GCW 3/31/2022 - Joey Janela's Spring Break 6 Part 1

GCW 3/31/2022 - Joey Janela's Spring Break 6 Part 1

GCW Tag Team Titles - Second Gear Crew (Matthew Justice & Mance Warner) vs The Briscoes vs Nick Gage

Gage put on a bunch of weight and his partner for this (Matt Tremont) was unable to make the show, so he's fighting alone.

The Briscoes and SGC butt heads and fight then Mark dropkicks MJ through the ropes. Mark and Jay throw chairs at MJ's head then Jay neckbreakers Mance. Mance chokeslams Jay through a door bridged on chairs. MAnce sits in a chair and Jay flip dives him while he sits on it. Nick spinebusters Mark then Nick spears Mance through a door. Nick then drops an elbow vader bomb style on a door on Mance.

Nick stabs Mance in the head with a table shard then Slade comes out. He throws Nick a pizza cutter and says he will be Nick's partner. Nick carves up Mance. Slade then gets a pizza cutter and uses it on Mance. slade then cuts his own head with it and wipes Mance's blood on his head. Mance then gets a double pizza cutter to the head. Jay facekicks Nick then Slade takes a neckbreaker/powerbomb combo.

Another door is brought out and bridged on chairs. Nick uses a staple gun on Mance, stapling Mance's tongue to a door. Nick then piledrivers MJ off the 2nd rope through a door and Nick odly tries to pin Lance for 2. Nick then piledrivers MJ off the apron through a door but misses most of the door in a nasty bump.

The Briscoes beat up Mance and hit a jaydriller  and then Mark hits a froggybow for 2. Slade takes on the Briscoes 1v2 then takes a hard Jay lariat. Slade then takes a doomsay device for the Briscoes win.

It was what you would expect with some crazy spots, some blood and some hardcore stuff. I thought it was entertaining. It didn't drag and they didn't overdo it. the piledriver off the apron was sick and I like Slade, so I was cool with him coming in.

Mickie James vs Allie Katch

They got off to a faster pace and traded some chops. MJ trapped her head with her legs in the corner then got pulled out and powerbombed. MJ runs in the corner then Allie lifts her body up and buttdrops her chest. Allie then corner cannonballs her.

Allie finds a door under the ring. The door gets bridged over chairs and MJ barely is able to flapjack her through it. Allie and MJ both grab each other below the belt then headbutt each other. Allie then piledrivers her for 2. MJ kisses her then jumps up for a ddt and wins it.

This wasn't much of a match. It was mostly just here for the shock factor and sleaze and definitely accomplished that one.

Allie cuts a promo after, telling the crowd to respect Mickie and not boo her and says she had the first women's match on Spring Break. She promises (or threatens) that there will be more.

Scramble - Nick Wayne vs Jordan Oliver vs Jack Cartwheel vs Ninja Mack vs Gringo Loco vs Alec Price vs Jimmy Lloyd

Everyone hits kicks to start then Ninja misses a corkscrew. Everyone tries a flip and they do a 7 way stand off.  Prince hits some pumping knees on people then took a triple superkick. They messed up a triple dive then Gringo tope on hilo'd everyone. Gringo hangs from the top rope and Price double stomps him off the top and Jordan then slingshot cutters Price. Lloyd hits a spinning high kick and a release back body drop on Oliver. Jack does a weird slingshot splash on Lloyd.

Mack chops Gringo in the gut then Wayne dragon suplexes Mack. Price picks up Wayne like a burning hammer but bangs his face off the top rope. Llow and Price then exchange canadian destroyer style flip moves. Wayne and oliver trade strikes. Price jumps up for a hurricanrana but is powerbombed down. Mack does a nice corkscrew flip on Jack.

Mack takes a top rope sitout powerbomb from Gringo then Gringo does a fosbury flop on the outside. Wayne does a roll into a code red on Gringo. Jack sideways flipping fireman's carries Lloyd then does a flying space tiger drop on everyone. Wayne then does a top rope 630 off the top to the outside. Wayne then wins it with a springboard cutter on Lloyd.

It was going to be total insanity and spot-fu and it was. Tons of dives and crazy moves here. Little logic, but it accomplished what it was designed to do.

X-Pac vs Joey Janela

Joey is wearing Razor Ramon tights and the announcers argue over whether it is to honor Razor or to anger x-Pac with them.

JJ beats up Pac in the corner and evades a spin kick. JJ goes for a hurricanrana but gets si-out powerbombed. Pac then hits la silla off the apron. Pac then gets popped up into the post. JJ beats up on Pac for a bit then Pac tornado ddt's him off the 2nd rope. Pac hits a nice spinning high kick then a spinning heel kick. Pac then hits a bronco buster.

JJ avoids a facebuster then JJ death valley drivers him on the apron. A door gets set up between two chairs on the outside and Waltman somehow ends up flipping onto it, but it wasn't clear. Pac hits a canadian destroyer and hit a facebuster. They clothesline each other at the same time. A door is bridged between two chairs in the ring. X-Pac facebusters JJ off the top through them but honestly goes through it more than JJ does. JJ of course kicks out.

JJ brainbusters Pac off the top for 2. JJ then top rope double stomps a door onto Pac for 2. JJ goes up top and gets chaired then falls off onto a bridged door on the outside. Pac chairs JJ in the head. JJ then knees him i nthe nuts and wins it.

This was not good. They kicked out of and did way too much and the finish was just stupid. It started out okay and could have been decent if it was cut half-way through, but it just got worse as it went on.

Pac says he let the people down after for losing. He says he loves to do this even though his body hates it. Pac says GCW is his family and he will take a bullet for the wrestlers on the roster. He says he will be back and isn't done yet.

GCW World Title: Jon Moxley vs. AJ Gray

Slow start here. and AJ spinning heel kicks him. They trade forearms and AJ hits a face kick. AJ then tope con hilo's him on the outside. AJ hits a chop outside and they brawl into the back of the arena. Mox bangs AJ's head off something and they head back to ringside. Mox knees him off the apron then suplexes him on the hard cement floor. AJ's head is bleeding and Mox brings in a barbed wire board.

Mox picks up AJ for a suplex and just throws him forward and hard on the barbed wire board. Mox has some kind of cutters or shears and stabs AJ with them. Mox wraps the barbed wire around AJ's leg and yanks it.

Mox hits some barbed wire punches then wraps the barbed wire around his head. Mox whips him with the barbed wire then Mox hits a barbed wire neckbreaker. Mox wraps the wire in AJ's mouth. Mox puts barbed wire on a door then AJ spears Mox through the door.

AJ hits some chops and an enzugiri then AJ moonsaults him off the top and lands on his head. Mox goes for a tope but AJ chairs him in the head. AJ top rope legdrops Mox as he hangs over the middle rope. A ladder is set up outside. Mox gets STO'd on the apron and put on a door bridged between chairs. AJ then elbow drops him off the ladder through the door.

They traded shots in the ring and Mox lariated him. AJ then lariated him for 2. AJ grabbed barbed wire light tubes. Mox cuttered him on them but actually ended up taking all of it instead. Mox then hit a piledriver...for 2. Mox then grabs more tubes and tries to paradigm shift ddt him on them, but misses the tubes and wins it.

The finish was dumb as Mox ended up in the tubes then missed the 2nd time. They didn't sell much and did too much but there were still some good points to this and they filled the time well for the most part. I thought some improvements could have been made here.

GCW Ultraviolent Title: Alex Colon vs. John Wayne Murdoch

JWM bangs a bunch of tubes over AC's head before he gets his intro. JWM then throws him into a door and tubes. JWM puts a gusset plate in ACs head and AC comes back with tubes. AC goes up top and gets thrown through a door with tubes bridged over chairs on the floor. Real fun start here.

JWM breaks tubes over AC's leg and carves his forehead with a knife. JWM then headbutts a tube on his head and stabs him with a tube piece. AC comes back with tubes and then gets thrown through a door in the corner. JWM puts a tube in AC's shirt then kicks it. AC meteora's tubes into JWM's chest then scrapes the pieces on JWM's head.

AC cuts up JWM's head with a knife. JWM puts AC in a chair and headbutts him, then lets AC do it to him. They trade headbutts and back in, JWM gets backdropped on gusset plates. JWM is then thrown into tubes on the ropes. AC then double knees him with tubes in the chest.

JWM is stuck on the middle rope. AC hits his back with tubes then puts some tubes on his chest and legdrops them from the top. JWM hits him with tubes and hits a short piledriver but AC pops up. AC then cutters JWM with a tube held behind his head. AC then tope's him with the tubes in front of him in a neat spot.

AC hits something on the side of the post and he starts really selling. They wrap a tower on his arm with tape and JWM flurry punches him. JWM suplexes him through tubes but AC kicks out. JWM hits him with a 2x4 in the arm then armbreakers him for the win. JWM rips AC after for talking trash. He said he crapped on him and told him he isn't as good as he thinks. He told him to pack his bags and said he doesn't belong here anymore

The injury seemed like a work. Maybe it wasn and maybe it wasn't, but it brought down the match if it was and ended the show on a sour note. The match wasn't great with the usual lack of selling and actual structure, but it started off well.

Overall thoughts: It wasn't a great show. The top 2 matches had messed up finishes, the women's match was really raunchy, the tag title match got messed up due to travel issues and I didn't even bother watching the AR Fox vs Blake Christian match. It felt 100% different than previous versions of Spring Break and didn't have the special feel.

WWE NXT UK 3/31/2022

WWE NXT UK 3/31/2022

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2022/03/wwe-nxt-uk-3242022.html

Amale vs Xia Brookside

Amale catches a crossbody early and slams her. She then rolls on her. Amale hits some knees and single underhook suplexes her for 2. Xia stomps on Amale's back then drives double knees into her back. Xia then camel clutches her then Amale gets up and drops her backwards. Amale makes a comeback with some lariats and a puming knee. Amale then northern lights suplexes her for 2.

Xia moves out of the way on a facewash kick then Amale pump kicks her outside on the rails. A mystery person then grabs Amale on the outside and lariats her, then hides behind the rails. Xia hits the broken wings (double reverse armbar then drops down with her feet up) and wins it.

This wasn't too long and I'd love to know how the ref missed the obvious interference. This wasn't real good.

They confront Trent and Bate. Trent says it is veteran work and you have to get the job done. They argue and Sid Scala breaks it up. He says they will discuss it next week and figure out what to do. Trent says a win is a win.

Kenny Williams vs Tate Mayfairs

Tate's name is just awful. Kenny rushes him and stomps on him to start. Tate hits a surprise sunset flip and some punches then Kenny spears his knee. Kenny pounds on him and does a nasty hook punch from behind him. Kenny stretches his arms backwards sand sits on his back. Tate fights back and when Kenny grabs his foot, he stands up and punches him.

Kenny dragon screws him over the middle rope then slams him on the floor. Kenny throws him in and hits a headlock driver, but pulls him up. Kenny then throws him out again. Tate gets pulled under the ring partially and Kenny tries to pull him out but can't. Kenny then pulls up the ring skirt and finds Sam Gradwell, whose hair he cut a while ago. Sam throws Tate in and Kenny is afraid to go near Sam and gets counted out. Sam then chases Kenny out of the arena.

