Mid-States Wrestling 4/30/2025 Season 3, Episode 1

Mid-States Wrestling 4/30/2025 Season 3, Episode 1

MSW is back. They are only showing one match a week though.

Moe King vs Moonshine Mantell

They lock up and Moe shoves him back. Moe back elbows him and hits punches. Moe hits a bunch of shots then armdrags him out of the casadora. Moe dropkicks his leg, making his face bang off the apron. Moe is swept on the apron and goes face first into it.

Moe is hung upside down on the ropes on the outside and Moon chops him twice. Moon clubs him then chops him down. We go to break and return. Moon hits a high back body drop. Moon hits a corner lariat and a big belly to belly suplex.

Moe fights back with punches. Moon facekicks him then chokes him on the ropes. Moon drops him with a forearm. Moon chops him. Moe hits a step up enzugiri to the arm then Moe crucfixies him. Moon spinebusters him.

Moon sitout powerbombs him. Moon misses a corner charge. Moe hits dropkicks then flying back elbows him. Moe hits running forearms in the corner. Moe enzugiri's him from the apron then springboard crossbodies him. Moe superkicks him for 2.

Moon pops him up and hits a nasty alabama slam to win.

Thoughts:
Moe is about half of Moon's size and didn't full hit on everything so it wasn't perfect. Moe had the right idea though and did come off as a likeable underdog face. Moon was good at using his size and throwing Moe down hard. This got enough time and I liked it, but it had some room for improvement.

Overall thoughts: There was only one new match this show, which appears to be the way things will be going forward. It's better than nothing, and nothing is what we had for almost a year. I liked the one match we got but it is nothing you need to go out of your way to see.

Mid-States Wrestling 7/26/2024 Season 2, Episode 19

Mid-States Wrestling 7/26/2024 Season 2, Episode 19

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/07/mid-states-wrestling-7192024-season-2.html

Toxic Masculinity do a promo. They say they have proved they are the best team around. They said they started to wonder what else is out there. They say it's time they go their separate ways for now and see what they can do on their own. Johnny Lightning walks about winning the the battle royal for a title shot but says he won't say which title he will go for. Johnny Dynamite says Duke Cornello is a tough guy but he will not be a victim.

"Copperhead" Duke Cornello vs Johnny Dynamite

They lock up and Duke slaps him. JD hits some punches and chest slaps him. JD back elbows him then elbow drops him. JD flying lariats Duke. Duke throws JD into the post shoulder first.

Duke kicks JD in the chest while he's over the 2nd rope. Duke hits punches. JD hits corner lariats on Duke then Duke release germans him on his neck.

Duke body scissors him. JD fights back with shots and is pulled down backwards. Duke brainbusters him for 2. JD sunset flips Duke as he charges in and wins.

Thoughts:
It was an average match and it was fine for what it was. Duke is a decent rougher type of heel that reminds me of WCW's Royal Family.

Jason Jones and Michael Barry do a promo. They say they are Team Old School. Barry says he hasn't been around for a while and is happy to be back. Jimmy Hart shows up behind them. He says The Fraternity won't graduate tonight and it'll be unbelievable. Jason says they will win the tag titles as they are old school.

Mid-States Wrestling Tag Titles - The Fraternity (Cannonball Matthews and Alan Franklin) vs Team Old School (Jason Jones and Michael Barry)

Jimmy Hart is managing Team Old School and Wrex Amadeus is with The Fraternity. Alan doesn't want this match to happen and is protesting it. The crowd chants "chicken" at him. Barry goes after him and Alan goes out of the ring. Alan teases going to the back but Jimmy Hart threatens them with his megaphone.

Jason slingshots Alan in then hits punches. CM tags in and takes punches from Jason. Jason hits elbows on both then makes CM elbow Alan. Barry hits shots on CM then makes CM ddt Alan. Barry hits shots on both opponents. Wrex comes in and is thrown out. Barry lariats Alan.

Barry slams CM then the ref ejects Wrex. Alan runs at Barry and is thrown over the top. The ref isn't looking and CM nails Barry with a clipboard. CM clubs on Barry then Barry is clubbed on by both. Alan foot chokes Barry.

Barry is on CM's knee and Alan double axe handles him off the buckles. Barry powerbombs Alan then is lariated by CM while he looks for the tag. Barry jawbreakers CM then is powerslammed. CM elbow drops Barry. CM catapults Alan into a lariat on Barry. Barry gets his neck and head pulled forward by Alan.

Alan is crotched on the buckles. Barry superplexes Alan. Barry cutters Alan then hits a german on CM. Jason is taged in He hits shots on the heels then corner lariats both opponents. CM is thrown into Alan then Alan falls down and headbutts him in the crotch on the fall. Wrex Amadeus in a mask gets on the apron. Jimmy Hart pulls him down then Barry nails CM with Hart's megaphone. Barry then gets the win.

Thoughts: I didn't like the finish here as faces shouldn't cheat. I also didn't like some of the early moves here where they would force one heel to do a move on the other. Those never look good. I did like the general idea of this though and The Fraternity were excellent as usual. Alan did a nice job working the crowd and they did exactly what they were supposed to do. Barry had to win here as he was making his return but The Fraternity were on a great run and I hate to see them lose the titles. I'd give it a good rating overall but it could have been great with a few fixes.

Overall thoughts: There were only two new matches as usual. The main event was good and could have been great with a few fixes. The opener was average.

This is the Season 2 series finale, so the show will probably be off for a few weeks until they can tape some new footage. For Season 3, I'd really like to see some storylines. Storylines are what weekly wrestling is all about and the show just doesn't have many outside of basic heel and face stuff and that needs to change.

Mid-States Wrestling 7/19/2024 Season 2, Episode 18

Mid-States Wrestling 7/19/2024 Season 2, Episode 18

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/07/mid-states-wrestling-7122024-season-2.html

Austin Mulitalo vs Johnny Lightning is tonight as is Noelle vs Kelsey Magnolia.

Austin Mulitalo and Stephen E do a promo. E says they will win tonight vs Johnny Lightning. Austin says he has no chance of beating him.He says this is the singles division and not tag division. He says he rules all here.

Johnny Lightning does a promo. He says he has a trick or two up his sleeve for tonight.

Austin Mulitalo vs Johnny Lightning

JL lays on the ropes. Stephen E is with Austin and the crowd chants "Stephanie" at him, putting his first name and last initial together. JL pushes him down to the mat on the double knuckle lock. They trade wristlocks.

