Owen Hart Tournament Quarterfinal - Johnny Elite vs Samoa Joe
John Morrison is the Joker and gets a buy because of reasons. Joe chops him early and Johnny back rolls into a takedown. Johnny hits some forearms then is run over with a back elbow. Johnny superkicks him. Joe comes back with punches then Johnny does a cartwheel into a lariat. Johnny then does a side flip from the top onto Joe outside.
We go to PiP break and return. Joe hits a shoulder and Johnny does a great corkscrew flip for it. Joe then running facekicks him and sentons him for 2. Johnny does his flipping samoan drop then 450's Joe for 2. Johnny goes for starship pain but Joe puts his knees up then slap flurries him. Joe then muscle busters Johnny to win it.
Lethal, Dutt and Satnam Singh attack Joe after. Lethal hits Joe in the shoulder with a pipe then Best Friends make the save for Joe.
I didn't like Johnny losing on his debut here. I thought Johnny looked good but Joe seems slower than he used to be. I thought it was okay with some good Johnny highlights.
We were told in the back that Jeff Hardy is cleared to wrestle. The Young Bucks come in and try to talk Jeff into taking the night off tonight. They say Jeff is a shell of his former self but Jeff says he has a tournament to win. Matt Hardy calls them Hardy cosplayers.
Konosuke Takeshita vs Adam Page
CM Punk came out for commentary and wore a pro-abortion shirt. Why? KT face kicks Page and they trade forearms. Page then fallaway slams him and springboards off the 2nd rope to lariat him off the apron. Page then plancha's him. KT then plancha's him. Page backdrops him on the apron then moonsaults him off the top.
We come back and KT does a flying clothesline then a blue thunder driver. KT then flip topes him outside. Page hits some facekicks in the corner then KT takes a very unsafe release german then release germans him. They lariat each other at the same time and fall down.
Page tombstones him the misses a buckshot lariat. He hits some forearms then gets one back. KT then hits a stiff last ride style powerbomb for 2. He then pumping knees Page for 2. KT goes for a flying lariat but Page catches him with a forearm.
KT lariats Page off the top rope but he no sells it, lariats him and buckshot lariats him. Page then hits a go to sleep to send a message to Punk and wins it.
I hated the no sell at the end. There was just no excuse for that one. They never really explained how this one came to be and KT is now 0-2 on TV. They did too much here but they did match up better than I had expected.
Punk and Page stared each other down on the mic after and taunted each other. Page then moved him out of the way.
Fuego del Sol does a promo on the House of Black. He said it is time to even the odds and brings the Dark Order in. They said the odds are in their favor and said they are 10:1 since Uno and 10 are there.
Swerve Strickland and Keith Lee vs The Workhorsemen(JD Drake and Anthony Henry)
JD and Lee double chop each other. Henry shoots in on Swerve and is caught. Swerve euro uppercuts Henry's neck off the 2nd rope then JD comes in. Lee slingshots in with a crossbody on JD then Henry gets pounced by Lee. Henry then takes a top rope footstomp + sit out powerbomb combo for the Lee/Swerve win.
This was a short squash.
Lee gets on the mic after. He said he and Swerve a Top 5 ranked tag team with the win and is about to sat they deserve a title shot. Hobbs and Starks come out. Starks calls Lee "Rex from Toy Story" and thinks they don't deserve a shot before them. Not much is said then Jurassic Express come out. Christian says he wishes Stark would realize when to shut up. Christian says both are worthy teams but not the best. Christian says they should have a 3 way for the tag titles at Double of Nothing. Christian says he wants JB to get his win back and asks for JB vs Swere vs Starks. It's a great thing we have rankings when teams like FTR can be #1 Contenders, dual tag champs and still can't get a shot over other teams.
Red Velvet and Kris Statlander are interviewed. Red says things are different now between them and says she is bringing everything she has. Kris says things are different and says she is taking this opportunity to the top. She says it is strictly business and not personal. Jade comes in and says it's funny how Red tricked Kris into thinking they were friends and tells Tony to "cut the sh!t".

This was a good angle.