I didn't really get Sam just not going after Kenny to start here and this was mostly a squash up until that point.

Wolfgang comes out of the locker room and says Mark Coffey is ready for tonight. Die Familie then walks up to Wolf and Charlie Dempsey wants to know why Gallus is always representing British heritage around here. Wolf says he doesn't need a reason and is always ready then Dempsey says he is too.

Ilja Dragunov and Roderick Strong do a sit down interview face to face against each other. Ilja says Strong has fighting spirit and will. Strong says he sees a lot of himself in Ilja. He said Ilja is the biggest test. Ilja says Strong doesn't know about his path. He says he is the tsar. Strong says Ilja has never felt the disappointment of losing but Strong says he has. Strong says he will see what it feels like soon though. Ilja says they are predictions but not the reality. He says he will stand his ground against him.

WWE NXT UK Heritage Cup - Noam Dar vs Mark Coffey

As usual, this is under rounds rules and the first person to two falls wins.

Round 1 - Not much happens early and Sha hands Dar a flask. Dar drinks from it and throws some of the liquids at Joe Coffey outside. Dar puts him in the tequila sunrise then pulls on his arm and hand but the time expires.

Round 2 - Mark drops him with a forearm about a minute in then Dar rolls him up out of nowhere to win the fall.

Round 3 - Mark drops him again with a forearm to start the round then pounds on him. Mark his him over his shoulder and throws him backwards then does a half-nelson slam for 2. Sha pulls Dar out then Mark baseball slides Sha. Mark double axe handles Dar and gamengiri's him to win the fall and tie it up at 1-1.

Round 4 - Dar hits a quick uraken out of nowhere and some chest kicks. He elbows Mark in the head but gets picked up and backdropped. Mark goes on the 2nd rope and Dar legsweeps him. Dar then pump kicks him and takes a big lariat. They trade forearms and Dar ankle locks him to end the round. Dar won't let go on the submission and Joe has to come in to break it. Sha throws a betting slip bag at Mark

Round 5 - They trade forearms to start and Dar hits a spinning back elbow for 2. Dar goes for an akle lock but Mark sits on him. Mark tries a gator lock and Dar calls for Sha. Sha gets on the apron and Mark releases then Joe chases Sha in the ring and pushes him out. Mark gets distracted and Joe hits a flying kick to win 2 falls to 1.

It wasn't a great match or anything and the finish wasn't clean. It wouldn't say it was bad, but just not particularly memorable.

Overall thoughts:
Not a great one here. We had 2 dirty finishes and nothing that memorable in the ring.

Glory Pro Wrestling 3/31/2022 - Cemetery Gates

Glory Pro Wrestling 3/31/2022 - Cemetery Gates

Danny Jones vs. Shane Sabre vs. Myron Reed vs. Carlos Romo

Hey it's Danny Jones from NXT UK. They boch a spot early and Reed hits a nice tornado ddt, then Danny exploders him. Danny is on top and Myron gets lifted up and hurricanrana's him down. Romo indian deathlocks Danny then dragon sleepers the other two at the same time. Carols then rolls him and butterfly chokes him. Danny does a nice roll on Romo into a choke. Danny piledrivers Sabre on the apron. Reed and Romo fight on the apron then Reed jumps over the apron and cutters him to the floor. Danny hits a release sleeper suplex on Reed. Romo then jumps off the ropes and cutters him then Romo misses a moonsault. Sabre then runs the ramp and jumps off the apron to spear Romo inside. Reed then picks up the win over Romo.

This really wasn't too good. These things can really only be spotfests and that's kind of what it was. They also botched a few moves here.

Tootie Lynn vs. Janai Kai

Lynn won here with a fujiwara armbar. The sound wasn't great here and you really need good sound to get over the stiff shots. I thought it went longer than needed and I obviously wasn't very interested in it.

Jake Something vs. Max The Impaler

I'm not sure if Max is a boy or a girl or something in-between. I don't support intergender wrestling and I refuse to review it. Jake is way above this. "Max" gassed out and this really slowed down then "Max" got busted open hardway. I don't know what gender "Max" is, but they should figure it out and maybe they could do something with some cardio work. Jake won with a sideslam in a long and slow one.

United Glory Tag Titles - Alpha Omega (Camaro Jackson & Kenny Alfonso) vs. Fly Def (Warren Johnson & Zack Mason) vs. Technical Difficulties (Moses the Deliverer & Rahim De La Suede) vs. The Hustle and the Muscle (Karam & Xavier Walker)

I've never seen any of these people before, and figuring out who is who will be a tough one. Everyone in this is black. Hustle and Muscle are really big dudes. One of the Technical Difficulties members does a moonsault to nobody early and Muscle gorilla presses Kenny to the floor on his partner. One of the Fly Def guys got on his partners shoulders then dove to the outside then Hustle and Muscle double hiptossed Kenny. High Def hits double dropkicks. Kenny botches a double stunner and Camaro double lariats H&M. TD puts Kenny on one of their shoulders then the other TD member jumps off the guy on the shoulders and dives. Fly Def does frogsplashes off the top then Muscle does a one-armed spinebuster on a Fly Def member to win it.

Spotty and kind of messy as you would expect.

No DQ, Submission match - Allie Katch vs. Laynie Luck

Luck's nickname is the unicorn. Luck misses a dropkick early and it gets sold anyway. Luck springboards off the 2nd rope with an armdrag. Luck does a nice sunset flip into an STF that Allie gets out of. Luck charges in the corner and Allie gets up and buttdrops her. Allie then pulls her around the post.

Luck headscissors Allie then facwash kicks her then germans her. Luck then suplexed her into a seated guillotine. Luck cutters her off the 2nd rope and then stf's her. They go outside and Allie piledrivers her on her the floor. Luck crabs her then Katch crabs her back. Allie then boston crabs her through the ropes and wins it.

This was not good at all. It was a submission match but there were few submissions or technical wrestling.

Grindhouse (Mat Fitchett & Davey Vega) vs. No Remorse Corps (Davey Richards & Rocky Romero)

I missed all of this.

Loser Leaves the Neighborhood Match: Dan The Dad vs. Kody Lane

They start outside and Dan hits Lane in the gut with a ladder. Lane uses a trashcan on him and Cody puts a ladder over the top buckle. Dan dropkicks Lane in the knee then gets pushed into the top part of the ladder. Lane does a nice one legged springboard asai moonsault. Dan gets a trash can on his head and  Lane kicks it. Dan gets backdropped on the apron. Lane chairs Dan in the back then they trade punches. Lane gets like sto'd on a chair then is thrown into a ladder in the corner. Dan then backpack stunners him. Lane slams Dan on a ladder and misses his top rope asai moonsault. Dan then figure fours him and wins it.

This went 10:05 and the finish was random. It wasn't too bad otherwise for a hardcore match but obviously the whole storyline around it is is silly.

Warhorse vs Josh Alexander

Josh gets thrown out early and War runs the apron to double stomp his back. Josh does a rolling fireman's carry slam. Josh hits some chops then War does some machine gun chops. War hits some forearms. Josh tries a sunset flip but War gets him by the headgear and slams his head off the mat. War hits a flying forearm then hits a lariat. Warhorse rolls Josh into a sharpshooter.

Josh picks him up on the apron and drops down, effectively slamming him on the apron. Josh then crossbodies his back as he sits on the apron. War then does a tope on hilo and lands hard on the concrete. War misses a top rope dropkick and Josh ankle locks him but War rope breaks.

Josh hands form the 2nd rope and War double stomps him from the top as he hangs. War then does a stiff dropkick/double stomp from the top as Josh is bent over. Josh superplexes him then War spinning superkicks him. Josh hits a high german then double underhook piledrivers him for the win.

The selling wasn't great here with a lot of the stuff at the end not being sold much at all. But, the pacing was good, the built it up to a nice finish and they were stiff with each other.

Mike Outlaw vs. Bryan Keith

They trade chops and forearms early. Keith hits a big boot to the face. Outlaw stomps on him and Lee comes back as they duel chops. Keith hits a nice forearm then Outlaw dropkicks him. Keith ddt'd Outlaw then hit a big release exploder. Keith then death valley drivers Outlaw on his knee.

Lee hits a siff double underhook powerbomb. Outlaw does a twisting brainbuster/neckbreaker that looked like it hurt him as much as the other guy. They trade forearms. Outlaw hits a spinning forearm then takes a slap and an enzugiri. Lee went for the pin and Outlaw rolled on top of him to win. The finish was lame, but it had some decent stuff in it. I liked the forearm exchanges and Keith's exploder was nice.

Overall thoughts: The top two matches were pretty decent. Even Dan the Dad vs Kody Lane wasn't too bad. Not the greatest stuff ever and there was some room for improvement, but it made up for an undercard with issues.

PURE-J 3/27/2022

PURE-J 3/27/2022

Sakura Tree Match - KAZUKI vs Momo Tani

The tree is put in the middle of the ring and the first person to knock it over loses.

They tie up over the tree and battle for control around it. Momo uses the ropes to drop some knees on Kaz's back and almost is rolled off into the tree. Kaz headlocks her and is almost thrown into it then they go on the ground and Momo tries to roll her into it. Kaz then single leg crabs her near the tree.

Momo codebreakers her then drops double knees on her back. She then puts her over the middle rope and rams double knees on her. Momo misses a knee drop off the 2nd rope and almost goes into the tree and strangleholds her in-between the ropes. Momo double knee drops her from the top for 2. Kaz airplane spins Momo and sits on her for 2.

Kaz nearly runs into the tree and Momo pushes her into it but she holds onto it. Kaz takes a knee to the back but holds onto the tree then Momo tries again and Kaz moves. Momo knocks over the tree and loses.

This was comedy and it did limit a lot of what they could do, but I didn't think it was too bad. At least the rules make sense and aren't unbelievable or anything like that. I don't think these rules particularly add to matches or are exciting, but they are much better than some of the other comedy style matches Pure-J does.

1 Count + Answer a Question Rules - Rydeen Hagane vs AKARI

Rydeen shoulders her over and misses a splash. Akari then does a nice armdrag and spins around her for a schoolboy. Akari sits on the top rope and Rydeen throws her down then splashes her. They trade forearms. Rydeen does a bad stun gun and splashes her against the ropes. She then spinning backbreakers her.

Rydeen misses a vader bomb then backdrops her and hits the vader bomb. Rydeen pins her for a 1 count and then Rydeen has to answer a question to get the win but says the wrong thing and the match continues on. Akari then pins her for 1 and gets the question wrong. Akari spin kicks her to the gut then is splashed on the ropes. Akari pump kicks her and 619's her. She then northern lights suplexes her for 1 and gets the question wrong.

Akari dropkicks her off the 2nd rope then Rydeen spinning heel kicks her. Rydeen corkscrew vader bombs her for 1 and gets the question right to win the match.

This would have been a good match if it weren't for the comedy, which wouldn't be entertaining for anyone not speaking Japanese.

