WWE Clash in Paris 8/31/2025

WWE Clash in Paris 8/31/2025

Thoughts: I didn't like it. It was slow from the start and Roman won as expected. The first half was mostly just punches. It kind of felt like a 1980's WWF style match at times.

Paul Heyman checks on Reed after. Roman then goes for Paul. Paul tries to suck up. Roman has Paul give him the shoe-la-fala. Roman guillotine chokes Paul then just lets go.  Roman signs his shoes and throws them into the crowd. Bron Breakker then spears and spears Roman through the commentary table. Roman is helped up and Bron runs the aisle and spears him.

Reed then top rope splashes Roman. Roman takes a tsunami while strapped to a stretcher twice then Jey comes out and gets attacked too.

Jelly Roll is in the crowd.

Adam Pearce yells at Bron and Reed in the back. Adam kicks them both out for the rest of the night.

WWE Tag Titles - The Wyatt Sicks (Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis) (c) vs. The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford)

Ford and AD argue over who gets in first. AD hits punches on Joe then shoulders him over. Ford gets in and dropkicks Dex. Ford goes up and over then does flips. Dex then crawls at him. Ford hits a big lariat. Joe takes a double flapjack. B-Fab gets on the apron. Ford kicks Dex from the apron.

Howdy sister abigail's Ford on the floor. Ford takes a suplex + powerbomb combo and is pinned.

Thoughts: There weren't clear faces and heels here so it was a bit unusual. I was surprised to see The Wyatt's cheat to win but I guess they are going to go heel with them. What we got was fine here but nothing too memorable.

WWE Women's Intercontinental Title - Becky Lynch (c) vs Nikki Bella

Bella hits forearms and is kneed in the gut. BL goes out then Bella baseball slides her as she tries to get back in. Bella baseball slides out again and is sent into the steps. Bella's head is banged off the commentary table then she is sent into the rails. BL 2nd rope legdrops her.

BL kneels on her on the 2nd rope. BL stomps on her in the corner. BL exploders her. Bella hits forearms. BL lariats her for 2. BL chinlocks her on her back then she is rammed into the corner. BL running lariats her for 2.

Bella hits forearms and they throw bad strikes at each other. BL spin kicks her then Bella hits lariats. Bella dropkicks her. Bella baseball slides BL and bangs her head off the commentary tables.  Bella corner lariats her and totally misses a 2nd rope enzugiri, being multiple feet away from BL. Bella armbars her. BL then wins with a backslide.

Thoughts: It wasn't good as expected. Bella did an enzugiri to nowhere at one point off the buckles which looked bad and she tried to do some of Becky's moves but couldn't do those right either. There was no great logic or story in this either. Bella lost as expected here.

Jey Uso is getting iced up in the back from the attack earlier. Adam asks if Jey is good to go. Jey says he can go. Adam says medical is saying different. He says he doesn't care and is bringing home the title tonight.

Donnybrook Match - Sheamus vs Rusev

The hockey fight. Sheamus takes him down and pounds on him. Rusev then does the same. They go out and Rusev hits forearms. Rusev is sent into the post. Sheamus is sent into the post. They set up 2 tables next to each other and Rusev is suplexed on the floor. Rusev is sent into the rails.

Rusev hits Sheamus with a kendo stick several times. Rusev clubs Sheamus' chest. They botch a uranage backbreaker then Sheamus hits on the 2nd attempt. Sheamus hits kendo stick shots on Rusev then running lariats him with it.

Rusev spinning heel kicks a chair into Sheamus for 2. Rusev chairs Sheamus. Rusev boots Sheamus in the face several times. They battle over a chair and Sheamus pumping knees him for 2. Sheamus chest clubs Rusev on the apron.

Sheamus is sent into a bar top. Sheamus clubs Rusev on the bar top. Sheamus hits Rusev in the ches with a shillelagh. Rusev is sent into a chair between the buckles. Sheamus hits a razor's edge. Sheamus goes up top for a dive and Rusev hits him with the kendo stick in the gut. Sheamus is then sent into the steps.

Rusev and Sheamus get on steps and Sheamus is uranage'd through the bar. Rusev camel clutches him and Sheamus drops him backwards onto chairs. They climb on whiskey barrels and Rusev camel clutches him up on top of them. Sheamus hits white noise off the barrels through 2 tables.

Sheamus brogue kicks Rusev in the ring for 2. Rusev pump kicks him then Sheamus hits a pumping knee. Rusev pump kicks him again in the corner. Rusev hits Sheamus in the back with a shillelagh for 2. Rusev camel clutches him with part of a shillelagh. Sheamus then taps out.

Thoughts: It was alright but just not great. Rusev isn't a real fiery wrestler and he's just missing something. They tried but it should have been shorter and stiffer.

John Cena vs Logan Paul

They lock up and LP side headlocks him. Cena side headlocks him. They do a double knuckle lock and LP punches him in the gut. LP hits more shots to the gut. LP flying euros him in the corner. Cena hits an angel's wings for 2. They trade shots. LP does a pop-up euro for 2. LP does Cena's flying shoulderblocks. LP blue thunder's him. LP's bleeding from the nose. LP goes for the five knuckle shuffle but Cena AA's him for 2.

Cena hits headbutts and hurricanrana's him. Cena then hits a code red for 2. LP drops him with a big punch for 2. LP hits a top rope frogsplash twice for 2. LP does a five knuckle shuffle. Cena rolls out of an AA and does a styles clash for 2.

LP pushes Cena off the buckles. Cena catches LP's crossbody then hits an AA. LP hits a big punch and Cena hits an AA to win.

Thoughts: It was a moved based match. Logan did a bunch of Cena's moves here and Cena mostly spammed finishers. I didn't think it was that good. Most wrestlers work smarter as they get older but Cena works dumber. I thought there was a lot they could have worked with here but they just chose to do big moves instead. This also went longer than it needed to. Cena won as expected here.

