Dragon Gate 1/10/2024 Open The New Year Gate 2024 Day 4
Kagetora & Ryoya Tanaka vs. Hyo & Luis Mante
Kage = Kagetora, RT = Ryoya Tanaka
Kage and Hyo start us off. Kage wristlocks him then side headlocks him. Hyo double chops him then both tag out. RT flying headscissors and dropkicks Luis. RT kicks Hyo in the gut. Hyo takes a double back elbow into an RT standing moonsault. Hyo sidesteps a dropkick then Luis stomps RT. Luis soul foot's RT then hammerlocks him.
Hyo slams and sentons RT. Hyo russian legsweeps him into a grounded abdominal stretch. RT's head is banged off of Luis' foot. Luis chops him then RT runs up the buckles and corkscrew crossbodies him. RT dropkicks him. Kage get in and slingshot dropkicks Hyo. Kage slaps Hyo then Luis no sells his flying lariat. Luis is sent over the top and RT rope con hilos him.
Hyo flying leg lariats Kage then Kage hits like an overhand punch in him as he hangs from the top. Kage hits an ikkitousen for 2. Kage bridge pins him for 2 then Luis springboard double dropkicks both opponents. Luis pulls RT up from the mat and takes a hurricanrana. RT cradles him for 2 and hits a chop flurry. Luis tilt-a-whirl backbreaker and gutbreakers him. Luis then lariats him.
Luis baseball slides RT outside. Hyo goes up and over RT in the corner then flatliners him. Hyo 2nd rope diving cutters him for the win.
It was an okay opener, nothing too special or anything. Hyo really looks and wrestlers like a different wrestler these days than he used to.
Hyo challenges Kagetora after. Kage said he doesn't know if he's the right challenger or not but accepts the challenge.
Natural Vibes (BIG BOSS Shimizu & Jacky Funky Kamei) vs. M3K (Susumu Mochizuki & Yasushi Kanda)
Strong Machine J breakdances then Vibes does their group dance. M3K come out on scooters. Kanda boots Jacky then Jacky flying headscissors and dropkicks him. Kanda takes a double back elbow and a double elbow drop. Jacky and Kanda trade chops then Kanda reverses a flying headscissors into a side slam. Kanda stomps Jacky then bangs his head off the buckles.
Kanda slingshot elbow drops Jacky then foot slaps him. They trade chest slaps then Kanda flying forearms him. Jacky takes a two person double underhook suplex. Jacky hits chops on both opponents then does a flying kick + armdrag off a hiptoss.
BBS comes in and hits a double samoan drop on both opponents. BBS corner lariats Susumu then holds Jacky for a boot combo in the corner. BBC and Jacky then splash Susumu together. Jacky takes an atomic drop into a john woo. Susumu hits a jumbo no kachi lariat on Jacky. BBS tries to help out but splashes his own partner.
Jacky gets a 2 count on Kanda and avoids a john woo from Kanda. Jacky picks up the win.
It was a short match with Jacky mostly taking a beating before the upset win. Nothing too much to speak of here with this one.
Luis Monte and Hyo talk to Jacky after then Shun Skywalker comes out. Shun invites Jacky to watch him from ringside on tomorrows show.
Punch Tominaga & Ultimo Dragon vs. Gianni Valletta & KAI
This was a short squash.
Gianni beats up Punch after. Ultimo makes the save then fights with Kai. Susumu and Kanda then hold Kai and Ultimo kicks him and hits an asai ddt.
BxB Hulk, Dragon Kid, Kzy, Naruki Doi & YAMATO vs. D'courage (Dragon Dia & Madoka Kikuta) & GOLD CLASS (Ben-K & Kota Minoura) & Strong Machine J
Ben and Yamato start us off. Yamato gets his back and facelocks him. Yamato shoulders him over then takes a double shoulder from Ben and Kota. Hulk spin kicks Ben then 2nd rope dropkicks him. Kzy and J go at it. J slams him down and misses a senton. Kzy flipping sentons to nothing, hits an uppercut and takes a flying back elbow. Kid 2nd rope hurricanrana's J but is caught and basement dropkicked by Dia.
Kid takes some kicks from Kikuta and Dia. Kid takes corner attacks then Dia takes corner attacks. Dia spinning hadscissors Kzy but is caught and slammed face first. Doi flipping sentons Dia for 2. Doi boots Dia then Yamato chops and back elbows Dia. Kid does a handstand knee on Dia and Dia takes a 4v1.
Hulk hits kicks on Dia then does a standing corkscrew moonsault. Dia armdrags him then single leg dropskicks him. Kota flying lariats Kid then exploders Kzy. Ben double spears Doi and Yamato. Doi face kicks J then Doi dropkicks him in the knee.
