Big Japan Pro Wrestling 3/6/2022

BJW only has one hardcam set up for this. While it can capture almost all of the action, it can't really zoom in enough to get better shots. The crowd isn't allowed to cheer for this and doesn't seem like they want to anyway. BJW interestingly changes the mat between deathmatch and normal bouts due to mats getting ruined.

Weapon Bringing Deathmatch - Ryuji Ito & Yuko Miyamoto vs GSHOCK1010 (Akira Hyodo & Kankuro Hoshino)

G-Shock brings cement blocks and they warm up with sentons on them. Yuko brings a bat and Ito brings a kendo stick. G-Shock gets hit after the sentons on the blocks then gets double dropkicked. Ito puts some chairs on Hyodo then chairs them, then throws one at Hoshino. Hyodo then is slammed on a chair for 2.

Ito chairs Hyodo hard in the back and northern lights suplexes him for 2 then Hyodo comes back with a samoan drop. Hoshino gets in and lariat/bulldogs Yuko and Ito. Hoshino puts a chair on Ito then sentons it for 2. Ito then throws a chair at his head.

Yuko gets in and overhead suplexes Hoshino then Hoshino comes back with an STO. Cement blocks get set up and Hoshino gets back body dropped on them. Hyodo gets in and puts a cement block on Yuko's back, then breaks it with another block. He then puts cement blocks on Yuko's stomach and sentons them for 2.

Hyodo goes for a gutbuster by Yuko gets out then standing moonsaults him. Yuko then razors edge's him. Hoshino blocks a Yuko baseball bat shot then takes the bat to the butt and a kendo stick to the back. Ito hits a top rope frogsplash on Hoshino and wins it.

This was short and there really wasn't much to it at all except for the usual cement block play from Hyodo and Hoshino.

Fluorescent Lighttubes Death Match - Abdullah Kobayashi & Jaki Numazawa vs. Drew Parker & Minoru Fujita

Parker comes out with his usual bird's head mask. Jaki comes out in a suit, tie and townhat. One of the tubes structures is set up like an X and the other is set up 3 by 3. They go at it right after intros and people are getting choked.

Jaki has wrenches and is stabbing Parker with them then bangs one into another on Drew's head. Drew gets choked with a rope and Jaki hits him with the cowbell on it. Jaki then Abby hit the cowbell with something while it's on Drew's nuts. Abby chops tubes on Drew's back and chest. The two headbutt battle each other then Drew kicks Abby in the nuts. He then headbutts tubes on Abby's head which is dumb.

Fujita comes in and ddt's Abby for 2. Jaki gets in and bulldogs him then shotgun dropkicks him. Fujita then spears him for 2. Drew gets some offense on Jaki but gets powerbombed onto the X shaped tube structure. Jaki then ddt's Drew for another 2. Drew then runs at Jaki and jumps  on him, crashing him through the other tube structure.

Fujita comes in and runs at Abby with tubes, breaking them. He then tombstones Jaki and Drew sentons Jaki for the win.

This wasn't anything special. They only have one camera for this and you could barely see a lot of the stuff at the top. It was quick and there wasn't a lot to it except for a couple tube and nut shots.

Kota Sekifuda & Tatsuhiko Yoshino vs. Chicharito Shoki & Kosuke Sato

Kota armdrags Shoki early then takes a flying headscissors and a single leg dropkick. Sato and Yoshino shoulderblock each other and use the momentum to go back into the ropes and do it again. Sato then hits a nice dropkick. Yoshino hurricanrana's then plancha's him. Shoki then hits a tope con hilo and Kota hits a tornillo.

Kota hiptosses Sato into a splash. Sato gets double back elbowed then takes a combination ending in a basement dropkick. Sato and Yoshino trade forearms and Yoshino mocks Sato, then gets dropkicked for it. Sato then brainbusters Kota. Shoki fights off his opponents 1v2 with forearms then Shoki bulldogs Yoshino. Yoshino tries to distract him by pointing then Shoki kicks him. Shoki then distracts him and kicks him. Yoshino then gets some shots in to win that exchange.

Kota cutters Shoki over the ropes. The two trade chops then forearms and Kota cutters Shoki for 2. Sato michinoku drivers Yoshino and Kota takes two corner dropkicks. Shoki then PK's Kota for 2 at 10 minutes. Kota hits a codebreaker and holds him down for a Yoshino top rope senton. Kota then puts Shoki in the cobra clutch and tries to sweep him but is rolled up for 2. Shoki hits la mistic then rolls up Kota for the win.

This was a fun one with Yoshino and Shoki trying to trick each other and the action generally being fast paced. Shoki's small but he's entertaining and has some personality. Shoki then points at Kota's Jr. title and seems to want a shot.

Masaya Takahashi & Takuho Kato vs. Kazumasa Yoshida & Takumi Tsukamoto

Takumi cartwheels out of a wristlock early. Yoshida shoulders down Kato then Kato comes back with a bulldog. Kato then hits a slam and an elbow for 2. Yoshida hits some chest clubs then takes some chest chops back. Takumi comes in and hits more chops on Kato, including a flying double chop. Kato then comes back with a suplex on him.