Cena then greets the kid he insulted and kisses his wife.

They announce 30,434 as the attendance.

Jackie tries to interview Seth Rollins with Reed, Bron and Paul gone. Seth says he knows where she is going and he's two steps ahead. He says he's alone tonight and asks if she remembers Wrestlemania or who won the main event of it. He says he chose The Vision and doesn't need The Vision. He says he doesn't need anyone. He says maybe he doesn't deserve to be champ if he can't keep the title by himself.

All 3 men stare at Seth then beat him up together. LA pulls Punk away to stomp Seth. Punk then gets mad. Jey says all 3 of them should beat up Jey. Seth takes corner attacks. LA wants to put Seth through a table. Punk says, "Jey, get the tables".

Jey superkicks Punk outside. LA lariats Seth over the rail. Jey superkicks LA. Jey uppercuts Seth in the crowd and Seth hits him in his injured ribs. LA hits punches on Seth in the crowd. Punk jumps off the rail onto LA and Seth.

Seth is laying on the commentary table. LA misses a top rope elbow drop and goes through the table. Jey topes Seth outside. Seth superkicks Jey then Jey superkicks Seth back. Jey goes for the spear but is hit with a pedigree for 2.

Seth misses a phoenix splash and Jey hits superkicks on him. Jey spears him. Jey hits a top rope splash and Punk breaks the pin up with a top rope elbow drop. Punk hits a go to sleep on Jey then Seth curbstomps Punk for 2.

Seth tells Punk he wants him to go away. Seth curbstomps Jey outside then curbstomps LA on the commentary table. Seth misses a curbstomp on Punk on a chair. Punk hits a GTS and Seth falls onto Punk's shoulders. Punk then gets low blowed by a masked person. The masked person is Becky Lynch.
Punk is curbstomped on a chair and Seth wins.

Thoughts: It was okay enough for the main but not much more. Becky Lynch helped Seth get the pin by low-blowing Punk. That makes sense since they are both heels but the problem with them now officially being together on TV is that unless someone switches brands, they can't really end that. And that will eventually be a problem. I didn't expect Seth to lose his title here and he didn't. This seemingly leads to another Seth vs Punk match

Overall thoughts: It was a long and dragged out PPV. It went about 3 hours and 50 minutes despite only having 6 matches. There was way too much downtime here. None of the matches were that great and everything seemed a bit extra slower tonight. I liked Sheamus/Rusev to some degree, the main was probably the best thing on here and the tag match was okay. Roman/Reed was not that interesting and went long. The women's match was a disaster and Cena's match was more of him spamming finishers. I'd give this a slight 6 out of 10 overall and the show really made me question not watching PPV's after they happen.

Gigi Gianni vs Gabriella Cruz

BK Rhythm gets on the mic before the match. She says her match with Cruz was beginners match and she was going to win. She tells Gigi to mess her up.

Gigi pulls Cruz own off the lock up and hits corner forearms. Gigi corner lariats her then is rolled up for 2. Cruz rolls her up for 2 then Gigi pump kicks her. Gigi is pulled over the top. Cruz crossbodies Gigi and her buddies outside but is caught and thrown on the floor.

Gigi snapmares Cruz and kicks her in the back. Gigi basement dropkicks her for 2. Gigi corner spears her then foot chokes her. Cruz on the 2nd rope and Gigi knee presses her down. Gigi poses on Cruz on the ropes. BK chokes Cruz on the ropes.

Gigi chinlocks her. Cruz throws her over and dropkicks her. Cruz dropkicks her in the knee then step up enzugiri's her. Cruz lariats  Gigi then facebusters her for 2. Gigi neckbreakers her over the back.

Cruz does a rolling spear and BK grabs Cruz. Cruz escapes the la mistica drops Gigi for the win.

Thoughts: It was about average. Gigi had control for most of this and we didn't get a lot of offense from Cruz.

The Environmentalists do a promo. Thy say Big Rig and Jones don't care about the planet and are everything wrong with the planet. Scout says they will treat them like they treat the planet - with no respect. Sprout says animals have feelings and says they are about to turn Jones and Big Rig into leftovers like they do with their food.

The Environmentalists (Sprout Greens and Scout Parker) vs Big Rigs and Bourbon (Jessie Jones and Big Rig Betty)

The faces run to the ring and the heels make them chase them. The heels run into each other outside and get beaten up. The heels are thrown into each other. Jones hits mounted shots on Scout. Betty running back splashes Greens then facebusters her. Betty pulls Greens' neck forward then Jones hits a sliding lariat.

Scout is slingshotted into the ring and Jones hits mounted shots. Jones running back elbows her then hits an elbow flurry in the corner. Scout takes a double back elbow and a double elbow drop for 2.

Sprout hites Betty with a stick on the apron. Betty takes boots from both in the corner. Sprout chinlocks Betty then bangs Betty's face off the mat. Sprout split-legged butt drops Betty. Betty's head is banged off of Scout's foot. Scout flying corner lariats Betty then corner splashes her.

Scout boots Betty in the face. Betty russian legsweeps Sprout. Jones gets in and corner lariats Scout. Jones running back elbows her. Jones hits shots. Jones running back elbows both opponents in the corner. Jones hits a stroke on Scout.

The heels are nearly sent into each other then both are rolled up and pinned.

The heels attack the faces with a cardboard sign and stick after. The faces stop them and get them out of the ring. Betty gets on the mic after. She says she know McClane saw what the heels did. She says the heels did everything they could to take them out. Jones says her stick has more experienced than she could ever be blessed to have. Jones says the heels didn't come into their match with any respect and that's why they had to beat it into them.

Thoughts: It got a lot of time and it was fine with the heels being heels and the faces making comebacks. The heels did a nice job of running scared from the faces early. I would have had the heels win to set up a big blowoff match as it feels like this was the end of this program.