Momo Tani and Hanako Nakamori vs Leon and Crea

Crea beats up Momo on the ropes to start then Momo gives it back to her. Crea hits a nice dropkick then is side thrown down. Hana gets in and kicks Crea in the back and front. Leon and Hana go at it and Hana hits some kicks then takes an armdrag and a basement dropkick. Crea backdrops Hana then Hana clotheslines her for 2. Crea takes a double team and then is put into a partial stranglehold.

Hana then works over Crea's legs with a hold then Momo comes in and drops both knees on her back. Leon dropkicks Momo then tilt-a-whirl backbreakers both opponents. Momo drops double knees on Leon's back off the 2nd rope then does a heavenlock variation on her while Hana cobra twists Crea.

Momo vader bomb knees Leon. Leon tags out and Crea hits some chest kicks on Momo and facewash kicks her. Momo jumping codebreakers Crea then double knees her through the ropes. Momo then flying knees her from the 2nd rope for 2. Crea blocks Hana's kick combo then takes a facekick for 2. Crea then dropkicks Hana off the top for 2. Crea release german suplexes her and hits a reverse brazilian kick then a northern lights suplex for 2.

Hana gets some kicks on Leon then is capture suplexed. Leon goes up top but Momo stops her then Hana fisherman's suplexes her. Hana then hits a shining wizard for 2. Hana hits a stiff high kick on Leon but Crea stops the pin. Leona spears both opponents then Crea hits a top rope rotation splash and Leona hits a top rope frogsplash on Hana for 2.

Leon spinning heel kicks Momo for 2 and gets olled up after a missed spear. She then reverses it for 2. Hana high kicks Leon and Leon high spin kicks her back. Hana then rolls up Leon for the win. I believe Hana challenged her after.

It dragged a little in the first half but the ending stretch was good with the finishers.

Overall thoughts: Only the main was serious wrestling and it was okay to good but nothing I'd go out of my way to see.

AEW Dynamite 3/30/2022

AEW Dynamite 3/30/2022

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2022/03/aew-dynamite-3232022.html

CM Punk vs Max Caster

Caster brought up Will Smith and Hunter Biden in his rap.

Punk gets the edge on Max early. Punk gets caught on a crossbody and takes a backbreaker. Punk gets whipped into the buckles then flips out of it and axe handles Max off the other set of buckles. Max then fisherman busters him for 2. Punk hurricanrana's Max off the top then bulldogs him.

Punk goes for a springboard but Bowens pulls him then Max leg drops him from the top while he hangs on the rope. Max misses a top rope elbow then Punk piledrivers him and anaconda vices him for the win.

It was okay but really nothing special. There wasn't any big story or great logic here.

Tony Schiavone interviews Punk after. Punk is asked about a belt gesture then does it again confirming he wants a title shot. Punk says he will become champ in AEW and either is going to fight Cole or Page.

Alex Marvez interviews FTR and MJF. MJF says Mark Sterling is his lawyer and Mark is putting up posters of Wardlow. MJF says Wardlow doesn't exist and says Pinnacle is going to get some wins. Dax says he doesn't get what is going on with MJF and Wardlow, but both are his friends. MJF says Wardlow used to talk about FTR and FTR hesistantly does the hands in pose with him.

Jon Moxley vs Jay Lethal

Jay gets thrown out to start. They come back in and trade headlocks and the crowd is super hot. Jay gets german suplexed then they fight up top and Mox gets crotched. Lethal then topes him. We go to PiP break and return to them trading chops then they crossbody each other at the same time.

Mox splashes him in the corner then hits a big lariat on Jay. Mox hits a nice spinning forearm. Lethal goes for a lethal injection but is caught with a sleeper. He gets out and then brainbusters Mox. Jay then hits a top rope elbow for 2. Mox kicks out and comes back with a paradigm shift ddt to win it.

The crowd was really hot for this and it wasn't a bad back and forth match at all.

They do a promo for Marina Shafir who has pparently been on Dark and will be on the main shows soon.

FTR vs The Gunn Club

MJF comes out to do commentary. He seemingly sarcasticly cheers FTR. The Gunns taunt Dax early and Cash hits some armdrags and dropkick. He then chops Colten and does his gun taunt to him. Cash then trips and holds down Austin for a Dax legdrop. Outside, Billy Gunn takes a cheapshot on Cash and Austin hits some bad punches on him.

We go to PiP break and return. Cash backdrops Austin then Colten splashes and dropkicks Cash for 2. Colten misses a splash and goes outside then Dax hits some punches on both opponents. Dax hits a stiff lariat on Austin for 2. Dax goes for a suplex near the apron but gets it reversed and Colten holds down Dax's foot. Wardlow is seen arriving. He beats up security and powerbombs one of them on a table. Wardlow beats up more staff on his way down to MJF and finally gets stopped.

Back to the action and Billy distracts Dax then tries ot hold Austin from getting a sunset flip. Cash breaks it up and FTR hits a flapjack into a codebreaker to win it.

It was alright. Not great or anything.

MJF came out after to celebrate with FTR and FTR is mad aout what he did to Wardlow. MJF eventually cools them down.

Hobbs does a promo on Keith Lee. He said he's been a pain since he arrived. Hobbs says Rampage is his show and Starks' show. He says Lee will bask in defeat, not glory, when he beats him. Lee then tells him to bask in his glory.

The Jericho Appreciation Society does a promo. They did a goofy promo as usual. Matt looked through the curtains and said he saw nobody there. Jack then did it and saw Santana, Ortiz and Eddie who proceeded to beat them up. Jericho went into the crowd and Eddie followed. Ortiz and Matt then brawled out there and Eddie hit a uraken on Jericho in the ring. Santana kicked Garcia in the face and Matt was thrown into the steps. Santana got pushed off the top hard then Hager hit a big slam on Eddie. Garcia put Eddie in a sharpshooter and Jericho hit him with a bat.

Eddie had his shirt ripped off and Jericho whipped eddie with a belt. Eddie then got a judas effect spinning back elbow. Jericho was shirtless here and he really needs to keep a shirt on as he looks awful.

Mark Sterling and Jade Cargill were interviewed. He said Leva Bates is Jade's next opponent. Jade isn't happy and says no, saying she wants harder competition. Mark then offers Marina Shafir and Jade accepts it.

Bryan Danielson vs Wheeler Yuta

Regal was on commentary here. Bryan takes control early and rides Yuta's bridge.  Bryan shoulders yuta and hits some kicks in the corner. Yuta then comes back with a dropkick then ties up his legs and bridges. Yuta comes off the top and Bryan kicks him as we go to PiP break.

We return and Yuta is coming back and trading chops. Bryan rolling elbows Yuta but he hangs onto the bottom rope, comes back in and german suplexes Bryan. Bryan then dragon suplexes him for 2. Bryan hits an elbow flurry on him then Yuta does the same back. Bryan armdrags him and hits the busaiku knee kick. Bryan then hits a gotch style piledriver and does a crossface variation to win.

It was okay with Yuta getting a comeback in before getting put in. This was your standard rookie vs vet match but I just don't see what this promotion does in Yuta.

Darby and Andrade do promos on each other. Darby tells him to be who he is and Andrade tells him to show him who he is.

Cole, O'Reilly and Fish come out for a celebration. They have the title belts they stole and Cole says "you can't steal something that belongs to you. Cole say the celebration will go on all week long then Adam Page arrives in a car with bullhorns on it. Page beats up on Undisputed Era. He fallaway slams Cole and Cole is pulled out from a buckshot lariat. Jurassic Express then gets Undisputed Era from behind. Cole gets back body dropped onto his partners and the faces get their belts back.

Tony Schiavone interviews Thunder Rosa. She talks about being the first Mexican born women's wrestler yet claimed San Antonio was her hometown 2 weeks ago. She said she wants to be the face of women's wrestling. She said pillars get knocked down, but foundations remain standing. She said she wants to remain standing. She then calls out a certain person who won't be named here and that's the segment.

FTR does a promo. They said they are told they take things too seriously and say they do. They said they will be the ROH tag champs this week. They said they came to AEW to build a reputation, not to lose it. Dax issues a challenge to the Young Bucks

Owen Hart Foundation Women's Tournament Qualifer - The Bunny vs Toni Storm

This is Toni's debut after leaving WWE and she is a mystery opponent here. Bunny pushes Toni then gets dropped. They each hit forearms then Toni suplexes her for 2. Toni basement dropkicks her and gets knee'd from the apron as she bends over the middle rope. Bunny lariats her on the floor and we go to PiP break.

They trade shots as we return and Toni lariats her. Toni headbutts her to the chest and running boots her. Toni then fisherman suplexes her for 2. Bunny hits a running death valley driver for 2 then a superkick. Toni reverses a reverse ddt with a german then short piledrivers her to win.

Toni didn't really do anything bad here but she should have won this easier. Bunny got more in than Toni did and this wasn't a real great debut for Toni. I don't know what it is, AEW just does not do debut's well. I'm not a huge Toni Storm fan while AEW is kind of hoarding a bunch of talent, maybe this wasn't the worst pick-up.

Darby Allin vs Andrade El Idolo

Darby skateboards down the ramp then Andrade tornillo's on him before he gets in. Darby gets thrown over a table and Andrade shakes a camera. Andrade then drops Darby on a table then on the apron. Darby comes back and does a skateboard jump on his back. He then jumps off the steps and gets caught. Andrade then throws him onto the side of the steps.

Darby flips for a sell when he gets thrown into the buckles. Andrade drops double knees in the corner on him. Darby takes a wild flip bump for a back body drop and we go to PiP break. Back from break and Darby turns a razor's edge into a code red. Andrade stomps on Darby and they trade slaps. Andrade then drops him with a hard slap.

Darby trips up Andrade with a belt then flips over him for a stunner. Andrade uranage backbreakers Darby in the corner. Darby does a nasty flipping crucifix bomb on Andrade from the top. Jose (Andrade's assistant) comes down and Sting nails him, thne Butcher and the Blade beat up Sting. Darby dives on Butcher and Blade. Darby gets a coffin drop caught then gets pinned with a buckle bomb.

I didn't have any issues with this. It didn't go too long and it furthered their storyline some. Darby's dive and crucifix driver were cool.

Andrade's crew beats up on Sting then The Hardy Boyz make the save, which I feel like we've seen a few times already. Quen takes a twist of fate and a swanton bomb to end the show.

Overall thoughts: This was a decent show. A lot of the people I don't like weren't on it and it was a very wrestling heavy episode. I really didn't dislike anything except the quick JAS promo adn the way they handled Toni's debut.

ProWresBlog's Wrestlemania Weekend Schedule

ProWresBlog's Wrestlemania Weekend Schedule

It's WM Weekend and a lot of stuff is airing live.

Rampage and NXT Level Up are likely getting delayed and maybe not done, if there even is a new NXT Level Up.

I am not sure on NXT UK. I think it will be aired the same time as other things are on. That may be delayed a few days.

There is no Ice Ribbon dojo show this week as they are running a mid-tier show instead on NicoNico.

I don't know my exact schedule, or if I even will have one, but I plan to see as much footage as possible this weekend. I probably will do some catch-all posts with the various things I saw since I may switch around.

New Japan Pro Wrestling 3/18/2022 - New Japan Cup Day 11

New Japan Pro Wrestling 3/18/2022 - New Japan Cup Day 11

I'm just doing the top four matches here.