Kato knocks him over with a shoulder for 2 then Masa comes in and flipping sentons on him. The two trade forearms and Masa hip throws him. Yoshida knocks Kato off the apron when he gets in and throws Masa off the top. Masa comes back and ddt's him then Kato comes in and fallaway slams him. Takumi and Masa get headed with chops then Masa tazmission's Yoshida for the win.

Masa and Takumi were okay but this really wasn't anything special or interesting and ended at a little over 10 minutes. Yoshida was super wooden here and quite lame to watch.

Ryota Hama, Takuya Nomura & Yasufumi Nakanoue vs. Kazuki Hashimoto, Kazumi Kikuta & Kohei Sato

Sato tries to throw Hama but gets thrown. He then bows and tags out. Not much happens then Naka and Kikuta trade forearms before Kikuta eye rakes him. Naka then gets put on the floor and his opponents all line up to kick his back. Naka gets beat on in the corner then Kikuta spin kicks him in the gut. Naka and Sato trade forearms. Sato gets backdropped and Hama gets in.

He knocks his opponents off the apron then splashes Sato in the corner. He then hits a stiff running hip attack to the face on him. Hama misses a splash and Kikuta tries come chest thrusts on him but gets lariated and elbow dropped.

Nomura finally gets in after having worked earlier in the day for Zero-1. He hits some forearms on Kikuta and capture suplexes him for 2. The two trade forearms and strikes then Nomura dropkicks him. Kikuta comes right back with a fisherman's suplex for 2 at 10 minutes. Naka lariats Kazuki then vader bombs him for 2. The ring gets very loose for a second and makes a loud sound. Sato falcon arrows Naka then Kazuki PK's him for 2. Naka and Kazuki trade forearms and Naka hits a big lariat on him. The ref goes to count and just stops on the obvious three, then Naka lariats him again and wins it.

The finish was botched here, the ring almost broke and the match wasn't too good. Naka took almost all the offense for some odd reason and him and Kikuta were in the match the majority of the time.

It took them about 20 minutes to fix the ring.

BJW Tag Team Title Match - Strong BJ (Daisuke Sekimoto & Yuji Okabayashi) (c) vs. Okami (Daichi Hashimoto & Hideyoshi Kamitani)

Oka beats Daichi in a test of strength with one hand. Kami headlocks Sek. 5 minutes in and we have seen very little action. Sek atomic drops Daichi then Oka comes in. Daichi hits some forearms on him and Oka challenges him for more, then chops him down. Oka slams him then Sek stomps Daichi in the corner. Daichi forearm combos Sek and gets slammed.

Daichi hits some forearms then Oka takes him down with one chop. Daichi then dropkicks him. Kami gets in and hits some shoulders then running shoulders Yuji in the corner at 10 minutes. He then running shoulders Yuji in the back while he is on his knees. Yuji then comes back with a suplex.

Sek hits a hard running spear on Kami in the corner then does a hard running shoulder spear to him while he is stuck between buckles. Daichi gets in and hits some chest kicks to Sek then Sek shoulders him. Daichi then hits a running forearm for 2. Sek then shoulderblocks Daichi back.

Sek hits a lariat with his weaker arm then takes a hard uranage. Sek then gives him his own uranage. Oka gets in and hits corner lariats on Daichi at 15 minutes then crabs him. Oka and Sek double lariat Daichi then both hit splashes. Oka tries to powerbomb Daichi but can't and gets lariated by Kami for it. Kami then top rope elbow dropped Oka for 2. Oka came back with a powerslam for 2.

Oka and Sek stereo torture racked their opponents then Kami and Oka traded chops. Oka cahrged into a superkick then took a running knee in the corner and a Kami shoulder for 2. Oka ran through a double lariat then double lariated both opponents at 20 minutes.

Sek and Oka hit running corner lariats on Kami then Kami was top rope powerslammed by Yuji for 2. Sek tried to german Daichi but couldn't then Oka german'd Sek and Daichi. Kami and Oka traded lariats then Oka ran him over with one for 2. Oka went up top and Kami superplexed him. Oka no sold it then ran into a lariat for 2. Sek and Kami traded forearms then Kami waffled him with a hard shoulder. Daichi hit a shining wizard on Sek then Oka took a high/low for 2. Oka then got backdropped by Kami for the win.

The first few minutes of this were very boring. They took off though and the match was okay. I didn't like Oka's no selling or the double german suplex spot near the end. Kamitani's been at this for 10 years now and he still doesn't really have the offense you should have for these bigger matches and Daichi is just not a great worker, though he did okay here. I don't think this was anyone's best match and I don't think anyone really went out of their way to do something special here.

Overall thoughts: Not a real good one. The crowd couldn't cheer and wasn't that into it and the card was not that good. The two opening matches were too short, the semi-main had a bunch of issues and the main was okay, just not is a real memorable one.