Austin grabs the hair and knees him in the corner. JL pulls him out of the ring and chops him outside. They get back in and Austin stomps on him in the corner. Austin hits corner spears and bangs JL's head off the buckles. JL bangs Austin's head off the buckles.

JL sunset flips him for 2 and Austin flatliners him. Austin headlock takeovers him. JL headscissors him. Austin cravates him and tells him that he sucks.

JL neckbreakers him and atomic drops him. JL slams him then hits a top rope elbow drop. Stephen E gets on the apron. JL is distracted and Austin ddt's him. Austin then gets the pin.

Thoughts: It was a basic match here with simple work. There was nothing wrong with it and it was fine for what it was.

Kelsey Magnolia talks. She says she takes on Noelle tonight. She says they have a history together. she says Noelle has come a long way but she is concerned she is going down the wrong path. She says she knows who she is and says this version of her is not her. She says she will try to correct the path she is on and use physicality to do it if she has to. She says she will not let her walk all over her.

Noelle does a promo. She says Kelsey dragged her out as she wants another beating and laughs.

Kelsey Magnolia vs Noelle

Noelle immediately goes out to stall. She offers a test of strength then pulls away. Noelle piefaces her hten KM hits forearms and chops. KM goes up and over then armdrags her. KM armlocks her.

KM armbreakers Noelle then corner clotheslines her. KM hiptosses her then slams her. Noelle goes out to stall again. Noelle throws her down backwards then kneels on her in the corner. Noelle headscissors KM then full-nelsons her. KM boots her and footchokes her.

KM hits forearms. Noelle leg lariats her on the ropes. Noelle misses a charge and is rolled up. Noelle stomps on her. KM hits forearms and chest clubs. Noelle chops her then hits more boots. Noelle misses a meteora in the corner then is neckbreakerd over the middle rope.

KM lariats her then hits a bad michinoku driver. Noelle bites KM's elbow. KM fisherman suplexes her and wins it.

Thoughts: I was skeptical about it on paper and it didn't deliver. Noelle's offense didn't look good here at all and Kelsey had to try and carry things. It was a women's match and it was not very good.

Overall thoughts: There were only two matches here. One was average and the other wasn't good. As usual, nothing was really set for next time either. I wouldn't recommend this one.

Mid-States Wrestling 7/12/2024 Season 2, Episode 17

Mid-States Wrestling 7/12/2024 Season 2, Episode 17

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/07/mid-states-wrestling-752024-season-2.html

Kelsey Magnolia is supposed to be interviewed. Someone named Noelle runs up to her. Kelsey complains that she follows her everywhere she goes and it seems like she is stalking her.

MSW Kansas Heavyweight Title - Burt Cameron (c) vs Donovan Era

Era and Burt lock up. Era side headlocks him. Burt spinebusters him. Burt hits knees to the gut. Era hits a knee to the body and stomps on him. Era chinlocks him and roughs him up a bit. Burt tries to get out of a suplex and both fall down. Era hits a northern lights bomb for 2.

Era hits mounted shots then michinoku drivers him. Era is thrown into the buckles chest first then Burt hits a big spear. Burt twisting brainbusters him and wins.

Thoughts: It was a quick one that didn't get enough time. Era wasn't too bad a rough heel here. I liked Burt's spear but the match wasn't much.

Gary Roosevelt Gram does a promo. he says he's defending his title against Scott Hansen. He's not worried about him or his manager Stephen E., as he has two fists.

Stephen E. and Scott Hansen do a promo. E says when he puts his mind to something, it happens. He says he got Scott a shot at Gary. E says the belt will come home to them. Scott says him and Scott have a history over the title belt. Scott says he will walk away victorious tonight and says it's not a threat, but a promise.

Southern Heavyweight Title - Gary Roosevelt Gram vs Scott Hansen

Gary has his usual wild entrance and swings his chain around. Scott punches Gary on the handshake attempt. Scott flying shoulders him. Gary hiptosses him and Scott goes out. Scott is swept on the ropes and Gary elbows him as he hangs off the apron. Gary chops him against the post then Scott does it to him. Gary eye pokes him and hits chops. Scott back body drops him on the floor.

We go to break and return. Gary hits punches and bangs his head off the buckles. Scott jumps up to the top rope and flying back elbows Gary. Scott bangs Gary's leg off the mat. Scott running boots him. Scott suplexes him. Gary hits a spinning razor's edge.

Scott hits punches and grabs a chair. Gary hits him with double knees in the corner and facebusters him on the chair. Scott slams him then standing moonsaults a chair on him. Scott hits punches. Gary kicks him in the back. Scott hits more punches then hits a dropkick.

Gary hits punches then lariats him. Gary slams him. The ref is distracted by Stephen E. Scott low blows Gary then top rope moonsaults him to win.

Thoughts:
Scott was good here and really is quite athletic. I didn't like the match though. The ref didn't really care about the chair being in the ring and I didn't like that it didn't mean that much towards the outcome of the match. I also didn't like Gary bending the rules with Scott then wanting sympathy later when Scott bent the rules and won the match off of it.

Overall thoughts: The opening segment was random and they didn't tell us who Noelle was, so it came off odd. Burt/Era didn't get enough time and Gram/Hansen wasn't that good though Hansen showed some athleticism. As usual, nothing was really announced for next time and I'm not fully confident that we will get any follow up on some of the happenings here. I wouldn't recommend this one.

Mid-States Wrestling 7/5/2024 Season 2, Episode 16

Mid-States Wrestling 7/5/2024 Season 2, Episode 16

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/06/mid-states-wrestling-6282024-season-2.html

We have a battle royale for a title match tonight.

Winner gets a Title Shot 15-Man Battle Royal

All 15 men fight to start. Austin Mulitalo comes off the top on Blue Bolt. Jimmy Fiasco hits chops in the corner with help from Johnny Dynamite. We go to break and return. Ateu was apparently accused of being eliminated by the ref but was not. Muy Macho gets eliminated and apparently Joey Vinetti got eliminated as well.

Johnny Lightning nearly gets eliminated but lands on the steps to save himself. El Matador Uno is eliminated as is Diamond Duke. Brandon Beretta pulls the rope down on Wrex Amadeus to eliminate him. CTV and Alan Jefferson get eliminated around the same time. Gabe The Babe also goes but you couldn't really see it.

Ernie Elwood is thrown out by a bunch of people. El Matador Dos is thrown out onto Ernie Elwood for the elimination. Austin Mulitalo pushes Burt Cameron out with his feet. Jimmy Fiasco and Cannonball Matthews go out at the same time.

