We are in El Paso, Texas. Tom Hannifan and Matt Rehwoldt are on commentary. 

TNA World Title #1 Contender's Battle Royal

Frankie Kazarian is on commentary for this. The Home Town Man airplan spins and throws out Jake Painter. Jesse Funaki is thrown out by Brock Angerson. BDE is nearly thrown out. He superkicks John Silver on the apron and eliminates him. Home Town Man hits punches on Jake Something. Zach Wentz foot chokes Moose.

We go to break and return. Ryan Nemeth is stomped on in the corner. Ryan Nemeth throws BDE out while BDE tries mounted corner punches. Ryan tries to knock Home Town Man off the apron and does with an eyepoke. Sinner and Saint hit step up enzugiri's then take spinebusters from CW and Brock Anderson. Wentz throws CW Anderson out. The Rascalz do a triple basement dropkick on Brock Anderson. Travis Williams throws Wentz out.

Trey Miguel is popped up into a Travis Williams german. Trey Miguel is thrown out. Myroon Reed dropkicks Williams out. Judas Icarus and Brock fight on the apron. Reed jumps over the top and cutters Judas for the elimination. Reed's partners catch him. Reed superkicks Brock Anderson out. Jake Something throws Myron Reed out.

Bear Bronson and Jake Something shove each other and trade forearms. Jake eye rakes him then they double clothesline each other. Rich Swann pulls Ryan Nemeth to the apron. They fight there. AJ Francis comes out and pulls Swann out. AJ chokeslams Swann hard on the apron.

Jake Something is sent out. Mance Warner headbutts Moose and hits a headlock driver on him. Mance lariats Cedric Alexander. Moose pump kicks Mance off the apron. Eric Young eliminates Cedric and Moose at the same time. Bear Bronson fights off Ryan and EY. Bear double arm chokeslams Ryan and throws him out. Eric Young thinks he has Bear out but doesn't. EY gets on the apron with Bear. EY is back body dropped onto the apron and the floor. Bear Bronson wins.

Thoughts: This was a random one. You'd think they would have done anything to build up Bear some, but nope. I don't know who has been booking TNA lately, but their head needs checked. This was your usual battle royal otherwise.

Team TNA does a promo for night. Matt Hardy says Team NXT faces deletion. Mike Santana says they aren't stepping in the ring with 5 men, they are locked up in the cage with 5 dogs. Mike says they can eat you up and asks if they are ready.

TNA Injury Report

Matt Cardona is out with a shoulder injury. Indi Hartwell and Dani Luna have contusions and are out. Rich Swann is day to day with a back injury from the chokeslam. 

Bear Bronson is interviewed in the back. Bear says he is feeling validated. He says he knew it. He says his scars tell a story. He says spilling his blood was worth it. He says all roads lead him to here, where he always wanted to be. He says it's a bad time to be Kazarian as he kicked down Kaz's front door to his kingdom. He says he's coming for him and is the new #1 contender.

The Angel Warriors (Lei Ying Lee and Xia Brookside) vs The Diamond Collective (Tessa Blanchard and Mila Moore)

Robert Stone and Victoria Crawford are with the heels.

MM pushes Xia in the corner off the lock up. MM wristlocks her then pulls her down by the hair. Xia headscissors MM out of the corner and single leg dropkicks her. Tess side headlocks Lee then shoulders her over. Lee dropkicks her. Lee sperkicks MM. MM and Tess are straightjacketed and taken down by The Angel Warriors. Xia and Lee then hit top rope plancha's outside. 

Tess is legswept then Xia steps on Lee's back and elbow drops Tess. Stone tries to trip Lee. Lee superkicks Tess then chases Stone outside. Tess dropkicks Lee through the ropes. MM hits corner spears on Lee. Lee's legs are split. Tess stomps Lee in the corner then Mila does it too. Tess chokes Lee.

Tess clubs on Lee's back. MM stomps on Lee in the corner and hits corner spears. We go to break and return. Lee 2nd rope dropkicks Tess. Lee half crabs Tess and MM breaks it up. MM stomps on Lee. Lee hits elbows to MM's gut. MM double throat thrusts her. Xia comes in and hits lariats on MM. Xia flying headscissors MM. Xia corner meteora's her. Xia neckbreakers MM, making her ddt Tess. MM cradles Xia for 2. Xia high kicks MM. Xia flips Lee off the 2nd rope onto MM for 2.

Xia codebreakers Tess. Lee spinning roundhouse kicks MM then does a spinning reverse torture rack drop and pins her.

Thoughts: It was an okay tag here. It went a lot of time and there weren't any botches. MM did perfectly fine in one of her first bigger matches and fit in just fine with Tess.

Dani Luna is watching the tv in the back. She says she went through hell last week and won because Dani Luna wins. She says if what she did wasn't enough to warrant a title shot, she doesn't know what is. She tells Lee to prove she is a fighting champ. She says she's looking at her doomsday.

The Angel Warriors are interviewed. Gia tells Lee that Dani Luna wants a title shot. Lee says Dani is strong and tough. She says she will defend her title with honor. Xia says Dani is kind of scary. Lee says anytime, anywhere, b!tch.

Elijah is in the ring with his guitar and asks who wants to walk with Elijah? Elijah says he always has a great tim here and ran out Mustafa Ali on a horse. He says Ali tried to ruin his comeback concert. He says a friend told him to go to El Paso to unwind. Elijah then sings a song about going to El Paso. 

Order 4 interrupt. Tasha says they aren't here to sign and dance. Tasha brings Mustafa Ali out. Ali says he wants to talk about Elijah dragging him out with a horse. He say the crowd cheered. Ali asks for a moment of silence.

