WWE NXT 3/15/2022
We have MizTv to start the show. Why MizTv? No idea. Dolph then comes out with Robert Roode. We see clips from earlier in the day of Bron Breakker looking for Dolph and officials stopping him. Roode calls Bron a sore loser. Dolph says he is rich and loves wrestling.
LA Knight then comes out. He challenges Dolph since Bron isn't here. Dolph said he is a fighting champion but only fights superstars and tells him to leave. Miz says LA will be a major player...just not yet. LA says he isn't a superstar, but a megastar. LA says this is his show and the match gets made for tonight. Miz says the match will be awesome.
Cora Jade is interviewed. She says Toxic Attraction will have hell to pay and says she has a good feeling they will be looking for her too. She then shows that somehow she has both their women's and women's tag titles.
Ladder Match Qualifier - Cameron Grimes vs Santos Escobar
The winner of this gets a spot in the ladder match for the North American title at Stand and Deliver. Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams are on commentary. Grimes and Santos reverse each other early. Santos hits a nice dropkick and another soon after. Then he stomps and stands on him. Grimes hits some chest kicks in the corner then Escobar basement dropkicks him. Grimes hits a headscissors and LDF distracts him and leads him to getting legswept on the apron.
We come back from break and Santos does a top rope axe handle. Grimes hits a standing hurricanrana then lariats him over the top. He then flips over LdF onto Santos on the floor. Back in and Santos charges at him and Grimes turns it into a flipping slam. Grimes high kicks and superkicks him. Grimes runs at him and gets caught with a cradle shock for the Santos win.
It was fast paced and wasn't bad. It sucks to see Grimes lose again and again and I don't really get what they are doing with him.
Santos looks at Melo after and Melo gives him a thums down.
Kay Lee Ray and Io do a promo. they said they have a natural blend and htey both want to destroy Toxic Attraction. They said Wendy and Kai will be a tough team to beat an then said Toxic Attraction's title reign will come to an end.
Wendy Choo is watching and Dakota Kai walks in. Kai has some doubts but Choo said they can win. Toxic Attraction then walks in looking for Cora Jade and says they are looking for their titles. Choo says T-A is hot but weird and Kai agrees.
Ladder Match Qualifier - Kushida vs A-Kid
This is A-Kid's NXT debut. He's been a featured guy in NXT UK and is good but I don't see what he can offer except for speaking Spanish. Kid stands on his head and headscissors Kushida to get out of a wristlock. Kushida rides him and spins on top of him. Kid armdrags him then dropkicks him. Kushida does a nice throw on him and they roll around. Kid does a nice roll into a submission attempt.
Kushida slams him then crabs him. Kushida hiptosses him into a dropkick then Kid germans him. Kid does a nice northern lights suplex then does a springboard moonsault into a ddt, which he doesn't hit clean.
This was a short but good technical match. Kid looked very technically proficient here and was very smooth in the ring. Kushida looked alright too but this is a big demotion for him.
Santos Escobar did a promo with LdF. He says he is the greatest luchador of all-time and says he will win the N-A title at Stand and Deliver. Rey Mysterio and Dominic then walk in. Dom says Rey is the greatest luchador of all time and says Dominic will break records and be the next greatest. Dom then says he wants to fight and Raul Mendoza sets up a match with him.
Sarray vs Tiffany Stratton
Sarray gets jumped backstage before she transforms. Tiff rips off her necklace and Sarray stays in her schoolgirl gear. Sarray misses her dropkick through the ropes then Tiff does a handspring backflip back elbow on her, then does a corkscrew vader bomb from the buckles to win in quick fashion.
The transforming stuff is done and it raises a lot of questions about how this works since Sarray didn't transform. Additionally, the match shouldn't have really started since Sarray got nailed before it even started.
LA Knight and Gunther talk in the back. Gunther calls him an embarassment and said he doesn't see a champion in him. LA says Gunther doesn't have the charisma and says he only has the sports part of sports entertainment.
Tomasso Ciampa is headed to the ring.