Austin throws out Bolt then Johnny Lightning throws out Beretta. Austin Mulitalo back body drops Gary Gram over the top for the elimination. Gary Gram then comes in and nails everyone with his chain in a non-face move.

Johnny Dynamite and Austin Mulitalo trade. Johnny Lightning and Johnny Dynamite hit stereo back body drops. Dynamite and Mulitalo fight on the apron. Multialo is punched and gets eliminated then Lightning knocks Dynamite off the apron to eliminate his own partner. Lightning then eliminates Ateu with a lariat over the top and wins.

Thoughts: Due to the way the camera was positioned and due to how many people were in this, you really couldn't see anything until about halfway through. So people would get thrown out and you couldn't see it. They also had breaks during this and that was a problem too as eliminations happened during or around the break. The big problem here was that we were told Ateu had some issue where the refs thought he was eliminated, but apparently, he wasn't. This happened during the break when we couldn't see it, so I couldn't tell you what actually happened either. Ateu ended up being the 2nd to last person in and was eliminated. This was just too hard to watch and follow and I wouldn't recommend it.

Overall thoughts: There was only one match here and it was a battle royal. Unfortunately, because so many people were in it and because of the camera angle they chose, you couldn't see most of it. Add in breaks which happened while eliminations occurred and some situation with Ateu, the runner-up, which we didn't see, and it was too hard to watch. I wouldn't recommend this one.

Mid-States Wrestling 6/28/2024 Season 2, Episode 15

 Mid-States Wrestling 6/28/2024 Season 2, Episode 15

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/06/mid-states-wrestling-6212024-season-2.html

Stephen E welcomes us to the show. Ateu vs Johnny Lightning and Jason Jones and Iron Mountain vs The Fraternity and Wrex Amadeus are our matches tonight.

Ateu vs Johnny Lightning

Ateu misses a splash and takes chops early. JL top rope double axe handles him. We go to break and return. JL hits corner punches then step up enzugiri's him. JL boots him out of the corner. Ateu catches a 2nd rope crossbody and swinging side slams him down.

Ateu hits punches and Garvin stomps him. JL hits some punches and is pulled down by the hair. Ateu chokes him on the ropes then step up knees him in the corner. Ateu splashes him. Ateu ducks a superkick and JL pounces on him. Ateu lariats him then misses one and gets a neckbreaker for it.

JL hits some lariats then slams him. JL top rope elbow drops him. JL nearly superkicks the ref and is low blowed. Ateu spears him and wins.

Thoughts: It was just a match. I thought Ateu should have been more of a heel in the beginning here to get more heat and to explain JL seemingly being more aggressive with him than usual.

Jason Jones and Iron Mountain (Handsome Jack and Diamond Duke) vs The Fraternity (Alan Jefferson and Cannonball Matthews) and Wrex Amadeus

NOTE - The name of Diamond Duke's partner has been a mystery for a while. They said his name was Hotbody Jack Hickory here. If you look online, it says his name is Handsome Jack.

CM = Cannonball Matthews

Duke has the tassles on and Jack has the gold and black shorts on. Jones hits elbows on Wrex's arm then back elbows him. Wrex's head is banged off the buckles and Jones chops him. Jones hiptosses him then Wrex takes a double lariat. Wrex takes a double hiptoss and Iron Mountain do push-ups.

Duke wristlocks Wrex. Alan gets in and is spinning slammed by Duke. Duke gorilla press drops Alan. Alan 2nd rope diving codebreakers him then chokes him on the ropes. CM and Wrex then help out.

Duke is double clubbed on. CM low lariats him. Duke is triple team backbreakered with Wrex putting up his knees for Duke to land on. Wrex russian legsweeps Duke then elbow drops him. Alan is catapulted into Duke in the corner then Alan legdrops him.

CM hits shots on Duke. We go to break and return. Jack is tagged in and hits shots on all 3 opponents. The ref isn't looking and Jack gets hit with a cookie sheet or briefcase. "Mr. Saturday Night" Michael Barry then comes in and hits The Fraternity with a chair. Jones and Iron Mountain are disqualified.

Thoughts: This is a follow up from the 6/14/24 episode where The Fraternity tried to jump Barry and Iron Mountain came to his aide. The match was fine but the finish wasn't that good as the face used the chair on heels and got the other faces disqualified. The better way to do this would have been to have the heels cheat and have Barry come out to even things up. Then Barry could have stopped them from cheating somehow and got busted.

Michael Barry apologizes after and said he got carried away. He says that felt really good.  Barry runs the ropes and says he's feeling good. He said he has never held the MSW Tag Title and says he doesn't know if he can ride off into the sunset until he holds it. Barry says he will return next week and wants to challenge for the tag titles with Jones. Jones asks how they will be able to take the Fraternity with Wrex in their corner when they don't have anyone in their corner. Jones says he'll call Jimmy Hart and have him manage them.

Overall thoughts: There were only two new matches as usual here. There were mic issues and it was hard to hear the commentators at times in both matches. We actually did get a follow up from an angle here and they built something for a future show which was appreciated. It was just an average show and I wouldn't really recommend it.

Mid-States Wrestling 6/21/2024 Season 2, Episode 14

Mid-States Wrestling 6/21/2024 Season 2, Episode 14

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/06/mid-states-wrestling-6142024-season-2.html

The Blue Bolt says he's the premier masked wrestler in MSW. He says he's been racking up wins and proved he's the high flying, all-inspiring Blue Bolt.

Malo vs The Blue Bolt

They lock up. Malo hits shots in the corner. Bolt fights back with shots to the gut. Bolt misses a corner charge and takes punches and boots. Malo hits shots on Bolt then Bolt armdrags him. Bolt dropkicks him then Malo running boots him.

Bolt jawbreakers him then snapmares him. Bolt diving euros him. Bolt blue thunders him for 2. Bolt hits chops then corner splashes him. Bolt hits a code red and wins it.

Thoughts: There was nothing was wrong with it but it was just an average match. They got in and out without too many thrills.

Tyler Midas does a promo. He says he's the future Southern Heavyweight champ. He says Gary Gram is trash and will be sent to the trash compound after.

Gary Roosevelt Gram does a promo. He says he's here to defend his title. He says he's so dope that he's illegal in 52 states.

Southern Heavyweight Title - Gary Roosevelt Gram vs Tyler Midas

Tyler hits him before the bell and hits some boots. Gary trips him and pretends to pee on him like a dog. Tyler flying headscissors him then hits a slingblade.  Gary hits punches then Tyler neckbreakers him.

We go to break and return. Tyler blocks a sunset flip and bangs Gary's hand off he mat. Tyler codebreakers Gary's arm. Tyler snapmares him and basement dropkicks him.

