New Japan Pro Wrestling 8/8/2004 - Kensuke Sasaki vs Yoshihiro Takayama

We get a staredown to start. Sasaki misses a dropkick and takes a boot to the face. They trade chops for forearms then stare down. Sasaki clubs on him then throws him into the ropes from the ramp and slams him on the ramp.

Sasaki hits a hard bolo punch and club flurry in the corner knocking Tak down. Sasaki then brainbusters him for a 1 count. They trade shots and Tak hits a hard knee to the gut knocking Sasaki down. Tak hits a light PK and stands on his chest and poses for a 2 count. Tak hits a real nice dropkick. Sasaki is on the outside ropes on the ramp then Tak runs at him and hits a flying knee, knocking both in the ring. Tak then hits another face kick.

Tak hits a butterfly suplex for 2 and running knees him to the gut. Tak hits a another face kick, gets his knee shot blocked then gets lariated down. Sasaki hits a bolo punch flurry and drops him then shoulder throws him. Tak misses a leg drop and gets kicked in the chest and sharpshootered at 10 minutes. Tak almost hits the ropes and Sasaki drops the hold.

They swing wildly with shots and trade face kicks for lariats. Tak hits a jumping knee but gets caught and slammed down then lariated. Sasaki then brainbusters him and wins it.

This wasn't a classic but it was a fun sub 13 minute slugfest. The action was fast, they hit each other hard and it as exactly what you would want from these two.