We get a video on Tormenta. We are told she's on medical leave and won't be able to compete. They say she's half-way on the road to recovery and say WOW fans are waiting for her next tile defense, so she's not being stripped.

Next week's show has Nikki Nashville vs The Classmaster.

Paola Mayfield says she has sympathy for Tormenta and wishes her a speedy recover. She says she will take advantage of her being out and will do whatever it takes to become WOW champ.

Sibley Scoles is at the WOW Training Academy. Coach Campanelli is having Top Tier work out. Coach says she wanted the people to see what Top Tier goes through everyday. She says her team is working fast and strong. Kandi says they always feel great and says greatness only. Coach is asked if anyone can come here. Coach says you are welcome to come if you have it in you but this is exclusive Top Tier training.

Top Tier does a pre-match promo in the ring. Coach gets on the mic. She says Monsters and Metal's name is real cute. She says they were never friends and it doesn't matter if Top Tier are friends as they are a team, this is a sport and winning is what matters. Coach says that's what drives them. Kandi asks Chainsaw how it feels to have the thing she loves most in life ripped apart. She says she felt good when she ripped the head off the doll. She said she did it once and would do it again. Glitter says to bring the freaks out and says they will never be able to sweat with Top Tier.

Top Tier (Coach Campanelli, Kandi Krush and Gloria Glitter) vs Monsters and Metal (Daisy Lane, Chainsaw and Fury)

The faces run to the ring and everyone fights. The heels are caught between the faces outside and Chain lariats them all over. Chain slams Krush. Chain lariats her and legdrops her for 2.

Glitter is put on the top rope and Chain stomach claws her. Lane corner splashes Glitter. Fury corner splashes Glitter too and running hip attacks her for 2. Fury rides Glitter on the 2nd rope with a legchoke. Fury running knees Glitter for 2.

Fury ties up Glitter on the mat and Glitter eye rakes her. They seemingly cut to an edited different commentary track during this then Coach basement dropkicks her. Fury takes a double back elbow and a double elbow drop. Glitter walks on Fury then misses an elbow drop.

Lane basement dropkicks Krush. Lane elbow drops Coach for 2. Lane misses a handspring back elbow in the corner. Coach kneels on Lane's back and poses. Lane 2nd rope crossbodies Coach. Coach knees Lane in the gut. Glitter then knees Lane in the gut. Glitter gordbusters Lane then does the stair stepper on her back.

Glitter camel clutches Lane. Lane takes a double backdrop. Krush twisting drops Lane for 2. Krush chinlocks her. Fury comes in and knocks down the heels. Krush takes a sky high for 2.

Glitter and Coach's heads are banged together by Chain. Fury backhands Krush then Fury chokeslams Krush. Chain spinning drops Lane on Krush and Lane picks up the pin.

Thoughts: Monsters and Metal are a new team so they needed the win here and with this being non-title, it made sense that they would win. It wasn't bad and I thought Chain was effective here as the powerhouse. The result here definitely means we are getting a Trios Titles match between these two.

Top Tier grab Lane's doll after. Krush pulls limbs off the doll then pulls the head off and throws it at her. Chain flips out and the faces go after the heels.

Overall thoughts: It was an okay show. Nothing was bad here and I'd say either of the two tags were the best matches on the show. There weren't a ton of wrestlers overall on this show. Next week should be the final episode of the season and I'm surprised nothing big was set up for it. I'd give this one a 5 out of 10 overall.

Next week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/09/aew-collision-962025.html

Jon Moxley gets on the apron and has words for DG. He seems to have advice for him.

Blake hits punches and knees on DG. DG back elbows him. DG hits forearms and chops. Blake dropkicks him then springboard dropkicks him in the back. Blake slides out and is facekicked on the floor. Lee Johnson distracts DG then Blake topes DG through the ropes.

Blake presses DG's face into the rail top. Blake moonsaults DG off the rail. Blake kneels on DG's face then steps on it. Blake pushes his knuckle in DG's eye (DG seemed to get something in his eye on Dynamite this week). Blake side headlocks him.

DG backdrops Blake. They trade forearms. Blake is chopped then takes a spinning neckbreaker for 2. Blake springboard ddt's him for 2. Blake does a springboard 450 but DG catches him with a guillotine. DG lets go and piledrivers Blake. DG pins Blake for the win.

Thoughts:
It was fine. It didn't overstay it's welcome, Blake was happy to play the heels and DG sold whatever is going is going with his eye. It was very random though.

Tony Schiavone interviews Garcia in the ring. DG says he doesn't want to talk about what Mox told him in the ring. DG says Mox has everything he wants and he can't get it until he goes through him. He challenges him for next week.

Wheeler Yuta gets on the mic. Yuta says to be careful what you wish for as The Death Riders accept DG's challenge. Yuta says they slayed the real American Dragon and won't have any issues with him.

The Conglomeration is interviewed (Holo, Ishii and Kyle with Strong). Strong complains about Kyle teaming with Ishii. Kyle says they will get their hands on Don Callis and his family and friends tonight. Kyle says they are a legit family. Kyle says Ishii asked for nothing but for Kyle to stand next to him and fight.

KOR and Josh trade forearms. KOR knees him in the gut and then guillotines him. Josh ankle locks him while KOR is in the air. KOR rolls him and ankle locks him back.

Josh rolls up KOR for 2. KOR axe kicks then suplexes Josh for 2. KOR then goes for the armbar. Josh takes shots from both opponents then takes an Ishii backdrop. Josh takes a high/low for 2. KOR forearms KF out then misses a flying knee off the apron, going into the chair. Ishii headbutts Josh.

Josh facekicks Ishii then spinning forearms him. Kyle trips Ishii from the outside. Josh low blows Ishii then hits a straightjacket piledriver to win.

