Ivory Robyn talks to the girls in the tournament. Tiffany Nieves complains about Tyra Mae Steele, being invited, as she says she's an Olympian. Ivory says it's not them it's about Sherri Martel. She says if we don't allow craziness in the locker room and if you have issues, take it to the ring.
Sherri Martel Classic 1st Round - Londyn Dior vs Maya World
They lock up and pull each other's hair. Maya hides between the buckles. LD side headlock takeovers her. Maya headscissors her on the mat and does push-up's. Maya side headlock takeovers her and is put in a headscissors. LD shoulders her over. LD forearms her then pump kicks her. LD tilt-a-whirl slams her for 2.
LD backrolls Maya. Maya springboards into a casadora and rolls her into a double stomp for 2. Maya chokes her in the corner then foot chokes her. Maya suplexes her for 2. Maya chinlocks her. Maya rolls her and misses a double stomp. Maya spinning forearms her. LD lariats her over the top rope.
LD hits lariats on her then powerbombs her for 2. Maya back rack drops her and pins her.
Thoughts: It was a shorter one and it was just average. They gve LD a decent amount of offense in before she went down.
Tyra Mae Steele is interviewed in the back. She says it's an honor and says she looked up Sherri and she's a baddie. She is told she's facing Kalientita. Tyra says she's the boss and will take down anyone and everyone who is in her way. She says she's in her home town and will rock the house.
Sherri Martel Classic 1st Round - Kalientita vs Tyra Mae Steele
Tyra goes for the lock up and Kal backs up on the ropes. Tyra waistlock takedowns her and cartwheels off her back. Kal waistlocks her and Tyra throws her over. Tyra trips her and rolls her around by the legs. Tyra bow and arrows her.
Kali rolls her up for 2. Tyra misses a corner charge and Kal bottom rope tornado ddt's her for 1. Kal chinlocks her. Tyra hits shots to the gut. Kal boots her in the gut and piefaces her. Tyra lariats her and back elbows her. Tyra trips her then does a slam. Tyra does like a reverse olympic slam and wins.
Thoughts: It was a short one. Tyra was the favorite going in and picked up the win. Kal didn't get in much but tried to work with it.
Tyra asks where her gold medal is after.
Gigi Rey is interviewed. She was the runner up in this tournament last year. She says she's looking forward to her match. She says this year is her year. She says she's the first and only Glory champ and the first and only triple crown champ. She says winning this tournament is the last feather she needs to put in her camp to cement her as the greatest of all time. She says she's here to win and show why she's "The Money".
Sherri Martel Classic 1st Round - Tianna McKenzie vs Rache Chanel #5
They lock up. RC backs her up into the corner and poses. RC wristlocks her. Tia wristlocks her and RC side headlock takeovers her. Tia headscissors her then side headlock takeovers her. Tia armdrags her then dropkicks her. Tia armlocks her. RC throws her down backwards to break the hold and gets a 2 count.
Tia back elbows her. Tia knees her in the face from the apron then 2nd rope thesz presses her. Tia is thrown face first into the buckles. RC side kicks her from behind and hits a stroke for the win.
Thoughts: This also didn't get a lot of time which limited things. RC's side kick from behind near the finish didn't really that well here which hurt some of this. This wasn't that great. I did like some of Rache's heel mannerisms though and think it would have been fine with more time.
Queen Sharmell is interviewed. Sharmell says Sherri did so much for women's wrestling and we wouldn't be here without her. She says she was a close friend of Booker's too and it's great to pay homage to her. Sharmell says it means the world to her to have women want to come here and wrestle. Sharmell says she's keeping her eye on Tyra tonight and is rooting for everyone but Tiffany, as Tiffany and her feuded. Sharmell says all of the women are phenomenal and better be ready to get it done in the ring.
Tyra Mae Steele says she can't find her gold medal and asks Officer Jeff to find it. Jeff says they will get to the bottom of this.
