All Japan Pro Wrestling 3/13/2022 - Dream Power Series 2022 Day 3
I'm just doing the top 3 matches here.
Shotaro Ashino and Dan Tamura vs TAJIRI and Ryuki Honda
Dan and Ashino go at it to start and Ashino grabs him by the face and throat and takes some clubs for it. Honda then stomps him to the mat then Ashino stomp flurries him back. Dan ends up having to calm down Ashino but it fails as the two keep going at it.
Tajiri throws Ashino out where Honda stomps on him. Back in and Dan hits a nice flying shoulder on Honda then Ashino running euros Honda. The two trade forearms and Ashino drops Honda. Honda then gets back up and spinebusters him. They hit running corner clotheslines on each other and Ashino hits a nice release german.
Dan hits a great top rope shoulderblock on Honda. Dan hits two hard lariats on him then Tajiri trips him up so Honda can nail him. Honda then one arm powerbombs Dan for the win.
This was a fun one with Honda and Ashino getting heated and Dan being the usual stiff wrestler. Lots of hard shots exchanged here and Tajiri was kept out of it as he should be.
Evolution (Suwama & Hikaru Sato) vs. Enfants Terribles (Hokuto Omori & Kuma Arashi)
Sato and Omori trade forearms early then Kuma and Suwama trade shoulders a little later. Kuma misses a senton and takes back kicks for it. Sato and Suwama then hit a kick/chop combo on Kuma for 2. Omori and Sato trade shots again then Kuma and Omori stand on Sato's stomach.
Sato enzugiri's Kuma then Suwama gets in and hits a flying shoulder on Kuma at 10 minutes. Suwama then belly to belly's Kuma for 2. Kuma racks Suwama then drops him back. Omori hits forearms on Suwama and he flurries him with clubs then lariats him. Sato hits some kicks on Omori then the two hold each others hand and nail each other with the other.
Omori release german's him then Kuma comes in and sentons Sato. Kuma sentons Sato off the 2nd rope and Suwama breaks the pin attempt. Suwama hits double chops on both opponents then lariats both over. Sato and Omori trade more forearms then Omori germans him for 2. Sato then ends up tapping him with an armbar to win it.
It got off to a slow start and took me out of it some. As has been happening lately, Suwama pretty much got to dominate everyone and wasn't in it much. That much wasn't that great as the heavies and the juniors mostly split off from each other and had little interaction.
NEXTREAM (Kento Miyahara, Yuma Aoyagi & Atsuki Aoyagi) vs. Shuji Ishikawa, Ryoji Sai & Yutaka Yoshie
Kento and Shuji go at it early and we get a bunch of arguing between Kento and the ref, Wada. Yuma and Sai mat wrestle then trade shots. Yuma then hits a nice dropkick on him. Atsuki and Yoshie go at it but Atsuki can't do anything to him. Yoshie takes a dropkick and easily shoulders him over.
Atsuki tries to sunset flip Yoshie but he can't and Yuma decides to kick Yoshie, dropping him on Atsuki. We then get some fights in the crowd and back in, Shuji double stomps Atsuki. Sai hits a nice chest kick on Atsuki then hits some hard back kicks. Yoshi stands on Atsuki and elbow drops him. Shuji then hits a nice abdominal stretch with the leg hooked on Atsuki.
Sai gorilla press throws Atsuki then Atsuki does a handspring back enzugiri on him and tags to Yuma (who pushes Kento out of the way for a tag). Yuma twisting crossbodies Sai off the 2nd rope then gets STO'd by him. Sai then suplexes him for 2. Yoshie sentons Yuma then corner splashes him. He ten does the same to Atsuki and running hip attacks both in the corners. Yoshie then drops a big elbow for 2.
Everyone seems to get confused over who is the legal man in and Yuma/Atsuki double dropkick Yoshie. Yoshie then spinebusters Yuma and Shuji/Kento get in to fire forearms on each other. Shuji takes corner attacks from his opponents then is held up for a top rope Yuma crossbody. Kento takes corner attacks from his opponents then a Yoshie splash for 2. Shuji running knees Kento for 2.
Kento and Yuma double knee Shuji then Kento pump knees him for a close 2. Shuji cradle backdrops Kento on his head then running knees him for 2. Shuji then hits a dangerous looking over the shoulder sitout piledriver move to win it. Shuji then drops the triple crown titles on Kento after.
This wasn't a bad main event at all with the big guys beating up on the smaller guys then eventually taking it. I liked it and even though it was 22 minutes it didn't really drag.