Tyler hits kicks to the body and armbreakers him. Tyler corner lariats him. Gary slams him then misses an elbow drop. Tyler hits mounted shots then stomps the arm.

Tyler armlocks him. Gary makes his comeback then takes a reverse ddt. Tyler misses a top rope splash. Gary flying shoulders him then hits a spinning razor's edge. Tyler drops down and armbreakers Gary. Tyler 2nd rope dropkicks Gary in the arm.

Gary rolls him up then hits an air raid crash. Gary then wins it.

Thoughts: It was okay with Tyler working the arm before Gary put him down. There was nothing too great here but Tyler at least stuck to being a heel and trying to get the crowd to hate him.

Overall thoughts:
It was your usual MSW show with 2 matches and no real angles or anything built towards the next show. It wasn't must see but as always, it was an unoffensive and watchable 25 minutes or so of wrestling.

Mid-States Wrestling 6/14/2024 Season 2, Episode 13

Mid-States Wrestling 6/14/2024 Season 2, Episode 13

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/06/mid-states-wrestling-672024-season-2.html

Burt Cameron talks to his puppet. He says we are going 1v1 with Muy Macho and says we will give him the morality check.

MSW Kansas Heavyweight Title - Burt Cameron (c) vs Muy Macho

Macho is a generic masked guy and yells about he is Macho during his entrance. They say Macho is "54 tacos and one bottle of tequila" in weight.

Macho flying shoulders him and just bounces off. Macho gets caught on a crossbody and brings Burt down backwards. Macho misses elbow drops. Macho is slingshotted in then Burt elbow drops him. Burt running knees him in the corner then bangs his head off the buckles.

Macho is sent into the buckles chest first then is speared. Burt twisting suplexes him and wins.

Thoughts: Macho is a jobber and was beaten here as expected. It just kind of was what it was but whoever was under the Macho mask today put some more personality into the gimmick.

Gabe The Babe does a promo with Ernie Elwood. He says CTV got lucky on him last time but it will be different tonight.

CTV (Colten Theron Vaught) does a promo. He said he and Graham rattled Gabe and Ernie last time. He said he wants to see them in the arena tonight and will make them a believer.

Gabe The Babe vs Colten Theron Vaught

CTV wristlocks him and hits kicks to the body. Gabe reverses hte wristlock. CTV rolls and headflips out of it. CTV side headlocks him and hits a nice dropkick. Gabe pulls him down by the hair then hits boots in the corner.

Gabe corner splashes him. Ernie Elwood, who is with Gabe, chokes CTV against the bottom rope. CTV hits lariats then flying lariats him. CTV flying knees him in the corner. CTV moonsaults over him and germans him.

Ernie trips CTV then Gabe nails Ernie on the apron on accident. CTV corkscrew kicks Gabe then hits a wrist clutch exploder. CTV then wins it.

Thoughts: CTV looked great here. He was moving well, his offense looked good and he had tons of energy on top of being real over. Gabe was a good match for him and they had a quick but decent one here.

"Mr. Saturday Night" Michael Barry is interviewed. He says it's been a minute and he wants to be interviewed in the ring. He is asked if he will step in the ring soon. Michael says he has a lot of projects going on then The Fraternity come out. Michael says he doesn't know who they are.

It's hard to hear some of this but Michael makes some jokes. The Fraternity says it's time for old timers like Michael to get out of here and give them the time they deserve. Michael says he's not as good as he once was but is good once as he ever was. He takes off his sunglasses and Iron Mountain makes the save with Jason Jones before the fight breaks out. They then set-up a 6-man tag.

Thoughts:
It was too hard to hear most of the audio here unfortunately so I'm not fully sure what all was said. They said they were setting up for a 6-man tag tonight but that one didn't air on this episode which is an issue.

Overall thoughts:
I wouldn't recommend this one. There were only two matches and both were short. There was an interview and angle as well but it was really hard to hear most of it due to audio issues and they set-up a match that they said would be tonight but wasn't on this episode.

Mid-States Wrestling 6/7/2024 Season 2, Episode 12

Mid-States Wrestling 6/7/2024 Season 2, Episode 12

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/06/mid-states-wrestling-5312024-season-2.html

Herb Simmons is on commentary again. The Top Guns from SICW are facing The Matador's. Big Joe Helms also takes on Atila Khan in another match with SICW talent.

The Top Guns do a promo. Brandon says they wanted to be here for so long. He said they get to prove they are the hardest working tag team. They say they are cutting their teeth everywhere they can. Joe says they have been going everywhere. Brandon says they will prove why they are the best up and coming tag team anywhere they go.

The Top Guns (Brandon Baretta and Joey Vinetti) vs El Matadors (Uno and Dos)

Brandon wristlocks Dos then is reversed. Brandon backdrops him then waistlocks takedowns him. Dos tags out and we go to break. We return and Brandon wristlocks Uno. Uno hits some shots then Brandon backdrops him. Brandon hits a corner spear and sends Joe into Uno. Joe legdrops Uno for 2.

Dos is armdragged by Joe. Joe jumps off of Brandon's back with an elbow drop on Uno. Brandon powerslams Uno then drops Joe on him for 2. Joe sleepers Uno. Uno stomps on Joe.

Joe suplexes Uno for 2. Uno punches Joe and The Matadors's switch. Uno suplexes Joe then nail Brandon on the apron. The Matador's switch again and Brandon lariats one of them. The Top Guns hit a double suplex.

Brandon lariats and back elbows Uno. Brandon spinebusters Uno then Joey is rocket launched onto Uno. Joey picks up the win.

Thoughts: It was an okay tag here with The Matador's doing illegal switches and getting some offense in before The Top Guns came back and won it.

Stephen E. and Atila Khan are interviewed. E says he wanted Big Joe Helms and says they got him. He says Khan will take Joe to the cleaners and says we will hear 1-2-3. Big Joe Helms does a promo. He says him and Khan have met all over the Midwest. He says he' too much of a man for Khan and E and tells them to bring it on.

Atila Khan vs Big Joe Helms

They lock up and trade some shots. Joe crossbodies him for 2. We go to break and return. Khan hits a shot to the eyes. Khan hits Joe with a foreign object. Khan foot chokes him then hits a palm strike flurry. Khan snapmares him and knee drops him.

Khan gets him with something on the ropes and takes elbows to the gut. Khan is on the apron and is pulled in upside down. Khan camel clutches him then misses a 2nd rope headbutt drop. Stephen E. gets on the apron and Khan hits Joe with a foreign object. Khan then gets the pin.

