CMLL 12/12/2025 Viernes Espectacular

The ring announcer is in the ring with two trophies and he talks.

Lighting Match - Fury Boy vs Kamelot

They lock up. Kam side headlocks him then Fury guillotines him. Fury side headlocks him. They wristlock each other and Fury armdrags him. Kam does a fireman's carry takeover and Fury armdrags him. Kam hip throws him then Fury hip throws him. Fury armbars him and Kam lifts him up.

Kam waistlocks takedowns him then shoulders him over. Fury splashes him. Kam rolls out of a lariat. Fury does a twisting seated corkscrew moonsault and armdrags him off of it. Fury hurricanrana's him the no hands tope con hilos him outside. Fury then top rope plancha's him outside.

Kam sends him into the rails. Kam back elbows and lariats him. Kam facekicks him. Fury chops him then Kam hits him in the gut. Kam flying single leg dropkicks him. 

Fury boots him out of the corner then takes an overhead suplex. Kam chops him in the corner. Fury flips out of the corner and armdrags him. Fury walks the ropes and 2nd rope diving headscissors him. Fury top rope springboard tornillo's him outside. 

Fury lariats him for 2. Fury is popped up into the buckles and Kam hits something like an olympic slam for 2. Fury dropkicks him in the knee then ripcord drops him from his shoulder. Fury top rope swantons him and pins him.

Thoughts: Fury did a little bit of his flying but not all of it. Kam didn't really impress. He's slower, more limited and not super athletic. This didn't have much of a flow to it and Kam's mask covers his face so it limits some of the personality he could show. This wasn't that good.

Fury poses on the ropes after and Kam shoves him down.

We see El Fantasma in the crowd.

El Audaz, Fugaz, Valiente Jr. vs Hijo de Stuka Jr., Infarto, Okumura

1st Fall - Inf throws down Fug off the lock up. Fug trips him from behind, front facelocks him and Inf tries a pin. They stand up, Inf trips him and they trade holds on the mat. Fug rolls over his back and armdrags him. Fug flying snapmares him then spinning reverse headscissors him from the mat. 

Aud and Oku go at it. Oku shoulders him over and shakes the ropes. Aud armdrags him then springboard headscissors him. Aud is flipped but headscissors Stuka off of it. Aud spin kicks Inf then he asai moonsaults into an armdrag on him. 

Oku and Val fight. Val flips off of him. Val plants off the ropes into a flip and armdrags him. Val is popped up and caught by Inf. Val flips and armdrags Stuka. Val top rope dragonrana's Inf. Oku cannonballs Val off the apron.

Fug toyota rolls Inf to pin him and Aud moonsaults Stuka off the buckles to pin him. Fugaz's team wins the fall.

KeMonito and KeMalito fight between falls. Monito and Malito miss corner charges. Monito 2nd rope crossbodies him then dropkicks him. Monito 619's him. Monito 2nd rope swantons him and his partners count a pin for him.

2nd Fall - Stuka and Fug go at it. They mess up a spot. Fug enzugiri's him from the apron, kicks down Inf then springboard diving headscissors Stuka. Oku takes an enzugiri and a springboard swanton from Aud. Val goes up top and Stuka pushes him down to the floor. Inf stomps Fug outside. Stuka sends Val into the rails. 

Stuka throws Aud then Oku tilt-a-whirl backbreakers Fug. Oku TKO's an opponent. Inf does a top rope butt drop on Aud and Stuka spinning sitout torture rack drops Val. The heels pick up triple pins. Okumura's team wins the fall.

Stuka and Malito grab Monito after. Monito takes a backbreaker + legdrop and the heels count a pin for Malito.

3rd Fall - Stuka corner lariats Val then basement dropkicks him in the back of the head. Val takes corner attacks and Inf corner basement dropkicks him. Aud is triple teamed. Aud takes running corner lariats then a spin kick from Oku. Oku reverse ddt's Aud. Val is triple stomped on by the heels. Stuka really pounds on Val. Val casadora rolls then headscissors Inf off of it. Val then step up tope con hilos Inf outside.

Fug sends Stuka to the apron. Stuka headbutt him then slingshot tornillo's Val outside. Oku then plancha's people outside. Aud flips to the ramp. Aud runs the ramp and flying headscissors Stuka. Fug step up diving headscissors Inf outside. Monito flying headscissors Malito then splashes him off the apron.

