Ice Ribbon 2/26/2022 - New Ice Ribbon #1182 RE:BORN 2022

Someone finally uploaded this one. This had been a small holy grail for a lot of joshi fans over the last few weeks as this show cost $25-$30 to see live and nobody wanted to drop the bread for this one.

There's no commentary and no graphics but there are a couple of cameras at least. The crowd still isn't allowed to cheer.

Saori Anou & Totoro Satsuki vs. Yukari Hosokawa & Yuki Mashiro

Anou challenges Yuki to a test of strength and Yuki has to jump to reach it. Yuki facebusters her then camel clutches her. Yukari and Totoro go at it then Totoro stands on her back. Anou crabs Yukari and Yukari axe kicks her in the back, which Anou does back to her.

Yuki comes in and hits dropkicks. Anou blocks her eye poek attempts and tries to force her to poke herself in the eye. Anou then starts poking her in the eye. Anou face kicks her through the ropes and perfectplexes her for 2. Totoro charges Yuki in the corner with a lariat then Totoro slams her butt into her face. Yuki then comes back with an eye poke and a dropkick.

Yukari comes in and crossbodies Totoro a few times. Yuki and Yukari double stomp Totoro's feet. Anou bridges over Yukari's back and pulls her neck then Totoro lifts Anou for added pressure. Yuki crossbodies Totoro off the 2nd rope then Yukari crossbodies her off the top. Totoro hits a crossbody on Yukari then sentons her for 2. Totoro then splashes her for the win.

This went a little long and would have been better with a few less minutes on it. I generally liked this though with Totoro and Yuki being entertaining.

Cherry & Kiku vs. Nao Ishikawa & Rina Amikura

Kiku and Nao lock up and their partners try to push them so they could win it. Nao and Rina pose then do bad splashes on their opponents. They then force Kiku and Cherry to do their taunt. Cherry and Kiku splash both opponents in the corner then do their own taunt on them.

Nao slams Kiku and Kiku dropkicks Rina. Kiku tries a figure four on Ria but loses her legs while applying it. Kiku is in the upside down tree of woe and Rina splashes her then sentons her. Kiku dropkicks Rina for 2.

Cherry and Rina go at it and Rina hits a bad spinning chop to the gut. She and Nao double shoulder and elbow Cherry. Rina then side suplexes Cherry for 2. Nao corner splashes Cherry then cartwheels into a splash on her for 2. Nao cartwheels through a lariat from Cherry.

Rina and Cherry end up double clotheslining Nao then Cherry throws Rina on top of Nao and double stomps Rina's back. Rina and Nao get whipped into each other but spin around and splash their opponents in the corner. Nao backdrops Kiku for 2 then Kiku neckbreakers Nao. Kiku then does some weird arm trapping neckbreaker then Nao and Rina double splash Kiku. Noa hits a swining sitout spinebuster for 2 and then reverses Kiku's weird neckbreaker for the win.

The moves did not look too great here but Nao and Rina have some charisma that helped make up for it.

Maya Yukihi, Ram Kaicho & Saran vs. Banny Oikawa, Yappy & Yuko Sakurai

Yappy has one of the worst haircuts I have ever seen. The one side of her head is shaved and dyed blonde, why the other side is long, black and red. Saran gets put between the buckes and Yappy splashes her. Yuko and Banny tie Saran up then Yappy wants to stand on Saran's back but the girls beg her not to. Yappy then gets in front and poses.

Banny throws Saran around and foot chokes her, then camel clutches her. Yappy then puts Saran her in her butt while Yuko pulls the leg. Banny then kicks Saran hard in the back.

Yappy does more butt shots to Saran. Ram gets in and crossbodies all 3 opponents then Banny ddt's her. Yuko cobra twists Ram but Maya breaks it up. Ram then dropkicks Yuko in the chest. Maya gets in and hits some kicks to Yuko and they trade shots. Yuko suplexes Maya and uses Banny's feet to kick her, then throws Banny on her. Yappy does more butt shots and hits a bronco buster over the lower rope on Maya. She then legdrops her for 2.

Maya pk's Yappy for 2 and Saran tries dropkicks on Yappy but doesn't hurt her much. Saran gets on Yappy's back to choke her. Yappy elbow slices Saran for 2 and Maya breaks it up. Ram codebreakers Yuko and takes a big lariat from Yappy. Yappy then has Saran's stomach over her shoulder and drops her to the side. Yappy goes for a chokeslam and Saran hits a roll-up for 2 that is counted as 3. Everyone is confused and Saran cries before jumping around with Maya and Ram.

This really wasn't bad at all except for the botched finish. It made sense with Saran getting picked on though since it was only a little over 10 minutes, the girls didn't get much time.

Asahi & Kaho Matsushita vs. galaxyPunch! (Hikari Shimizu & SAKI)

Asahi and Kaho criss cross to start and run the ropes diagonally. Hikaru and Shimizu don't know what to do so they sit down and get basement dropkicks. Hikari crossbodies Asahi then Asahi takes a double team move sequence. Saki stretches Asahi and holds her up in the air with her legs while pulling her arms.

Kaho hits some dropkicks on Saki then gets bridged on the top rope. Saki then kicks her up there. Saki tries to surfboard Kaho but gets immediately dropkicked. Saki sunset flips Kaho off the 2nd rope then does a reverse rocking horse on her. Kaho accidentally forearms her own partner and is rolled up.