Tetsuya Naito and BUSHI vs Jeff Cobb and Will Osperay

Bushi is on the apron and turns his back then gets nailed. Cobb beats up Naito and puts his hat on. Naito wrestles with his jacket on then Bushi dropkicks Cobb in the knee for a Naito low dropkick. Naito goes for his leg sweep + swinging dropkick combo in the corner but gets caught by Jeff then slingshot senton'd by Will. Will facewashes Naito in the corner then Naito falls down after a hard whip into the buckles. Jeff stands on Naito's back and does surfing poses.

Will and Bushi get in and Bushi headscissors him then tope's him outside. Will does a really nice spinning backbreaker for 2. Naito hits a flyinhg forearm on Cobb and tries for a destino but Cobb catches him and tosses him in a cool spot. Bushi gets whipped into a Cobb dropkick then Will does a back elbow slick on Bushi to win it. Cobb and Will do Naito's pose after.

I liked this one. They just had the right pieces here. It was fast paced, the guys worked well together and the heels were good heels here. The time was just about right and it left you wanting more, which is not so common in a tag match.

Kazuchika Okada and Toru Yano vs Taichi and Zack Sabre Jr.

Okada forearms Taichi hard early. Yano gets in and removes a turnbuckle pad then Zack slips in to twist his neck with his feet. Taichi did like a neck hold on Yano then Zack got in and grabbed Yano by the beard then headscissored him. Zack grabbed Yano by the ears.

Okada got in and traded holds with Zack. Taichi gets in and hits Kawada kicks on Okada then trades shots with Taichi. Yano removes the buckle pads and Taichi goes into the exposed steel, then side kicks him. Yano pulls down Taichi's pants to roll him up then they do a sumo battle over a throw. Taichi then runs at him sumo style and forearms him to win it.

I have no idea what this was or was supposed to be. They wanted to do stuff then realized they only had 9 minutes to work with and just kind of gave up and moved onto the next thing without accomplishing anything.

New Japan Cup 2022 3rd Round Match - Shingo Takagi vs Chase Owens

Shingo gets jumped as he enters and pounded on with forearms. He then gives some forearms back to Chase. Shingo argues with Fale outside then Chase dropkicks him through the ropes. He then russian leg sweeps him hard into the apron then neckbreakers him on the floor. The apron russian leg sweep made Shingo hold his hand and made a loud sound. Back in and Chase russian leg sweeps Shingo into the buckles. Chase then neckbreakers Shingo again.

Chase catapult's Shingo's throat into the bottom rope then hits a stiff running knee to the face. Shingo hits some punches then a big lariat on his comeback. Shingo then sliding lariats him for 2. Chase comes back with a suplex neckbreaker over his knee. Chase then hits a nice jumping knee.

They go outside and Chase hits some boots on Shingo from the apron but Shingo death valley drivers him on the floor. Shingo superplexes him from up top. They trade forearms and both hit some forearm combos. Shingo pops him with a hook then gets a spinning back elbow. Chase goes for a v-trigger but gets caught with a made in japan for 2.

Fale gets on the apron to argue with Shingo then  both Chase and Shingo end up hitting him. Chase tries for some roll-up's for 2 then hits a nice jumping and pump knee. Chase then piledrivers him for 2. Chase v-triggers him on the ropes then goes for a powerbomb but Shingo hurricanrana's him. Shingo then lariats him and hits last of the dragon for the win.

This really wasn't bad. Chase had control early, Shingo then evened things up and then took the win. I haven't seen a ton of Chase because he's not too good, but this was the best thing I've seen him in. I think they worked this right and made it seem like there was some chance Chase could win.

New Japan Cup 2022 3rd Round Match - EVIL vs Hiromu Takahashi

Hiromu hits him during his entrance and throws him into the rails. Evil then gets thrown into the rails and does a flip over rails. Togo distracts Hiromu and Evil throws a chair at his face. Hiromu is then thrown into the rails.

Evil goes for the eyes inside then Hiromu dropkicks him in the leg. Hiromu basement dropkicks him, then Evil rolls out and Hiromu dropkicks him off the apron. We get a leg holding spot with the ref involved and Hiromu dragon screws Evil off of it. Hiromu john woo's him.

Evil gets on the apron and Hiromu flips over it for a sunset bomb but Togo stops it. Evil throws Hiromu into the rails and knocks over the announcer and his desk. The ref starts the count for the guys to get back in the ring and Togo pulls Evil by the hair which the ref doesn't see.

Evil hits a lariat then a reverse sitout F-U for 2. Hiromu knocks Togo off the apron and hits a lariat that makes Evil flip, then he spins Evil on his shoulder into a schwein. Evil rakes hiromu's eyes then throws his leg into the ref, knocking the ref down. Togo then hits punches on Hiromu. Togo and Evil magic killer Hiromu which the ref somehow doesn't see but it's only for a 2 count. Evil flips Hiromu with a lariat.

Hiromu does a nice roll-up for a pint but the ref is arguing with Togo. Hiromu pushes Evil into Togo to knock him off the apron then STO's Evil to win it.

The interference as usual brought down the match. It's stupid, it's stale, the ref never seeing it sucks and it's just not good. Had they not done that and just stuck with Evil being a bigger heel, I think it would have been better since Hiromu can be a good face.

WWE NXT 3/29/2022

WWE NXT 3/29/2022

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2022/03/wwe-nxt-3222022.html

LA Knight and MSK vs Imperium

Imperium get jumped during their entrance and the match starts. LA and Gunther go at it for a while then Barthel gets a hold on LA. LA then neckbreakers him. Walter tags in then Aichner tags in after. Aichner chinlocks him and LA escapes a backdrop to make a tag. MSK double teams Aichner then Barthel goes over the top charging at them. Nash then tope's Barthel and Lee gets blindsided with a big Gunther kick.

We go to break and return with Lee hitting an enzugiri on Aichner. LA slams BAthel then jumping elbows him for 2. Knight helps throw Nash into Barthel in the corner then Gunther pulls Nash from a springboard.

LA and Gunther trade blows and go to the back. Barthel grabs Nash's leg then Aichner hits a big lariat on Nash for the win.

This was really fast paced and maybe too fast paced. A lot was going on and it was honestly hard for me to follow it clearly.

The Creed's then come out and stare down the two teams.

Kay Lee Ray and Io Shirai do a promo. KLR doesn't like Mandy claiming she is the best women's champ. Io says Toxic Attraction will crumble. Io then says she will beat her in the four way to win the title. Both girls are really hard to understand and with the angle not making much sense in the first place, this wasn't good.

Dakota Kai is looking for Wendy Choo backstage. She then finds her pillow and her pajamas all messed up.

We see clips of Ivy Nile and possibly Kayla Inlay trying to clean up the Diamond Mine gym after it was trashed last week. Ivy isn't impressed and tells her to get out as she feels she is sucking up.

Ivy Nile vs Tiffany Stratton

Ivy knuckle locks her and suplexes her. Tiff then comes back with a nice standing moonsault for 2. They trade pinfall attempts. Ivy hits a nice kick combo and superman punches her then flying kicks her in the chest. Ivy streches her and curbstomps her and Tiff comes back with a clothesline. Smokes starts blowing in the background and Sarray appears on the apron. Tiff gets distracted and dragon suplexed.

This was short but it was fine and it furthered storylines here.

Tomasso Ciampa does a promo talking about how the fans have been with him all along. He says it might be the end of an era at Stand and Deliver and shows a chair with dates on it and has Stand and Deliver as his ending date.

Dolph Ziggler does a video promo. He says it's Bron's first Mania but he has done many. Dolph says nobody knows who Bron is outside of Florida. Dolph talks about his career and says Bron won't win at Stand and Deliver.

Cora Jade gets a video promo. she says she wrote about WWE in her journal in high school and graduated early to focus on wrestling. She talks about the history of NXT Women's Titles and says she is coming for Mandy Rose. She says she is the underdog but it will make her title win better.

Legado del Fantasma vs Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen

Fallon Henley is with Briggs and Jensen and Elektra Lopez is with LdF.

Jensen throws up Wilde and lets him drop. Jensen does an exloder on Wilde then Wilde gets double slammed. Briggs throws up Mendoza then catches him and drives him int othe buckles. B&J then double shoulder Mendoza then both side out to punch him. Jensen has words with Lopez then Mendoza baseball slides him. Wilde flagpoles on the post and drops down on Jensen.

Jensen gets beat up in the corner then double suplexed. Wilde is on Jensen's back for a sleeper then Jensen back body drops Mendoza. Briggs gets in and cleans house and throws out Mendoza. Lopez distracts Brizz then Mendoza dropkicks him from the top. Fallon beats up on Lopez then Wilde goes for a 450 but Briggs catches him with a chokeslam. B&J then hit a high/low on Wilde and win it.

This was fast paced and a lot happened here. Nothing really wrong with this though it wasn't anything too special.

Persia and Indi are talking in the back about their boyfriends. Persia suggests they let the fans decide who is the best couple in a vote.

Cameron Grimes is interviewed. He said usually he is confident to the point of being cocky but he said he is worried for tonight. He said he wants to deliver on the promise he made to his late father.

Toxic Attraction comes out for a promo. She isn't happy her title match is a four way but says she isn't scared. She says she will humiliate Cora, send KLR back under the bridge she came from and get Io out of NXT. She said she will become the greatest women's champion of all time. She said Wendy and Dakota failed them by not beating KLR and Io then she said Wendy "apolgoized" for not getting the job done. They pull out a bag with some of her stuff in it and basically they admit to beating her up. Gigi says they run the division and Jacy asks who is left?

Dakota Kai comes out after Jacy keeps talking then gets beat up 3v1. Raquel Gonzalez then comes out and beats up T-A. Kai then recovers and T-A is sent out. Kai and RG tease fighting then hug each other as they used to be partners. They then grab a tag title and hold it together.

Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams are interviewed. Grayson Waller and Sanga walk in. Waller implies he's going to do some crazy things to win the ladder match. Hayes says he will learn the hard way and says his is bigger than Hayes' as Sanga is taller and bigger than Trick.

Andre Chase is hyping up Bodhi Hayward in the back.

Bodhi Hayward vs Von Wagner

Robert Stone is out with Von and Andre Chase is with Bodhi. We then go to the Japanese commentary team of Kushid and Jiro.

Body is wearing his bandana here and gets punched down quick. He picks up Wagner and both fall out. Bodhi then spears him into the steps. An attractive girl is in the crowd and distracts Jiro, and it's the same girl from the Jensen match a few weeks ago on Level Up. Stone corner spears Bodhi then butterfly suplexes her. Bodhi sunset flips in for 2 then has his crossbody caught with a fallaway slam.

Bodhi does a football tackle on Von then splashes him. Von hits something like a samoan drop and wins it.

This was pretty quick with a lot of outside nonsense going on with the woman and Jiro/Kushida. Not a lot to say about this one.

Von goes over to the announcer table and beats up on Jiro and Kushida. He throws Jiro in the ring and hits his odd samoan drop on him. Von then rips Jiro's jacket off and tears it in half. Von then checks out the girl outside.