Elijah plays his guitar after Ali says that. Ali says he's disgusting and promises to make his life a living hell. Elijah says he wishes he had a horse right now to trample him. Elijah says they can talk or just fight. Ali tells him to come. The Great Hands then jump Elijah from behind. Elijah fends them off. Elija goes up the ramp and Agent Zero blocks Elijah's past. Tasha pushes Elijah. Elijah picks her up and moves her. Ali hits Elijah in the back with a guitar. 

Indi Hartwell says her match with Dani was a war. She says Dani beat her and she feels every bit of it. Indi says she's not cleared. She says she's trying to climb the ladder to the title but gets knocked down. She says Dani pushed her to her limits. Indi says she will prove she's the best Knockout in the division. She says one day, you will call her champ. 

Moose says he was close to winning the battle royal but didn't win. He says he never used his rematch clause though for the X-Division Title. He tells Santino to let him use his rematch clause then. Cedric Alexander comes in. Ced says he wants it and will revoke that. 

Kaz talks to an Elvis painting in the back. Kaz says he's one of the greatest of all time by beating a bear in Bear Bronson. He says Bear has impressed a lot of people but he's not a mark. He says this title is going nowhere. 

Steel Cage Match - Team NXT (Brooks Jensen, Channing Lorenzo, Lexis King, Tyriek Igwe & Tyson Dupont) vs. Team TNA (Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy, Mike Santana, Santino Marella & Steve Maclin)

Mike Santana rides a car into the arena. He and Brooks Jensen are first in. BJ tries to escape and Mike hits him. Mike knees him in the face. They trade punches. BJ is sent into the cage. Mike asai moonsaults him. Mike corner cannonballs BJ. 

Mike hits corner punches against the cage on BJ. Mike superplexes him. Lexis King is next in. Mike hits punches on King. King hits Mike with his cane. King tries to stick the cane in Mike's eyes. BJ pounds on Mike.

Steve Maclin is next in. Steve bangs the door off of BJ's head and flying knees King. King is hit in the back with his cane. King's head is banged off the top of the cage. He is then thrown down. Tyson Dupont is next in. Dupont hits dropkicks on Team TNA. He euros Mike then does a high spinebuster on Steve. King dropkicks Steve in the corner.

Matt Hardy is next in. Tyriek Igwe hits Matt before he enters. he ends Matt into the steps and bangs Matt's head off the steps. Mike is hit with a double suplex. Dupont chokeslams Steve down. Tyriek Igwe is next in but he was actually in the ring already.

BJ neckbreakers Steve. Dupont jumping stomps Steve. Jeff Hardy comes out next. He checks on Matt then goes into the cage. Jeff hits shots on the heels. Jeff hits a double stunner. BJ clips Jeff then hits knee drops on him. Steve is sent into the cage.

Stacks is next in. Stacks pounds on Mike then stomps him with King. The Righteous' music hits. They try to help Matt up. Dutch carries Mat to the back. Mike hits punches on the heels. Santino Marella is next in. The match now officially begins.

Santino hits punches on BJ then King. He drops Igwe and Dupont. Santino is knocked down and hit by Stacks. We go to break and return. Team NXT is posing on the cage. Team NXT gets up and attacks them. Santana stomps Stacks in the cornerand powerbombs him. Steve short arm lariats Stacks. Santino armbars Dupont and pulls fingers back. Steve sends BJ into the cage and germans Stacks. King knees Steve in the gut.

Santana chops Stacks and King. Igwe is sent into the cage. Santino sleepers BJ on the mat. We go to break and return. Igwe throws Mike from his shoulders. Stacks drops Steve chest first on the mat. Jeff hits a twist of fate. Mike backrolls into a cutter on King then Dupont splashes Mike for 2. Santino split stunners Dupont and BJ. 

Stacks drops Santino then Steve olympic slams Stacks. Stacks is hung upside down on the cage and Steve crosshairs spears him for 2. Steve gets on top of the cage. BJ and Stacks get on the top rope. Santino and Mike join in and we get a big tower of doom spot. 

Santino hiptosses BJ then hits the cobra on him. Mike spinning lariats BJ and pins him.

Thoughts: I didn't like Team TNA winning with a one man disadvantage, especially with Santino being one of the guys. I'd love to know what happened with Matt. It got a lot of time but there was only one minute before the next person came in so they kept things brief. It was okay enough but there was no blood, only one weapon used and no cage dives. The cage wasn't really big enough for all 10 men but that's no surprise.

Santino has Stacks cornered. Arianna Grace comes in and hugs Santino. Grace then low blows Santino. Stacks hits mounted corner punches on Santino. Arianna slaps Santino. Steve Maclin comes in and Stacks climbs out of the cage. Steve argues with Arianna. Arianna leaves the cage and says Mike Santana is probably a deadbeat like Santino.  

Thoughts: I never like these kinds of angles as they aren't believable. You can split two people up without these over the top actions.

We see The Righteous grab Matt Hardy after. He is waking up in the back. We see clips of The Righteous talking.Matt picks up one of his keychains in water and a shrine is set up for him. Vincent and Dutch walk in. Vincent says hello and says Matt is hurt. Vincent says they are here to help him. He says everything they do is for Matt. He says to help him help Matt. Vincent says they truly believe that The Hardy's can ascend even higher and become immortal. He says Matt just needs to trust him. He says maybe Matt can become one of the many. Dutch has a gift for Matt and Matt gets up and stumbles away. Dutch laughs. 

Overall thoughts: We had the biggest main event we've had in some time on this show. The cage match was okay but nothing too memorable. I liked The Angel Warrior's tag more than I though. The battle royal was just average and had a weird winner in Bear Bronson, who was not built up in any way. We also had a big turn with Arianna Grace turning on Santino. I would give this episode a 6 out of 10 as they tried here and gave us something a little different than usual. There was nothing great here but it was better than the usual offerings.