Thoughts: It was a decent match as expected. KF got his eye area busted open. I had no real issues with this and it was what I expected. Josh didn't do a lot of his trademark moves despite winning.

Roderick Strong checks on KORY after then KOR checks on Ishii.

Jamie Hayter and Thekla are fighting in the back. Thek takes a hard throw into trash cans.

We see clips from earlier of Mother Wayne and Kip Sabian talking. Killswitch walks in. Kip blames Kill for a recent loss. Kip shows off his black eye and blames Kill for it.

Jay Lethal vs Hologram

Jay shoulders Holo over. Jay handsprings and is rolled up. Jay gets a pin attempt in. Holo botches a flip in and they do a stand off.

They escape each other's headlocks. Jay backbreakers him. They botch two spots in a row and Holo is dropped face first on a suplex lift.

We go to PiP break and return. Jay lariats him on the ropes. Holo hits a step up enzugiri and is forearmed. Jay punches him in the gut. Holo gets a 2 count on him and is suplexed. Jay springboard dropkicks Holo then topes him outside. Holo then topes him.

Holo cradle shocks him. Holo is caught off a springboard and takes a flatliner. Jay tries a top rope elbow drop but Holo tries a pin off of it. Holo rolls him then leglocks him.

Jay figure fours him. Jay superkicks him in the knee. Jay handsprings into a backcracker. Holo does a spinning torture rack sitout bomb and wins.

Thoughts: It wasn't good. There was a bunch of botches early and the two just didn't click.

We see Hologram coding on the screen then see someone in a Hologram mask that says "soon".

Ricochet tells The Hurt Syndicate that he doesn't forgive or forget. He says him and his crew had to make an example of them at Forbidden Door. The Hurt Syndicate reply. MVP says Ric succeeded in putting himself in an unwinninable situation. He says they will crack through the gates and put him through real agony. Ric says The Hurt's will respect them.

Alex Windsor vs Ashley Vox

Alex pushes her off the lock up. Vox hits forearms. Alex suplexes her then blue thunders her. Alex powerbombs her then sharpshooters her. Vox taps out.

Thoughts: It was a quick one. I popped for Alex yelling "Windsor" and thought she had a nice powerbomb.

Tony Schiavone interviews Alex Windsor in the ring. He says Mone said she'd put her in a hospital bed if she tried to ride the money train again. Alex says she's one p!ssed off little woman. Alex says she made Mone tap. Alex gets mad about Mone making jokes about Will's health. She says she crossed the line. She tells her to put her money where her mouth is and face her in Philly. She says there's a price to pay when you mess with Alex Windsor.

Lexi interviews Don Callis and Mark Briscoe outside earlier in the day. Mark says it's been 73 hours since he issued a challenge for Fletcher's TNT Title and hasn't heard back. Don says they are busy as there's an ocean of talent who would also like a shot at Kyle. Don says Kyle is getting ready for an 8-man on Dynamite. He says he respects Mark. He says he will pick a member of his family to wrestle Mark and we'll see how he does. Mark asks if he gets a TNT Title shot if he beats his boy and Don agrees.

FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) vs JD Drake and Adam Priest

Dax and AP lock up. AP dragon screws him. Dax hammerlocks him, AP waistlocks him then Dax side headlocks him. Dax shoulders AP over twice. AP hits elbow drops to the knee. JD chops Dax in the leg.

JD splashes Dax's leg. Dax punches AP then FTR double team AP in the corner. Dax euros AP. AP dropkicks Cash. AP suplexes Cash then JD slingshot swantons Cash. JD corner lariats Cash then chops him down. JD is crotched up top then lariated down. We go to PiP break and return.

JD top rope moonsaults Cash for 2. JD takes a shatter machine. AP step up enzugiri's Dax then chops and euros Cash. AP hits chops on Cash Dax punches AP. Dax hits a chop and punch combo on AP in the corner. AP hits chops on Dax. Dax chops and punches him.

AP germans Dax. Dax lariats AP. AP is sent into the post shoulder first. Dax taps out AP with a border city stretch.

Thoughts: It was a random one but the work wasn't bad. FTR got the win as expected. I'm surprised it didn't get more time than it did.

FTR talk on the mic after. Cash says it's not about Cope, it's that they should be 11x tag champs. He says Cope always wants to make it about him. He says this is about FTR and their legacy. Cash says they end this in Toronto then Cash drops the mic while trying to hand it to Dax.

Dax says Stoke isn't with them because of Cope and Cage. He says this could have and should have been a dream match. He says Cope ruined it. He says this is a charity exhibition match. Dax says they finally have to end their careers in Cope's/Cage's hometown in Toronto. Dax says not to make them end Cope's and Cage's lives.

We see clips of ROH Death Before Dishonor. Sammy Guevarra says he's champ again but has a real friend. Rush tells him welcome to his new family. Rush says if you mess with the bull, you get the horns.

JR hits punches. JB boots him out of the corner and 2nd rope dropkicks him. JR hits a nice punch and Bill goes down for 2. Bryan Keith and Austin Gunn get on the apron. JR lariats Keith. Bill blackhole slams JR and wins.

Thoughts: The first half was very boring but the 2nd half was better. I wish Keith wasn't involved in the finish here as I think they had the right idea and worked this pretty well otherwise.

Skyflight does a promo outside earlier in the day. Sky says they are 2-0 but can do better. They then joke that they can go 3-0. Darius asks what's so funny. He says they need to get serious and stop treating this like a joke. Leila then swears and Daniels takes money from her for it.

Gabe Kidd does a taped promo on Darby. He says his mom put him in a psych house and he tried to take his own life. He challenges Darby for a match and says he wants to take his soul.

We see Darby Allin skateboarding at a skate park. He talks about building a skate park in Georgia and tries to raise money for it.