Val springboard diving headscissors Oku. Oku cutters him for 2. Val hits wasteland on Oku then top rope ssp's him for the pin. Fugaz's team wins the fall and match.

Thoughts: It was a good match. I get the sense Fugaz wasn't 100% here as he didn't do a ton. We got a lot of flying in this one though Stuka didn't get to show off so much. We also got a fight between the mascots between falls. This delivered as expected. Val's step up dive outside was so dangerous looking.

Lightning Match - Tessa Blanchard vs Zeuxis

Tess wristlocks Z. Z rolls out and reverses it. Tess kips up and side headlock takeovers her. Z headscissors her. Z trips her, ties up her legs and bow and arrows her. Tess goes up and over her then flying headscissors her. Z pulls Tess into the ropes on the apron and Tess goes down. 

Tess is sent into the rails. Z stomps her in the corner then head kicks her there. Z gets a 2 count on her. Z slaps her in the corner. Z is tripped into the ropes and Tess running back elbows her. Tess seems to have hurt her ankle. Tess clubs on her then is powerslammed on the apron.

Tess is sent into the rails. Tess dropkicks her out of the ring. Tess top rope plancha's her outside. Tess cutters Z inside for 2. Z running meteora's Tess for 2. Z misses a corner kick. Tess codebreakers her from the 2nd rope for 2. Z half-nelson slams her for 2. 

Tess high kicks her. Tess is caught off the 2nd rope and Z hits a lifting double underhook codebreaker on her for 2. Z misses a top rope moonsault. Tess top rope diving codebreakers her. Tess tiger drivers her and wins.

Thoughts: I didn't think it was that good. Tess hurt her ankle here and had to work around it for a bit. There wasn't a lot of flow and not much between the various spots. 

Gran Alternativa Seeding Battle Royal

Everyone fights in the corners. Futuro dropkicks Patnera in the back of the head. Xelhua tries to throw Yutani over the top. Yutani then tries to toss him over. Gallero and Xelhua trade shots. Barboza lariats Pantera over the top and eliminates him. Xelhua gorilla presses Yutani onto Explosivo. 

Gallero throws Xelhua over the top then Gallero is thrown over. Yutani rolls Barboza over the top. Futuro is slammed over the top by Explosivo. Explosivo is lariated over the top. Elemental and Yutani are the last two remaining.

Gran Alternativa 2025 Quarterfinals - Templario and Hijo del Pantera vs Atlantis Jr. and Xelhua

AJ = Atlantis Jr.

Xel and Temp go at it. They shake hands. Temp waistlock takedowns him. Xel ties his arms up then Temp trips him. Temp surfboards him. Xel trips Temp. Xel ties his legs up and does a neat surfboard variation. Xel sweeps him into a splash and they get up together.

AJ and Pant go at it. Pant slingshots into a nice armdrag on him. Pant goes up and over Xel in the corner and Temp top rope diving armdrags Xel. Temp topes AJ outside. Pant bottom rope asai moonsaults Xel outside. Pant walks up the buckles and flip dives onto everyone outside.

Temp pumping knees AJ inside. Pant's foot is swung into AJ's head. Xel is hit with a double superkick. Pant step up dropkicks Xel then top rope swantons him for 2. AJ's team hits stereo tilt-a-whirl backbreakers. Temp is monkey flipped onto Pant. Pant is then double thrown onto Temp. Pant and Temp kick out of pin attempts.

Pant rope walks and headflips as his opponents chase him. Temp powerbombs Xel. AJ takes a double enzugiri on the apron. Pant top rope splashes Xel and Temp flying space tigers AJ from the ramp to the inside for 2.AJ runs the ramp and crossbodies both opponents. AJ pins Temp. Xel ties up Pant's legs and lifts him then submits him. Atlantis Jr and Xelhua win.

Thoughts: It was shorter and definitely a little rushed. I think they did okay with what they got here. Xel busted out the funky submissions but Pantera didn't do anything too crazy. The crowd booed Atlantis.

