Ice Ribbon 7/23/2022 - New Ice Ribbon #1216

Saran vs Ibuki Hoshi

Saran tries some roll-ups to start and blows some spot and they do an awkward dance. Saran backslides her. Ibuki then pushes her foot on her face in the corner then camel clutches her. Ibuki then snap mares her and pulls both arms back. Saran stands on her fingers then stomps them and dropkicks her as she is in the ropes. Saran hits some chest clubs and Ibuki drops her with a single chop.

They trade chops and Saran hits dropkicks. Ibuki basement dropkicks her then dropkicks her in the ropes. Ibuki then single leg crabs her then Saran goes up and over and rolls her up in the corner. Saran rolls her with a side headlock then does Sarray's dropkick through the ropes move. Saran then hit a top rope crossbody for 2. Ibuki then hit a running double chop for 2 and a lightning spiral to win it.

It got better later on but the first half of this was rough. Saran was doing a lot more here than usual and busted out some new moves.

Asahi vs Yura Suzuki

Yura rolls out of a wristlock then Asahi punches her in the head off a side headlock. Asahi gives her noogies and slaps her in the head. Asahi then foot chokes her. Asahi puts her in a camel clutch.

Yura comes back with a slam then kicks Asahi in the back for 2. Yura shoulders over Asahi then Asahi forearms her in the chest. They trade chest forearms then Yura high kicks her in the chest for 2. Aasahi stunners her over the top rope then goes up top and is snapmared off. Asahi then trips her into an armbar.

Asahi 619's her for 2 then Yura suplexes her and rolls her into an armbar. Asahi ropebreaks then rolls her up for 2. Asahi hits either a botched flatliner or clothesline then rolls her into an AT Lock variation. Yura taps out while in it and Asahi wins.

This wasn't anything special and the outcome was obvious.

Asahi goes to shake hands after and is slapped.

Misa Kagura & Yuko Sakurai vs Chie Ozora & Kaho Matsushita

Yuko tries a test of strength with Chie to start but Yuko is too tall. Kaho kicks her from behind and Yuko drops down to size. Chie and Kaho then walk the top rope with their opponents arms and Chie armdrags Yuko off of it. Yuko and Misa double elbow drop Chie then Yuko walks on her.

Misa gets in and takes dropkicks from Chie. Chie then ties up Misa in the ropes and stands on her and dropkicks her in the back. Misa sits on Chie's back and double reverse armbars her. Misa crabs Chie then Kaho breaks it up. Chie and Misa trade chest clubs and Chie flurries her with them. Misa then runs her over with a shoulder.

Yuko gets in and splashes Chie then cobra twists her. Chie triangles her over the top rope then puts her in cattle mutilation. Chie ddt's her then Kaho gets in and hits a hard dropkick. Kaho back kicks and PK's her. Yuko then shoulders over Kaho.

Kaho takes a sandwich lariat from her opponents then Misa climbs Yuko's back and they splash Kaho. Yuko like does a weird running side spear on Kaho then Misa dropkicks Kaho. Misa then shoulder throws Kaho into a body scissors. Misa then pulls back on both of Kaho's arms while Yuko camel clutches Chie. Kaho sunset flips Misa then dropkicks her. Chie hits a top rope dropkick on Misa then Kaho top rope crossbodies Misa for 2.

Misa tries to slam Kaho but can't then sentons her for 2. Kaho enzugiri's and rolls up Misa for 2. then tries more roll-ups. Yuko slams Kaho then Misa lariats Kaho for 2. Yuko shoulders both opponents over at the same time then Misa butt drops and pins Kaho to win it.

This was the most Misa has gotten to do yet. Chie's not the best, but she looked miles above most of the girls here. They kept the pace high, but this didn't have any real story to it or anything. I was surpried Kaho wasn't protected here, but Yuko and Misa do a lot of jobs and I guess it was their turn to win.

Totoro Satsuki vs Sumika Yanagawa

Ew, Sumika in a singles match. That doesn't sound like a good idea.

Totoro slaps a wristlock on her early then they reverse each other. Totoro bowls her over with a shoulder then Sumika dropkicks her. Sumika pulls both her arms back and stretches her then Totoro slams her.

Totoro stands on her back then bow and arrows her. Totoro is tripped into the ropes then Sumika jumping double knees her and dropkicks her. Sumika then handstand double kneedrops her. Sumika running double knees her in the corner and Totoro hits a strong running lariat. Totoro then hits a senton and falling splash for 2.

Totoro crabs her and they trade chest clubs. Sumika back crackers her then rolls over into an indian deathlock. Sumika takes a lariat against the ropes then hits some spinkicks that looked good for a chance. Sumika banged Totoro's head off the mat after, only to take a Finlay roll for 2. Totoro crossbodies her for 2 then wins it with a lariat.

Sumika looked better than usual as her kicks had some force behind them and Totoro was decent as usual. It was okay enough but nothing special. I would have liked more big girl vs smaller girl stuff here.

Overall thoughts:
It's not good times at Ice Ribbon. Half the roster is out or gone and they have a small, limited roster of girls who aren't ready for main events yet. I wasn't too interested in this one.
