AAA Lucha Libre on Space TV 9/23/2023

We get some clips of the luchadores at an event with kids then we get clips from an indy show. 

QT Marshall and Harley Cameron do a promo. They are at  party that they said they spent half a million on. They talk about Pentagon Jr. QT says he hates Penta and said he proved he has no backbone, costing him his title. QT said everything he did to him before is nothing compared to what is about to happen. He said he will always be where Penta is and he better watch his back.

Shere Khan vs Mini Psycho Clown vs Extasis vs Rey Espectro

Shere is in the Tiger Mask mask and Extasis is in the brown and gold.

Ex hits a pumping knee on Rey then ex handsprings off the ropes. Ex catches Clown and rolling death valley drivers him. Ex gets crotched on the top. Shere slingshots in and rolls over clown's back. He then fights his other opponents outside and Clown topes Shere and Ex outside. Someone hits a tornillo but the camera's miss every second of it.

Ex takes a double spinebuster then a double elbow drop. Shere is flipped over by Clown using the ropes and Rey uses the bottom rope ot vader bomb Shere. Clown and Rey lariat each other on accident. Shere backflips out of a lariat then headbutts off of it. Ex does a handsrping into a cutter but mises most of the cutter. Shere and Ex double reverse attitude adjustment Rey. Clown springboards and is kind of caught in a cutter then Rey is belly to belly suplexed into the buckles. Ex 450's into a cutter on Rey for 2.

Clown forearms and double underhook backbreakers Ex. Clown spinning lariats Ex. Shere spinning headscissors Clown from the mat. Clown flips off the buckles and takes a backbreaker then Shere does a bad flying neckbreaker. Rey springboard blind tornillo's Shere. Rey then top rope corkscrews into a crucifix bomb on Rey. Ex then jumps off Rey's back for a poisonrana on Clown.

Ex face kicks CLown then Clown face kicks him back. Clown is pulled over the top then Ex tope con hilos him through the ropes. Shere botches a headscissors on the ropes then Shere does some kind of springboard corkscrew canadian destroyer on him to win it.

It was a 100MPH spotfest here. There were some cool moves here but many of them were not hit clean, so it wasn't that impressive.

Octagon Jr. and Los Cachanillas do promos.

Los Canchanillas (Dinámico, Kamik-C and Skalibur) vs Drago Kid, Mini Vikingo and Dulce Canela

Dinamico, Skalibur and Kamik-C

Skalibur is in the grey mask with the black tights and red knee pads. Kamik has the tassles on his blue and black mask and Dinamico has no mask.

Dule and Dinamico start us off. Dinamico headlock takeovers him and they legsweep each other. Dinamico takes an armdrag and is rolled up. Everyone gets in and Vik is handed people's legs so they can take neckbreakers.

Vik is tied up in a flag then is thrown by 3 people outside. Drago and Vik get in gainst dinamico. Vik spinning headscissors Dinamico. Dinamico hits a nasty powerbomb on Vik then Dragon armdrags Dinamico. Drago messes up a springboard armdrag spot then satelitte headscissors Dinamico out. Skal springboard lariats Drago then Vik kind of spears him in mid-air.

Vik does a whole bunch of flips then poses. Vik 2nd rope tornillos Skal then does a wild corkscrew bodyscissors off the 2nd rope onto him. Kamik slingblades Vik then lands on his knees off the top. Dulce tornillo armdrags Kamik, face kicks him and kisses him. Dulce kisses Skal as well then trips Skal into Kamik. Dulce does a neat dropkick + senton combo then reverse figure fours Skal.

Dulce kisses Dinamico and throws him out. Dulce then takes an alley oop outside on the apron. The faces are lifted for suplexes, then put on each heel's shoulders and neckbreakered. Vik goes to springboard, the heels yank the ropes up on him and he ends up taking a nasty Dinamico powerbomb.

Kid springboards into a hurricanrana on Dinamico. He then double green mists Skaal and Kamik. Drago then does a corkscrew moonsault outside while Dulce tope tornillos outside. Vik is popped up and flips into a hurricanrana off of it. Vik then takes a running electric chair driver. Dinamico pins him.

Look, I'm no newbie to lucha. I've been watching it somewhat for over 20 years now. This was one of the wildest and fastest spotfests I've ever seen. This was nothing but wild and crazy moves at 100MPH. I wouldn't say it was good or smart, but if you want all kinds of wild flips and random cool looking moves, you'll love this.  I really hope Tony Khan doesn't see this one, because these dudes would be on Dynamite this week if he did.

Vikingo is buried under the Mexican flag after by the heels.

Dalys vs Krissta vs Chik Tormenta vs Lolita

I have 0 expectations for this. In the US wrestling, the men are heavy and the girls are light. In lucha, the girls are heavy and the guys are light. Tor and Dalys go at it with Dalys rolling her up. Tormenta rolls and trips her, then  is put in an armbar. They roll around and go face to face. Dalys kicks her in the back. Lolita kicks Dalys in the mouth then Krissta headscissors Lolita. Lolita and Dalys trade slaps outside and Dalys headbutts her.