We go to Tony D, who is outside having coffee. He said Ciampa made a big mistake attacking him from behind. He says he has to remove Ciampa and says it will be his last match. He said when he takes his role at the top of the family and beats Ciampa, he will control everything.

Joe Gacy vs Draco Anthony

Harland is out there. Joe knocks him down and Draco kicks him from his back. Joe gets whipped into the corner and hangs there then is able to get a ddt when he gets out. Quincy Elliot is seen staring down Harland from the crowd. Joe does a nice uranage on Draco and Quincy is still staring down Harland.

Draco hits some punches on Joe  then shoulders him down. Draco hits a nice exploder for 2. Joe rolls up Draco then does his handspring lariat when Draco kicks out and wins it.

This was another short one. Draco didn't really blow anything but did fall backwards on a suplex escape. I really don't like the idea of Harland having anything to do with Quincy but it's not out of the blue as Quincy was in a segment with them a while back.

Bron Breakker does a promo video. He says his match with Dolph is the biggest match of his life. Bron says Dolph gives nothing back to NXT while Bron says NXT is his life. He says Dolph won't leave with the title this weekend.

Nikkita Lyons vs Sloane Jacobs

This is Sloane's NXT debut. Sloane is Notorious Mimi from the indies and is a pretty redhead. Lyons shoulders her over then armdrags her around. Lyons hits a big slam then spin kicks her in the throat for 2. Sloane misses a high kick and gets release german suplexed then samoan dropped. Lyons then spin kicks her and does a jumping split on her to win.

This was a quick squash.

Lash Legend the appears on the tron. She says she deserves two snaps and a clap. She says they have unfinished business and says she is a bigger superstar than her and better than her. Lyons then poses.

Diamond Mine is in the back. Bivens said Strong will win the triple threat tonight and win the North American title at Stand and Deliver. Bivens then says The Creeds will win the tag titles. Bivens says he will have more gold than Mr. T after Mania weekend.

Someone texts Brutus Creed and says they will be watching. Julius says they will pop their heads off.

Last Chance Qualifier for the NXT North American Title Ladder Match - Roderick Strong vs Cameron Grimes vs A-Kid

Kid jumps off of Strong's back to sunset flip Grimes and after a fast paced section they all face off. Kid dropkicks both opponents then Grimes monkey flips Kid into a hurricanrana on Strong. Kid gets popped up into a dropkick on Strong. Melo and Trick come down to do commentary.

Kid uses Grimes' arm to jump to the top then he armdrags Grimes and headscissors Strong at the same time. Then Kid tope's Strong and Grimes takes a backdrop on the apron. Solo Sikoa then comes down to watch.

We go to PiP break and Grimes flips in to take a backbreaker on Strong's knee. We return and Strong superplexes Grimes then Kid frogsplashes Grimes. Santos Escobar is seen watching in the crowd and Grayson Waller is then seen. Strong catches Kid and slams him on Grimes. Grimes double hurricanrana's his opponents and hits some strikes. Grimes crossbodies Strong from the top then does a wild swinging side slam on Kid.

Grimes superkicks Strong then flips in mid-air on his crossbody. Kid then comes off the top and Kid hits a nasty looking planting ddt on him. Strong hits strikes on both opponents then backbreakers Kid and lariats Grimes. Kid kips up into a Strong knee then Grimes M. Bison stomps Strong out of nowhere to win it.

This was a three way and these are pretty much spot fests. It wasn't the craziest match they could have done but it was action packed, fast and was interesting.

Hayes gets on the mic after and says Grimes won't walk out champion. Escobar gets a mic and says he will bring the title back to La Familia. Waller says family doesn't matter then Solo says there is about to be a fight. They all get on the apron and Grimes says he is taking the title to the moon. Everyone then fights and LdF slips in for a fun and chaotic end to the show.

Overall thoughts: I thought it was a good one. The main was good but that was all that stuck out here. The Stand and Deliver hype train was out in full force as it should have been and they did a good job hyping the show.

Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling 3/26/2022 - Spring Tour '22 Day 1

Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling 3/26/2022 - Spring Tour '22 Day 1

Kaya Toribani vs Hikari Noa

He got some gut kicks and dropkicks early. They each hit more dropkicks then hit even more. Noa hits a lariat then Kaya hits a spin kick and misses a backflip kick. Kaya then manages to hit a backflip kick. Kaya misses a springboard back elbow then gets superkicked. Noa then does a nice exploder for the win.

This was all dropkicks and little else.

Miu Watanabe and Hyper Misao vs Pom Harajuku and Mahiro Kiryu

Misao talks on the mic and Pom wants to tag with Hyper Misao instead. Nope, she nails Misao from behind then stomps her shins. Mahiro kneels on Misao's back then Pum hooks Misao's arms and does her clubbing move. Pom misses shin kicks and Misao crossbodies her. Misao then rocking chairs her and pulls her back for a Miu double chop.

Pom dropkicks a kneeling Misao then tags out. Mahiro gets some offense in then takes a 2nd rope crossbody from Misao. Miu shoulderblocks her then hits her giant swing. Pom gets in and backrolls into a spinning headscissors on Miu. Misao crossbodies Miu on accident but Miu catches her and throws her onto Pom.  Misao then hits a pounce on Pom for 2.

Misao hands over the bottom rope and Pom does her step off the back legdrop on her neck. Pom then second rope dropkicks Misao for 2 and tries a step up legdrop but Miu catches her and backbreakers her. They botch like two moves in a row then Misao slices Pom for the win.

This really wasn't bad at all for these four up until the finish which was botched. Pom's not good but she really does know how to work in accordance with her gimmick.

Neko Haruna vs Rika Tatsumi vs Nao Kakuta

Rika won't shake Neko's hand and pouts at her. They do a 3 person wristlock to start and Neko claws Rika's eyes before doing a rope walk and eye rake. Rika chases Nao outside and running kicks her. Rika tries to pin both opponents but only gets 2. Rika beats up on Neko in the corner then her and Nao hold her in mid-air.

They do a three girl sleeper and Neko eye rakes both before hitting a double lariat. Rika hip attacks Neko then spins her into a backbreaker. Rika takes a cutter over the top rope then figure fours Nao. Nao reverses it and Rika hits the ropes. Nao then reverse headscissors her over the top rope.

Rika rolls up Neko and Nao at the same time then bangs their heads together. Neko rolls for a move on Nao but botches it then hits it on the second try. Rika hip attacks Neko then cutters her on Nao. Rika then dragon sleepers Neko while on top of Nao and wins it.

Three ways are tough and these girls weren't good enough to put it all together.

Maki Ito, Marika Kobashi & Yuki Kamifuku vs. Magical Sugar Rabbits (Mizuki & Yuka Sakazaki) & Raku

Marika and Yuka chain wrestle to start then stand off. Mizuki evades Yuki early and does claw poses then steps on her foot and cheers. Itoh and Raku get in and Ito hits a running back elbow then just randomly starts falling alseep. Raku puts all three opponents down and has put her partners to sleep accidentally. Raku's team then running stomps their opponents and we get a triple pin attempt for 2.

Itoh hulks up and ddt's Raku then Marika gets in and machine gun chops Raku. Raku then gets triple teamed over the middle rope. Yuki toe holds Raku then rolls her backwards and does a nice toe hold that Raku rope breaks for. Raku chops Yuki off the 2nd orope then Mizuki gets in and hits a nice dropkick on Yuki. She then jumps through the middle rope to crossbody Marika on the apron then hits Maki in the head when she wasn't paying attention. Mizuki then top rope crossbodies Yuki.

Yuki suplexes Mizuki then Itoh comes in and bulldogs her.  Itoh and Mizuki trade chest forearms and Itoh blocks a forearm with her forehead. Itoh then back rolls Mizuki into a crab. mizuki misses a top rope double stomp then spears Itoh for 2. Itoh hits a nice pendulum ddt on Mizuki.

Yuka and Marika get in and Marika neckbreakers her then gets stuck up top. Marika bulldogs Yuka off the 2nd rope then Mizuki takes a headscissors + ddt combo. Yuka and Marika go at it again and Marika gets some pinfall attempts in for 2. Yuka dodges a double knee then rolls her up for the win.

The last minute or two was messy but everything else up to it was pretty good for TJPW standards. A lot of the girls looked much better than usual here.

Princess Tag Team Title #1 Contendership Match - Moka Miyamoto & Yuki Arai vs. Arisu Endo & Suzume

Arai and Suzu do a standoff early then Endo and Moka mat wrestle. Moka takes some corner attacks then Suzu hits a nice dropkick on her. Moka hits a big slam on Suzu. Moka hits a flying dropkick on Suzu. Arai gets in and bangs Suzu's knee off the apron then takes a nice back elbow from Suzu.

Endo dropkicks Arai in the back then double axe handlers her in the gut. Arai then hits a nice face kick. Moka hits her stomach punch combo on Endo but is rolled up for 2. Moka then hits a big slam then Endo dropkicks her off the 2nd rope. Endo then camel clutches her.

Moka is hanging on the bottom rope and Endo drops her knees down on her neck. Moka then hits a dropkick and abdominal stretches her but Endo rope breaks. Endo schwein's Moka and both tag out. Suzu gets in and hits some nice dropkicks on Arai.

Arai gets her good with a facekick then Suzu jumps off the 2nd rope with a facebuster. Arai throws Suzu off the top and they trade forearms. Arai pump kicks her then sharpshooters her but Endo breaks it up. Arai dropkicks Suzu and then hits a full nelson slam. Suzu cutters Arai and wins it.

This went a little longer than it needed to and the Moka section really wasn't that good. Arai and Suzume both did good here though with Arai actually connecting on kicks for once and Suzume hitting nice dropkicks.

Miyu Yamashita & Shoko Nakajima vs. BAKURETSU Sisters (Nodoka Tenma & Yuki Aino)

Miyu and Tenma trade holds then Tenma headlocks her. Tenma hits a nice shoulder on Miyu then Shoko gets swung onto Miyu.

Aino and Shoko are stacked up on Miyu then Tenma splashes all of them. Shoko beat up on Aino for a while and banged her head off the mat then Aino flying shoulder blocked her to tag to Tenma. Tenma then got in and splashed Shoko for 2. Shoko slingshot sentons her then Miyu gutbusters her for 2. Tenma then comes back with a slapsh on her while she is seated.

Aino gets in and rams Shoko off the ropes then slams her down then shoulders her from the 2nd buckle. Shoko rider kicks her off the top for 2 then Aino misses a vaderbomb off the ropes. Shoko then topes her outside. Aino gets back in and Miyu PK's her for 2. Tenma gets in and hits some shoulders on Miyu. Tenma and Miyu trade hard forearms then Tenma splashes her off the 2nd rope for 2.

Miyu deadlift germans Tenma then high kicks her for 2. Miyu triangle kicks Tenma. Shoko and Tenma trade forearms then Shoko flying corkscrew forearms her. Shoko gets lifted up and takes a top rope bulldog then takes a Tenma pop-up samoan drop. Shoko 619's her then northern lights suplexes her for 2. Shoko top rope sentons Tenma and wins it.

I didn't like this one. It went too long and the crowd wasn't allowed to cheer. The work was slow from the start as well.

They have a sendoff for Tenma after since this is her last match.