Thoughts: It was a slower paced match here with Khan doing real basic heel offense and using a weapon. It wasn't that exciting and could have been sped up a bit. It did make sense though.

Khan uses the weapon on Joe after then Jason Jones and Cowboy Bob Orton make the save.

Jones gets in the mic after. He tries to set up himself and Orton vs Stephen E. and Atila Khan. Stephen E. asks if we want to see it then says it ain't gonna happen.

Overall thoughts:
There were only 2 new matches here. Both were average and not must see. I'm not really sure if the Orton tag was set-up or not here as the announcers made it seem like it but then Stephen E. said no. There were no announcements made for next week's show either here. I wouldn't recommend this one.

Mid-States Wrestling 5/31/2024 Season 2, Episode 11

Mid-States Wrestling 5/31/2024 Season 2, Episode 11

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/05/mid-states-wrestling-5242024-season-2.html

Ryan Lee and Herb Simmons are our commentators today. Herb is from SICW, which I cover here.

MSW Missouri Heavyweight Title - Austin Mulitalo (c) vs Johnny Lightning

Stephen E comes out with Austin. He says the fans don't realize how lucky they are. He says they are privileged to see him and Austin. E puts Austin over as the next big thing. He says everyone wants to be like him or with him.

They shove each other and Austin wristlocks him. JL wristlocks him back and armlocks him. JL side headlocks him then side headlock takeovers him. JL chops him and corner back elbows him. JL throws him. Stephen E grabs JL's foot then Austin boots JL from behind. Austin neckbreakers JL for 2 then front facelocks him.

JL lariats him and Austin bumps big for it. Austin chinbreakers him then bulldogs him. Austin snapmares him and chinlocks him. JL slams him and goes up top. Stephen E gets on the apron and JL goes after him. Austin flying knees JL and picks up the win.

Thoughts: It was short here with Stephen E getting involved multiple times and involving himself in the Titan Yin does a promo. He says he's the most balanced wrestler on the planet and the most explosive wrestler. He says he will bruise and beat Bobby D tonight.

Bobby D does a promo. he says this is his debut tonight. He says Yin flies everywhere but he will get him on his back and pin or submit him.

Titan Yin vs Bobby D

Yin is side headlocked then puts one on of his own. Bobby armdrags and armlocks him. Bobby knee drops the arm. Bobby trips him and armlocks him. Bobby bangs Yin's arm over his shoulder.

We go to break and return. Bobby chops Yin. Yin hits forearms then stomps on him in the corner. Yin chokes him over the ropes and snapmares him. Yin then kicks him in the back.

They trade chops and Bobby knocks him over with them. Yin dropkicks him in the knee and locks his leg up. Yin kicks him in the leg then bangs it off the mat. Yin knees him in the back of the leg. Yin beats up on him in the corner.

Yin trips Bobby and does a heel hook. Boby reverses it and does a high crab. Bobby powerslams him and suplexes him. Bobby does a northern lights bomb and wins it.

Thoughts: It was just an average match here. Nothing too wrong with it but nothing too great either. We really didn't see the speed or the flying I was expecting from Yin here.

Overall thoughts:
There were only 2 new matches here. Neither was must see and I wouldn't recommend it. As usual, they didn't promote anything for future shows or try to build up any angles.finish.

Mid-States Wrestling 5/24/2024 Season 2, Episode 10

Mid-States Wrestling 5/24/2024 Season 2, Episode 10

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/05/mid-states-wrestling-5172024-season-2.html

Stephen E. goes up to Scott Hansen in the back. He says it's about time they had a talk.

Warren Adams vs Colton Theron Vaught

Adams takes him down and rides his back. Adams lets CTV put a side headlock on. CTV pump kicks him, release germans him the running knees him. CTV then picks up the win.

Thoughts:
It was a short match here. Adams was doing well and I would have liked to have seen it go longer. CTV did good here as usual.

The Fraternity do a promo. They said everyone knows they belong at the top of the mountain in MSW. They say the tag belts belong to them and say they will do anything it takes to claim them. Cannonball Matthews said they stole the belts and they will do anything to earn the belts. Cannonball says they will break their backs and climb over their bodies to reach the peak of the mountain. They say they are smarter, stronger and better than Toxic Masculinity.

Toxic Masculinity does a promo. They say The Fraternity are the best tag team here except for them. Toxic says they built the tag division here and says earn the belts if they want them.

Mid-States Wrestling Tag Titles - Toxic Masculinity (Johnny Dynamite and Johnny Lightning) (c) vs The Fraternity (Alan Jefferson and Cannonball Matthews)

CM = Cannonball Matthews

Lightning has the lighter beard, Dynamite has the darker beard. Alan slaps Lightning then is put in a headlock. Lightning pulls him by the hair. Alan tries to walk up the ropes with him in a headlock, is thrown off then Alan ducks a superkick.

Dynamite and CM forearm flurry each other then forearm each other at the same time. Dynamite hits a nice punch to the face and chest slaps him. They collide heads and tag out. Alan is chopped by Lightning. Alan takes a chop from both and Dynamite hits more nice punches. Dynamite drops down and punches Alan into Lightning's neckbreaker.

Alan is powerbombed on Lightning's knees. Dynamite slams Alan then Alan takes a double electric chair drop. Alan is thrown out. CM olympic slams Lightning off the 2nd rope. CM flips Lightning with a lariat and we go to break.

We return and Lightning is double clubbed on. Lighting is choked on the ropes and takes a leg lariat on the ropes. Lightning takes a double backbreaker. CM belly to belly suplexes Lightning. Alan is catapulted into a lariat on Lightning.

Lightning corner lariats Alan. Lightning is pushed off the top into Alan's codebreaker. CM slams Alan onto Lightning. Lightning headbutts CM on the ropes then top rope elbow drops him.

Dynamite is tagged in and he germans both opponents. Alan is superkicked into a german. Lightning superkicks Dynamite on accident then Alan moves. Alan grabs the contract and tries to hit Lightning with it. Lightning blocks it and gives it backto him, pretending he hit him. Lightning then rolls up Alan for 2. Lightning hits the ref on acccident then Alan hits Lightning with the contract for 2.

CM powerbombs Dynamite on the apron then Alan runs up the buckles and bulldogs Lightning. Alan goes up top and CM is pushed into him. Lightning is pushe dinto the post shoulder first. Alan hits Lightning with the contract against the post. Lightning takes a doomsday device and is pinned. The Fraternity win the MSW Tag Titles!