Tor and Kris go at it. Kris flips over her back then rolls her up. Kris jumps off the top with a headscissors then Tor hits a hard lariat. Tor slaps Kris around then Kris backcrackers her. Tor catches Kris' lariat then swinging powerbombs her and hits a styles clash. Krissta is eliminated.

Dalys hits a nice dropkick on Lolita. Lolita flips off the 2nd rope and armdrags her. Lolita shotgun dropkicks her. Tor step up enzugiri's Lolita then Dalys 2nd rope dropkicks Tor. Dalys dropkicks Tor on the ropes then Lolita 2nd rope moonsaults Tor. Lolita running corner lariats Dalys then codebreakers her fwhile she sits on the 2nd rope.

Dalys sitout powerbombs Lolita off the 2nd rope and pins her. Tor and Dalys are the last two left. They trade chest and face slaps. Dalys flying hurricanrana's her then kicks her in the crotch. Tor 2nd rope dropkicks her then hits mounted forearms.

Tor germans Dalys then Dalys headbutts her. Dalys dropkicks her while she's between the ropes then bridging ddt's her over the 2nd rope. Tor hits Dalys with a cookie sheet then meteora's her for 2. They slap each other. Dalys sitout gorbusters her then lariats and dropkicks the heel ref. Dalys hits Tor with a cookie sheet and the ref disqualifies Dalys.

The finish was totally stupid here. The heel ref allowed Tormenta to cheat and then DQ'd Dalys for it. While that makes sense, why would any promotion allow this? It was slower lucha. I didn't really hate it though as you had time to breathe and could follow it easier than the other matches.

Lumberjack Match - Kento and Takuma vs Mr. Iguana and Nino Hamburguesa

Takuma and Iguana start us off. They trade forearms then shoulder each other. Takuma kips up after taking one. Takuma handsprings off the ropes and flying hurricanrana's him. Takuma hits forearms in the corner. There's a stupid spot where Iguana is getting beaten up inches away from Nino and Nino ignores it. Iguana hits Takuma with his toy then flips off the ropes and suplexes him. Kento and Nino get in during a pin attempt. They trade forearms for chops. Nino is pulled out and Kento tope con hilos him.

Iguana is lawn darted into the top buckle by Takuma. Takuma then springboard corkscrew moonsaults outside. The lumberjacks start hitting the wrestlers outside. Kento stomps Iguana's toy then Takuma sentons it. Iguana hangs off the 2nd rope for no real reason and Kento top rope legdrops him. Takuma then top rope ssp's him. Kento hits corner punches on Nino then Takuma and Kento dropkicks Nino in the corner. The two are pushed off the 2nd rope while posing then hit by lumberjacks.

Iguana is double hiptossed into the ropes then Nino double lariats and double splashes 2 of the lumberjacks. Iguana does a Toyota roll into a crucifix bomb on Takuma. Nino cannonballs both opponents in the corner. The ref ends up getting hit by lumberjacks and Iguana top rope dives all of them.

Kento dropkicks Nino then Nino is double suplexed. Kento top rope moonsaults Nino and Takumra 630's Nino to win it.

It was pretty wild with a lot going on. The Japanese guys did their flips here, we had lumberjacks and the ref got beaten up for some reason. It didn't make a lot of sense but there were some cool dives at least.

We then get a big brawl after and Konnan comes out. Vikingo comes out, says he can't wrestle and they set up a 4 way for his vacant cruiserweight title tonight.

#1 Contenders to the AAA Latin American Title - Octagn Jr vs Drago vs Bestia 666

Drago goes up and over Oct then does a cartwheel into a corkscrew flip. Drago flips over Oct, dropkicks him then springbord reverse topes him outside. Oct goes for a top rope moonsault and takes a double boot. Oct asai moonsaults and gets double boots from Bestia. Bestia neckbreakers Drago and puts his legs up on Oct's head to headscissor him over too.

Bestia muscle busters Oct and Drago satelitte ddt's Bestia. Oct puts both opponents on his shoulders then samoan drops both. Oct then 450's both opponents off the top. Bestia ki krushers Oct then rago os cutters Bestia. Oct poisonrana's Drago. Oct germans Drago then double springboard hurricanrana's Bestia of the apron. Oct top rope crossbodies Drago. Drago superkicks him. Drago step up enzugiri's him then takes a lariat for 2.

Drago standing spanish flies Oct then Drago is belly to belly suplexed into the buckles. Oct then wins it with a top rope fallaway slam.

It was a total indy spotfest with no selling and many big moves. 

Negro Casas and Pagano talk in the ring. They end up getting jumped by Nicho el Millionario, Texano and Argenis. Dralistico ends up making the save and sets up the next match.

