WWE Evolve 12/17/2025
Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/12/wwe-evolve-12102025.html
Robert Stone and Peter Rosenberg are on commentary.
It's GAL does the intro for the show. He says the culture war is at a breaking point and ready to explode. He says the ID vs PC war has brought chaos to Evolve. He talks about the gauntlet match.
Kendal Grey comes out to talk. She says the last few months were crazy. She says she lives for the grind. She says when she lets her guard down, everything crumbles.
Kali Armstrong comes out. She says if she had to chose a woman to carry her torch, it would be her. Kali says she's ready to take back the #1 spot in Evolve. Kali wants a title rematch. PJ Vasa comes out. She says she laid out Kali yet Kali is asking for a title rematch. PJ says she's coming for the title. KG says she doesn't back down from anyone and will take on both of them. KG holds her title up, the girls argue and the segment ends.
Wendy Choo says she ruined Chantel Monroe's title shot as she ran her mouth. She says she had the audacity to come into her therapy session. She says they are far from being even and mocks her. She says she knows she's tougher than her. She says she doesn't need to hold back anymore.
The next Evolve show isn't until January 7th. That's absolutely bogus.
Chantel Monroe talks to the mirror. She asks who the biggest freak of them all is and says it's Wendy Choo. She says she saved Choo time and money by cutting her therapy session short. She says her therapist saved her from herself but won't save her from Monroe.
Charlie Dempsey asks Timothy Thatcher why he didn't respond to his challenge. TT says he isn't here for personal glory and wanted to maintain the integrity of the brand. Charlie says he is the future and wants to prove he's the best technical wrestler there is here. TT says they aren't competition and he declines. He says he could use a training partner but CD says "nah". CD says, "To think, I used to look up to you..."
WWE ID vs WWE PC Gauntlet Match
Leg 1 - Aaron Rourke vs Keanu Carver
AR ducks a lock up and spanks him. KC hits corner spears then AR does the same. AR then feels him up. AR is sent crotch first into the middle buckle and stomped on. KC throws him. KC gutbusters him for 2.
They hit shots to the gut. AR uses the buckles and bodypresses him. KC hits punches. AR hits kicks and 619's him. AR hits a molly go round for 2. AR rolls up KC for 1. KC hits a big boot. KC hits an enka otoshi and pins him.
Thoughts: Thankfully KC won here. AR is leaning more into a gay gimmick. I thought KC should have dominated AR more.
Leg 2 - Keanu Carver vs Mike Cunningham
Mike comes in and hits triple dropkicks. KC hits a corner lariat and throws him. KC throws him hard into the buckles and slams him a few times. KC clubs on him. Mike hits punches. Mike superkicks him. Mike hits a top rope dropkicks for 2. KC hits an enka otoshi on him and pins him.
Thoughts: It was a quick one. Mike got a lot of offense in and looked okay before going down.
Leg 3 - Keanu Carver vs Sam Holloway
Sean Legacy comes out. Chuey Martinez tries to stop Sean, saying he's not cleared. Sam then dropkicks KC. Sam uranages KC then top rope splashes KC to pin him.
Thoughts: I don't love KC losing, but if you are going to do it, this is one of the better ways. Sam hasn't been used here for a bit so it's good to see him back.
Leg 4 - Sam Holloway v Brooks Jensen
Sam facekicks BJ then double underhook suplexes him. Sam lariats BJ over the top. Sam hits punches outside on BJ. BJ stomps him and totally misses a stomp. Sam elbow drops him off the buckles for 2. BJ clubs his back and Sam back elbows him. BJ spinebusters him then brainbusters him for 2.
BJ hits chops and lariats in the corner on Sam. Sam corner lariats him. Sam hits a hard lariat and drops him. They each hit lariats. Sam hits a hard urange for 2. BJ knees him with his knee brace and spinning heel kicks him to beat him.