Gran Alternativa 2025 First Round Match - Averno & Barboza vs. Euforia & Gallero

Av takes down Gal then Gal armdrags him. Gal up kicks him then flying elbows him. Barb top rope dropkicks Gal. Euf lariats Barb. Euf shoulders Av over then both get dropkicked when they butt heads. Barb facekicks Gal then slaps him. Gal chops him then dropkicks him out. Gal goes out and is double stomped on by his opponents. Euf is thrown into the rails. 

Gal is hit with a double flapjack then a double basement dropkick. Euf is hit with a double back elbow then a double boot. Gal is held for chops. Barb is hit with a stunner then a dropkick from the side. Gal tope con hilos him outside.

Euf powerslams Av for 2. Euf tries a 2nd rope diving headscissors but is powerbombed down. Gal death valley drivers Av for 2. Barb back rolls Euf then Euf misses a corner spear. Barb springboard tope con hilos him. Gal jay drillers Av inside and pins him. Gal superplexes Barb and pins him.

Thoughts: I was surprised to see Gallero pick up double pins here. Barboza had a nice springboard dive outside. Averno appears to have gotten hurt on an angel's wings. This was just an average match. 

Gran Alternativa 2025 First Round Match - Esfinge & Futuro vs. Explosivo & Titan

Ex step up enzugiri's Esf. Fut spinning bodyscissors Ex. Fut cartwheels over Titan then superkicks him. Ex springboard diving armdrags Fut. Ex springboard twisting crossbodies Esf then rolls into a dropkick on him. Esf springboard dropkicks him. Titan springboard crossbodies Esf, dropkicks him out then topes him. 

Fut goes up and over Ex. Fut then top rope moonsaults outside. Ex springboard plancha's everyone outside. Titan ducks Esf's lariat and jumping back kicks him. Fut running knees Titan. Ex 2nd rope dropkicks Fut. Esf corkscrew kicks Ex and all 4 are down.

Titan superkicks Esf. Titan rope walks then springboard splashes Esf. Ex springboard frogsplashes Esf for 2. Fut takes kicks from his opponents. Fut is double gordbustered onto Esf. Titan and Ex do a top rope meteora and a top rope double stomp for 2 counts. Titan gets stuck on the 2nd rope and Fut springboard hurricanrana's him down. Ex and Titan then are hit with a springboard splash and a top rope moonsault. Fut and Esf pick up stereo pins and wins the match.

Thoughts: It was rushed but had a ton of flying in it. I was sure they were setting up Explosivo and Titan to win here at one point. It wasn't anything too special but it wasn't boring. 

Gran Alternativa 2025 First Round Match - Angel de Oro & Yutani vs. El Elemental & Volador Jr.

Vol pulls away on a handshake with Yut. Yut shoulders him over. Yut dropkicks him. Elem chops down Yut. Oro flying headscissors Elem out. Oro spinning headscissors Vol down. Yut tope con hilos and Oro 2nd rope moonsaults out. Elem full nelson's Yut. Vol accidentally superkicks Elem when Yut moves. Oro and Yut do dives but their opponents get their knees up (or are supposed to anyway).

Yut asai moonsaults Elem and Oro michinoku drivers Vol for 2. Yut is caught up top. Oro then does a tower of doom spot where he gets his own partner superpelxed. Vol and Oro try pins at the same time. Vol superkicks Oro. Elem alley oops Yut on the buckles. Oro and Yut get stereo 2 counts. Oro hits a candian destoyer on Elem then Yut top rope frogsplashes Vol. Yutani and Oro pick up stereo pins to win.

Thoughts: Yutani's team won as expected. It was a bit hard to follow with this one with some of the camera cuts. I didn't like the tower of doom spot where Oro got his own partner superplexed. Oro and Yutani tries a bunch of moves at the same time. This would have been a lot better with more time.

Gran Alternativa 2025 Semi Final Match - Euforia & Gallero vs. Atlantis Jr. & Xelhua

AJ = Atlantis Jr.

Gal's team attacks as they enter the ring. Euf throws AJ into the rails outside. Gal lariats Xel. Xel is sent into the rails. Euf tries to unmask AJ then Gal tries as well. Euf corner lariats Xel. Gal dropkicks Xel in the crotch on the buckles for 2. Xel lariats Gal then dropkicks him. AJ does a tope while Xel plancha's outside. 

Gal corner lariats Xel then stomps on his chest. Xel ties up Gal's legs and lifts him. Euf boots him over. AJ superkicks Euf. Xel sitout powerbombs Gal then AJ top rope splashes Gal to pin him. Xel northern lights suplexes Euf and pins him. Xelhua's team wins.