Sherri Martel Classic 1st Round - Mystii Marks vs Gigi Rey
To say MM is the underdog here would be an underestimate.
They lock up. Rey wristlocks her. MM rolls out and reverses it. Rey headflips out of a wristlock and is thrown down backwards. Rey crucifixes her for 2. Rey then flying headscissors her.
Rey misses a corner charge and boots her out of the corner. Rey top rope crossbodies her by MM rolls through, picks her up and fallaway slams her. MM stomps on her and clubs her. Rey's head is banged off the mat for 2.
Rey sunset flips her and running knees her for 2. MM short arm lariats her for 2. MM armlocks her with a chinlock. Rey armdrags her then dropkicks her. Rey hits lariats and spinning heel kicks her. Rey kips up.
MM pop-up drops her for 2. MM then throws a tantrum. Rey roll her up for 2. Rey hits a bad michinoku driver for 2. Rey goes up top and is hit. Rey is in the powerbomb position and victory rolls her out of it and wins.
Thoughts: It was going okay up until the finishing section. That's where things got a little rough and hurt this. Gigi did pretty good otherwise and they made decent use of the time they did have.
Rache Chanel #5 is interviewed. She says she always knew she would move on to the 2nd round. She says if he she looks good, she'll feel good. She says if she feels good, they'll pay good. She says she needs to go fix her hair.
Sherri Martel Classic 1st Round - Kaylia Capri vs "Ladybird" Monica Monroe
KC backs her up in the corner. They trade waistlocks and KC backrolls her. MM crucifixes her then la magistral's her for 2. MM armlocks her. KC handstands out of a headscissors and side headlocks her.
MM armdrags her into an armlock. MM flips out of a monkey flip. KC forearms her. MM goes up and over her in the corner and running euros her in the corner. MM cartwheels and boots her in the head for 2. KC rolls her up for 2. MM's head is banged into the buckles and KC headbusters her for 2. MM flips out of a backdrop and backrolls her with a bridge to win.
Thoughts: MM won here as expected. MM was pretty athletic here though she could have been a bit cleaner. I thought it was the best match of the tournament so far.
Tiffany Nieves is interviewed. Tiff tells Emily the interviewer to shut up. She says The Sherri Martel Classic has never been classic but it's about to be bueno.
Sherri Martel Classic 1st Round - Mandy Wylde vs Tiffany Nieves
Tiff pushes her down off the lock up and slaps her. MW rolls her up. Tiff back elbows her and boots her in the corner. MW flying headscissors her. MW hits mounted corner punches. Tiff alley oops her on the top rope for 2. Tiff spinning side slams her for 2. Tiff spinebusters her. Tiff does a texas cloverleaf and MW rope breaks. Tiff hits a soul foot and wins.
Thoughts: It was basically a squash with MW getting little in before doing down.
Monica Monroe is interviewed in the back. She says her mind is all over the place but she's excited. he says she got further than she did last year. She says she knows what to look out for with Gigi but says she hasn't fought Tiffany before. She says everyone thinks she's the underdog but she says she will show the world that no one soars higher than Ladybird.
Sherilyn Guerrero, Eddie's daughter, comes out to do commentary.
Sherri Martel Classic 2nd Round - Maya World vs Rache Chanel #5 vs Tyra Mae Steele
Tyra hits lariats on both opponents. She takes down Maya. Maya knees Tyra. Tyra takes a double superkick. Tyra is double stomped on. Maya and RC stop each other's pin attempts. Tyra takes a double flpajack. Maya and RC fight.
Taya hits chest forearms on both opponents. Tyra does a spinebuster move on Maya then germans RC. Tyra gutwrench suplexes Maya. We cut to the tron and Tianna Sway has Tyra's medal. She says it looks expensive and wonders how much money she can get for it. Tyra runs to the back.
Maya gets a 2 count on RC. RC pump kicks Maya on the ropes. RC spinning lariats her from behind for 2. Maya back rack drops RC and pins her.
