Adam Page vs Claudio Castagnoli

Page hits him before his music finishes and CC fires back. They go outside and CC's head is banged off the rails. Page is sent into the rails outside. CC tries to throw him in the ring but Page half-rolls in then rolls out and hits him. CC eye pokes him when the ref tries to separate them then suplexes him. CC double stomps him in the gut for 2. CC stands on Page's gut then headbutts him. They trade forearms then CC pulls him down by the hair. CC puts him in the giant swing.

CC sharpshooters him then Page death valley drivers him. CC hits headbutts and a euro. Page backslides him then fallaway slams him. Page springboard lariats him on the apron then plancha's him. Page hits mounted punches outside then drinks a fans beer. CC gorilla presses him and slams him on the stage.

We go to PiP break and return. Page hits forearms then CC face kicks him on the apron. They fight on the stage and Page hits spinning forearms. Page runs down the ramp and lariats CC into the ring. Page goes for a buckshot lariat but takes a pop-up euro instead. They slap each other. Page lariats him over the top and goes with him outside.

Page moonsaults off the apron onto CC and is rammed into a wall. Page then ddt's him on the floor. Page goes up on the stage then moonsaults CC. Page comes off the 2nd rope and is caught. Page then tombstones him for 2. CC alley oops Page into the buckles then running euros him in the corner. CC hits more euros then short arm lariats him for 2.  Page hits deadeye for 2. Page springboards and takes an uppercut. They both sit on the top rope and Page hurricanrana's him off of it. Page hits a buckshot lariat then does a 2nd buckshot lariat to win it.

They did way too much here with people going into walls and getting tossed on the floor and stage yet still being able to go. I liked the aggression and fast pace here though and really would have liked this if they had done less.

We get a package on Brodie Lee.

Orange Cassidy, Preston Vance, Adam Copeland and Dustin Rhodes vs Brian Cage, Lance Archer and The Gates of Agony

Dustin and Toa go at it. Dustin drops down and uppercuts Toa. Dustin powerslams him then takes a headbutt. Vance and Cage go at it. Vance pump kicks him then Adam gets in. Adam leapfrogs Cage and trips him into the 2nd rope. OC gets in and gets caught on a crossbody. Adam dropkicks him to send Cage down. OC hits a stunner out of a Cage suplex then Kaun and Lance fight over a tag.

OC puts his hands in his pockets then Toa pounces OC out of the ring. We go to PiP break and return. Lance throws OC on a suplex then runs into a boot. Lance step up knees OC on the buckles. Jose grabs Lance's leg and Jake Roberts hits Jose from behind.

OC tries to chokeslams Lance then does his weak kicks when he gets caught. OC tornado ddt's Lance. Vance double shoulders the GoA off the buckles then blue thunders Toa. Vance spinebusters Kaun then cutters Kaun for 2. Dustin jumps off of Vance's back and lariats Toa. Cage f-5's Dustin then Adam hits an impaler ddt on Cage. Kaun fireman's carry gutbusters Adam then OC superman punches Kaun. OC chokeslams Kaun then Lance black hole slams OC.

Toa samoan drops Lance. Lance and Cage start to fight then Cage lariats Lance over the top. Adam spears Cage then Dustin cannonballs Toa off the apron. Vance spinning lariats Kaun and wins it.

Look, this was as random as it gets. I don't even know that Vance is a face right now. His team was super random. I didn't like OC hitting freaking chokeslams on Kaun nor doing his usual goofing around. That ruined this one.

Bullet Club Gold are interviewed by Renee. They goof around. Jay says anything the Undisputed Kingdom can do, they can do better.  They talk about maybe getting trios gold. The Acclaimed come in. They say wouldn't it be better if they hooked up together and held all the gold. Max says the crowd was cheering for Bullet Club last week and said there's something here. Bowens says it should be called the "Bang Bang Scissor Gang" and says it's a superfaction. Jay says they aren't a faction but a gang and says they will think about it.