Thoughts: This was a really good tag here. They just did everything well and we got a lot of good stuff here with false finishes, the heels cheating, the heels nearly getting caught by their own tricks, double teams and a hot crowd. It was a real exciting match and you couldn't tell who was going to win. They gotta run this one back again.

Overall thoughts: Only two matches here for this one but both did what they were supposed to. As usual, there weren't any real storylines or stuff for next week built up. The main was a strong tag match with a little bit of everything and it was one of the better matches I've seen from MSW. This is not a bad way to spend 30 minutes.

Mid-States Wrestling 5/17/2024 Season 2, Episode 9

Mid-States Wrestling 5/17/2024 Season 2, Episode 9

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/05/mid-states-wrestling-5102024-season-2.html

Lumberjack Match - Kelsey Magnolia vs Judy Azul

They lock up and Judy says KM is pulling her hair. KM then accuses Judy of pulling her hair. Judy side headlocks her then KM side headlocks her. KM side headlock takeovers her. Judy headscissors her. KM crossbodies her. A lumberjack grabs KM while she's on the ropes and Judy pulls her down backwards.

We go to break and return. Judy hits forearms then is thrown out. Judy argues with the face lumberjacks and hits one of them. Judy chinlocks her. Wrex Amadeus chokes KM on the ropes when the ref isn't looking. KM suplexes her then running lariats her in the corner. KM back elbows her and crossbodies her for 2.

Judy goes out and the lumberjacks fight. KM then top rope planchas everyone outside. KM goes to slam Judy, Wrex pulls KM's leg and Judy picks up the pin.

Thoughts: This was not too good. It's not like they were botching stuff, but these girls just aren't super athletic. At least they had Wrex work with his partner Judy, following up on that partnership.

"Handsome" Scott Hanson vs Sam Stackhouse

Scott stalls to start. Sam pushes him over and Scott goes back out. We do that spot again. Sam teases a dive but Scott hits him. Scott is slingshotted in and takes shots to the gut. Sam chops him then beale throws him. Sam slams Scott. We go to PiP break and return.

Sam corner splashes Scott. Scott hits punches. Scott leapfrogs him and misses a dropkick. Sam shoulders him over. Scott dropkicks him in the knee. Scott stands on Sam's back while he's on all fours and splashes it. Scott legdrops Sam's leg then legdrops him. Scott bangs Sam's leg off the mat and hits shots on Sam's back.

Sam chops him from the mat then lariats and back elbows him. Sam headbutts him then somewhat misses a corner splash. Sam hits another corner splash and Scott pele kicks him. Sam spinning heel kicks him then Scott enzugiri's her. Sam hits a samoan drop. Scott hits punches then Sam lariats him. Scott eye rakes him. Scott comes off the top and is caught with a black hole slam in a cool spot. Sam then gets the pin.

Thoughts: It was a pretty good match and definitely a step above some of the usual offerings. Scott's a pretty impressive all around talent and he matched up well with Sam here. They took things up to the next level and had a nice finishing stretch with some nearfalls then ended it with a cool finishing spot.

Sam Stackhouse is interviewed after. He said Scott put up a good fight. He says he's undefeated in this area and says something about this crowd gets his all charged up.

Overall thoughts: We had two matches. One was pretty good and definitely above the usual offerings and the other wasn't that good, though it wasn't like it was due to botches. As usual, there weren't many storylines going on here or any build to future episodes which is disappointing. Stackhouse/Hanson is maybe worth a look.

Mid-States Wrestling 5/10/2024 Season 2, Episode 8

Mid-States Wrestling 5/10/2024 Season 2, Episode 8

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/05/mid-states-wrestling-532024-season-2.html

The Ice Man is interviewed. He's not impressed by Big Joe Helms, saying he used to play football like him too. He says he should be champ but instead he is facing a gorilla wannabe. He says the next step is The Ice Man as champion.

The Ice Man vs Big Joe Helms

Joe gets a big pop as usual and Ice is threatened by him. Ice avoids the lockup and struts. Joe talks to the crowd and is hit from behind. Ice hits shots to the gut then punches him. Joe no sells it and stares him down as Ice calls for timeout. Ice moonwalks out of the corner and sends Joe into the post.

Ice hits clubs and elbows on Joe's shoulder/arm. Ice wraps Joe's arm around the ropes then yanks down on it. Joe's arm is wrapped around the ropes and Ice kicks the ropes. Ice tells the ref, "I'll do whatever I want". Ice hits corner punches. Joe running throat thrusts him.

Joe corner splashes him then hits a big powerslam. Joe then gets the win.

Thoughts: It was short but I liked it. Joe speared the post, Ice worked the arm then eventually got put down. Ice is a really good vet wrestler.

Mid-States Wrestling Title - Luke Langley (c) vs Dan Webber

They wrestle on the mat. Luke gets his back, Dan rolls out of it then is headlocked. Luke wants a test of strength, trips him and then side headlocks him. Dan throws a big punch. Luke cartwheels off the ropes and atomic drops Dan.

Dan hits a nice punch then throws Luke into the ropes face first. Luke whiplashes back and we see Dan hit mounted punches on Luke. We go to break and return. Luke hits a jumping knee and spin kicks him in the gut. Dan superkicks him and slams him.

Luke urakens him then Dan spinebusters him for 2. They trade shots and Luke hurricanrana's him. Luke kicks him out of the corner then superkicks him in the gut. Luke hits an enzugiri then flying back elbows him in the corner.

Dan drives Luke into the corner. Dan is thrown into the rope then Luke heistation dropkicks him in the corner. Dan takes a nice bump for a flatliner for 2. Dan headbuts him then hits a powerbomb for 2. Dan sleepers him then Luke backdrops him to get out of it. Luke spin kicks him in the head and wins it.

Thoughts: The match was just average. I have no idea who the face or the heel was here and neither really did much to act heel or face. I thought that hurt this one.

Luke Langley is interviewed after. Luke says Dan was more than game, but that's what he expects when he's the standard of MSW.

Overall thoughts: The opener was good. The other match was just average. As usual, there weren't any storylines here or any build towards anything in the future and it was just two matches. I wouldn't recommend this one.

Mid-States Wrestling 5/3/2024 Season 2, Episode 7

Mid-States Wrestling 5/3/2024 Season 2, Episode 7

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/04/mid-states-wrestling-4262024-season-2.html

Jason Jones vs Malo

This is Malo's MSW debut. He's another masked guy who is probably jobbing here. Jones throws Malo with a hiptoss. Jones hits elbows to the arm. Malo rolls out of wristlock and does his own wristlock. Jones reverses it then back elbows him. Jones hits punches and drops him.