He said he respects him but says he need to beat Ciampa to be the man in NXT and asks him for a match at Stand and Deliver. They shake hands and Tony low blows him. He says he will become the new don of NXT and then kisses him.
Indi Hartwell vs Persia Pirotta
They come out at the same time and keep interrupting each others entrances. Perisa hits a high kick early then drops Indi's face on the top rope. Perisa talks trash saying Dexter doesn't want to talk to her then Indi comes back with a bulldog.
Duke Hudson comes down and bothers Indi then Dexter Lumis comes out from the under the ring. Persia gets distracted and Indi picks up the win. She then jumps in Dexter's arms. All 4 get in the ring and the 2 couples each kiss. Indi then knocks Dexter down and rips off his shirt to kiss him then Persia does the same to Duke.
Gigi is in the parking lot and tries to grab one of the titles which is over a dumpster. She climbs in it to grab it then a forklift closes it with her in it. Cora then talks trash.
Raul Mendoza vs Dominic Mysterio
Then do a monkey flip spot early and Dom runs up the buckles for an armdrag. Dom then gets pulled off the other set of buckles. Dom does a springboard twisting crossbody then headscissors him. Dom goes up top and Elektra Lopez distracts him then Raul hits a handspring enzugiri. Fallon Henley then pulls her off the apron and Briggs/Jensen back her up. Rey nails Santos then Dom hits the 619. Dom then does a top rope frogsplash to win.
This was a quick one with Dom looking okay hitting a bunch of spots and lots of shenanigans. The one thing you can say about the shenanigans though is that is opens up a couple of possible new programs, so it wasn't for nothing.
They do a package on Scott Hall. As a wrestler, when he actually could perform, he was good but his non-wrestling actions left a lot to be desired. It's weird for me to see people treat Hall as a hero when they have no problem blackballing other wrestlers for allegations, yet alone actual wrongdoing.
Cora Jade is in parking lot with spray paint and the NXT Women's title. She gets in Mandy's car but Mandy is in the backseat and attacks her. Mandy says Cora is not on her level and never will be then spraypaints her back. Jacy then says, "game over b*tch".
Diamond Mine comes in the ring. They said heads will roll until they figure out who attacked them. MSK then comes out. They said they didn't do it and is mad at them for ruining their shot at the tag titles last week. They argue then Imperium appears from above. They say it's funny to see them argue over titles they will never win. MSK says anyone in this ring could beat them. Aichner says he disagrees and offers to face them both in a triple threat match. They say Imperium fears no one.
Cameron Grimes is interviewed. He says all he does is disappoint. He said the last thing he told his father is that he would be a champion and says he hasn't kept his promise and keeps disappointing.
Bivens is talking to Blade/Enofe and the Grizzled Young Vets in the back. Enofe said they attacked people last week, but they were the waiters for Toxic Attraction. Gibson of the vets is offended that they were even asked. The Creed's then walk in and the Vets said they would have attacked them 2 weeks ago if they knew they were giving out title shots.
NXT Title - Dolph Ziggler (c) vs LA Knight
LA runs him over with a shoulder to start. Dolph comes back with a headlock. Dolph eye rakes him and gets knocked out of the ring. He gets in and gets powerslammed. We go to PiP break and return with Dolph hitting a dropkick. LA gets out of a fameasser then stomps Dolph in the corner. LA then running knees him. LA powerslams him then hits a jumping elbow for 2.
We go to the parking lot and Bron Breakker arrives. LA and Dolph go up top and LA superplexes him for 2. LA hits a burning hammer and Roode puts Dolph foot on the ropes. LA charges into the ropes chest first and gets superkicked for the Ziggler win.
This was kind of short and wasn't that special. I also don't like LA losing again.
Bron's music then hits and he comes out. He says he wants his rematch at Stand and Deliver. Roode walks up to him and gets knocked out and Dolph accepts the challenge.
Overall thoughts: Not a good episode of NXT. I didn't like seeing LA Knight and Grimes look like idiots by losing, the Cora Jade/Toxic Attraction stuff was silly and I didn't like Sarray/Stratton.