Trent Baretta and Rocky Romero said Roppongi Vice is back full-time. Rocky says the best way to return is to go for the ROH Tag Titles, IWGP Tag Titles and AEW Tag Titles. Trent challenges FTR for the ROH Tag Titles.
Owen Hart Tournament Quarterfinal - Rey Fenix vs Kyle O'Reilly
Kyle armbars him early then Rey rolls him up for pin attempts. They trade chops and Rey springboard kicks him then tope con hilo's him through the ropes. Rey springboards and gets caught with a triangle. Rey is then thrown into the post shoulder first. We go to PiP break and return. Kyle hits kicks and slaps then Rey fights back with chops and a spin kick to the gut.
Rey springboards into a kick in the face then Rey does a very unusual powerbomb type of move that I can't describe. Rey rolls into a hurricanrana for 2. Rey avoids a leg sweep then high kicks him then Rey flips himself into a Kyle double underhook. Kyle springboard spinkicks Rey then Rey half and half suplexes him. Rey and Kyle both do a bounce off the ropes/save themselves from falling out and strike each other. They then high kick and slap each other at the same time.
They continue to save themselves from falling outside then Rey walked the top rope and hurricanrana'd him off of it. Rey then tried to roll in to a cutter but Kyle hooked his arm and leg and tapped him.
The match was working for a little but they just got stupid and silly with the counters, rope rebounds and doing moves at the same time. It just turned into a joke.

The Blackpool Combat Club minus Yuta (who is in Japan) and Eddie Kingston, Santana and Ortiz came out. The Jericho Appreciation Society then followed. They said no pyro and no singing and yelled at them for booing them last week. The fans continued to sing Judas as he talked. Jericho said he thought Regal would be dead by now and is surprised he still has a brain that works.
Jericho said he should have been a champ but is instead a world class addict. He said Regal weaseled his way into AEW. He ran down the people with Regal. Jericho told Regal to go home as he said he would fireball him otherwise. He then said he might pee in his tea again. Regal said he used to stick Jericho's toothbrush up his butt. Garcia asked how Regal could do this and Regal said he did it to his last week. I don't know what that was about.
Jericho went to challenge them to Stadium Stampede. Mox said he isn't doing anymore of that. He said he wants an anything goes match. Jericho had Lee bring up things the Eddie and Bryan had said about each other. Eddie said he didn't care and wanted to fight. Jericho's group left and Bryan stopped Eddie from going after them. Eddie and Bryan then pushed each other.
This went on too long and didn't go over so well as the crowd wanted Stadium Stampede and they said no.
Matt Sydal and Dante Martin said the BCC can't get along with anyone. They said if they want a fight, they can do it on Rampage. This was odd and out of nowhere.

Maki was the Joker here. The crowd made some very funny faces during Maki's intro trying to figure out what was going on. Maki hugged her and pretended to purposely lose for her then rolled her up. Maki then pretended to cry after a shot and stepped on her foot. She then gave her the finger and misse dher headbutt. Britt then hit a sling blade for 2.
We went to PiP break and returned. Britt double underhook suplexed her. She put her glove on and tried to bang Maki's head off the buckle, but she wasn't affected due to her hard head. Maki then banged her own head off the buckle and headbutted her. Maki then tornado ddt'd her. Britt then lockjaws her and wins it.
I didn't like this one. AEW has always done a poor job explaining Maki and her losing on her return wasn't good. She also did all kinds of trademark spots but they don't really work when you don't know who she is or know any of them like most of the people here didn't.

Tony Schiavone talks about AEW's history then Serena Deeb comes out. Deeb said she was sick of hearing him talk and said she heard Tony say Deeb can't beat Thunder Rosa. Deeb said Tony made himself an idiot with that. Dustin Rhodes then comes out. She was mad at him too for picking Rosa over her. Deeb wanted to know why he said that. She said Dustin would respect him once he beats Rosa. Rosa comes down and wants at Deeb but Dustin stops her. Rosa elbows Dustin hard in the face then Deeb grabs the belt and hits Rosa with it.
I don't know what this was, but it sucked. I don't recall Dustin and Rosa being tied that much together, so this felt really out of place.

Hardy goes for whisper in the wind but misses it and Cole kind of kicks him during it. Hardy then hits a twist of fate.
Hardy misses a swanton bomb then Cole hits the boom knee to win it.
This wasn't anything special.

Overall thoughts: I didn't like this episode of Dynamite at all. I was so done with this by the Maki Itoh segment then the Deeb segment wasn't any better.
I don't know what this was, but it sucked. I don't recall Dustin and Rosa being tied that much together, so this felt really out of place.