We go to break and return. I think Jones hits a dropkick then is jawbreakered. Malo hits shots to the body then chokes him on the ropes. Malo sliding lariats him for 2. Jones atomic drops him then lariats him. Malo pulls Jones' throat down over the top rope.

Malo is hit in the gut when coming off the 2nd rope. Jones hits a bionic elbow then bangs Malo's head off the buckles. Jones corner splashes him then hits a stunner. Jones then wins it.

It was just a squash here with Malo getting nothing in before being beaten.

Jones plays around with the camera after.

Tim Rockwell vs Burt Cameron

Stephen E is with Tim. They lock up and Tim wristlocks him. Tim does another arm submission on him then Burt side headlocks him. Burt side headlock takeovers him then shoulders him over. Burt bangs Tim's head off his knee then swinging neckbreakers him. Burt is pulled down backwards.

We go to break and return. Tim baseball slides him then hits an elbow drop. Tim sleepers him. Burt is able to get out of it it eventually then Tim lariats him. Tim fist drops him then chokes him over the 2nd rope. Stephen E. cheap shots Burt.

Burt is thrown chest first into the buckles then Stephen E. chokes Burt. Tim suplexes him for 2. Tim chokes him over the ropes and Stephen E chokes Burt over the ropes. Tim hits punches in the corner then Burt boots him. Burt lariats him then hits a spear for 2.

Stephen E. gets on the apron with Burt in control. Tim hits Burt with Stephen's cane then flatliners Burt. Tim picks up the win.

It was a basic and average match with the heel cheating to win. It was fine for what it was but not much more.

Overall thoughts: There were only 2 matches here. Neither was must see and I wouldn't recommend this. As often is the case with MSW, there were no promos, no real storylines and no build for any future shows.

Mid-States Wrestling 4/26/2024 Season 2, Episode 6

Mid-States Wrestling 4/26/2024 Season 2, Episode 6

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/04/mid-states-wrestling-4192024-season-2.html

El Matador Uno vs Jimmy Fiasco

Uno weighed in today at "65 gallons of authentic hispanic salsa". Nigel Rabid says different countries have different units of measurement.

Jimmy hits a shot and Uno goes down. Uno tries to belly bump him but and push him but Jimmy doesn't budge. Uno hits him in the gut and side headlocks him. Uno drops him with a punch. Jimmy counters a side headlock then nails Uno in the head. Jimmy running hip attacks him and Uno hits wind-up punches. Jimmy distracts him, grabs him by the nose then smacks his hand down.

Jimmy corner splashes him then death valley drivers him. Jimmy then wins it.

It was a silly squash here with Uno being purely comedic and not getting anything serious in.

Gabe The Babe and Ernie Elwood talk. Gabe says Ernie's his biggest fan and Ernie said he's his best friend. Ernie says tonight it's gonna be big time.

Colton Theron Vaught does a promo. He said he has only racked up wins and give people the best matches possible. He said being a little insane is the best path to victory. Gary Roosevelt Gram comes in. He says he's bad and you know it, clap your hands.

Gabe The Babe and Ernie Elwood vs Colton Theron Vaught and Gary Roosevelt Gram

Gary runs around the ring with a dog collar and leash on and CTV does the same. Their entrance was nice with the crowd popping for it.

Gary and Gabe start us off. Gary throws him over and pretends to pee on him like a dog. CTV snapmares Gabe and kicks him in the chest. CTV then pretends to pee on him like a dog. Gabe gets mad and Ernie gets in.

CTV tries shoulders on Ernie but can't move him. Ernie slams him and CTV tries shot to the gut that don't register. Gabe  hits shots on CTV. CTV headflips out of a wristlock and side headlocks Gabe. CTV hits a nice dropkick then Gram 2nd rope dropkicks him. Gabe spinning headscissors Gary then Gary blocks one and hits a sitout powerbomb.

Gabe low blows Gary. Ernie bangs Gary's head off the buckles and splashes him. Gary hits shots to the gut then Ernie splashes him in the corner. CTV tries to rile the crowd up then Gabe boots Gary in the corner.

Gary is snapmared then Ernie stands on his gut. Ernie slams Gary then misses a splash. CTV is hot tagged in. He lariats Gabe down several times. Gary hits a spinning razor's edge on Gabe then CTV top rope splashes Gabe to win it.

It was fine for what it was. CTV and Gary have just insane energy and really make for a fun face team. Ernie's gear is ridiculous but it's supposed to be.

Overall thoughts: Only two matches as usual here. It is an indy so I won't be too hard on it, but it would be nice if we could get some matches built up, some storylines and some feuds going on. The opener was a mostly comedic squash. The main event was fine with Gram and CTV making for a good face team. I wouldn't recommend it but it was fun.

Mid-States Wrestling 4/19/2024 Season 2, Episode 5

Mid-States Wrestling 4/19/2024 Season 2, Episode 5

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/04/mid-states-wrestling-4122024-season-2.html

Wrex Amadeus does a promo. He said he's the man with the world's strongest mustache. He says he will put a dent in the ring the size of Blue Bolt. Blue Bolt does a promo. He said Wrex is strong but he's quick. He said Wrex will only hear the 1-2-3 when he hits his code blue finisher in the ring.

Wrex Amadeus vs Blue Bolt

They lock up and Bolt hits armdrags. Bolt dropkicks him then is pulled into the buckles. Wrex russian legsweeps him then elbow drops him for 2. Bolt hits double axe handles on him then back body drops him.

Wrex pushes the ref into the ropes, causing Bolt to get crotched. Wrex then hits an attitude adjustment and uses the tights to pin Bolt.

I didn't like the ref getting pushed around here. The match was real short and not that special.

Nigel Rabid and The Rabid Empire are interviewed. Nigel said we will soon see tag team gold around their waists. He said the sun never sets on The Rabid Empire. Music then hits and Iron Mountain come out. Iron Mountain said they see a bunch of jokers over here flapping their gums. They said they also see an empty ring and don't see some big meaty men slapping beef. They say let's save the talking and get to action.

Iron Mountain (Diamond Duke and Handsome Jack) vs The Rabid Empire (Lord Ateu and Dredd)

Nigel Rabid is out there with Rabid Empire. Lord locks up with Diamond Duke (gold and black tassles) and hits a shot. Lord takes shots back and takes a corner lariat. Lord hits a big slam then Duke is beaten up in the corner. Duke takes a double suplex then a legdrop.

Dredd chops Duke then takes a nice spinebuster. Jack hits shots on Duke then takes a knee from the apron by Lord. Dredd uppercuts his opponent. We go to break and return.