Thoughts: BJ actually had a nice little bout with Sam here but I didn't like Sam losing. He just returned and should have ran the table here. Instead he loses to Jensen, who hasn't exactly been the top dog. BJ did a good job here.
Leg 4 - Brooks Jensen vs Cappuccino Jones
BJ blocks a backroll and shoulders him over. BJ punches the mat when Cap moves. Cap headscissors him out of the corner and dropkicks him for 2. BJ misses an elbow drop. Cap is laid on the top rope and is flipped. BJ uranage backbreakers him. BJ double stomps Cap. BJ misses an elbow drop.
Cap hits leg kicks. Cap springboard dropkicks him. Harley Riggins and Jax PResley come out. Tate takes a chair away from Harley. Jax goes to give BJ a chair but Cap backrolls and pins BJ. BJ then clips him and stomps the knee.
Thoughts: It wasn't much before the finish.
Leg 5 - Cappuccino Jones vs Braxton Cole
Cap is selling his knee. Cole spears Cap in the knee then stomps it. They say Cole was worried his time was being given to ID talent. Cole pulls back on the leg and bangs Cap's knee off the mat. Cole kneebreakers Cap.
Cole stretch mufflers him. We cut to the back. Chuey says Choo will face Chantel Monroe in a No DQ Match on 1/7. Her match is postponed and she's not happen. Karmen Petrovic then complains. Cap rolls up Cole for 2. Cap clubs on Cole and lariats him.
Cap hits punches and does his decaffinator. Cap pins Cole.
Thoughts: So much for Cole here. He also returns just to lose. Unlike Sam, he didn't even get to beat anyone.
Leg 6 - Cappuccino Jones vs Kam Hendrix
Kam Hendrix is Anthony Luke from WWE LFG. He's making his Evolve debut. Kam still has his Anthony Luke gear on with his initials.
We go to break and return. Kam stomps on the back of Cap's leg. Cap slingshots over him and holds his leg. Kam dragon screws him. Kam hits elbow drops to the leg. Cap step up enzugiri's him. Cap hits a jumping neckbreaker for 2. Kam ddt's the leg then rolls into a lariat on him. Kam backdrops him into a uranage and pins him.
Thoughts: Kam looked good here in his Evolve debut. Cap mostly sold the leg here.
Leg 7 - Kam Hendrix vs Marcus Mathers
MM hook kicks him and sends him out. MM tope con hilos him. Kam powerslams him for 2. MM hits forearms and is forearmed down in the back of the head. MM ddt's him. They go up top and Kam superplexes him. Chuey Martinez talks to Chantel Monroe in the back. She's mad about her match not happening. Arianna Grce and Nikkita Lyons come in. Lyons makes jokes about it and Grace laughs.
Kam hits punches on MM. MM hits forearms and chops. MM enzugiri's him. MM high kicks him then 2nd rope os cutter's him. MM germans Kam for 2. MM high kicks him from the apron. Kam flying kicks him for 2.
MM rolls him up for 2 and spin kicks him. Kam catches his os cutter and backdrops him. Kam then gets the win.
Thoughts: It was nice to see Kam get the win here. I thought MM didn't work well enough to his size here.
Gauntlet thoughts: The booking was weird here. Riggins and Jax started this feud and neither of them wrestled here (one of them wouldn't have been able to either). GAL told us in the intro that both would be in this. Sam Holloway and Braxton Cole returned just to lose. Kam Hendrix, who wasn't even involved in this, ended up winning. This was a bit long and the format limited things too. I didn't really like this that much.
Overall thoughts: We only had one gauntlet match here though it was 7 shorter matches. We had false advertising as Choo/Monroe were supposed to fight but didn't. The gauntlet had some news with returns and people making their Evolve debuts. But it was still a gauntlet. The format limited it and the booking and justifications for some of the things that happened weren't that good. I'd give this a 4 out of 10 as this show had a lot of issues. There's also no show for the next 2 weeks due to the show falling on Christmas and New Years, which I think sucks. The show is taped anyway, just tape extra footage.