Skye shake, rattles and rolls Queen.

Toni and Skye trade. Toni running lariats Skye. Hart's nose is busted open. Mina hits forearms on Hart then she slingblades her. Mina texas cloverleaf's Hart's legs then drives Hart's back into her knees. Hart rolls up Mina for 2.

Mina spinning forearms Hart. Mina figure fours Hart. Hart reverses it. Mina fights off the heels. Mina spinning back elbows BS then lifting sitout reverse ddt's her to win.

Thoughts: It didn't get enough time for all the people involved in it. There were a bunch of sloppy moments near the end and Hart got her nose busted open. I didn't think it was that good.

Thekla comes out and beats up Mina. Queen tries to help and gets beaten up too.

Toni takes a double gordbuster and a double superkick. Thekla spears Toni. Mina takes a double superkick. Thekla spears Mina. Thekla then spears Queen.

Overall thoughts
: It was your usual Collision. The stars didn't wrestle. Most of the matches were random and you missed nothing if you skipped this one. I found it pretty hard to get through and Lethal and some of the girls had an off night here. There was some okay wrestling here atleast as I liked the first two matches and Bill/Juice. I'd give it a 5 out of 10 total though and wouldn't recommend it.

Lyra Valkyria vs Kairi Sane

Sane side headlock takeovers her. Lyra cartwheels out of an arm throw. Lyra side headlocks her. Lyra legsweeps her and basement dropkicks her for 2. Sane axe kicks her over the 2nd rope.

Lyra misses a top rope crossbody. Sane alabama slams her for 2. Sane hits forearms on Lyra. Lyra hits kicks. Sane urakens her for 2. Sane top rope crossbodies Lyra, Lyra back rolls through then hits a cradle shock to win.

Thoughts:
It underperformed. Sane hit some really weak chops here and it was just not the athletic and faster paced match it should have been. I'm not sure what's been going on with Sane since she returned from injury. At first I thought she just had ring rust, but the effort is missing now too.

Sheamus vs Kit Wilson

Sheamus gets a big pop and gets on the mic. He says the crowd is gonna make him start crying if he keeps this up. He says it's great to be back in Ireland and says he's in the greatest city in the world. He has the crowd sign an Irish song.

Kit hits shots on Sheamus before he's ready. Sheamus pushes him off of him. Kit hits a big slap and taunts him. Sheamus chases him around the ring then slams him. Sheamus goes for his chest clubs but Kit jawbreakers him. Kit dropkicks him off the apron into the commentary table.

Sheamus hits mounted corner punches and Kit eye pokes him. Sheamus misses a corner charge and goes into the post. Kit tornado ddt's him. Kit hits a top rope twisting elbow drop for 2. Kit slaps him. Sheamus hits lariats. Sheamus spinning backbreakers him.

Kit double boots him out of the corner and Sheamus pumping knees him from the side. Sheamus clubs on Kit's chest on the apron. Sheamus hits a brogue kick and wins.

Thoughts: They made it clear that Sheamus was winning here and he did. It went longer than it needed to and wasn't anything too special. We were all just waiting for Kit to go down and he eventually did.

Sheamus grabs a kid after and poses with him.

Overall thoughts:
There were only 2 new matches here as usual along with various recaps. Neither match was that good in my opinion and it was only noteworthy for Sheamus getting to wrestle at home.

Ring of Honor Death Before Dishonor 2025 8/29/2025

Ring of Honor Death Before Dishonor 2025 8/29/2025

Note - I didn't see the TV leading up to this and I promise I would have a completely different looking review if I did.

We are in Philadelphia, PA at the former ECW Arena. This is running against Smackdown and CMLL's Grand Prix show with a bunch of AEW stars. This show ended up being free to watch due to technical issues.

Pre-show:

Thoughts:
It was your usual 4-way. It was fine. They kept things moving and didn't overdo it too much while keeping a fast pace and coming up with some creative spots.

The Conglomeration (Hologram and Tomohiro Ishii) vs. Premier Athletes (Ariya Daivari and Tony Nese)

Mark Sterling talks before the match and says Ari and Nese are the extreme innovators who made this building what it is. He then gives them ECW themed nicknames. He says he was asked if they wanted to hang their names in the rafters and he said no way as the people don't deserve people of this caliber.

Ari side headlocks TI and they shoulder battle. TI grabs him by the finger and Ari slaps the back of his head. TI no sells Ari's chops then chops him down. Ari hits forearms then is dropped with one. TI shoulders Ari over.

Thoughts: It went a little long and that pumphandle fire thunder shouldn't have been kicked out of but it was alright enough otherwise and an okay choice for the opener.

ROH World Six Man Tag Titles - The Sons of Texas (Marshall Von Erich, Ross Von Erich, and Sammy Guevara) (c) vs. Shane Taylor Promotions (Shane Taylor, Carlie Bravo, and Capt. Shawn Dean)

Bravo and SG fight. SG hits Dean on the apron then is stomped on by Bravo. SG flips over Bravo then dropkicks him. SG suplexes him for 1. Ross is sent into the steps. Marsh hits forearms on Dean then takes a jumping knee. Marsh spinning lariats Dean. SG hits a top rope crossbody on The Infantry. He enzugiri's Dean in the corner then hits a diving springboard cutter. SG fosbury flops Marsh on accident outside.

SG takes a backdrop + neckbreaker combo. Shane hits a big punch on SG then SG takes a double curbstomp. SG is pinned.

Thoughts:
The crowd was super into Shane's crew for unknown reasons. It didn't get a ton of time but what we got was fine. Shane's crew finally wins something after years and years of jobbing.

ROH Women's Pure Title Tournament Quarterfinal Match - Taya Valkyrie vs. Queen Aminata

They shake hands. Taya quickly uses a rope break. Queen waistlocks her and Taya uses a second rope break. Taya side headlocks her. Queen shakes her butt in Taya's face then snapmares her. Queen then bangs Taya's face off her butt. Queen running knees her.