Nicho el Millonario and Argenis vs Negro Casas and Dralistico

Negro gets a chair thrown at him by Nicho as he enters. Arg hits Dral outside then Nicho throws another chair at Negro. Arg slams Dral on the stage and crotches him on the rail. Arg chairs Negro then Nicho headbutts a bleeding Negro. Nicho throws another chair at Negro's head then Negro throws Nicho off the top onto a chair. Dral 2nd rope hurricanrana's Arg then pulls his mask off, though I think he had lost it anyway and was just wearing it.

Dral sends Arg over the rails and into the seats. The action sops then Arg slaps Dral. Dral chops him then latr hits a springboard hurricanrana. Dral tope con hilos him. Nicho and Negro trade chops. Arg dropkicks Negro and Dral taps out Arg with la mistica.

It wasn't any good. It was slow paced and people in it often stood around and did nothing.

AAA Cruiserweight Title - Komander vs La Estrella vs Kuukai vs Mecha Wolf

 

All of the seconds are kicked out of this one. Kom takes a 3v1 to start. Wolf takes shots from Kuu and Estrella then is dropkicked by both. Estrella rolls up Kuu. Estrella goes up and over him in the corner. Estrella tries to cartwheel and handstand out of a dropkick but is knocked over.

Wolf legdrops Kuu on the back of his neck then Kom puts Wolf in an octopus. Estrella is irish whipped and topes Kom outside. Estrella top rope crossbodies Kuu then backrolls into a ddt on him. Wolf chops Estrella then comes off the bottom rope and spears Estrella. Wolf then topes Kom outside. Kuu top tornillo's Wolf outside. Estrella corkscrew moonsaults his opponents off the top to the floor.

Estrella takes a blue thunder bomb from Kuu inside. Wolf and Kuu trade shots. Kuu knees him then superkicks him. Wolf pop-up powerbombs him then throws him into a kick in the back of the head. Wolf pins Kuu and eliminates him. Kom spins into a headscissors on Wolf then Estrella dropkicks him. Kom superkicks Estrella.

Kom step up springboard swantons outside onto Wolf. Estrella springboard reverse topes Kom then sliding germans him. Estrella top rope splashes him for 2. Wolf 2nd rope exploders Estrella then Kom springboard canadian destroyers Wolf. Kom torture rack gutbusters Estrella and eliminates him with a pin.

Kom and Wolf trade forearms then chops. Wolf knees him then bites his head. Kom walks the top rope and legdrops him while Wolf is on it. Back in and Wolf ddt's him off the 2nd rope. Wolf flying knees him for 2 then top rope 450's him for 2. Wolf stands on the 2nd rope and is superkicked down then Kom phoenix splashes him for 2.

Kom misses a spear in the corner then they fight on the ropes. Kom top rope hurricanrana's him for 2. Kom springboard poisonrana's him then rope walk ssp's him to win it.

It was a spotfest as expected with little selling, logic or storytelling. They did way too much here.

Ambulance Match - Texano Jr. vs Pagano

 Pag hits a running forearm and flying euro to start. Pag rips up Tex's hat and throws it on him. Pag then sentons him. Pag takes a wild jerry bump to the outside then Tex tope con hilos him, sending both through a board. Tex pushes Pag's head into a barbed wire chair then hits him with a chair. Tex pounds on Pag's head then hits him with a trash can lid. Pag is thrown into the steps then his hand is hit with a cookie sheet on the steps. Nicho el Millonario takes some cheap shots at Pag.

Tex headbutts pag on the 2nd rope and Pag pushes him down on a barbed wire chair. Pag 2nd rope elbow drops him and spears him through a board. Tex takes a trash can lid to the head then Nicho takes one too. Tex is put on a rail outside then Pag 2nd rope elbow drops him as he hangs. Pag hits punches then Tex hits forearms.

Pag rolls up Tex into a grounded choke. Pag bangs Tex's head off of his knee then lariats him in the back of the head after. Tex hits Pag with a cookie sheet then slingshot swantons him. Pag botches a 2nd rope chair codebreaker on Tex.

Tex hits Pag with a kendo stick. Tacks are put in the ring. Tex jumping leg lariats Pag onto the tacks. Pag piledrivers Tex over the 2nd rope somewhat onto a chair. A table is set on fire and Pag is thrown through it. They fight in the crowd and in the arena hallway. Tex is sent into a wall then hit with a trash can. They head towards the ambulance outside. Tex's head is banged off of it then Pag hits him with the door.

Pag tries to close the door on him but can't. He then is hit with a light tube. Pag tries to spear him into the ambulance but ends up diving in it and hitting light tubes. He is then locked in it and Texano wins it.

It was your standard lucha brawl for the most part. It was not that great with a lot of time spent on setting up various spots. Them fighting outside to get to the ambulance was a little different than what we are used to. But it covered for Pagano going through a flaming table not being the finish.

Tex then drives the ambulance for about 5 feet, pulls Pag out and hits him with a tube in a weird moment.

Overall thoughts: It was your usual trainwreck of an AAA show. Everything was basically under hardcore rules. There was interference up and down the card and everything was basically a spotfest. It was cool to see the Japanese guys of Takuma, Kento and Estrella pop-in though. I wouldn't recommend this one.
