WWE NXT Level Up 5/27/2022

Chase U (Andre Chase and Bodhi Hayward) vs Bryson Montana and Damarius Griffin

This is Griffin's debut. Bodhi headlock takeovers Griffin then Griffin headlocks him back. Bodhi jumps too far on a drop down then hiptosses Griffin. Chase slingshot sunset flips Bryson then russian leg sweeps him. Chase then does the C-H-A-S-E-U stomps and Bryson stunguns him.

Griffin hits some stomps then Chase takes a double shoulder. Bryson and Griffin lightly run into each other in the corner then Bodhi does some football tackles. Bodhi hits a nice clothesline and splashes Bryson. Bodhi puts Bryson on his back then Chase does a twisting neckbreaker on Bryson to win it.

Bryson and Griffin were the heels here and didn't get to do too much. Chase and Bodhi were their usual selves here and Bodhi looked a little better with some extra force in his shots. The crowd loved Chase U and Bodhi.

 

Amari Miller vs Arianna Grace

Amari was real happy and bouncy during her entrance and Grace wore a boa to the ring. We were told the boa was passed down in her family.

Amari offers to shake hands and Grace pounds her. Amari then gives it back and shoulder throws her. Amari slides between Grace's legs and waves then shoulders her over. Grace forearms Amari in the back then bow and arrows her. Grace throws her hard into the buckles then slams her. Grace then puts her knee in Amari's back and pulls under her chin.

We had a dueling chant which was interesting then Amari made her comeback with clotheslines. She PK'd her then kicked her in the back. Grace sunset flipped her but Amari rolled through and rolled her up for the win.

Amari had her best performance yet here. It wasn't a fantastic performance or anything but she showed some personality. This was a very basic match here with simple stuff. No one botched anything but it wasn't anything special.

Dante Chen vs Trick Williams

Chen hit some armdrags early then slipped on a monkey flip that Trick cartwheeled out of. Trick hit a nice dropkick to the back of the head after draping Chen's neck over the top rope. Trick armbarred him and Chen tried to lift him while he was under in his armbar but couldn't.

Chen hit a jaw breaker and Trick did a nice sell for it then Chen got a lariat and a back elbow in. Chen atomic dropped him then backdropped him. Trick then did his spinning face kick and won it.

Trick didn't get to do a lot of his stuff here but his dropkick was nice. Chen can do the moves but he isn't very interesting as a personality and hasn't stood out yet.

Overall thoughts: There wasn't anything special on this one. Nothing was bad but nothing was that interesting either.
