then is high kicked. Evil takes a full nelson and tries to grab the ref. The ref swats at Evil, ends up slapping Henare and the ref goes down. Togo interferes and Evil throws a chair at Henare. Evil sto's him and wins it.

This was your typical Evil match and was not good as usual with ref bumps, weapons and other nonsense.

G1 Climax 32 Block A Match - Tom Lawlor vs Bad Luck Fale

Tom gets jumped while doing his pants removal gag. He goes for a tornado ddt and is thrown out to the floor. Fale hits forearms on the floor then throws him into the rails. Fale starts stacking rails on Tom to force a countout and Royce Isaacs has to help Tom out. Tom gets back in the ring in time, then is slammed and stepped on. Fale then hits a big spear.

Tom tries to ankle locks him and does it as he is outside. Tom chokes him with his jean shorts. Fale samoan drops him then Tom hits leg kicks. Fale then flips him with a lariat. Tom twists out of a razor's edge to sleeper Fale then gets on the ropes and ddt's him. Tom running kicks Fale in the back of the knee then running knees him. Tom then knees him in the back of the head with a straightjacket on the arms and wins it.

This wasn't bad. They did a decent job of creating a situation where Tom could theoretically beat Fale and Tom did okay as the scrappy underdog..

G1 Climax 32 Block D Match - El Phantasmo vs Juice Robinson

This was embarrassing comedy with fart jokes and weapons that I was not sitting through. Juice won by DQ here.

G1 Climax 32 Block B Match - Chase Owens vs Tomohiro Ishii

Ishii shoulders him over early, pushes him then Chase pushes the ref to no DQ. Ishii forearms him out. Chase hits forearms and takes chops then Chase drops down and ranks on Ishii's leg. Chase bangs Ishii's leg off the post and continues to work on it. Ishii suplexes him then hits a chop/forearm combo in the corner. Ishii then backdrops him. Chase neckbreakers him and they go outside where chase accidentally chops the post.

Chase sunset flips Ishii's head into the rails outside. They wrestle around and Ishii germans him. Ishii delay superplexes him from the 2nd rope. Chase pumping knees him then hits a pesi twist lariat for 2. Chase spinning forearms him and hits a forearm combo then is dragon suplexed. Chase then superkicks him.

Ishii hits a stiff headbutt. They trade more moves and Ishii spinning lariats him then lariats him. Ishii then hits another lariat. Ishii sliding lariats him and Chase backslides him for 2. Chase pumping knees him and enzugiri's him. Chase then pumping knees him then package piledrivers him for the win.

They kicked out of way too much here and didn't sell much at all. Ishii should not have been going this even with Chase or losing to him and Chase shouldn't even be in NJPW.

G1 Climax 32 Block A Mtch - Kazuchika Okada vs JONAH

Jonah side headlocks him and then shoulderblocks him over. Jonah tries to run the apron and attack him but Okada side steps it. Okada ties his leg up in the rail and hits it. They go on the ramp and Jonah bodyblocks him on it. Jonah then throws him into the rails. Jonah then rams Okada's back into the rails. Jonah stands on Okada's gut inside.

Jonah hits corner spears and bearhugs him from behind to continue his work on Okada's ribs. Okada side steps a corner charge, Jonah goes into it and Okada flying euros him. Okada hits some running back elbows then ddt's him. Okada trips him into the ropes and baseball slides him. Tito threatens Okada outside then Jonah runs into Tito and Okada ddt's Jonah on the floor. Okada then tope con hilo's both of them on the floor.

Jonah spears Okada inside and sentons him for 2. Okada back body drops Jonah then shotgun dropkicks him. Jonah is sat up top and hits a top rope body block. He then lariats him for 2. Okada hits a big dropkick and slams him, then hits a top rope elbow. Okada hits a big dropkick then germans him. Jonah hits a big lariat for 2. Okada goes up top and gets powerbombed on his way down then powerbombed again. Jonah then top rope splashes him and wins it.

The ending was kind of a surprise and I don't know if this was the right ending for this. Jonah's rib work was very smart here and Okada did a good job with managing his comebacks without doing too much. I thought it lost a little of the plot near the end though. It was still a good match overall, but this had potential to be a top match this year.

Overall thoughts: The main was good and Lawlor's match was good, but Evil stunk it up as usual, Chase was in indy classic style main and Juice/ELP fooled around and made this not so good overall.