Kaho is seated on the mat and takes some running moves from both opponents. Hikari hits some back kicks then Kaho hits a bunch of running dropkicks on Hikari. Kaho forearm flurries Hikari in the chest then gets slammed. Hikari then PK's her for 2.

Asahi and Hikari trade chest forearms. Asahi sits on her arm for an armbar and grabs her legs along with it, but Hikari hits the ropes. Asahi botches a 619. Asahi goes up top and is high kicked by Hikari from the 2nd rope. Hikari throws her down then running kicks her in the face for 2. Kaho corssbodies both opponents but gets caught and Asahi dropkicks her to send them back. Saki hits a suplex but is rolled up for 2.

We get some ugly looking roll-ups then Hikari gets double dropkicked. Saki takes a double team on a sideslam then takes two top rope dropkicks for 2. Asahi northern lights suplexes Saki for 2 then takes a michinoku driver for 2. Saki spinning slams her then throws up her partner for a botched double stomp on Asahi. Saki hits a face kick then a running suplex for the win.

It got a little messy near the end but this was a decent match. It went close to 15 minutes and while Saki is far better than anyone here, Asahi did a good job as the underdog.

International Ribbon Tag Team Title Match - Hamuko Hoshi & Ibuki Hoshi (c) vs. Makoto & Tsukasa Fujimoto

Makoto hits a big boot on Ham to start then Ham armdrags her. Tsuka throws Ibuki by the hair then gets it back. Tsuka takes some corner splashes then the Hoshi family rams their butts into her. Ham then dropkicks her as Tsuka is tied up in the ropes.

Ham goes up top and crossbodies her opponents to the outside then Ibuki does the same. Ibuki then hits a lightning spiral for 2 on Tsuka. Makoto does a nice hair throw on Ibuki then camel clutches her. Tsuka knocks Ibuki down with chops and Makoto drops double knees on Ibuki. Ibuki crossbodies Makoto and Ham gets back in.

Makoto hits a bunch of shots on Ham's stomach and Ham hits a nice lariat. Ibuki splashes Makoto then knocks her down with a shoulder. Ham gets on Ibuki's back and they splash Makoto. Makoto hits a nice pump kick on Ibuki for 2 then hits a nice release butterfly suplex. She then cartwheel double knee drops her for 2. Ibuki and Tsuka then trade double chest chops then regular chops.

Ibuki chops her opponents 1v2 then top rope crossbodies Tsuka for 2. Tsuka hits some kicks to the back then PK's her a couple times for 2. Ibuki then takes a double kick and they try it on Ham, but Ham ducks and lariats them both. Ibuki TKO's Tsuka for 2.

Ham and Tsuka trade shots and Ibuki grabs Tsuka's leg when she tries to kick Ham. Ham hits Tsuka with a shining stomach attack then Tsuka double dropkicks her opponents. Tsuka taks a double superplex off the top then Ham death valley drivers Tsuka for 2. Ham splashes Tsuka off the top for 2 then Tsuka climbs on her and hits a side sunset bomb. Tsuka gets her ocean cyclone suplex blocked by Ham and they try pins on each other. Ham botches a headscissors on Tsuka and wins it.

It was alright but it ran a little long with this crowd and I didn't think it had enough flow to it. They just traded moves too much instead of one team getting the advantage over the other and the finish was sloppy which hurt it.

The Hoshi family poses after and Tsuka/Makoto turn their backs on them but they eventually bow together.

ICExInfinity Title - Tsukushi Haruka (c) vs Maika Ozaki

Maika attacks her with lariats to start then TH comes back with a christo. TH ties her up in the ropes then dropkicks her in the back. TH hair throws her then dropkicks her as she sits against the bottom buckle. TH gets caught on a crossbody and fallaway slammed. TH then comes back with a spinning headscissors and does a tope on her outside. TH gets rammed into the post then Maika racks her and walks around the ring with her on her shoulders. Maika then dumps her and running sentons her off the apron.

Maika splashes her in the corner and sliding lariats her in the back of the head. Maika picks her up and gets spinning ddt'd then dropkicked through the ropes. TH then dropkicks her off the top for 2. Maika racks her again then single leg crabs her. Maik hits karelin's lift and gets a good throw on her due to the size differences. She then tries to sent on her off the 2nd rope but gets caught with knees.

TH bounces her off the ropes and germans her then takes a sitout bomb. They trade forearms and TH starts flurrying on her with them. Maika had her on her shoulders then TH turned it into an armdrag then laid on Maika's back and did an interesting looking submission.

TH went up top and Maika side suplexed her. Maika then went up top and TH crucifixed drivered her for 2. TH top rope double stomped her for 2 and Maika hit a bunch of short arm lariats, tiring both girls out. Maika hit a release muscle buster suplex for 2. TH is back up though not too long after and hits multiple double stomps. TH then hurricanrana's her body from the 2nd rope and wins it.

I didn't like this one that much. These matches are just tough with crowds who can't really cheer. They sometimes played up the size differences which would have been the easy story here, but Tsukushi kept getting a lot in. The selling wasn't too great and the finish was not built up to well.

Overall thoughts: The top two matches weren't the best but I did like the undercard.