Taya hits back elbows then high kicks her in the back of the head. Taya sliding germans her. Queen's legs are banged off the post. Taya legdrops Queen. Taya blue thunders her for 2.

Queen then headbutts her down and wins.

Thoughts: This was not a pure rules style match whatsoever. Taya looked like a fool here burning rope breaks for no real reason then lost over it. I didn't like this.

Deonna Purrazzo then comes out for some reason. She goes face to face with Queen and maybe piefaces her.

Blake Christian and Lee Johnson vs. The Kingdom (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett)

I think The Kingdom are supposed to be the faces here and I don't know how that's going to work. Blake and Lee hit kicks off the handshake and take back elbows and lariats. Lee and Blake take lariats over the top. Lee and Blake try to leave and get hit in the aisle.

Matt does a big suicide dive on the heels. Matt corner splashes Lee. Matt dropkicks Lee. Lee takes a pop-up punch. Mike hits machine gun chops on both. Mike misses a running back elbow in the corner. Lee backdrops Mike on the apron.

Mike is laid on top of the rail and Blake splashes him from the apron. Jay Lethal is watching in the back and Mike is double teamed in the corner. Blake springboard lariats Mike for 2.

Matt hits a rolling neckbreaker on Blake then asai moonsaults him for 2.Mike and Lee trade pin attempts. Lee superkicks him. Mike spinning forearms him. Blake and Lee are on their opponents backs and The Kingdom hits a double protonpack.

Blake takes a death valley driver and Taven running knees Blake. Matt says he wants to f*ckin kill Blake. Matt is pulled out. Mike takes a double stomp to the back + death valley driver on the floor.

Matt superkicks Blake then springbaord enzugiri's Lee. Matt goes for an asai moonsault and is low blowed. Matt takes a top rope double stomp on the back + rolling death valley driver and is pinned.

Thoughts: They definitely overdid it some here but they did go all out and had an action packed match. The Kingdom kind of were faces here but they weren't real face like. It was definitely an indy style match but I think I was okay with this.

ROH Pure Title - Lee Moriarty (c) vs Xelhua

Xel's dad SWAT is in the crowd.

They lock up and go to the ropees. Xel trips him, hooks his legs and stands on his arms before falling back. Lee ropebreaks. Lee shoulder throws Xel. Lee trips Xel then Xel headstand spinning headscissors him down twice. Lee armdrags Xel.

Xel ties the arms up. The ref gets between them and Lee punches him. Xel punches him and is warned. Lee jumps over the ref and dropkicks Xel. Lee boots and stomps him in the corner.

Lee border city stretches him. Xel cradles him for 2. Xel spinning backbreakers Lee then la rosa driver's him for 2. Lee does an octopus. Xel is out of ropebreaks and has to tap out while being tied up in the ropes to a border city stretch.

Thoughts: I liked it. It wasn't a limb work based match but it was a submissions based match. They traded some nice holds here, Xel was a bit stiffer than usual and they did a lot of cool moves as expected. Lee also won as expected.

Fight Without Honor - Paul Walter Hauser vs. Q. T. Marshall

QT snapmares him and talk trash. Paul hammerlock slams QT. Paul ducks a lariat, atomic drops him and russian legsweeps him. Paul then headbutt drops him. Paul cannonballs him off the apron.

Paul is busted open. QT brings out a barbed wire chair and a barbed wire bat. He hits Paul with the bat. QT pushes the wire bat into Paul's head. Paul boots a chair into QT's face and then chairs him. Aaron Solo comes in and hits Paul with a kendo stick.

QT tries to cutter Paul through the glass but just ends up going into it alone. Paul AA's QT into the glass for 2. Paul pours tacks in the ring. QT superkicks him then powerbombs him on tacks.

QT scoops up glass and spreads it on a table. QT then gets on the mic. He says he told Paul he's not a pro wrestler. Paul low blows him and rolls him up for 2. QT punches Paul in the nuts. QT 2nd rope cutters PAul through the glass on the table and wins.

Thoughts: They did too much here especially since Paul isn't truly a wrestler. They had the right idea and both did what they were supposed to do but it went too far.

QT rubs Paul on the head after.

ROH Tag Titles - Sammy Guevara and Rush (c) vs. The Outrunners (Turbo Floyd and Truth Magnum)

Rush is SG's opponent for some odd reason.

SG backs up Truth in the corner and taunts him. SG side headlocks him. SG avoids a dropkick and struts. Truth hiptosses and dropkicks him. Rush and Turbo lock up. Rush knees and chops him. Rush shoulders him overthne is shouldred over. Skipping ahead SG chinlocks Truth in the ropes then Rush sends Truth into the steps and rails.

Everyone gets a shot in and SG takes a total recall. Rush takes a double back elbow. Truth is pushed off the top. Rush powoerslams Turbo into the buckles. Rush does his corner dropkicks on Turbo. SG swantons Turbo and pins him.

Thoughts: The match was fine but SG choosing Rush as his partner is a weird one. Sammy has all kinds of friends in ROH yet chooses a heel to team with. I don't like The Runners losing but this promotion clearly sees them as nothing but a lower card face team.

Sammy hugs Dralistico and Rush after, seemingly joining LFI. The Von Erich's come down. Sammy hugs The VE's and turns on them with LFI. The VE's then get stomped.

ROH Title - Bandido (c) vs Hechicero

Band is dragon screwed over the 2nd rope and Hech stomps down on the leg as it hangs. Hech top rope flying elbows Band for 2. Band hits kicks on Hech then armbreakers him. Hech blocks a code red off the apron and spinning drops him off the apron, though he bangs right off of Hech's back.

