New Japan Pro Wrestling 7/26/2022 G1 Climax 32 Day 6

New Japan Pro Wrestling 7/26/2022 G1 Climax 32 Day 6

I just saw the G1 matches here, and believe me, that was a chore.

G1 Climax 32 Block C Match - KENTA vs EVIL

Evil tries to go for him off the handshake. Dick Togo gets on the apron. Kenta goes under the ring and hands Evil a book then Evil throws him outside where they fight. Kenta goes to hit him with the ring bell hammer, Evil blocks it with the ring bell and they knock the announcer outside. Evil throws him into the exposed buckle inside.

The ref gets hit and Togo interferes, leading to Kenta taking a magic killer. The ref gets knocked over again and ddt'd. Togo gets caught by the ref with a crutch and Kenta pretends to get hit by it and rolls up Evil. Kenta put him in the crossface and the lights went out and came back on with Evil choking him.

They then went outside and dueled chairs then Kenta chaired him and choked him with it. They both try to beat the count in, but Togo holds Kenta's foot and he is counted out.

This was awful and a total embarrassment.

G1 Climax 32 Block B Match - Chase Owens vs Great-O-Khan

Khan has powder thrown in his face during entrance then Chase rushes him with a superkick and neckbreaker. Chase teases him by running away while he is blinded then he northern lights suplexes him. Chase when pulls his pony tail and neckbreakers him. They trade chest slaps then Khan mongolian chops him.

Khan baseball slides Chase as he is in tree of woe then kicks him for 2. Chase comes back with a slingshot codebreaker. They go outside and Chase has his head slammed off the apron. Chase tries to roll him up with his feet on the ropes. Chase sunset flips him into the buckles.

Khan claws him then backbreaker claws him. Khan hits a spike tombstone for 2. Chase grabs his arms and pulls him into the ropes, yanking him back. Chase then package piledrivers him and wins it.

This wasn't any good and Khan losing to Chase, who is a total geek, was weird.

G1 Climax 32 Block A Match - Tom Lawlor vs Lance Archer

Tom avoids some charges early and slaps on a guillotine. Tom tries to trade forearms with him then Tom hits leg kicks. Lance then pounces him off the criss cross. Tom is thrown in the rails. and back dropped from the floor to the apron. Lance hits some corner back elbows then Tom comes back with punches. Lance bangs his head off the buckle and lariats him in the same swing. Lance then release suplexes him.

Tom hits a flurry of elbows then Lance boots him in the face. Tom hits more forearms and catches Lance's pounce attempt with a guillotine. They fight on the apron and Lance chokeslams Tom off of it onto Royce Isaacs outside. Lance then black hole slams him for 2.

Tom somehow gets a uranage off him for 2. Tom jumps on his back for a sleeper and Lance throws him off. Tom sits on the top rope and is punched then takes a reverse razor's edge for the Lance Archer win.

I wasn't fan of this. It went too long when it should have just been a squash. Lance should have had no problem with Tom and Tom should have had to have cheated to do anything to him.

G1 Climax 32 Block D Match - David Finlay vs Juice Robinson

Finlay blocks a hiptoss and armdrags him early. Finlaay dropkicks him after a roll-up. He taunts him and has something thrown at him, then he is flipped off. Juice then pulls down his arm over the top rope and throws him into the rails. Juice then wraps his arm around the rail and kicks the rail. Juice works the arm and ddt's it.

Juice works the arm over the shoulder and FInlay jumping neckbreakers him. Juice throws Finlay's shoulder into the buckles and fujiwara armbars him. Juice throws him into the rails more outside. Juice removes the mats outside the ring and is back body dropped on the very hard Korakuen floor, which I don't recommend. Finlay then starts throwing him into the rails. Finlay then backdropos him on the apron from the floor.

They go back in and Finlay uranage backbreakers him. Finlay the nrunning clotheslines him in the back of the head. Finlay then pulls his hand around the middle rope and bites his fingers. Juice undoes the turnbuckle pad, pokes him in the eye then throws him into the exposed buckles. Juice hits a big punch then gutbusters him.

Juice cannonballs him in the corner then superplexes him. Finlay then comes right back with a brainbuster over the knee and Juice rolls out. Juice then hits an unprettier and Finlay cutters him off the obttom rope. Finlay hits something like a sliced bread without the flip for 2. Finlay lariats him over the top. Finlay tries to plancha him outside but is swatted down and piledrivered on the floor.

Juice reverse airplane spins him and lets him down then ends up nailing the ref in the corner on accident. Juice grabs his title belt to hit Finlay with and has to use it to block his shillelagh shot, then gets hit with the shillelagh. Finlay then stupidly picks him up from the pin attempt and brainbusters him over the knee to win it.

They tried to have a classic but didn't quite deliver on it. They worked the arm for a while which went nowhere and they definitely did more kicking out than they needed to. The weapons and ref bump also didn't do much to aide the match.

Overall thoughts: It looked like a bad night at the G1 and it was. I hope this is the last time they ever do 4 blocks again.