Thoughts: It was another short bout here. We got a few minutes with three girls before Tyra exited the match. It wasn't that clean of a bout and it just wasn't good.
Mystii Marks is interviewed in the back. She says she's p!ssed. She says ROW is her home and she was excited to come back to compete. She says she came close to making to the next round. She says she's home and coming for everything that was owed to her.
Sherri Martel Classic 2nd Round - "Ladybird" Monica Monroe vs Tiffany Nieves vs Gigi Rey
Tiff piefaces and slaps her opponents. Rey slaps Tiff. The girls try roll up's on each other. Tiff slides out to stall. Rey rolls up MM for 2. MM rolls up Rey for 2. Tiff sweeps Rey on the apron. Tiff pushes MM off the 2nd rope. Tiff gordbusters MM onto Rey. She then poses on her opponents, making a throne out of them.
Tiff tornado ddt's MM. Rey 2nd rope dropkicks Tiff. Rey sliding forearms Tiff for 2. MM finlay rolls Tiff. MM and Rey jump off the 2nd rope onto Tiff but MM slips. Rey throws MM out and gets a 2 count on Tiff. Tiff spinning side slams Rey.
MM is supposed to kick Rey in the face but misses. Tiff and MM swingig facebuster each other at the same time. Rey htis lariats on her opponents then neckbreakers Tiff. Rey spinning heel kicks MM for 2. Tiff hits soul foot on Rey. MM top rope swantons Tiff then asai moonsaults Rey and pins her.
Thoughts: MM got the upset win on her partner Rey, which should lead to something. It was fast paced bout. It had some sloppy moments and they really rushed here. I guess it was okay overall but it could and should have been a little better.
Tyra Mya Steele brings Tianna Sway out and bangs her head off the apron. Tyra throws Sway into the steps. Tyra germans Sway the low dropkicks her out of the ring. Ivory Robyn gives Tyra her medal back. Tyra asks Ivory if she can face the winner of the tournament and Ivory agrees.
Queen Sharmell comes out with the Sherri Martel Classic Title.
Sherri Martel Classic Finals - "Ladybird" Monica Monroe vs Maya World
MM side headlock takeovers her and is put in headscissors. MM side headlocks her. Maya sweeps her then MM swepes her. Maya flips over her and dances. Maya rolls her up for 2 and they try to dropkick each other at the same time. They then headflip up.
MM offers a handshake. Maya just boots and clubs her. Maya foot chokes her in the corner. MM shoulders her over then cartwheels over her. MM hits armdrags and running corner euros her. MM then cartwheels into a knee to the face for 2.
Maya goes out, MM goes for a tope and is forearmed. Maya chops her outside and bangs her head off the apron. Maya pulls MM's arms back. MM jawbreakers her. MM goes up and over, cartwheels, backflips and is dropkicked. Maya hits mounted forearms on her.
Maya germans her for 2. MM backrolls her and does a calf crusher variation with both legs. Maya does a border city stretch on her. They fight on the buckles and MM hurricanrana's her down. MM slingblades Maya. MM does an ushigoroshi for 2. Maya backslides her for 2. MM backdrops her. MM top rope swantons. Maya gets her knees up and Maya back rack drops her for 2.
MM superkicks her then hits a code red for 2. MM top rope swantons her and wins.
Thoughts: This was the one match on this show that got enough time to play out which helped things out. Monroe won as expected though they did a do a good tease of Maya possible winning it. The mathc was okay enough but nothing great.
Overall thoughts: One night tournaments run into certain problems and those problems were on display here. There were too many matches and not enough time, so everything was short for the most part. That caused the matches to be rushed which affected the quality. Maya and Monica also had to wrestle 3 times so they couldn't go all out or they'd be too tired for the final match. I thought they told a nice story with Monroe winning and that should possibly set up something with Gigi Rey down the line as the two partners go at it. I'd give this a 5 out of 10 and wouldn't recommend it.