Hech knees Band in the gut. Hech rolls him into a pin attempt and half-crab. Hech sunset bombs Band. Hech spinning lariats him then Band poisonrana's him. Band and Hech headbutt battle on their knees. They then chop and punch each other on their knees.

They go up top and Band top rope moonsault fallaway slams him. Hech blocks a 21 plex and Band wins with a chaos theory german to win.

Thoughts: This got a ton of time at 37:12 and could have went half as long as it did without losing anything. It wasn't the usual spotfest due to Hech being here which was good. If you were looking for a great story, this wasn't really it. The match was fine just far from the classic they shot for.

ROH Women's Title - Athena (c) vs Mina Shirakawa

Athena's minions do like a soul train style dance off for her entrance. Ath has Billie Starkz with her and The Blue Meanie is also with Athena for unknown reasons. They dance in the aisle. The crowd sings "Fly Eagles Fly" and Mina dances along with it.

They lock up and trade holds quickly. Mina ducks a lariat and shimmies. Ath cartwheels out of a headscissors and Ath goes to the ropes. Mina dances and spin kicks her in the gut. They trade forearms on their knees then get up and trade. Mina hits leg kicks and Ath does a tombstone for 2. Ath has her laying on her shoulders and Mina spinning ddt's her. Mina top rope diving slingblades her for 2.

Ath does a neckbreaker and high knees her. Ath then koji clutches her. Ath then superkicks her. Both go down. Mina does an electric chair spinning flapjack on her then figure fours her. They slap each other while the hold is on. Ath reverses it then Mina rolls her over.

Mina is up top and gets forearmed. Ath 2nd rope superplexes her. Ath tries a pop-up but Mina sits down on her. Mina hits spinning forearms then urakens her. Mina lifting reverse ddt's her for 2. Ath does a bubba bomb and armbars her. Mina tries a pin out of it. Ath does a nasty straightjacket sitout powerbomb. Ath top rope diving o-face's her and wins.

Thoughts:
Ath won as expected at 26:01 to continue her neverending reign. Mina worked the leg and did a pretty good job of following up on it. Ath worked the hand early and forgot about it until the finish. It was better than I expected and all things considered it was an okay main event.

Overall thoughts: This went 3 hours and 48 minutes. The first two matches were fine. Queen vs Taya wasn't good with Taya looking like a fool for using her rope breaks quickly. The Kingdom returned and lost like they always do but it was an okay indy style match. I liked Lee vx Xelhua and it was a submissions based match as expected. Paul/QT had the right idea but it went too far. Sammy Guevara turned heel and beat The Outrunners with Rush. The story didn't make much sense but the match was fine. Band/Hech went 37 minutes for some reason and it was an okay wrestling match but it had no great story to it. The main could have been a bit better if Ath had followed up on the hand work a little more but it was a good enough main event.

I would give this a 7 out of 10 overall. AEW/ROH shows are so long and have so many matches that you can usually find something you like. Similar to poker, the three of kind with all 2's is still better than a pair of aces and having a bunch of decent matches helps get a higher rating with me than a card where they go all out but end up doing too much and bring down the match.

WWE Smackdown 8/29/2025

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/08/wwe-smackdown-8222025.html

Next week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/09/wwe-smackdown-952025.html

We are in Lyon, France.

Michael Cole and Wade Barrett are on commentary.

We see various wrestlers arrive. We see clips of Logan Paul attacking John Cena last week then we see Logan Paul arrive.

Logan Paul comes out. He says Cena thinks he's a parasite and thinks the fans do too. He brags and takes credit for how well WWE is doing. He goes off on John Cena in French. He says wrestling is changing and if you don't change with him, you will get left behind.

John Cena comes out. Cena gets the big intro. Cena says the fans set the pace and they won't get left behind. He says Logan hasn't tried to understand what they actually do around here. He says if Logan did his homework, he'd find out he's a wannabe. He says Logan isn't a disruptor but is standing in the ring with one. Cena says he was knocking people out with brass knucks 20 years ago.  He says Logan is a dollar store John Cena.

Cena said he saw a list of the Top 25 influencers and says Logan wasn't on it. He says Logan isn't here to save wrestling, he's here to save his own @ss. Cena and Logan both talk in French. Cena says he's real unlike Logan. He says everyone is disgusted with Logan.

He says he wants to teach him respect. He leaves the ring. He goes up to a kid and says he's sorry, the same kid I think he insulted months ago. He says he was having a bad day. Logan says this segment is a charity case. Logan tells him to wrap it up.

Cena says Logan better polish his game against him or else he won't ruin wrestling, wrestling will ruin him.

Thoughts: Again, this Cena face stuff would work a lot better if he wasn't doing the complete opposite a few months ago. And that wasn't any more believable this than was.

The Street Profits and B-Fab are interviewed. Dawkins says they have to focus and the titles are theirs. Ford says Melo ain't him and The Miz is all talk.

Bo Dallas goes up to them. He asks if they are really family as The Wyatt Sicks are. He says they will find if they are each other's brothers when they fail.

Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair come out. Alba Fyre and Chelsea Green beat them up in the aisle.

Chelsea Green vs Alexa Bliss

AB pounds on her. Alba gets on the apron and AB goes after her. Flair had to be helped to the back during the break. AB  hits mounted shots on Alba and throws Green in. AB stands on Green's back. AB double knee drops Green then misses a rolling senton.

Thoughts: It was about what you would expect from these two. It was fine. Green lost again here which isn't good but I'm not surprised. I'm not sure what's going on with Flair.

Bliss and Alba pound on Bliss after. Charlotte Flair comes out limping. She drops Alba with a lariat. Flair chops Green then takes a killswitch. Alba gori bombs AB.

Sami Zayn is interviewed. Sami says when he was on Raw, he wasn't the best version of himself. He says he was in his own head. He says the way he feels tonight is the way he felt when he headlined Wrestlemania. He says he feels totally confident. He says there's no better place to do it in Lyon then he talks in French.