J corner dropkicks Kid then powerlams Doi. Ben backdrops Kid then Dia standing ssp's Kid. Kikuta legdrops Kid for 2. Kikuta hip attacks Yamato then takes a single leg dropkick. Kikuta takes a hip attack then is uranage'd on Kzy's knees. Kikuta takes a high/low. Kikuta gets his knees up on a Kzy top rope splash. Kzy takes a senton, a double arm suplex and a big Ben lariat for 2.
Doi hits doi fives on Ben then takes a spear. J spin kicks Hulk then Kid 619's J. Kikuta hip attacks Kid and Yamato. Kikuta hip attacks off the apron then Dia tope con hilos outside. Kota and Yamato trade forearms. Yamato pump kicks him then takes a flying knee for 2. Yamato hurricanrana's Kota and Kota rolls through it. Yamato lariats Kota then hits triple enzugiri's. Yamato brainbusters him for 2. Yamato hits a gallaria and wins it.
It was a fast paced and fun tag. Lots of people coming in and out at all times here. It wasn't the best they could have done and they didn't do some of their bigger offense, but it was still fun.
Yamato does a promo after. He said he's not ready to pass the torch to the new generation yet and said today's result is proof of that. He tries to offer Kota a handshake after and Kota slaps his hand.
Aagan Iisou (Shuji Kondo, Takuya Sugawara & Toru Owashi) vs. Z-Brats (ISHIN, Shun Skywalker & Yoshiki Kato)
Aagan is thrown out to start. Shun gets on the mic and trash talks them then everyone fights outside. 4 of them fight in the stands. Shun eye rakes Toru then Ishin chokes Shuji with his shirt. Shuji is thrown out and Ishin foot chokes Takuya. Kato slams Takuya.
Shun chokes Takuya with his knee. Takuya fights back with forearms and Shun eye rakes him. Takuya is thrown into the exposed buckle then takes a double boot and double chop. Kato drives Takuya's head into the mat. Kato and Takuya trade forearms. Kato eye rakes him then takes a step up enzugiri.
Toru hits face kicks then does a headlock + headscissors takeover combo. Toru and Shun trade chops. Toru face kicks him then Ishin hits Toru and Takuya with a box lid. Shun tiger drivers Takuya. Shun pump kicks Kondo then Kato splashes Kondo. Kondo hits mounted punches on Kato then does a lariat + bulldog combo on 2 opponents.
Takuya buckingham drops Ishin then Kondo lariats Ishin for 2. The ref is pulled out then Bakery Yagi comes down as the 2nd ref. Yagi takes a chair away then watches Toru use it on Kato. Toru pushes Yagi over and is disqualified.
Shun then uses a chair on people. Kondo and Toru hold up Ishin after and Yagi kicks him.
It was a very basic brawl with nothing but punches and other simple strikes for the most part. It was boring. I'm not sure how the ref getting pulled out doesn't warrant a DQ but the ref getting pushed over does. Seems like the same thing to me. Obviously, the finish sucked.
Shingo Takagi vs. Masaaki Mochizuki
They go to the mat and MM kicks the leg. MM offers a handshake and pulls his hand away, then they shake hands. Shingo tries to hit him but misses. They trade chops for leg kicks then Shingo takes a kick to the back on the apron. MM then topes him and Punch outside. MM is sent into the post. Shingo misses a lariat on him and lariats the post.
MM hits kicks to the body, tells Shingo to chop him then takes him down by the arm. Shingo back elbows > punches > lariats him and MM goes out. Shingo suplexes him on the floor then throws Punch on him outside. Shingo hits elbow drops and a senton.
MM back body drops him then Shingo dragon screws him. Shingo STF's him then MM triangle enzugiri's him on the apron. MM moonsaults him off the apron then axe kicks him in the corner. Shingo lariats him in the corner then MM face kicks him in the corner. They blow a spot and MM kicks him in tree of woe in the corner.
MM flips out of a german then PK's him. MM twisting brainbusters him. MM hits a kick then is lariated. Shingo misses a torture rack bomb, is kicked in the head then lariats MM. Shingo gets put on the top rope and is kicked. MM superplexes him and high kicks him. MM buzzsaw kicks him then is lariated. Shingo corner lariats him then superplexes him.
MM no sells the superplex. They lariat each other at the same time. MM shotei's him then triangle kicks him. Shingo then lariats him. MM counters a lariat with a crucifix then takes a made in Japan for 2. Shingo running lariats him then hits forearms. MM headbutts him then takes a headbutt and a sliding d. Shingo running lariats him for 2. Shingo powerbombs him and wins it.
There was a lot of no selling in the 2nd half of this but the two matched up well. Mochizuki went all out here doing moves he usually doesn't do here and really tried to put a good one on. It was an okay and maybe even a good main but not great.
Shingo gets on the mic after and hints at a match with Mochizuki Jr. for next time. Mochizuki said wrestling is still fun at his age and said he is proud of Shingo. Mochizuki said they only shook hands once then they shook hands after.
