Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling 3/5/2022 - 2022 Winter Day 10
The Up Up Girls did their usual song and dance. Their song this week wasn't one of my favorites.
Nao Kakuta & Kaya Toribami Vs Mahiro Kiryu & Haruna Neko
Nao takes down Kiryu then Kaya does a nice forward handspring over a dropped down Neko. Neko walks the top rope and comes down on her with an eye poke. Neko flurry claws at Kaya's eyes then ties up both her arms.
Kaya does a weird japanese armdrag on Kiryu then Nao dropkicks her in the face. Kiryu and Nao trade chest forearms then Nao double bulldogs her opponents. Nao then facewash kicks Neko and ddt's her for 2.
Neko hits some chest forearms and double axe handles her for 2. Nao picks her up and throws her then Neko clotheslines her. Kiryu dropkicks Kaya then springboard forearms her. Kaya does a weird springboard flip on Kiryu for 2 then Kaya comes back with a backbreaker. Kiryu crabs Kaya but Nao breaks it up.
Neko rolls into a codebreaker on Nao then Kiryu and Kaya blow something. Kiryu hits a bad spinebuster and wins it.
Something went wrong with the finish here and that hurt the match. This was not great as you expect but it would have been passable without the bad finishing stretch.
Hyper Misao Vs Yuki Aino Vs Arisu Endo
Misao was 2v1'd to start and took a bodyslam. Endo hit a nice dropkick on Aino then was shouldered. Misao got nailed off the apron then tripped Aino. She then hugged and protected Endo who looked confused.
Misao and Endo went under the ring and when Aino looked for them, they came from behind and sprayed her in the eyes with something. Aino was then double stomped and Misao hit a crossbody on her. Endo and Misao teased a hug but Misao quickly turned on her.
Misao was caught in a crossbody by Aino and Endo dropkicked Misao's back over. Misao but Endo in the crossface chicken wing then Aino chinlocked Misao. Aino 2nd rope vader bombed Endo for 2. Misao double headlocked her opponents then banged them on her knee. She then crossbodied Aino off the 2nd rope for 2.
Aino running bulldogged Endo onto Misao. Misao put Endo halfway in la magistral, Aino charged and she pushed her out, then rolled up Endo for the win.
It wasn't great but they kept it moving and they did okay. Aino was pretty good here and Misao's a character.
Yuki Kamifuku & Hikari Noa Vs Raku & Pom Harajuku
Raku dropkicks Noa early then Noa takes a double back elbow. Pomu ties up Noa's arms then hits her in the chest and Yuki does the same to Raku. Pom gets pulled into the top rope neck first. Noa throws Pom by the pigtails then dropkicks her, then ties her up for a pin attempt.
Pom shin kicked Nao and tagged out. Raku hit a 2nd rope chop on Noa. Pom ran the buckles and armdragged Yuki from the 2nd rope. Yuki poked Pom in the eyes then hit a stiff dropkick on her. Pom then took a double stiff dropkick.
Pom shin kicked Noa then they traded chest forearms. Pom did her off the back legdrop on Noa then Raku russian legsweeped Yuki. Pom missed her off the back legdrop then dropkciked Noa in the back. Noa then hit a nice exploder on Pom for the win.
The finish was out of nowhere and this just wasn't long enough. Yuki and Raku didn't get much in at all here.
Marika armdrags her then Nodoka headlocks her. Nodoka drops double knees on her in the corner for 2 and headscissors her. Nodoka misses a crossbody then Marika comes back with a dropkick. Nodoka jumps off the 2nd rope with a bulldog then Marika put her in a king crab hold. Nodoka then rope breaked.
Marika got caught with a fallaway slam then they rolled from the top to the middle of the ring with Marika putting her back in the king crab hold. Nodoka did a very small pop-up into a samoan drop on Marika then they traded chest forearms. Marika hit a dropkick then got shouldered over. Nodoka samoan dropped her and won it.
Some people were looking for a handshake to start but we just got a nice 5v5 brawl instead. The Rabbits rolled Rika and Miu but couldn't follow up. Miu and Rika then missed a double elbow. Maki and Miyu stacked Miu and Rika on each other then Maki stood on Miyu's knees and headbutted them.
The Rabbits then did top rope dives on the outside. Moka hit a leg lariat on Suzume then Rika and Miu double elbowed Suzume. Suzume top rope crossbodied Miu but was caught and slammed. Miu then hit her with a giant swing.
Suzume springboarded from the 2nd rope onto a facebuster on Shoko. Itoh hit a headbutt on Shoko then Ito facebustered her for 2. Moka hit her karate punch on Ito's gut then karate chopped her in the gut for 2. Itoh hanging ddt'd Moka off the 2nd rope. Moka slammed Mizuki then Miu splashed Mizuki.
Mizuki headscissored Miu then rolling speared her. Miu sledgehammered Mizuki in the gut then Yuka came in and crossbodied Miu off the top for 2. Yuka slammed Mizuki on Miu then The Rabbits took swinging backbreakers from Miu and Rika. Miu threw Rika into a hip attack on Yuka then Yuka hit a sliding lariat on Rika for 2.
Yuka superplexed Rika off the top. Shoko dropkicked Miyu then hit a 619 on her. Miyu hit a nice spinning backbreaker on Shoko then hit some kicks. Miyu hit a nice lariat on Shoko then Shoko botched a tope con hilo outside and basically landed on her head.
Shoko missed a top rope senton then was drilled with a release german by Miyu. Miyu then triangle kicked her and high kicked her. Shoko hit a neat flying corkscrew clothesline then Itoh and Arai traded forearms. Itoh hit a ddt for 2 on Arai then Arai slammed her. Arai step kicked her for 2.
Arai full nelson slammed Itoh then sharpshooter'd her. Suzume crossbodied Arai off the 2nd rope then Miyu hit a stiff spin kick on Shoko. Itoh then ddt'd Arai but it was broken up. Yuka hit her spinning drop on Miu then Arai and Ito went at it more then Itoh tapped her with a lion tamer.
Itoh stares at Arai after and holds up her title at her. Everyone then gets in the ring and a bunc hof the girls get a little mic time.
This was probably the best TJPW match I've ever seen. Just 20+ minutes of everyone going fast and hitting their signature moves. They way they did it gave some of the pairs time to mix it up and feud a bit and everyone got to contribute something here. I really enjoyed this one and think it is worth a look.
Overall thoughts: I talk about it a lot but a main can make or break a show and this main made it. It's one worth going out of your way to see and really carried the show. I wouldn't bother with the rest though.
