IWA Puerto Rico Impacto Total 6/10/2023

Raúl Magnum and El Wizard are on commentary. 

We clips from last week of the Romeo/Mr.Big vs Savio Vega and John Hawking situation. We see Apollo talking about Romeo putting him in the cobra clutch. He said Romeo has made the biggest mistake of his life and has awoken the fury of the lion Apollo. He said he's on a mission to teach him a lesson. He said he will finish those pieces of garbage and show him who the legend is. They then set up Apollo vs Romeo for the next big show.

IWA Women's Title - Krystal vs Nahir Robles

Wizard calls Krystal a true champion. Krystal is pushed back on the lock up. Krystal slaps her then runs away from her. NR chases her then grabs her and Krystal rope breaks. Krystal slaps her again then runs for it again. Krystal hits her as she gets back in then hits mounted punches. Krystal chokes her then argues with the ref while kneeling on her throat.

Krystal misses a corner charge and NR rolls out, just to get clubbed again. They trade shots in the corner and Krystal eye rakes her. Krystal stomps her and Wizard talks about her experience and how she is dancing on NR's back.

Krystal bites her head then chinlocks/sleepers her. Krystal misses a corner charge and goes down. NR slaps her around and lariats her on the ropes. NR hits a lariat for 2. NR northern lights suplexes her for 2. Krystal blocks a lariat and takes her down then Krystal sentons her. Krystal running knees her and gets the win. Wizard is thrilled of course and congratulates her.

It was very basic stuff and it wasn't that good. Krystal was the better wrestler here. They didn't do anything wrong, but it just didn't look great. Krystal also barely hit the knee for her finisher.

Krystal lion tamers her after and Wizard loves it. Nathaly Perez makes the save and gets on the mic. Perez said she wants to fight her but not for the title tonight.

Harry William and Miguel Perez Jr. talk in the back. I think Harry says he wants the title and Perez takes a selfie with him holding it. Harry says he wants a shot. Perez asks what has he done to earn a shot. Harry said he heard Perez say titles are to be defended and wants him to live up to it. Perez agrees but asks when they will have it. Perez then says it can be at Summer attitude. Perez says let's see if he can beat the champ. He said he's tired of listening to him then gives him a book bag to hold because he's leaving.

IWA Tag Titles - The Faces of Destiny (Nick Mercer and Jay Blake vs The Drunken Express (Excellent Mantel and Pupe Jackson)

Wizard said it shows how values have declined that the people would support The Drunken Express.

Nick Mercer and Mantel go at it. Mantel crucifixes him for 2 and celebrates by dancing with Pupe. Nick and Pupe go at it. Pupe side headlocks him then walks up the ropes and armdrags him. Pupe spinning headscissors him then hits an armdrag. Nick takes an atomic drop + enzugiri then a double legdrop.

Mantel chops Nick and Mantel codebreakers him over the 2nd rope. Nick knees Mantel on the apron then Nick lariats Mantel. Jay eye pokes Mantel then sliding lariats him. Jay suplexes Mantel for 2. Mantel hits unches on Jay then takes a knee.

Jay stomps on Mantel in the corner then kicks him in the back. Jay chinlocks him then boots him in the corner. Jay comes off the 2nd rope and takes a cutter. Pupe and Nick are tagged in. Pupe does a cartwheel and shuffles. Pupe hits punches on Nick then 2nd rope twisting crossbodies him.  

Pupe hits a canadian destroyer then basement dropkicks him. Nick kicks out of the pin attempt, of course. Nick sitout powerbombs Pupe for 2. Jay is thrown over the top to the floor by Mantel then Nick takes a top rope elbow drop + side slam combo. Kiko holds Jay outside to stop him from breaking the pin up. Drunken Express argue with the ref and Nick low blows Mantel.

Kiko talks to the ref on the apron. Pupe takes a double superkick and a sandwich knee. Pupe is then pinned.

I didn't like the canadian destroyer kick out here and I didn't like Kiko cheating for his team. That's just bad face work.

Mike Mendoza goes up to Romeo Quevado in the back. He says he became champ without winning. They argue and Mike said he didn't earn the title. Mike says he stole the title from Niche and Hawking. Mike challenges him for the title and Romeo gets mad. 

Krystal vs Nathaly Perez

 

Krystal misses lariats then takes a spinning headscissors out. Krystal spears her from the apron. Perez goes up and over in the corner then is back body dropped to the apron. Perez slips and hits the floor hard.

Perez hits spears from the apron then armdrags her off the bottom rope. Krystal lariats her then bangs her head off the mat. Krystal steps on her hair and pulls then chokes her over the 2nd rope. Krystal boots her out of the corner then samoan drops her for 2.

Krystal stomps her then Perez hits forearms. Krystal spinning backdrops her for 2. They clothesline each other and go down. Perez lariats her then hits a ddt for 2. Perez hits corner punches then is powerbombed. Krystal grabs the title belt. Perez ducks a shot and rolls her up for a fast count win.

The ref didn't do a good count her and almost made Perez look like a cheater. Perez's bump to the floor looked like it sucked. The work was average but it wasn't bad.

The Faces of Destiny go up to Labrava Escobar in the back and grab her. Controversial Inc comes to her rescue and beats up The Faces of Destiny. Controversial Inc then hold the tag titles over them.

Manny Ferno vs Gran Amenaza

So, this is the second Gran Amenaza and they bill him as La Otra Amenaza (The Other Amenaza). Manny hits punches and throws him over the top. Gran hits kicks and punches then kicks the rope into his crotch. Manny takes him down and pounds on him. Gran stomps him and works the leg. Manny rolls him up for 2 then is clipped.