Thoughts: It was a short, rushed waste of time. It was over before it really even got started here. 

Gran Alternativa 2025 Semi Final Match - Angel de Oro & Yutani vs. Esfinge & Futuro

Oro's team attacks their opponents on the ramp. Oro pop up drops Fut and kicks him. Oro slingshot swantons Esf. Fut takes a spinebuster into an outside to inside 2nd rope moonsault from Yut. Fut superkicks Yut. Esf monkey flips Yut and Oro for 2 counts.

Fut springboard tornillo armdrags Oro. Fut springboard tornillo's Oro outside. Esf is knocked off the apron then Yut tope con hilos him. Yut and Fut chops. Yut pop-up sitout powerbombs Fut. Everyone does fast offense then all 4 end up down.

Oro's team takes stereo superkicks. Esf and Fut do a springboard splash and a moonsault off the ropes for 2 counts. Esf superkicks Oro. Fut top rope crossbodies Yut. Oro beach breaks Esf and Yut 2nd rope styles clashes Fut. Yutani's team picks up stereo pins to win.

Thoughts: It was too fast of a match at times. I couldn't even type up what went on and it was totally rushed. Oro's team got the win as expected here to make a heel team vs face team final. I wouldn't be shocked if Oro's team wins the tournament.

CMLL World Light Heavyweight Title Match - Mistico (c) vs. Soberano Jr.

Sob pulls his hand away on the handshake. Sob pushes him down off the lock up. Mist armdrags him. Mist armdrags Sob then Sob armdrags back. They stand off. Mist stomps Sob's foot on a test of strength and they do a double knuckle lock. Mist monkey flips him. Mist flips out of a monkey flip. Mist headstand spinning headscissors Sob down. Mist spinning armdrags Sob while on his shoulders. Mist topes Sob.

They go back in and Sob dropkicks Mist out. Sob then tope con hilos him. Mist step up enzugiri's Sob on the apron. Mist springboards and is superkicked in mid-air. Mist is sent out then is thrown into the rails. Euforia, Sob's 2nd, takes a cheap shot at Mist outside.

Sob steps up off the rails and headscissors Mist down. Euf then facekicks Mist outside. Sob 619's Mist under the bottom rope. Sob unties Mist's mask. They go to the ramp and Sob lariats him over the top to the inside. Sob misses a corner splash. Mist superkicks him and 619's him. Mist top rope diving headscissors him. Mist then tornillo's him outside. They get back in and Mist spinning headscissors him out. Mist walks up the buckles and plancha's Sob outside.

Mist gets a 2 count on the inside. Mist hurricanrana's Sob for 2. Sob spins Mist off his back with a knee to the face. Sob then fosbury flops him outside. Sob goes up top and Mist walks up the buckles and hits a top rope spanish fly. Sob canadian destroyers Mist for 2. 

Sob is crotched on the top rope. Mist springboard headscissors him down. Mist moonsaults off the top but Sob gets his feet up. Mist no sells it and just powerslams him. Mist misses a springboard swanton. Sob top rope tornillo's Mist. Sob then does la mistica to Mist. Mist escapes. Sob blocks a la mistica with a square driver for 2. Mist then la mistica's Sob and Sob immediately taps out.

Thoughts: I didn't like this one much. They'd do a big spot, lay around for a while then just go to the next big spot. There was just too much laying around and too many big pauses between the moves. There also wasn't much going on beyond all that as they didn't do a lot of wrestling otherwise. The selling wasn't good at the end either.

Sob talks on the mic after. He says he wanted to test himself against the greatest luchador Mexico has. He says he couldn't win the title but says  he will seek revenge. He says he won't rest until he becomes champ. He says Mist was the best today. Sob then puts the belt on him.  

Overall thoughts: This was basically 2 shows in one. We had the usual card and the Gran Alternativa matches. I never enjoy CMLL tournaments. They put too many matches on the card so everything is short and rushed which hurts the quality. Some of these matches were so fast it was hard to even follow what was going on. I didn't care much for the main as there wasn't much but big spots and lots of laying around. The Fugaz tag was the best match of the night to me. I wouldn't recommend this one at all and would give it a 4 out of 10.
