Ice Ribbon 3/16/2022 - Club Ice Ribbon Match Volume 1

Ice Ribbon 3/16/2022 - Club Ice Ribbon Match Volume 1

Yappy and the announcer Chiharu are kind of the hosts of this. Yappy talks in mostly fluent English and Japanese and Chiharu talks in Japanese only...so this is a unique team to say the least. They mostly stick with the Japanese so I fast forwarded.

There is no crowd here which sucks.

Totoro Satsuki vs Kaho Matsushita

Tsukasa Fujimoto is the ref.

No entrance for either girl here. They shake hands and Kaho rolls her up and tries other pin attempts for 2. Kaho tries to shoulder battle her but loses. Kaho hits a dropkick then ties her up in the ropes and dropkicks her. Kaho then stretches her and stands on her back.

Totoro comes back and sits on her back and pulls her neck. Totoro then stands on her back again. Totoro kicks Kaho in the back then Tsukasa snapmares Totoro and kicks her in the back. They trade forearms and Kaho side slams her for 2. Kaho puts her in a figure four variation and Totoro hits the ropes.

Kaho top rope dropkicks her for 2 then Totoro comes back with a suplex. Totoro then crabs her and Kaho hits the ropes for a break. Totoro slams Kaho then splashes her for 2. Totoro forward rolling fireman's carries her then sentons her off the 2nd rope for the win.

Not bad. Totoro used her size like usual and Kaho got what she could in. I didn't like Tsukasa getting involved though and the situation really didn't even call for it.

Totoro gets on the mic after and she apparently said it's her time, she hasn't fought against Kaho before and she wants to get to the top of Ice Ribbon. Kaho then gets on the mic and says Totoro is her senpai and this was their first singles match. Kaho then leaves and returns to say she wants a match with Tsukasa.

Yuki Mashiro vs Tsukushi Haruka

Totoro is the ref here.

Tsu flips out of a wristlock early then Yuki rolls through her wristlock. Tsu headscissors her then Yuki headstands out. They then do more quick reversals and stand off.

Tsu hairflips Yuki and waves and Yappy yells at her to not stand on her in the corner. Tsu then stomps on her fingers and Yappy yells at her to stop. Yuki twirls her around then hits some dropkicks. She then crippler crossfaces her but Tsu ropebreaks.

Tsu ties her up in the ropes then dropkicks her while she's in there. Tsu goes up top and Yuki pulls her down then keylocks her but Tsu ropebreaks. They trade forearms and Tsu stunners her. Tsu misses a rope dropkick then Yuki gives her a weaker one back. Yuki then armbars her over the top rope.

Yuki crossbodies her from the 2nd buckle then misses some eye poke attempts. Tsu then rolls her back and double stomps her. Tsu double stomps her back for 2 then Yuki rolls her up and double stomps her. More pinfall attempts here and Tsukushi finally secures it for the win.

This was pretty good. It was super fast paced and Yuki looked as good as she ever has here. Yappy was real good on commentary here too.

Tsukushi is interviewed after. She said she didn't want to go to a draw here as she just went to a draw recently. She says Yuki is improving and says she is going to work hard in her title match against SAKI. Yuki is interviewed after. She said she almost took it to a draw and thanks us.

Asahi & Tsukasa Fujimoto vs. Kiku & Nao Ishikawa

Tsukushi is the ref here.

Nao and Kiku rush them and attack. Tsukushi then dropkicks Tsukasa in the corner and poses on her as they say congrats on her getting married. Tsukasa hits her then Tsukushi rolls her up and double stomps her.

Asahi hair throws Nao and her and Tsuka choke her over the bottom rope. Asahi uses the 2nd rope to headlock takeover Nao. Tsuka camel clutches Nao then Asahi wipes Nao's face with a dirty rag. Nao slams Tsuka and Tsuka/Kiku trade dropkicks. Tsuka hair throws her then Tsuka and Asahi stand on Kiku in the corner then do a double cutter.

Kiku gets tied up in the ropes by Tsuka and Tsukushi tries to stop it but gets kicked away. Everyone fights outside then Nao and Kiku get wrapped up in the ring mats and stood on. Then they are put in holds and tied up in the metal posts. Back in the ring and Tsuka hits some back kicks on Kiku then Kiku makes a comeback.

Tsuka takes some bad kicks and a dropkick then Nao hits some shoulderblocks and crossbodies her. Nao and Tsuka trade forearms then dropkicks. Tsuka puts Nao in the heavenly lock then Nao comes back with a backdrop for 2. Asahi gets in and juping butt drops her then gets back dropped. Nao then hits a cartwheel splash for 2.

Asahi hits a dropkick then her and Tsuka hit double dropkicks. Nao runs up to the 2nd buckle and crossbodies her. Kiku hits some chest kicks on Asahi then Asahi puts her in a rings of saturn on the mat. Tsuka and Asahi hit double 619's on Kiku then Kiku hits a neckbreaker on Asahi for 2. Kiku does an awful pele kick on Asahi's back for 2 then does a sharpshooter + double arm hold but Tsuka breaks it. Tsuka dropkicks both opponents then they dropkicks both opponents in the corner. Asahi then hits a double wrist clutch northern lights suplex and wins it.

This was a very fast paced match. I didn't like the ref stuff at the beginning, but that's Ice Ribbon. I though this wasn't bad at all with Asahi looking good.

Tsuka and Asahi are interviewed after. Tsuka says Asahi is the future of wrestling and they touch and talk about Asahi's calf muscles. They talk about Asahi's costume which is Tsuka's old costume. Asahi's uncle apparently bought this as it was sold in an online auction. Asahi could not wear the leg covers though as he legs are too big. They congratulate Tsuka on her marriage and make jokes about no one wanting to marry her.

Nao and Kiku are interviewed. Kiku said she thought she could win but didn't prevail. She also said she had fun as she teamed with Nao for the first time. Nao said that she debuted in a no spectators match and now she is back at it again. She said everyone was her senior before but now she is the senior of some wrestlers. She said she thought Yuki drew with Tsukushi earlier and thought she should work harder because they have the same level of experience and she doesn't want to fall behind.

They talk about some upcoming shows and news after. All the girls then give Tsuka flowers for getting married.

Overall thoughts: The 3 matches were all fine and Yappy did a good job on commentary. It was an interesting show and was like if Japan did a 70's era territory style wrestling shows.
