Next week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/12/ring-of-honor-tv-152013.html
Kevin Kelly says it was a great year for ROH with great matches. He talks about The Briscoes and shows us:
The Briscoes (Jay, Mark and Papa Briscoe) vs House of Truth (Michael Elgin, Roderick Strong and Truth Martini)
Cousin Jethro is with The Briscoes. Mike back elbows Jay and is dropkicked. Mike takes punches and headbutts from Mark. We cut ahead. Jay euros Mike. Truth knees Jay from the apron then trips him. Mike samoan drops Jay for 2.
Truth double chops Jay outside. Jay is worked on in the corner and RS hits corner spears on him. Truth boots Jay. Truth takes a shot and tags out. Mike slams Jay then elbow drops him for 2. RS hits a punch flurry on Jay in the corner. Jay back elbows him out of the corner then flatliners him into the 2nd buckle.
Truth pulls Mark down on a tag attempt. Papa goes after Truth. Truth runs to the back. RS stomps on Jay. Truth comes back out. Jay takes corner attacks. Mike delay suplexes Jay for 2. Truth misses a corner attakco n Jay and goes crotch first into the buckles.
Mark comes in and beats up on RS and Mike. Mark flips out of a back body drop and enzugiri's RS. Mark dropkicks Mike in the corner. Papa comes in and RS pounds on him. RS is pushed into a Mark superkick. Papa chokeslams RS. Jay slingshot plancha's RS outside.
Truth hits Papa from behind. Mike then hits Pap from behind. Mark tope con hilos Mike outside. Truth grabs salt but it gets knocked into his own face. Papa stunners Truth and pins him.
Thoughts: It was clipped so it's hard to know what this really looked like. What we got was fine with Papa chasing Truth around and eventually getting the win over him. The crowd was really dead for all of this though until Papa came in which hurt things.
Kevin Kelly talks about the three way tag at Final Battle 2012, which I reviewed here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2012/12/roh-final-battle-2012-ippv-review.html
We go to break and return. Kevin says everyone knows ROH athletes put it all on the line every time they fight. Kevin talks about Tomasso Ciampa blowing out his ACL and wrestling through it against Jay Lethal. He says he will be out for a year. He also shows us clips of Mike Mondo injuring his ankle and says he will be out for a year as well.
We then see:
7/21/2012 - ROH Title - Kevin Steen (c) vs Mike Mondo
I reviewed this here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2012/07/roh-tv-7212012.html
Kevin Kelly says it's been a year of transformation for Jay Lethal. We see clips of Kevin Steen spitting on Jay Lethal's mom. We then see Jay Lethal throwing Jim Cornette over a table due to it. We see clips of a Survival of the Fittest match from 10/27/2012. Davey Richards and Jay Lethal were the final two left and Jay pinned him to win. I reviewed this here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2012/10/ring-of-honor-tv-10272012-review.html
Kevin Kelly talks about the Match of the Year for this year. It's:
ROH 3/31/2012 Showdown in the Sun Day 2 - ROH Title - Davey Richards (c) vs Michael Elgin
I actually saw this one but decided to watch this again. I originally reviewed it here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2012/07/davey-richards-vs-michael-elgin-and.html
DR hits kicks on Mike and they shoulder battle. DR dropkicks him. Mike is pulled over the top and DR kicks him in the back on the apron. DR topes him. DR chest kicks him outside. DR sits up top and is chopped. DR is lariated down.
Mike stomps him and clubs his chest. Mike delay suplexes him. Mike legdrops him on the apron. Mike hits a hard knee to the gut. DR handsprings and is caught in the torture rack position. Mike then drops down on his butt.
Mike chops him over and clubs his back. DR jawbreakers him. Mike hit a northern lights suplex for 2. We go to break and return. Mike gets stuck up top. DR hits a totally disgusting top rope dragon suplex. Mike of course kicks out. DR ankle locks him and Mike ropebreaks.
DR hits chest kicks. Mike piefaces him. DR hits Kawada kicks. Mike hits hard knees to the chin and DR hits Kawada kicks. Mike hits more knees. DR chest kicks him several times. Mike backrolls him into a german for 2. Mike superkicks him and hits a nightmare pendulum for 2.
Mike then crossfaces him. Both men are tired out. DR drago nscrews him aroudn the 2nd rope. DR top rope double stomps him on the apron. DR then does another top rope double stomp for 2. DR spinning lariats him then exploders him for 2. DR step up enzugiri's him. DR hits slaps and takes a spinning forearm. Mike does a high angle sitout reverse ddt for 2.
Mike buckle bombs him. DR spinning high kicks him and takes a hard lariat. DR toyota rolls him into an ankle lock. Mike crossfaces him. DR tries a pin on him. DR runs at him and is hit with a knee to the face. Mike uraken's him then spinning sitout powerbombs him for 2. Mike crossfaces him. Kevin Kelly says it's the greatest match he has ever seen.
DR tries to roll out of the crossface and grabs the ankle lock again. DR shining wizardss him for 1. Mike gets up and DR hits kicks to the head for 2. DR buzzsaw kicks Mike and pins him.
Thoughts: I didn't like this one at all. The dragon suplex off the top really should have ended it. It was a brutal bump. Everything else after was unnecessary. They did do a good job of working the crossface and ankle lock though. They were also stiff with each other and had good intensity. This should have ended much earlier than it did though and it had all the hallmarks of a 2010's indy main event. I would have liked this a lot more without the top rope dragon suplex and probably would have put this over without that.
Kevin Kelly then closes the show and says he will see us next year. He says we will see matches from Final Battle next week.
Overall thoughts: They gave us a pretty good card here with The Briscoes, most of a Steen/Mondo match and most of Richards/Elgin. Yeah, two of the matches were replays, but at least they picked noteworthy stuff to show again. I wouldn't really recommend this one though as it's always best to see matches from their original airing and not on replays.