We get an Aleister Black video on Damian Priest. He says maybe it's time to take off the mask and show him what hell loos like. He says he wants to show the whole world how misguided he is. He says he will be on his chest at night telling him, "I warned you".

Damian Priest is interviewed. He says Black comes off educated and says he wants to be like him. He says he doesn't make empty threats. He says him doing so shows how unprepared he is for this fight. He says he will teach him a lot about pain and he says he will enjoy every bit of violence he inflicts on him when they fight.

Shane Helms covers up but Orton RKO's him too. Drew then retreats.

Melo Don't Miz talk in the back. Melo says Miz stole his win the last 2 weeks and he can't do it again. Miz says what's the problem as they are winning. Miz says they share their glory as a team and says they have lightning in a bottle. Miz does his lines. Bo Dallas comes in. He says there's always different perceptions but perceptions aren't reality. Melo tells him not to write a reality check that he can't cash.

Randy Orton and Nick Aldis talk in the back. Nick complains about him attacking security. He gives Nick whiskey. R-Truth comes in and asks if he will drink it. Nick says he will after the day he has had.

The Wyatt Sicks comes out. Miz is distracted and is forearmed off the apron. Melo then takes a sky high + neckbreaker combo and is pinned.

Thoughts: It was a decent tag. Miz and Melo were supposed to be the heels but it might as well have been a face vs face match here. Miz and Melo are really starting to gel and they have something with the team.

Bo Dallas stares down The Profits after. Jade Cargill goes up top Tiffany Stratton. She says she's the #1 contender to her title. Tiff takes credit for it. Jade says Tiff walks around like she's some huge threat when she can snap her. Tiff says she's undefeated in 2025. Jade says that dies when she beats her along with the fantasy of them being on the same level.

Sami rolls him up for 2 then exploders him in the corner. Solo superkicks Sami. Sami helluva kicks Solo twice and gets the pin.

Thoughts:
The match had a bunch of shenanigans and the first half of it was mostly various punches. I don't think it was the best match they could have had and it was a bit lazy. I didn't think it was that good of a match and it's hard to buy the excitement for Sami being US champ when his goal has been to win the world title (though they tried to write that off). I'm sure Sami will be alright but once they do another Fatu/Uso vs MFT's match, I'm not sure what's really left for that group to do.

Overall thoughts: The only real thing of note here was Sami beating Solo for the US Title and that was a bit hard to get excited about. We only had four matches here, and one lasted just seconds. The opener was fine. Michin/Kiana was bogus. The tag match was alright. I didn't think the main was the best effort from Sami or Solo. As has been the case for a while now, I don't think it was that good of an episode of Smackdown and there's hardly anything worth seeing here. This show is so far behind Raw at the moment and it's going to take some major kind of draft to shake things up. I'd give this a 4 out of 10 and wouldn't recommend it.

WWE Superstars 1/24/2014

Aksana distracts Brie and Brie is swept off the 2nd rope. Nikki boots Aksana, sends her into the rails then hits a backbreaker. Brie running knees Fox. Brie facebusters her and wins.

Thoughts:
It wasn't that good with Brie and Fox not doing a ton and not looking that good doing it. This was all very simple offense and Brie still ended up slipping off the 2nd rope here.

Los Matadores (Diego and Fernando) and Sin Cara vs 3MB (Drew McIntyre, Heath Slater & Jinder Mahal)

The faces have El Torito with them. A Matadore blocks Heath's boot and hurricanrana's him. Heath is then monkey flipped. Heath's partners pull him out of the ring on a double team. The Matadores then tope the heels and then Cara does a tope as well.

Torito double jump crossbodies Jinder and Heath outside.

Drew takes an enzugiri from Cara then Cara top rope swantons him for the win.

Thoughts: It didn't really get enough time and wasn't anything too special. The Matadores got very little offense in here and we didn't see Cara until the finishing stretch. This should have been better than it was.

Overall thoughts: There were only 2 new matches as usual along with a bunch of recaps. Neither match was that good with the women's match being bad and the men's match was nowhere near what it should have been. I would not recommend this one.

Thoughts: This got a lot of time at over 10 minutes, so the younger girls got a lot of time here to do their thing. Aya looked the best of them as expected. The match went well. Nobody botches anything and it was a decent match for what it was.

Aya and Akira talk to each other on the mic after.

Sare double stomps her for 2 then fisherman suplexes her for 2. Sare hits a top rope diving double stomp and wins.

Thoughts: I liked it. It was a good fight with the two stiffing each other and both fighting hard. There were lots of hard shots thrown in this one and they showed some good aggression at times. This was easily one of Ranna's best matches so far.

They then fight ore after. Ran grabs her by the hair and Sare shoves her title in her face.

After the match, Anou talks on the mic and grabs her by the hair before letting go.

Thoughts: I didn't like the no selling at the end but it was a solid match otherwise. The two had a heavyweight style match with shoulderblock battles and lots of chops. I didn't expect much out of this but it worked out well and it ended up being a decent main.

Ami then talks on the mic after to close the show.

Overall thoughts: This block in the GP looked pretty good on paper and it made for a good show today. The opener was fine with nobody botching anything and Aya looking good. Boz/Hime was a squash as expected. Suzu/Momo was okay. Sareee/Ranna was probably the match of the night as the two threw a bunch of stiff kicks and made it look like a real fight at times. Miyu went for the upset against Anou but was beaten in an okay match. Momo/Konami was a match with two similar wrestlers and they had a decent match. The main was pretty good with Saya and Ami having a heavyweight battle which Ami won. I'd give this a 7 out of 10. Nothing was bad and we had three pretty good matches with Sareee/Ranna standing out. This was a good show and it beat my expectations.