Samoa Joe gets in the ring to talk. Joe said they make changes to the championship challenging protocol. He said when you are the champ, you become a marked man. He said he even heard a man calling himself the devil was looking for him. Joe says no more whining in the ring or making comments on social media. He said you bring your record and rep and you bring to the championship committee and see if you're worthy. He says then you come into the ring and get your @ss stomped out. Joe says the new championship era is here and says for all the people wanting him, your champion will be here waiting.

The Mogul Embassy comes out. Swerve said it's his first time here at Daily's Place and says it's Swerve's House. Swerve said it wasn't personal with Page, he just wanted his spot and took it. Swerve says it's not personal with Joe, he wants the title and will take it. Swerve says he'll be happy to make it a personal thing when he takes the title from him. Adam Page then comes out.

Page says if we are out here calling our shots, 2023 meant a lot for him. He said he beat Mox, reunited with The Elite and found Swerve. He tells Swerve he will make the AEW title his in 2024. Swerve leaves and Page gets in his face. He said he didn't forget what Joe did to him and said he will take the title for it. Page leaves and Joe raises the title.

Hook then comes out with his name in a bat signal on part of the arena. Hook and Joe go face to face. Hook points at the title  and says 1 week.

Well, I like that they are setting up some storylines in place. I thought it was funny that Joe said there would be no more grandstanding challenges then he basically just got a bunch of those.

Renee interview Toni Storm, Luther and Mariah May. May asks if Toni saw the match. She didn't and asked if she did an armdrag. Toni brings up Wendi Richter when Renee wants to talk about AEW's newest signee. Renee brings up Deonna Purrazzo and Toni asks Luther to set up a meeting. May does the "watch for the shoe" line then Toni said that was her line and she ruined the moment.

Sammy Guevara vs Ricky Starks

 

I don't know if it's on purpose, but Sammy is wearing Buzz Lightyear colors. Sammy gets some fire for his entrance.

They lock up and Starks wristlocks him. Sammy backflips out of it then Ricky shoulders him over. Stakrs hits corner forearms. Sammy backflips over him then dropkicks him out. Sammy does Ricky's pose then trips Ricky to the outside. Sammy baseball slides him then top rope moonsaults him outside.

Sammy hits chops and they fight on the apron. Ricky hits an angel's wings on the apron and we go to PiP break. We return and  and Sammy is hitting forearms. Sammy step up enzugiri's him then superkicks a seated Starks. Sammy gets stuck on the buckles and takes punches to the side of the head. Sammy top rope moonsaults but Starks gets his feet up.

Starks lariats him then sitout powerbombs him. Sammy avoids a spear and Starks goes into the middle buckle. Starks blocks a GTH and rolls him up. Sammy superkicks him twice and cradles him for the win.

I was really surprised to see Starks lose this one here. Don't get me wrong, it was indy but they didn't overdo it too much for a change and they kept it moving.

They shake hands after then Big Bill jumps Sammy from behind. Chris Jericho comes out with a bat and totally misses a codebreaker on BIll that is sold anyway. Jericho springboard dropkicks him. Bth teams fight in the crowd. They had Jericho's music turned on during all of this likely to drown out any booing.

Saraya, Ruby Soho, Julia Hart and Skye Blue vs Thunder Rosa, Kris Statlander, Willow Nightingale and Anna Jay

Anna and Ruby start us off. Rub slaps her and gets forearmed. Anna spinning heel kicks her in the corner. Kris slams Ruby then sliding lariats her. Anna headhunters Ruby while she's seated then Willow splashes Ruby while she's seated. Rosa hits a basement dropkick.

Skye hits Rosa from behind then hits corner stomps. Saraya boots Rosa in the corner. Rosa back elbows Ruby then dropkicks her while she is kneeling. Willow corner hip attacks Ruby then lariats her there. Harley pushes Willow off the 2nd rope and Willow hits her neck off the top buckle hard.

We go to PiP break and return. Willo cartwheels out of a double lariat then double lariats Hart and Skye. Kris high kicks Saraya  then jumping knees her. Kris spinning ki krushers her for 2. We get an 8 person suplex spot. Saraya forearms Kris then Willow pounces Skye. Hart lariats Willow from behind then Anna flatliners Hart. Ruby sto's Anna then Rosa shotgun dropkicks her. Saraya superkicks Rosa. Kris chaos theory germans Saraya.