Overall thoughts: The main really dragged and didn't much for me and I only kind of liked two matches here.

PURE-J 3/20/2022

PURE-J 3/20/2022

KAZUKI vs Kaori Yoneyama

There's a 3 foot tree in the middle of the ring here. Kazuki and Yone try to lock up around it. Later, Yone throws Kaz into the ropes then uses the tree as a hsield. Yone octopus stretches her and poses. Then she ties her up in the ropes and pulls her nose then Kaz does it back to her later.

Yone basement dropkicks her then sentons her for 2. Yone gets a codebreaker and Kaz tries to dropkick her into the tree but ends up just getting the tree. Kaz hits some strikes on Yone and she backs up into the tree, knocking it over and seemingly loses the match.

This was a weird one and really didn't accomplish much of anything. It wasn't too funny and they barely did anything before the tree fell over. I don't think the tree was supposed to fall over when it did, but that's more on the company than the wrestlers.

Momo Tani vs Leon

Momo runs at her with a dropkick to start then stops herself from running into a corner boot. Momo takes control for a bit and gets slammed and senton'd on. Leon then camel clutches her. Leon ties her up in the ropes and chops her then they trade chops for forearms. Momo drops double knees on her back and Leon interrupts her taunt. Momo then ties her up in the ropes and knees her in the back, then kneels on her back for her taunt.

Momo was draped over the top rope and dropkicked then speared for 2. Leon tilt-a-whirl backbreakers her then backbreakers her over her back. Momo gets beat up on and hits a jumping knee on her then top rope jumping knees her for 2. Momo hits a codebreaker and meteora's her then hits a top rope double knee for 2. Momo then perfect plexes her for 2 and misses a meteora at 10 minutes.

Leon does a hard spinning rack slam on her then texas cloverleafs her. Leon goes up top and misses a dropkick and Momo tries some pin attempts. Momo runs into a spin kick then gets speared for 2. Leon then frogsplashes her for the win.

It was a couple of minutes too long but it was good with Momo showing some fire here and definitely a litle underdog vs veteran stuff at play here.

Moeka Haruhi and AKARI vs Rydeen Hagane and Crea

Akari gets an armdrag early on Crea then gets double kicked by Rydeen and Crea. Rydeen stun gun's Akari then throws Crea down on her then splashes her for 2. Akari goes on the top rope and strangleholds Rydeen then Crea at the same time chokes Moeka on the ropes with her leg.

Moeka his some double stomps on Rydeen. Moeka then hangs off the top buckle and Rydeen splashes her. Moeka tries forearms on Rydeen but gets nowhere and ends up hitting a meteora from the 2nd rope for 2. Moeka then gets caught with a Rydeen spinning backbreaker. Akari gets in and tries some dropkicks on Rydeen then 2nd rope dropkicks her for 2.

Rydeen running lariats Akari in the corner then vader bombs her for 2. Crea and Akari have a fun little spot where they roll through figure four attempts. Crea evades a 619 then ties her up which Moeka breaks up. Crea facekicks Akari then northern lights suplexes her for 2. Akari then hits her with a nice lariat and a suplex for 2. Moeka gets tagged in and top rope crossbodies Crea.

Moeka barely gets a christo on her and it turns intoa grounded christo. Moeka double stomps Crea's back as she is on all fours then hits some knees to the face. Crea does a nice roll through into an ankle lock on Moeka and Akari breaks it up. Akari northern lights suplexes Crea then Moeka double stomps Crea off the 2nd rope for 2.

Moeka and Akari take a double clothesline from Rydeen then Moeka takes a reverse brazilian kick and a german from Crea for 2. Crea then rotation splashes Moeka from the top for 2 and they trade pin attempts. Moeka does a real nice rolling pin clutch and wins it.

This wasn't bad but it could have been a little better. It could have gone longer and some of the submission attempts kind of hurt the flow here.

Daily Sports Tag Titles - Arisa Nakajima and Hanako Nakamori vs Rina Yamashita and Miyuki Takase

Rina poses over the announcer when she announcers her name. Arisa forgets to grab her title for their photo pose. Arisa then refuses to shake hands and slaps MT when she comes up to her.

Hana and Rina go at it to start then Rina takes a double kick from Arisa and Hana then a basement dropkick. Arisa takes a big slam then her and MT go at it. They grab each other by the hair then MT rolls her around the ring. Arisa slingblades her and Hana continues the beating. MT comes back, hitting Arisa on the apron then Arisa ends up crossbodying her own partner off the top. Rina half crabs Hana then Arisa comes in to slap her. Rina then goes after Arisa on the apron. Arisa gets in and facekicks Rina and knocks MT off the apron.

Arisa rolls Rina into a double stomp then nails MT on the apron. Arisa then top rope dropkicks Rina for 2. They trade forearms. MT gets in and top rope dropkicks Arisa  then top rope forearms her for 2. Arisa hits a stiff slap and forearm combo. She then facekicks her for 2. MT comes back with a slam then a grounded octopus variation.

Hana goes in and hits a combo then facekicks her. Rina facekicks Hanako while not being the legal person in then MT hits a rolling fireman's carry but misses a 2nd rope legdrop. MT gers a german suplex but comes back up and lariats Hana. MT the cutters Hana for 2.

Hana and Rina go at it. Rina ddt's her and goes up top, but is double superplexes for 2. Hana then shining wizard's Rina for 2 at 15 minutes. Aria hits a release german on MT then gets backdropped by Rina. Rina hits a big lariat on Hana and everyone is down. Hana shining wizards Rina then michinoku drivers her for 2.

Arisa accidentally facekicks her partner Hana then Hana gives one back to her before both get clotheslined by Rina. MT and Rina sandwich lariat Hana then Rina lariats her for 2. MT 2nd rope legdrops Hana then Rina top rope splashes her. Arisa then top rope footstomps Rina while she is on Hana. Arisa holds up Rina for a kick but Hana misses and nails her. She then high kicks Rina and Rina hits a peach sunrise for 2. Arisa facekicks Rina into a Hana backslide and Hana/Arisa win it.

This was a good one. They went around 20 minutes. It was stiff, they were heated with each other and they kept it moving. It was what you would expect and exactly what you would hope for from these girls.

Overall thoughts: The main was real good and I liked 3 of the 4 matches here. It could have been better, but this was a good effort by Pure-J and I liked it.

Stardom 3/27/2022 - Stardom World Climax Day 2

Stardom 3/27/2022 - Stardom World Climax Day 2

I reviewed the top 4 matches here...and it was easily over a hour and a half.

Kairi vs Starlight Kid

They each try to get the fans to cheer for them early. Kid hits a basement dropkick the ngets it back after taking a headscissors. Kairi tries to dive off the top onto her outside but Kid goes under the ring and gets behind her and attacks. Kid then asai moonsaults her on the outside.

Back in and Kid hits a standing moonsault for 2. Kairi tries to fight off but gets pulled from the outside by Oedo Tai. She then hits a big spear on her and shotgun dropkicks her. Kairi then sliding d's her in the corner then punches her from the top. Kairi goes up top and gets armdragged down. Kairi then lightning spirals her for 2 and misses a rotation splash in mid-air.

They run at each other and Kairi slides under her and then pulls on both legs. They trade forearms and Kid blocked her sliding d with a kick to the arm. Kairi uraken's her then Kid hits a tiger suplex for 2. Kid then tombstones her for 2. Kid running double knees her back as she is kneeling.

They go up to pand Kid hangs from the top then Kairi double stomps her down. Kairi then uraken's her for 2 and hits an alabama slam. Kairi hits her top rope elbow and wins it.

It was longer and slower than I would have liked. It was okay though and I think it elevated Kid some.

DDM vs. Prominence: Giulia, Maika, Himeka & Thekla va Risa Sera, Suzu Suzuki, Akane Fujita & Mochi Miyagi

DDM rushes their opponents at the bell then Suzu and Giulia go head to head. They go outside and fight into the crowd. Himeka and Mochi shoulder each other down then DDM does corner attacks on their opponents. Thekla beats up on Akane for a while and gets a shoulder block after hitting a spin kick. Thekla gets bridhed over the middle rope then Akane splashes her from the top. akane then hits a big slam on Thekla for 2.

Suzu top rope dropkicks Thekla and knocks her down with a nice forearm, but Thekla comes back and spears her. Suzu slaps Giulia a bunch of times then Giulia takes her down and puts her in a rings of saturn variation. They trade forearms then Giulia runs into a superkick. She then gets a release german but no sells it then Suzu no sells her release backdrop. Suzu then rolls and snaps her backwards. Giulia hits a big knee on her then sit out slams her but lifts her head up for 2. Suzu then slow german suplexes her.

Giuulia slaps Suzu around they headbutt battle which Giulia wins. The other 6 wrestlers finally get in here and Giulia gets a cradle shock then a vader bomb for 2. Giulia top rope dropkicks Mochi for 2. Mochi hits a surprise Thesz press on Giulia. Akane and Risa take double fallaway slams then Mochi gets double chokeslammed and takes a fire thunder from Giulia for the win. Giulia and Suzu continue to go at it after.

I appreciated them putting over Giulia vs Suzu but it looked silly when there were 6 other people in the match and nobody wanted to do anything but watch. That part went on too long. The finishing stretch was also really disjointed from the rest of the match.

Wonder of Stardom Title - Saya Kamitani (c) vs Tam Nakano

They monkey flip each other and bridge at the same time with their arms hooked. Tam limbos out of a lariat then basement dropkicks her. Tam then pumping knees her and cutters her over the middle rope, giving her a tough fall to the floor. They run to the corners and follow the other and hit attacks.

Saya then goes up top and dropkicks her in the lower back. Tam goes outside and Saya springboard crossbodies her. Saya then springboard double stomps her back. Saya single leg crabs her and really cranks back and Tam hits the ropes. Saya goes for another springboard but Tam cutters her. Saya ropebreaks on a submission. Tam does like a hanging dragon sleeper to her but she gets out. Tam slaps her from the top then Saya gives her one back. Saya then hurricanrana'd her from the top to the floor.

Saya flurry stomps her on the floor then Tam knees her and lands hard on the non-covered floor. Tam then walks up into the stands and dives on her and a bunch of other people off an entrance way. The ref starts counting which is silly at this point as they have been outside a few minutes and both make it back in of course.

They trade forearms and Saya does a big pump kick that isn't sold. Tam then superkicks her and takes a big spin kick. Saya fisherman's suplexes her then flips over for another. She then fisherman's falcon arrows her then misses a pheonix splash. Tam then tiger drivers her for 2 and hits a big german suplex. They each run at each other with forearms then Tam spin kicks her and release tiger suplexes her. Tam then hits a stiff falcon arrow for 2. Say then rolls her up and tries to suplex her but Tam reverses it then somehow Saya pins her out of it.

I wasn't a fan of this one. It went too long, they didn't sell much at all and the finish stunk.

World of Stardom Title - Syuri (c) vs Mayu Iwatani

Slow start here with some basic stuff including a basement dropkick and back kick from Mayu. Syuri triangles her over the top rope then butterfly suplexes her for 2. Mayu gets thrown into the corner and runs up it then dropkicks Syuri. she then dropkicks her against the ropes. She tries for a tope but gets ddt'd through the ropes on the apron. Syuri then climbs the 2nd rope and legdrops her on the apron.

