All Japan Pro Wrestling 11/5/2023 Giant Series 2023 ~ Hokkaido Edition Day 6 (Evening Show)

Takao Omori & Yoshitatsu vs. Hikaru Sato & Sidney Shota Stevens

Yoshi and Sato go at it to start. They trade chops and forearms. Omori headlocks Sid and they trade chest slaps and shoulder blocks. Sid knocks him over then takes a backdrop. Yoshi hits corner chest kicks on Sid then kicks him in the back. Sid and Omori trade shots and Omori back elbows him. Omori elbow drops him for 2. Omori chinlocks him.

Yoshi stomps Sid then hiptosses him. Yoshi single leg crabs him. Sid hits a boot in the corner then shoulders him over. Sato chest kicks Yoshi then enzugiri's him. Sato water wheel drops Yoshi for 2 and Yoshi knees Sato. Sato enzugiri's Omori then Sid corner splashes Omori. Sid splashes Omori for 2. Sid does a samoan drop style move to Omori.

Omori and Sid lariat each other at the same time then Omori full-nelson bombs him. Omori hits an axe bomber and wins it.

This was not good and not my idea of an opener. It was slow with no real highlights, featuring 2 of AJPW's worst workers in Yoshi and Sato. Sid has a terrible look and just stuck to very basic stuff here.

Kumagoro Hokkai & Noriyuki Yoshida vs. Black Menso-re & Tomoya

Tomoya and Hokkai shoulder battle. Hokkai bites him on the shoulder. Yoshida and Menso trade chops. Menso and Tomoya walk the top rope at the same time. Tomoya hits an attack off of it and Menso gets crotched. Hokkai splashes his partner on accident then elbow drops him on accident.

Tomoya hits forearms on Hokkai then takes a body block. Yoshida hiptosses Menso then grabs Hokkai's fish toy. He misses a shot with it then Menso hits his own partner with it on accident. Hokkai lariats both.

Menso rolls up Yoshida then is hit with the fish by Hokkai. Yoshida enzugiri's Menso and wins it.

It was comedy garbage with a fish toy being used and Hokkai slamming his own partner for no reason.

Hokuto Omori & Minoru Suzuki vs. Ryo Inoue & Suwama

Ryo and Omori start us off. They trade forearms and Ryo hiptosses him. Ryo kicks him in the back. Suwama gets in and also kicks Omori in the back. Suwama hits nice short arm lariats then crabs him. Suwama throws Suzuki out.

Ryo triangle enzugiri's Suzuki then Suzuki sleepers him and gotch style piledrivers him. Suzuki then wins it.

They had 7 minutes for this and really didn't try at all. There wasn't enough time and it's a shame that a guy in a bear costume got more time than Minoru Suzuki did.

Ren Ayabe & Shuji Ishikawa vs. Voodoo Murders (Jun Saito & Rei Saito)

The Saito's jump the faces as they enter. Rei throws something at Shuji outside then headbutts him. Rei whips him with his jacket then is hit with a sign with Rei's face on it. Shuji throws Rei into the post then Shuji hits Rei with his sign. Rei headbutts Shuji and boots him.

It was only 5 minutes long and half of it was spent goofing around outside. The crowd really popped for Ren winning here and it was treated as a big upset. I didn't think much of it.

Dan Tamura, Jonathan Gresham & Rising HAYATO vs. Atsuki Aoyagi, El Lindaman & Fuminori Abe

Linda and Dan start us off. Dan takes him down then wristlocks him. Linda ropebreaks then 2nd rope dropkicks him. Abe and Rising get in. Abe wristlocks him and Rising flips out of it and chops him. Rising flying headscissors him then teases diving out. Rising shotgun dropkicks Abe in the corner then JG straightjacket chokes Abe.

AA jumps off of Linda's back and dropkicks Abe on the apron. Rising running back elbows Linda then gets stuck on the 2nd rope for a Linda neckbreaker.

Abe spin kicks Rising then kicks him in the back. Rising avoids a double team and Abe slaps Linda on accident. Abe nearly slaps AA when Rising ducksthen AA superkicks Abe when Rising ducks. JG enzugiri's Abe then Dan samoan drops him. Rising asai moonsaults Abe.

JG hits a 2nd rope moonsault on Linda and AA then topes Abe outside. Dan lariats Abe then Rising falcon arrows Abe for 2. Rising top rope moonsaults Abe and wins it.

It was a good little juniors tag. Gresham tried hard here. We didn't really see Linda's best and Abe didn't get a ton of time here. It could have used a few more minutes but it was the best thing on the show so far.

Kento Miyahara & T-Hawk vs. Ryuki Honda & Yuma Anzai

T and Yuma start us off. T chops him then takes a dropkick. Kento and Honda get in. Honda headlocks him, takes a face kick then shoulders him over. Honda chokes him over the 2nd rope with his knee but T breaks it up. T nails his own partner on accident and everyone fights outside. Kento takes a double shoulder on the inside thne Honda chokes him on the 2nd rope.

Kento trips Honda into the 2nd rope then sends him into the post outside. Honda is held in the corner for chops from T. T then chops Yuma off the apron and Kento headbutts Yuma outside. Honda hits forearms on T inside and takes chops. Honda spinebusters him. Yuma flying forearms T then belly to belly suplexes him.

Kento face kicks him then dropkicks him in the knee and head. Honda corner lariats Kento then Honda chokes him over the bottom rope with the ref struggling to break it. The ref yells at Honda and pushes him over.

Honda spears Kento for 2. Honda corner lariats him, takes a jumping knee and they trade forearms. Honda lariats him, Kento no sells it and running knees him. Yuma suplexes T, who no sells it and knees him in the head. Kento takes a jumping knee + lariat combo then Honda lariats him. Honda takes a sandwich knee for 2. Kento slow straightjacket germans Honda and wins it.

It was not that good. They didn't make the best use of their time and we really didn't get to the good stuf until the last few minutes. T found ways to no sell as usual and it was a lesser and rushed version of the usual AJPW main event tags.

KN superkicks him multiple times then Yuma spinning high kicks him. Yuma fisherman suplexes him for 2. KN drops him with a slap then brainbusters him for 2. KN northern lights bombs him and wins it.

The crowd, announcers and the aggression by the two was good. I thought Nakajima did too many superkicks here and they did a lot of rushing through things in the 2nd half. I didn't quite think it was a match of the year but there were some positives to it.

They then set up Nakajima and Kento after by having them talk to each other.

Overall thoughts: This was the 2nd show in one day for AJPW. The undercard was rushed as to not overdo it and I guess to make sure they had time for the main, so people didn't even try. The juniors tag and the main were the best things on this show, but I would not recommend this.