Manny's leg is banged off the apron. Gran chokes him in the corner then grabs a chair outside. Gran goes to pillmanize the leg with the chair but Manny puts the chair into Gran's nuts. Manny hits punches and lariats. Manny backdrops him then hits a ddt for 2. Manny misses a shot and is superkicked. Gran codebreakers him for 2.

Gran figure fours him and Manny ropebreaks. Gran tries to throw powder at Manny but misses and nails the ref instead. Manny goes for the pin but the ref Jordi el Nino is blinded. Manny misses a corner face kick and is hit in the knee. Manny's knee is banged off the post then he is figure four'd around the post. Gran chairs Manny's knee then figure fours him in the ring. Manny reverses it.

Gran takes a forearm and running face kick in the corner. Manny death valley drivers him and wins it.

I didn't think it was that great. Gran working Manny's knee made sense and all but Manny's comeback into the finish was sudden and I didn't think the ref getting blinded added much.

Pedro Portillo III gets on the tron after. He congratulates Manny. He said he will take this in his own hands. He challenges him for June 17 at Summer Attitude.

Wizard Analiza

Wizard complains about management making Krystal fight twice in the same day. He says Krystal is a true champ who doesn't walk away from a fight. Wizard said the fight should have taken place another day. He said Perez used various tricks to beat her and stole the win. He then takes us to a Krystal promo.

Krystal says she's the queen of IWA. She said she will defend the title against international opponents and no longer has to defend against people from here since she beat Roxxy and Perez. Miguel Perez Jr. then Roxxy walk in. Miguel says Roxxy is the #1 contender. Miguel said he was told he is in charge of the division and he wants her to defend against Roxxy at Summer Attitude. Labrava Escobar walks in. She said Roxxy got involved with her match with Krystal. Labrava and Roxxy argues. Miguel agrees and sets up a three way match between them. Nathaly Perez then walks in.

Nathaly said she wants an opportunity too. Perez then says they will do a four-way. Nahir Robles then jumps Krystal. Miguel throws a fit and says we will do a 5-way match to solve this. He then does his I don't give a ___ line and the girls argue to end the segment.

It was a funny segment that was just perfect for Miguel's character.

Harry WIlliam vs Niche el Fugitivo

Harry comes at him as he enters and is hit with a boom box. Niche sends him into the post then chairs him. Niche hits him with a kendo stick and Harry hits him with a drink. Harry headbutts him then takes a back body drop on the floor. Niche standing corkscrew moonsaults him on the floor.

Niche puts him in a chair in the stands and hits kicks and punches. Harry is thrown down the bleachers to the floor. They get in the ring and Harry hiptosses him into the buckles. Harry hits an olympic slam then uppercuts him. Harry hanging dragon sleepers him. then kicks him.

The commentators talk about how Niche came up from nothing. Harry hits machine gun chops. Niche asai moonsaults and reverse ddt's him off of it. They trade slaps and Niche flurries him with punches. Jordi pulls Niche off. Niche flying lariats him and back elbows him. Niche goes up and over in the corner then does an F-5 on his knees.

Jordi pulls Niche off again. Harry kicks Niche then release suplexes him. Harry sentons him for 2. They go up top and Niche hits a cutter off a suplex attempt. Niche spinning heel kicks him then top rope 450's him. Niche does another fireman's carry into an F-5 move and wins it.

This was a great brawl. It started from the beginning with Niche hitting Harry with a boom box. They fought in the stands then went back into the ring. It ended right when it should have and they showed a lot of hatred here. Some blood might have been nice, but they absolutely nailed this one and I loved it.

John Hawking and Niche talk in the locker room after. niche said he's frustrated with everything that has been happening to him. John asks him if he is thinking of quitting. Niche said he doesn't know. John asks him why. Niche said he wanted to talk to someone. Niche said what he has had to do is too much. John says the crowd loves him and it's next level. John said he didn't believe in himself either but he won because of the fans. He said now those fans believe in Niche and he believes in him too.  Niche said he has nothing left to do here.

Savio Vega comes in. He joins the conversation. Vega asks if he's depressed and asks why he feels like this. Bega said he has betrayed and been betrayed by everyone. Vega says it's difficult to be a fighter and said Niche had to break through concrete walls with steel plates to get here. Vega said quitting never crossed his mind. Vega tells him to get the f**k out of here and to get up from the hole in the road he fell down. Veg said he will never accept him quitting and Niche asks if there's something else he could do.

Vega said he has kept fighting and that's why he is here today. He said he shouldn't get frustrated over something stupid like losing. Vega said here is light at the end of the tunnel. Vega gives John a referee shirt. Vega tells Niche something in his ear and said he will win. John asks what they are talking about.  Vega tells him and John is thrilled and surprised. John asks what the ref shirt is for.

Vega said Romeo doesn't like him and stole his belt. Vega then says at Summer Attitude it will be Romeo Quevado vs Mike Mendoza for the IWA Title with John Hawking as the special ref. John says he will do his best. Vega said things are done his way in IWA Puerto Rico.

It was a nice segment but we never really found out what Vega said to change Niche's mind.

We get some clips and promos of the Manny Ferno and Pedro Portillo III feud to close the show.

Overall thoughts: Niche/Harry William was great and carried the show. We didn't get all of the details from the Vega/Niche/Hawking segment but that was a nice little soap opera style segment too. I also did like the segment that set up the 5-way for the women's title. The show had some room for improvement, but I did like it.