Syuri tries to to running kick Mayu off the apron but Mayu blocks it and dragon screws her. They trade shots and Mayu superkicks her while she's down. Mayu then topes her and dropkicks her off the top. Mayu misses a top rope footstomp then takes a john woo dropkick.

They run at each other with forearms then trade high kicks and both fall down. Mayu hits a flurry of knees to the gut and drops her with a forearm. Syuri starts stomping her then kicking her in the chest while she's on her knees. Mayu crucifixes her for 2 then crucfix bombs her for 2. Mayu then dragon suplexes her and top rope double knees her. Mayu goes for a top rope moonsault but misses then takes a running knee for 2.

Syuri puts her in a grounded sharpshooter. They both get up and Mayu superkicks her. They go up top and Syuri hammerlock suplexes her. She then stretch muffler's her and spins her around. Syuri then gorilla press gutbusters her then Mayu poisonrana's her. Mayu then hits a top rope moonsault and then another. Syuri hits an emerald fusion for 2. Syuri hits a running knee for 2. Syuri release germans her then emerald fusions her for 2.  Syuri then stretch mufflers her for the win.

I didn't think this was very good. They traded who was in control a lot and the submissions and finish didn't really make much sense throughout the match.

Stardom 3/26/2022 - Stardom World Climax Day 1

Stardom 3/26/2022 - Stardom World Climax Day 1

You know how it is with Stardom. I don't like a lot of the girls on top and I don't like the poaching they did. Beyond that, it's just too hard for me to keep up since they have multiple shows a week.

I skipped two matches here, but neither were big ones. As usual, the crowd can't cheer which brings down everything.

Future of Stardom Title - Hanan (c) vs Rina

They trade forearms to start and Hanan does a nice hip throw. Rina face kicks her then gets rolled up into a leg bar. Rina's leg gets wrapped in the ropes and Hanan dropkicks it, then northern lights suplexes her for 2. Hanan goes for a twisting crossbody off the 2nd rope, but gets kicked. Rina hits a big slap. Hanan then dropkicks her and then puts Rina in the stretch muffler.

Rina gets a meteora in then top rope double knee drops her for 2. Hanan STO's her then hits a nice fallaway slam clutch for 2. Rina then puts her on her back and drops her gori style for 2. Hanan hits a pumping knee then a fameasser for 2. Hanan backdrops her and holds on then does it again for the win.

I liked this. They went maybe 10 minutes tops here. It wasn't perfect as should have done the top rope knee drop better and the meteora wasn't done well, but I liked the general flow and idea of it. The two younger girls didn't look bad at all here.

Prominence (Risa Sera and Suzu Suzuki) vs Donna del Mondo (Maika and Thekla)

DDM rushes them before the bell and maika gets her head banged off a table. Thekla then gets her head banged off a post and Suzu nails her hard with a forearm. Risa puts Maika in a reverse rocking chair and drops her.

Maika's head hangs off the apron and Suzu runs and dropkicks it then footslaps her. Thekla fights off a 2v1 and double spears her opponents. She monkey flips Suzu but Suzu catches herself and spears her. Thekla spinning headscissors Risa and Thekla running facekicks her.

Risa does an unusual swinging drop over the back on Maika then meteora's her in the corner but Maika comes back with a suplex. Risa hits a nice death valley driver..only for a 1 count. Risa and Maika trade forearms the Maika lariats her. Risa then schwein's Maika and both tag out. Thekla and Suzu trade forearms and both girls bridge to evade lariats. Thekla indian deathlocks Suzu then Maika suplexes Suzu with a Thekla superkicks. Maika and Thekla then double sliding D Suzu.

Thekla gets stuck on the 2nd rope and Suzu does a sliding german to her. Suzu gets on Risa's back and they all drop down knees on Thekla from the top. Suzu slaps around Thekla then enzugiri's her. Suzu does a wild and nasty looking sit out full nelson bomb from the top then deadlift german's Thekla for the win.

I liked this one. It was fast paced and Prominence had some edge here to them. The top rope full nelson bomb was pretty wild and I liked the Prominence double knee drop from the top. Thekla's a real weird one and I just don't think she is that good though.

Goddesses of Stardom Title - Oedo Tai (Momo Watanabe and Starlight Kid) vs STARS (Hazuki and Koguma)

2 years ago, Momo might have main evented this show. Now? She's nowhere close to that level and probably won't be ever again due to new people in charge.

Hazuki basement dropkicks Momo early and facewashes her. Koguma then stomps on Momo's back while holding the top rope. Everyone goes outside then Momo slams Hazuki on the floor then Koguma gets slammed on top of her. Momo hits a hard chest kick on Koguma. OT does a double hip toss on Hazuki, but she springs off the ropes and double armdrags them. She then topes both of them.

Hazuki springboard dropkicks Kid for 2 then Kid comes back with a top rope splash off the top. Kid and Hazuki trade forearms and Hazuki wns that battle. Kazuki then takes a kick and 619 combo while laying over the middle rope. Hazuki codebreakers Kid then pumping kicks her.

Koguma gets in and flurry forearms Momo then gets dropkicked her. Momo then does a uranage on her 2. Koguma top rope cutters Momo then top rope dropkicks her for 2. Momo hits a nasty release dragon suplex then takes a nasty german back. Koguma and Hazuk hit some sideways drop + neckbreaker combo on Momo. Kid does a top rope rotation splash on Koguma then Momo hits a peach sunrise on Koguma for 2. Koguma reverses a double team for a pin attempt on Momo then gets a high kick for 2.

Oedo Tai gets on the apron and Momo chairs Hazuki then hits a clutch tombstone on Koguma for 2. Kid then dropkciks a chair in Koguma's face then Koguma takes a double team pendulum drop and a last falconry type of of move for the win.

This went on way too long and they kicked out of too much. Shave 1/3rd of this off and this would have been better.

KAIRI and Mayu Iwatani vs Cosmic Angles (Tam Nakano and Unagi Sayaka)

I wasn't a fan of this one. There's two ways to do matches where someone returns and their opponent either gets beat up until they make the hot tag in and win it or they win quickly. They had a match that started off really slow with Kairi getting in early and just did a normal match. At least Kairi got the win though.

Wonder of Stardom Title - Saya Kamitani vs Utami Hayashishita

Saya gets her back worked over. Utami gets hung over the apron and Saya hits kicks. Saya springboards up and Utami kind of back body drops her. Saya then hits a tope con hilo. They traded forearms and Saya eventually hit a standing spanish fly. Saya was lariated on the apron and kind of landed on her head in slow motion. Saya then hurricanrana'd her off the apron. Utami then hit a samurai driver on her and top rope dropkicked her. Utami then hit a stiff german for 2.

Saya came back with a stiff poisonrana then northern lights suplexed her for 2. Utami went for a splash mountain but Saya reversed it with a hurricanrana then Utami flipped her with a lariat. Saya hit a stiff spinning heel kick then a fisherman's driver for 2. Saya then got the win with the phoenix splash.

It went close to 30 minutes. It didn't really drag. Utami spent the early part working the back then it lost most of its logic from there. Saya definitely did work as an underdog here. I thought the pacing was okay and they didn't overdo it too much, but I still wouldn't call it particularly special.

Saya did a promo on her after and said she turned the tables on her and got the big win. She said she is fighting Tam tomorrow then Tam came out. she touched her belt and grabbed her by the hair. Saya said she is Stardom and they sized each other up. Tam's voice was shot here and she was hoarse.

World of Stardom Title - Syuri vs Giulia

Ami Miura is with Syuri and is yet another Stardom poach.

Syuri accidentally kicks the post only then has her head banged off it. They trade forearms. They go outside and Giulia abdominal stretches her on the floor then jumps off the ref's back for a dropkick. Giulia then piledrivers her through a table. Giulia top rope dropkicked for 2. Giulia charged into Syuri and got hit with plexiglass then double underhook suplexed her on the floor.

Giulia goes up top and leg drops her while she stands. Syuri release germans her then Giulia does it back. Giulia then capture suplexes her. Syuri hit a pumping knee then a gorilla press gutbuster for 2. Syuri hit some headkicks from the apron then Giulia hit a top rope butterfly suplex. Syuri then lawn darted her into the buckle then Giulia hit a release back drop that looked dangerous.

Syuri then hit a sitout slam for 2 at 20 minutes and Giulia came back with a stiff emerald flowsion. They slap each other and Syuri drops her with a hard chest kick. Giulia then hit a wrist clutch release back drop and v-trigger'd her for 2. Giulia then sitout slammed her for 2.

Giulia hit a northern lights bomb for 2 but Syuri hit the ropes. syuri came back with high kicks and an emerald flowsion for 2. Syuri buzzsaw kicked her for 2 then hit an electric chair driver for the win at around 26 minutes.

This wasn't too good. They just did too much and there wasn't much of a story built early on. Too many kickouts and just not smart work.

Syuri said she is leaving Donna del Mundo after and forming her own group.

Overall thoughts: The presentation was good and it felt like a big show, but most of the matches went too long and they did too much in them.

PURE-J 3/21/2022

PURE-J 3/21/2022

Leon vs Madeline

They go to the mat to start. Mad drops down and gets stomped then does a sloppy kip-up armdrag. Mad walks up the ropes and poses then armbars Leon over the top rope. Leon then flip sentons her as she is on the mat and stretches her. Mad gets put on the top rope and does Leon's pose at her then is pulled down.

Mad cartwheel back elbows Leon then hammerlocks her but Leon hits the ropes. Leon hits a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker then does a high boston crab. Mad hits some chest kicks then gets an exploder suplex. Leon does a nice roll into a backbreaker over her back. Mad kicks her in the leg and gets a roll-up. Leon does a nice spinning slam and then spears her for 2. Leon then hits a top rope frogsplash to win it.

It was alright with Leon hitting everything near perfectly like she usually does and Madeline continuing to improve. You could have probably shaved a few minutes off of this and not lost anything.

Princess of POP Title - AKARI (c) vs Riko Kaiju

I really don't know if it's Riko or Rico. I've seen it spelled both ways on this channel and it's basically interchangeable in Japan anyway.

Akari hits a dropkick to start then slams her, then Riko hits some dropkicks back and crabs her. Riko hair throws her around and Akari comes back with a tarantula on the ropes. Riko hits a hard dropkick to the shoulder then they trade forearms. Riko then hits a nice neckbreaker for 2 and rolls her into an indian deathlock choke. Riko then turns it into a grounder sleeper but Akari rolls to the ropes.

Riko takes a 619 then a northern lights suplex. Riko comes back with a flurry of stomps then crossbodies her off the 2nd rope for 2. Akari comes back with a pump kick then tries some roll-ups for 2. Akari spinning lariats her then puts her in a deep tequila sunrise for the win.

The finish was really out of nowhere here and had little to do with anything. The match was okay otherwise as they did mesh well together.

Mystery Captain's Elimination Rules - Rydeen Hagane, Momo Tani and KAZUKI vs Kaori Yoneyama, Kakeru Sekiguchi and Makoto

They didn't note this on their video, but basically, each team has a captain. Neither team knows who the captain is and you can eliminate people by pinfall, submission or throwing them over the top.