Lord chokes Jack over the ropes then Nigel Rabid chokes Duke's partner as well. Dredd legdrops Duke's partner on the apron. Nigel hits Jack with his cricket bat. The ref gets shoved over and they all fight outside. Duke's head is put on a chair outside but his partner saves him. Lord is sent into the post outside and Dredd pounds on Duke.

The ref calls this a double DQ as all control has been lost.  Duke is 2v1'd then Jack saves him by swinging a chair around.

Duke's partner is Handome Jack. It was a decent match here with some fun brawling outside after. I'm sure this is leading to something and I'm looking forward to it.

Overall thoughts: Only 2 matches here. The main was fun with some good brawling but the opener was too short. I wouldn't recommend it but it was only 21 minutes and was real easy to get through.

Mid-States Wrestling 4/12/2024 Season 2, Episode 4

Mid-States Wrestling 4/12/2024 Season 2, Episode 4

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/04/mid-states-wrestling-452024-season-2.html

Southern Heavyweight Title - Gary Roosevelt Gram (c) vs Atila Khan

The camera man is knocked over during Gary's entrance where he runs around the ring.

Gary side headlocks him. Khan boots him out of the corner then lariats him. Khan uses a fork on Gary's face then footchokes him. Khan headbutts him and uses the fork on him more while the ref is distracted by Stephen E.

We go to break and return. Khan is still using the fork on Gary then hits shots to the throat. Khan double throat thrusts him then knee drops him. Khan gutwrench suplexes him then misses an elbow drop. Gary hits punches then Khan forks him in the throat. Khan goes out and Gary follows. Khan then spits something in Gary's eye and gets disqualified.

The finish didn't work here. I don't know what Gary got in his eyes, but we couldn't see it so the angle really didn't work as well as it could have. This was mostly just Khan using the fork on Gary before Gary got a few punches in.

Jason Jones comes to check on Gary after and Gary is helped to the back.

Jason Jones is interviewed. He challenges Atila Khan and Stephen E. to a match tonight. The heels take a bit to come out but do make it out. Jason grabs a chair and the ref separate them.

Scott Hansen and Luke Langley talk. Scott challenges him for tonight. Luke Langley says he has a nice mustache and potential but says he's still the gold standard. He then accepts his challenge.

MSW Title - Luke Langley (c) vs Scott Hansen

They shake hands and lock up. Scott hammerlocks him and Luke trips him into a side headlock. Scott wristlocks him then Luke armdrags him. Luke trips him and front facelocks him. Luke trips him then Scott does a standing flip out of a wristlock. Scott gets a 2 count on him then Luke hurricanrana's him.

Luke hits an armdrag. Luke is between the ropes and Scott pulls Luke's throat into the ropes. Scott hits mounted shots then Luke sunset flips him. Scott lariats him and we go to break.

We return and Luke hits chops. Scott boots him in the gut then Scott hits a nice dropkick. Scott hits stomps and punches. Luke blocks some punches then Scott backdrops him into a neckbreaker for 2. Scott stomps him then Luke spinning backfists him. Luke kicks him off the ropes then hits a kick to the gut and an enzugiri.

Luke misses an elbow in the corner then rolls him into the bottom buckle. Luke then does Kenta's corner dropkick on him. Luke yanks him into a backdrop. Scott nearly runs into the ref and low blows Luke. Scott hits a falcon arrow for 2. Scott misses a big top rope moonsault.

Luke superkicks Scott in the face then brainbusters him. Luke then gets the win.

It was an okay match. Not great or super memorable but Scott heeled it up some here and Luke was able to get around it and get the win. Scott's hammerlock was impressive and I had never really seen anyone do a full forward flip out of a wristlock before. Luke is more ripped than most wrestlers on TV and Scott's a younger, taller guy with some personality and potential.

Overall thoughts: The opener was your average match. The ending didn't really work as Gary got misted with something but it was a clear liquid so we couldn't see it. The second match was an okay heavyweight match with two guys who maybe have some potential to do bigger things down the line. It was fine for 30 minutes of wrestling but I wouldn't really recommend it.

Mid-States Wrestling 4/5/2024 Season 2, Episode 3

Mid-States Wrestling 4/5/2024 Season 2, Episode 3

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/03/mid-states-wrestling-3282024-season-2.html

David McBee and Jason Jones are on commentary here.

Toxic Masculinity are interviewed. Cannonball Matthews comes in and says Toxic cheated his team in their match. Cannonball Matthews said they have a lawsuit coming their way. Toxic then challenges Cannonball Matthews to a singles match tonight.

This wasn't real believable with CM getting too silly here.

Cannonball Matthews vs Johnny Lightning

CM backs him up and slaps him in the corner. Johnny side headlocks him then CM backdrops him out of it. CM misses a shot in the corner and is slapped for it. Johnny hits corner punches then pulls CM over the top. Johnny plancha's him off the top then CM drives Johnny's back into the post.

CM snapmares him then chinlocks him. Johnny hits a jawbreaker then takes a stiff lariat. They call CM "a vending machine with arms" then he belly to belly suplexes Johnny. CM gutwrench suplexes him.

Johnny is put on the 2nd rope and he dropkicks CM. CM neckbreakers him then chokes him on the ropes. Johnny has his sunset flip blocked then Johnny kicks him. CM eye rakes him and Johnny escapes a powerbomb. Johnny superkicks him and gets the win.

It was okay with CM using his size against Johnny and Johnny escaping him. The finish was nice and we got a rare dive in this match.

Judy Azul is interviewed. She says she's not the one with the attitude when the announcer asks her about her new attitude. She said at least she isn't facing Kelsey Magnolia here as she is facing Muy Macho. The announcer asks if she can win with her bad attitude and she said of course she will win.

Judie Azul vs Muy Macho

Macho poses on the ropes and is hit from behind. Azul unlaces Macho's mask then boots him in the gut. Azul facebusters him for 2. Azul hits forearms then flying lariats him. Azul hits an attitude adjustment then hits another one. Muy Macho switches places with another guy dressed as Muy Macho. This Macho crossbodies Azul then rolls Azul up off a knee. This Macho then unmasks and is Kelsey Magnolia.

I don't really know what to make of this. I'm not sure why Mangolia needed to wear a mask to fight Azul as they didn't fully explain it. What we got here was not that good.

Overall thoughts: The first match was good. They had a girl pretend to be a male wrestler under a mask in the second match to get one over on the heel, Judie Azul. However, they didn't explain why she had to do this and the match wasn't that good. I wouldn't recommend this.
