All Japan Pro Wrestling 3/7/2022 - Dream Power Series Day 1

All Japan Pro Wrestling 3/7/2022 - Dream Power Series Day 1

There's not a lot of people here and I don't think they can cheer. I covered 4 of the 6 matches.

Yoshitatsu vs. Seigo Tachibana

Seigo rushes at Yoshi and hits a bunch of forearms and boots. He gets him outside and continues, throwing him into the post. They trade more forearms out there and Yoshi suplexes him on the floor. Dan then goes into the post again.

Back in the ring and Seigo fires more shots then Yoshi stomp flurries him in the corner. Yoshi starts facewashing him then Yoshi hits some hard knees to the gut and a kick.  They trade more knees and boots and Yoshi stretches his arms back. Yoshi then russian leg sweeps him for 2.

Seigo hits some chest clubs then gets slapped and taks a hard kick. Seigo hits some forearms here and knocks him down at 5 minutes. Seigo hits more forearms and a suplex for 2. Seigo charges and gets powerslammed then takes a kick combo from Yoshi. Yoshi then dragon screws him. They trade forearms again and Yoshi enzugiri's him.

Yoshi boston crabs him then Seigo comes back with another forearm combo. He then runs into a knee and Yoshi brainbusters him for a close 2. Seigo gets rolled and his his legs split then put in a hold for the Yoshi win.

I liked this one. They didn't take the night off here and were stiff and had some fire to them. Nothing wrong with this at all.

Dan Tamura & Shotaro Ashino vs. TOTAL ECLIPSE (TAJIRI & Yusuke Kodama)

Tajiri goofs around with Dan to start. He then ikicks him straight in the butt. Kodama boots Dan in the corner then Dan knocks Kodama off the apron with a forearm. Kodama slingshot sentons Dan then Dan and Tajiri trade strikes. Tajiri suplexes him for 2.

Dan hits a shoulder on Tjairi then tags out. Ashino tries to suplex Tajiri, but he holds on to the ropes. Tajiri then holds onto Kodama to avoid the suplex then steps on Ashino's foot. Ashino overhead belly to belly's Kodama then Dan hits some shoulders on Kodama. Dan and Kodama trade forearms then Dan puts Kodama in the texas cloverleaf. Tajiri breaks it up.

Dan superplexes Kodama and Kodama rolls him up for la magistral mostly out of nowhere to win it.

This was a waste of time with Tajiri being rather lazy and undermining Dan's efforts to make this good. Ashino was maybe in there for for two minutes tops.

Evolution (Hikaru Sato & Suwama) vs. TOTAL ECLIPSE (Hokuto Omori & Ryuki Honda)

Sato and Omori trade forearms. Sato gets near the ropes and Honda lariats him. Sato gets ddt'd on the floor and Honda back elbows him inside. Sato hits some kicks on Omori but Omori quickly chinlocks him. Sato and Honda trade forearms and Honda lariats him in the corner then suplexes him.

Sato enzugiri's Honda and Suwama gets in and flying shoulders Honda. He belly to belly's him for 2. Honda hits an eh spear on Suwama  Suwama then lariats him. Sato hits some kicks on Omori then water wheel drops him for 2. Sato armbars Omori then Omori comes back with a cutter. Sato then hammerlocks him but gets german'd. Omori dragon suplexes him for 2 then hits a cross legged driver for the win.

This was kind of a waste of everyone's time. It went 10 minutes and Suwama was maybe in for 2 of those 10 minutes.

Twin Towers (Kohei Sato and Shuji Ishikawa) vs NEXTREAM (Kento Miayahara and Yuma Aoyagi)

Kento and Shuji stare down pre-match. They start off but accomplish nothing. Sato gives his opponents the finger and Yuma doesn't want in, but Kento tags him in anyway. We're 5 minutes in with no action so far and Yuma working a headlock on Sato. Yuma dropkicks Sato then Kento face kicks Shuji on the apron. Kento ddt's Sato then face kicks Shuji on the apron again. They trade forearms outside and Shuji double stomps him off the apron. Sato and Shuji double foot choke Kento at 10 min.

Sato and Kento are in there and Kento ignores Sato to trade forearms with Shuji on the apron. Kento then takes double team knees in the corner. Shuji puts Kento between the ropes and running knees him. Sato tries to piledrive Kento but can't then Yuma comes in and dropkicks him. Yuma twisting crossbodies Sato off the 2nd rope and grounded guillitines him.

Sato and Yuma trade forearms and Sato drops him. Sato falcon arrows him for 2 then PK's him for another 2. Yuma german's Sato but he no sells it and drops him with a forearm. Shuji and Kento trade forearms then Kento hits dropkicks on him. Yuma crossbodies Shuji off the top for 2 and gets his pumping knee blocked, then takes a lariat. Kento takes a knee to the gut then takes a sandwich forearm from both opponents. Yuma tries to fight them 1v2 and gets a sandwich forearm too, then piledriven by Sato.

Shuji running knees Kento then Kento comes back with a suplex. Shuji fire thunders Kento and gets a slow count for 2. Kento flying knees Shuji then hurricanrana's him for the win.

It was okay. Not the best effort and they totally wasted the first 6 minutes or so. It had an alright finishing stretch and the logic mostly made sense.

Overall thoughts: It's a house show and if anyone gives any effort, it's automatically better than a lot of house shows. Seigo/Yoshi was spirited and good and the main wasn't great, but it was fine for a house show main event.