Anna and Hart hit each other then Anna puts her in a choke. Anna side kicks Hart and is superkicked by Skye. Anna grounded chokes Skye and taps her out to win it.

It wasn't much. They didn't have a lot of time for anyone and everyone got their section in until they went to the finishing stretch here. I didn't like Skye doing the job here. 

Wheeler Yuta says he's no one's young boy and says he won't tolerate the disrespect. He talked about sending Shibata packing and said he wants him on Rampage. He then calls him a little b!tch.

Roderick Strong vs Bryan Keith

Strong wristlocks him then shoulders him over. Keith face kicks him. Keith hits chops and forearms on the ropes. Keith face kicks him and they fight on the apron. Strong backdrops him on the apron. Strong hits shots outside and corner stomps him. Keith hits a forearm combo then Strong hits an olympic slam.

Strong is knocked off the 2nd rope then Keith hits a diamond dust. Keith takes a jumping knee then Strong suplexes him into a backbreaker for the win.

I don't know why we needed to see this or why it needed to go as long as it did when the outcome was obvious. Keith had a decent showing like usual and it was okay. 

The Undisputed Kingdom do a promo after. Cole said he meant it when he said this place would change. He said they are not worried about earning the fans respect. Cole says Strong is a 20 year vet and The Kingdom are current ROH champs. He said they never got the respect they deserved. He said now that Wardlow is surrounded by people who respect him, "we" will win the AEW title. Cole says say hello to your new kingdom and says they will be here for a longtime.

Despite both of them being here, neither Jay White or Page felt like coming out to get even with Cole (or Joe for that matter).

Deonna Purrazzo is interviewed by Renee. She said she has set her sights on Toni Storm. She said if she wants to pretend she doesn't know who she is, she will have her people send her people a screener. She said she debuts on Collision. Red Velvet comes in and said she will make her Collision debut as well. Red does her stirring motion and says they can stir it up and Deonna asks if that's her stirrer.

I don't like Deonna debuting on Collision instead of Dynamite since it's the smaller show. I thought they should have introduced her more here for people who don't know her.

Texas Tornado Match - Sting and Darby Allin vs Konosuke Takeshita and Powerhouse Hobbs

 

All 4 men fight. Sting sends Hobbs out and goes after him. Darby is set over the top down to the floor. Sting chairs Hobbs then chases Hobbs into the seats. KT forearms Darby in the crowd. Hobbs bangs Sting's head off a box then Sting does it to him. Hobbs is put on the box on wheels and Sting pushes it into trash cans.

KT chokes Darby then Darby dropkicks him off the apron. Darby top rope coffin drops KT but KT catches him and chaos theory germans him on the floor in a nasty spot. We go to PiP break and return.

Darby is flipped into a Hobbs powerslam. Darby is swung by the arms and legs then corkscrews, landing his neck on the bottom rope. Sting fights his opponents 2v1. He splashes Hobbs then KT flying knees him. Ric Flair, who is at ringside, gets in. He hits chops on Hobbs, begs off and eye pokes him. Sting hits punches on KT then KT is lariated to the floor. Darby topes KT into the wall.

Sting spinebusters Hobbs and all 4 get on the stage. Sting is whipped into a pole and Darby is sent back first into rails. Darby gets in the stands and coffin drops KT off of the stands. Hobbs carries Sting on his shoulder. Sting reverse ddt's Hobbs off the stage through two tables. Sting picks up the win.

It was a decent main. Darby took some career ending looking bumps as usual and Sting's bump at the end was really wild here.

Tony Schiavone interviews Sting, Darby and Ric Flair after. Tony asks who Sting's opponent will be in his final match.  The Young Bucks then come out. The Bucks have mustaches and stare them down from the stage. I don't like The Bucks as Sting's opponents in his final match. They are currently faces, unless them growing mustaches means they are now heels. They have no history with Sting and Sting's obviously not going to be able to do a lot of their moves. I think the Bucks booked themselves to be in this.

Overall thoughts: I would say it was above average. The main was good which helped. Strong/Keith was fine. Sammy/Starks was watchable. Page/CC did too much though the idea was good and I didn't like the 8-man.