Yone's team goofs around then attacks. Yone gets popped up into a knee the Momo gets popped up and drops a double knee on Yone. We get a 6 person sleeper hold and Yone gets running knees while on the ropes. Momo does her taunt on Yone's back. Momo then gets tied up in the ropes and a whole group of people pose around her. Makoto then double stomps her for 2.

Kakeru gets in and Momo drops a hard double knee on her back then Rydeen is tagged in and runs over Kakeru. Rydeen splashes all 3 opponents in the corner then splashes Kakeru for 2. Kak springboard twisting crossbodies Rydeen then dropkicks her from the buckles for 2. Makoto gets in and double knee drops Rydeen. Makoto spears her but she doesn't sell it then she superkicks Makoto.

Yone trades mongolian chops for Kaz's knees to the gut. Yone comes off the 2nd rope and lands on Kaz's shoulders and takes a cutter. They mess up a triple irish whip spot then splash people in 3 different corners, then do vader bomb style double knee drops. Kaz takes a bunch of moves and Yone sentons her off the 2nd rope. Yone goes for a code red but is lariated off then Momo gets on Rydeen's shoulders and is flipped onto Yone. We thought we had a pinfall as everyone stopped for a second, but it was not to be.

Rydeen side slams Makoto then Makoto takes a double knee drop from Kaz and Momo. Rydeen and Momo are laying on the 2nd rope and Makoto kicks the rope. Makoto thinks she has a pin but it turns out not to be again. Rydeen backdrops Kak and Makoto at the same time then vader bombs Makoto for 2.

Rydeen is on the top rope and Kak jumps off of Makoto's back to knock her over the ropes. They think this is a fall, but again, it is not. Momo gets beat up 2v1 then Makoto cartwheel kneedrops her for 2. Kak hits an STO on Momo then takes a codebreaker.

Momo tries to attack Makoto on the ropes but she tries to throw her over, then almost goes over herself. Kak tries to dropkick Makoto off the apron but Rydeen and Kazuki stop it then Kak and Momo knock Makoto off the ropes and the match ends soon after. Makoto was the mystery captain. Kazuki and Yoneyama argue after on the mic likely to set up a match.

The rules were confusing here especially since Pure-J didn't say what they were on their video. The rules were a bit silly and I think this would have worked better as an elimination match or a regular tag match. I did like this though. It was fast paced, the action really flowed together and Pure-J team really worked well together. They got a lot of time to do this as well. It was an entertaining match and maybe one I'd even recommend seeing.

Hanako Nakamori vs Crea

Crea dropkicks her in the back to start then is hair thrown. Crea chokes her over the top rope with her inner leg then dropkicks her as she is tied up in the ropes. Crea then hair throws her. Hana ties her up in the ropes and pushes on her head with her foot then goes to work on her leg. Hana then single leg crabs her but Crea hits the ropes.

Hana lights her up with kicks then Crea flurry chops her. Crea hits some face kicks and gets legdropped as her head is over the middle rope. Crea dragon screws her while she is up top then ankle locks her. Then later, Crea top rope dropkicks her for 2. Crea kneebreakers her over her knee then northern lights suplexes her for 2.

Hana comes back with a face kick then Crea dragon screws her. Crea hits a spinning high kick and a german for 2. Hana hits a high kick then running face kicks her for 2. Hana hits another high kick for a close 2. Hana then wins it with her shining wizard.

It wasn't as good as I had hoped. The ankle/leg work Crea did ultimately meant nothing and they really didn't go toe to toe exchanging strikes like I hoped. It's not like it was bad but it just wasn't the big singles match I expected.

Overall thoughts: It was an alright show. Not a blowaway show but all of the matches were at least passable and I did like the trios match.

Ice Ribbon 3/26/2022 - Ice Ribbon #1188

Ice Ribbon 3/26/2022 - Ice Ribbon #1188

Yuuki Mashiro vs. Sumika Yanagawa vs. Saran

They do a three person wristlock then Yuuki and Sumika each work Saran's arm. Saran crossbodies Yuuki then is tied up in the ropes and takes a double knee. The girls all try roll-ups on each other then Yuuki rolls up both at the same time (this exact same spot as done almost at the exact same timne on TJPW today).

Sumika hits a stiff boot to the chest of Yuuki then Yuuki went for eye pokes. Saran came off the top and crossbodied both during it. Saran then hit some dropkicks but they didn't phase Yuuki until about the 5th one. Saran pounded on her opponent with forearms then sunset flipped Yuuki with Sumika also trying to get the pin. Yuuki then blocked Saran's roll-up and rolled her up for the win.

This was short and fast paced and wasn't bad at all. Saran continues to impress and is really getting better by the show here.

Yappy vs Misa Kagura

Yappy hurt her knee and hasn't been wrestling much. They shoulder battle to start and Yappy splahes her back on the ropes. Yappy throws Misa then sits on her throat on the bottom rope. Yappy sits on Misa's back and double reverse armbars her. Misa comes back with a dropkick and tries to boston crab her but Yappy blocks it.

Yappy puts her inbetween the buckles then splashes her. Yappy then gives her a hard running hip attack while she is kneeling. She then butt drops her as she lays chest up on the bottom rope. Misa flurry forearms Yappy in the corner then sits on her back while she is standing for a double reverse armbar.

Yappy nails her with a lariat, knocking her over then she airplane spins her into a drop for 2. Yappy hits a sloppy slam. Misa goes up top and sunset flips her then just sits on her and pulls forward to win. Yappy goes after Misa after the match and has to be stopped.

The finish was out of nowhere and seemed botched. This was a decent one though with Yappy bringing some hoss work here.

Asahi vs Tsukasa Fujimoto

Asahi dropkicks her as she has her robe on then Tsuka gives it back. Asahi headscissors her then facebusters her for 2. Tsuka puts her in the octopus stretch. Tsuka then ties her up in the ropes and dropkicks Asahi in the back. Tsuka charges at her and Asahi hits a nice spin into a grounded octopus.

Asahi top rope dropkicks her then Tsuka cmes back with a heavenly lock on her. Asahi top rope dropkicks her for 2 and they trade forearms. Asahi hits some roll-ups for 2 then hits some double axe handle shots. They both try for roll-ups as the time gets close to expiring and Tsuka hits some PK's for a close 2. Asahi hits a northern lights suplex but the time expires.

This was real fast paced and Asahi got a lot in here. She got a few moves in that I didn't expect and did a lot of the work here. This wasn't bad at all and continues to show Asahi's improvement.

Nao Ishikawa & Totoro Satsuki vs. Kaho Matsushita & Tsukushi Haruka

Totoro and Tsukushi meet for the title like 24 hours after this happens. Tsu tries to armdrag her but gets blocked and then armdragged. Tsu goes for her roll-up into a double stomp but Totoro moves. Nao gets in and slams Tsu then works over Kaho. Totoro delay slams Kaho then slams Nao on Kaho at 5 minutes. Nao sits on Kaho but Tsu dropkicks her off. Kaho then hits a nice dropkick on Nao then Tsu does as well.

Tsu forces Totoro to armdrag Nao in a dumb spot then pushes her into a splash on Nao. Nao surfboards Tsu then puts her on her back only to gutbuster her. Totoro gets in and sentons Tsu then goes for a crossbody but Tsu counters with a dropkick in mid-air. They trade forearms and Tsu wins that exchange with a flurry of them. Totoro goes up top and Tsu tries to snap mare her and ends up dangling from her, then Kaho has to help. Totoro then akes a double team kick for 2 then Tsu's short hurricanrana.

Totoro shoulders over Kaho then Nao cartwheel splashes her. Tsu dropkicks her through the ropes then Tsu and Naho top rope dropkick Totoro. Nao top rope crossbodies Kaho then Totoro does a rolling fireman's carry to her, but Tsu top rope double stomps her. Tsu is on the bottom rope and Totoro hits a stiff lariat, sending her crashing hard over the ropes. Totoro crossbodies Kaho for 2 then sentons her off the 2nd rope for the win.

This was a good one. The action was fast paced, they connected on their shots and it was the standard Ice Ribbon dojo main event just as you like it. Totoro and Tsukushi matched up well here and I'd like to see their match this weekend if it ever airs.

Tototor and Tsukushi talk on the mic after then everyone comes out for the photo-op.

Overall thoughts: I liked this one. All four of the matches were decent and the main was good.

WWE NXT Level Up 3/25/2022

WWE NXT Level Up 3/25/2022

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2022/03/wwe-nxt-level-up-3182022.html

Joe takes credit for making NXT Level Up. He says his opponent deserves a chance tonight for helping them break barriers.

Joe Gacy vs Quincy Elliot

Harland is out there with Joe as usual. Quincy Elliot may have the worst look in wrestling. He wears a long sleeve Fat Albert shirt and some shiny pants and he's easily over 350. I can't believe Vince let this guy on TV.

Quincy does some awful gyration and runs him over with a shoulder. Joe then hits some punches then chops. Qincy tries for a fireman's carry takeover but gets blocked and pounded on. Quincy hits some headbutts then splashes Joe's back. Harland gets on the apron and Quincy blows a kiss at him, then Joe puts himself in the tree of woe. Joe then kicks him from there and hits the handspring into the lariat from the ropes.

This was real quick and I just don't know what they were thinking with Quincy Elliot. He does seem to have some charisma to him and he can move, but his look is one of the worst ever.

Kiana James vs Ivy Nile

Kiana is Kayla Inlay. Her name sucked so I can get why they changed her name. Kiana kind of got a big entrance and an inset promo. She said 3 months ago she was working in an office and just dreaming of being a superstar. She said this is the first chapter. KJ kips up early and Ivy hip throws her. KJ uses the ropes to flip out of a wristlock. Ivy pulls her hair on a hiptoss attempt and clubs her chest then pounds on her.

Ivy snap suplexes her then does a superman forearm. Ivy then single leg dropkicks her in the corner for 2. KJ hits some okay lariats and slams her. She hits some corner spears then sideslams her for 2. Ivy then hit her dragon sleeper variation out of nowhere and won it.

Kiana didn't do anything wrong here and Ivy continues to look really good. It wasn't great or anything.

Jacket Time vs Edris Enofe and Malik Blade

Jiro does a nice leg trip and splits Blade's legs. Blade hits a high dropkick then Jiro taks a double hiptoss for 2. Jiro does a slingshot senton on Enofe's back. Kushida then does his hip toss into a dropkick on Enofe and Jiro hits some jacket punches.

Enofe rolls then single leg crabs Jiro. Kushida gets a hot tag in with a top rope chop and some kicks. Kushida then crossbodies him and hits a bicycle kick. Kushida handsprings into the corner and kicks both opponents then Jiro and Kushida baseball slide them. Jiro then top rope swantons Blade for 2. Kushida goes for a springboard back elbow but is caught then double team sitout powerbombed for the Enofe/Blade win.

It was short and not too bad at all. It's a total waste of Jiro and Kushida though and you have to imagine they are not happy with how things have turned out.

Overall thoughts: We had 3 decent and short matches. Nothing bad but nothing really worth seeing aside from Quincy Elliot's awful ring gear.
