AEW World's End 2025: Zero Hour 12/28/2025
I reviewed World's End here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/12/aew-worlds-end-12272025.html
We are in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Nigel McGuinness, Tony Schiavone and Excalibur are on commentary.
Jeff Jarrett, Renee Paquette, RJ City and Lexy Nair talk about the show on the ramp.
Adam Cole is on webcam at his messy house. He says hopefully we will see more of him in 2026. He picks Mox and Takeshita to win. He says he doesn't know how will win but says we will see the best wrestling on the planet.
Sisters Of Sin (Julia Hart & Skye Blue) vs Hyan & Maya World
SB and Hy go at it. Hy waistlock takedowns her then SB throws her down backwards. Hy avoids stomps and armdrags SB. SB armdrags her back. Hy offers a handshake and SB facekicks her. Hy takes a double flapjack. Hy hits wasteland on Hart and legdrops her for 2.
They botch some spot with Hart being laid on the top rope. Maya slingshot swantons her. Hart and SB are thrown out. Hy and Maya try stereo topes but get hit. Hy and SB take stereo bridging twisting neckbreakers on the floor. Hart bangs Hy's head off the mat.
Hart corner lariats Hy. SB cartwheels into a forearm on Hy. SB superkicks Hy in the face. Hart tarantula's Hy and SB dropkicks her while she's tied up for 2.
Hy suplexes SB. Hy kicks her over. Maya and Hart get in. Maya flying forearms and dropkicks Hart. Maya flying back elbows her in the corner. Maya 2nd rope dropkicks Hart. Maya rolls Hart into a double stomp for 2.
Hart facekicks Hy. SB superkicks Hy. SB and Maya trade forearms. SB hits a code red on Maya. Hy takes superkicks and takes a double team pendulum side slam. Hy is pinned.
Thoughts: It wasn't that good. Maya's team botched up a spot where Hart was supposed to lay on the top rope. Maya and Hyan are really not impressing so far. They both need to drop weight and I can't help but feel they are only here to spite Dakota Kai.
Eddie Kingston vs. Zack Gibson
Zack does his own intro. He says he's Liverpool's #1 and says they are grizzled young veterans. Eddie's music then hits before he can say more.
Eddie is double teamed by The Vet's but fights them off. Eddie hits punches on Zack and back elbows him. Zack boots him in the gut and bangs his head off the buckles. Zack hits forearms and Eddie headbutts him. James Drake trips Eddie. Eddie grabs him then Zack dives on Eddie's head.
Zack foot chokes Eddie. They trade forearms. Zack piefaces him. They trade chops. Eddie lariats him. Eddie hits chops on Zack in the corner. Drake pulls down Eddie. Zack 2nd rope diving codebreakers Eddie. Zack hits forearms, then slaps and yells at him. Eddie hits a bunch of bad slaps and Zack slaps back. Eddie ddt's Zack for the win.
Thoughts: It went longer than it needed to as the outcome as never in doubt here. Zack didn't have a bad showing though and put out a good showing.
The Vet's choke Eddie with a scarf after. Ortiz makes his big return after a long time with a sock full of rocks. The Vet's run.
Bandido & Mascara Dorada vs. The Don Callis Family (Mark Davis & Rocky Romero)
Band hits leg kicks on Mark. Band side headlocks him. Mark runs through a chop and shoulders Band over. Mark chops Band. Mark slams and sentons him. Mark then kneels on him. Dorada and RR get in. Dorada springboard crossbodies him. Dorada corkscrew headscissors RR. Dorada walks up the buckles, kicks Mark and does a seated flip into an armdrag on RR. Dorada's tope is caught by Mark. Dorada is kicked in the back and dumped on the floor.
Band flying headscissors RR outside. Mark forearms Band and jumps at him in the corner. RR basement dropkicks Dorada inside. Mark slams Droada then misses a senton. Band hits punches on RR. Band double boots the heels out of the corner. Dorada is caught in mid-air. Band top rope tornillos everyone over.
Droada sitout dominators RR and Band top rope frogsplashes RR for 2. Mark gamengirti's Band and RR running shiranui's Band for 2. Band takes corner attacks. Dorada corkscrew headscissors Mark. RR takes a reverse GTS then a top rope SSP from Dorada. Dorada is popped up into a tornillo on Mark outside. Band hits a 21plex on RR and pins him.
Thoughts: It was fine. The heels did what they were supposed to do and the faces flew around a bit before going home.
Excalibur hints that Dorada and Band may become a team.
We get an El Clon video. It says he's coming to Collision in January 2026.
Mike Bailey, Kevin Knight, Jack Perry and Luchasaurus vs The Demand (Ricochet, Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona) and Josh Alexander
Don Callis talks to The Demand. He says he can't stand Perry. He says he knows how to get to Perry - take out the dinosaur and clip his nuts. Ricochet says he has an idea. Don says they roll tonight.
Lucha and Jack get nailed as they head down the ramp. Jack is suplexed on the ramp. Kevin and Mike plancha the heels outside. Josh takes a double hiptoss then a double lariat over the top. Ric is double hiptossed onto his buddies outside. Mike bangs Josh's head off the buckles. Mike is pushed off the top, trips on the apron and lands hard on the floor.
Ric headbutt drops Mike. Kaun chops Mike in the corner. Ric rolling sentons Mike. Kaun stomps on Mike in the corner. Mike boots Kaun out of the corner then 2nd rope dropkicks him. Mike standing moonsault double knee drops Josh. Jack Perry finally gets on the apron. Jack knocks the heels over and pulls Kaun over the top rope. Jack rebound lariats Ric.
Jack jumping ddt's Josh for 2. Jack is hit with a codebreaker > uranage > running ssp for 2. Kevin springboard lariats Kaun. Jack cradles Ric for 2. Ric spinning lariats Jack and death valley drivers him for 2. Jack Perry's music hits again and Luchasaurus comes back out with his arm taped out. Lucha lariats the heels in the aisle.
Lucha lariats Ric in the ring. Mike triangle moonsaults Toa outside. Lucha chokeslams Ric. Jack does an assisted flying knee to Ric and pins him.
Thoughts: I'm not a big fan of the heels losing when it was basically 4v2 for a large part of this. Mike took an awful bump from the top to the apron and the floor. It was a fast paced match with a lot of action.
Overall thoughts: It was a pre-show, so it was only going to be so good. The women's match was weak and Hyan/Maya didn't impress. Eddie/Zack wasn't bad but it went long. I was fine with the Bandido/Dorada tag. I didn't like the main event here as the heels essentially lost 4v2. I was glad this show didn't roll over onto the main PPV. I'd give it a 5 out of 10 as it was average and they didn't really have any exclusive interviews/promos to hype up tonight's main PPV.
