Pure-J 6/26/2022
This is a rare Shin-Kiba 1st Ring show for Pure-J. They have a 7 team tournament here and Momo/Rina get a buy to the 2nd round.
Synchronous Love Tag Team Tournament First Round Match - Kaori Yoneyama & Leon vs. Hanako Nakamori & Hiroyo Matsumoto
Leon and Hana evade each others offense early then Hana takes a double team dropkick combo. Yone puts Hana in the camel clutch then Hana facekicks her. Yone is then put in the corner and splashed by Hiroyo. Yone is catapulted into a chest kick by Hiroyo then Hiroyo single leg crabs her.
Hana ties Yone up in the ropes and hits some kicks on her then Yone runs up the ropes, bounces off of it and armdrags both opponents. Leon uses the ropes to bulldog Hiroyo then tilt-a-whirl backbreakers Hana. Leon then top rope dropkicks Hiroyo for 2. Hiroyo and Leon trade forearms then Hiroyo does like a cobra clutch blade runner on her. Hiroyo then vader bomb style kneedrops Leon for 2.
Leon goes for a spear but Hana kicks her then Hana takes a double cutter. Yone top rope sentons Hana then Leon top rope frogsplashes Leon for 2. Hana high kicks Leon twice then gets speared. Yone northern lights suplexes Hana then Hana top rope superplexes Yone for 2. Hiroyo powerbombs Yone onto Leon then Hana step up enzugiri's Yone. Hana falcon arrows Yone but can't pin her. Hana gets pushed into Hiroyo then Yone rolls up Hana for the pin.
This was a fast paced sprint here. It was good and the 4 just matched up well, since 3 of them have been wrestling each other forever. I was hoping for the Hana/Hiroyo win and them losing in the first round was really quite the upset.
Synchronous Love Tag Team Tournament First Round Match - KAZUKI & Megumi Yabushita vs. Chie Ozora & Riko Kaiju
Riko and Chie do a dosey do early then hit stereo dropkicks. Chie walks the ropes and armdrags Kazuki, then dropkicks her. Chie then double reverse armbars Kaz through the ropes. Chie gets clotheslined with a belt and is choked out with it. Meguma then crabs Chie. Kaz armbars Chie and pulls her hair.
Chie dropkicks Kaz off the 2nd buckle. Riko gets in and fights off her opponents 1v2 then crossbodies both. Riko dropkicks Kaz. Megumi gets in and facekicks Riko and Riko tries a failed legsweep on her. Riko then top rope crossbodies Megumi and slams her. Chie gets in and triangles Megumi over the top rope then Megumi does the same to her.
Megumi double footstomps Chie's arm off the top then does a nice roll into a pin on her. Megumi takes a barrage of dropkicks from both opponents. Megumi then whips Chie with a belt and gets Riko as well, right in front of the ref. Riko dropkicks Kaz into a sunset flip from Chie then Chie rolls Kaz around with a bodyscissors. Kaz meteora's Chie for a close 2.
Kaz top rope kneedrops Chie then fireman's carry gutbusters her for 2. Riko then hits Kaz into a Chie roll up and Chie grabs the win.
I wasn't a big fan of this. I didn't like Megumi cheating right in front of the ref and nothing happening. The work wasn't anything great either.
Rydeen Hagane and SAKI vs Crea and AKARI
Akari armdrags Rydeen over then Rydeen blocks the 2nd attempt. Akari then spinning headscissors her. Rydeen is tripped into an elbow then camel clutched into a dropkick. Rydeen then spinning backbrackers Akari and splashes her. SAKI then gets in and stretches Akari. Akari comes back with a shotgun dropkick and Crea gets in. Crea hits machine gun chops on Saki then Saki atomic drops her.
Akari gets in then stranglehold chokes her on the buckles. Akari drops down with an armdrag into a roll and fujiwara armbar. Saki facekicks Crea and double chops her. Crea then hits a double arm nothern lights suplex and Akari 619's Saki. Crea then holds up Saki for an Akari bulldog.
Saki suplexes Crea. Akari and Rydeen get in and Akari top rope dropkicks her. Akari hits a step kick then takes a hard lariat for 2. Rydeen then powerslams her and spining heel kicks her for 2. Rydeen hits a monster release german on her then Akari takes splashes from the top from both opponents. Akari slides under Rydeen's lariat and rolls her up then Rydeen hits a great release backdrop on her. Rydeen misses a top rope moonsault then Crea 180 degree splashes her from up top. Akari hits a nice northern lights on Rydeen for 2.
Crea reverse brazilian kicks Rydeen then Akari lariats her. Rydeen hits a nice suplex into a swinging side slam but Akari doesn't sell it. Akari tries to roll her up but Rydeen does it to her too and grabs the win.
This was a good one here with some fast paced action. Rydeen hit some great suplexes here.
Synchronous Love Tag Team Tournament Semi Final Match - Kaori Yoneyama & Leon vs. Chie Ozora & Riko Kaiju
They waste no time getting into action here. Leon spears Chie and Yone goes to roll up Chie but is reversed and pinned in seconds.
This was bogus and there's no excuse for this Kaori or Leon were seriously injured. Yeah, it's surprising but Kaori not showing up would be surprising too and wouldn't be entertaining either.
Synchronous Love Tag Team Tournament Semi Final Match - Rydeen Hagane & SAKI vs. Momo Tani & Rina Amikura
Rina goes under A~min in Ice Ribbon, but goes under Rina here.
Momo and Rina attack their opponents early. Rydeen and Saki try to double team then but run into each other. Rydeen gets put on top of Saki then Momo double knee drops her and MomoRina pose on their opponents. Momo then strangleholds Saki and Rina gets in. Rina falling splashes Saki then Saki seemingly punches her in the crotch.
Momo gets back in and shoulder throws Saki around. Saki then leg and arm swings Momo. Rydeen gets in and double backdrops both opponents then backbreakers Momo over her shoulder. Momo then is put in reverse tree of woe and splashed. Rydeen then running lariats her twice for 2.
Momo gets stuck on a casadora attempt and is backdropped out of it. Mom then double knees her against the ropes and knee drops her. Rina is then tagged in and sentons Rydeen. Rina tries to shoulder battle Rydeen but gets nowhere. Rina then tries machine gun chops and gets nowhere then is taken down by a shoulder. Rina finally then takes her down with a shoulder.
Momo hits a Thesz press on Rina and they fall back onto Rydeen. Rina then splashes Rydeen for 2. Rydeen then spin kicks Rina for 2. Saki gets in and rocking chairs Rina then she double bulldogs Rina and Momo. Saki suplexes Rina then Rina hits a bad slam on her. Momo gets in and meteora's Saki through the ropes then Rina rolls onto Saki for 2.
Mom top rope knees Saki then vader bomb knee drops her for 2. Momo then 2nd rope double knee drops Saki. Rina 2nd rope sentons Saki then Momo hits a top rope knee drop on her for 2. Momo misses a meteora then takes a sliding lariat from Rydeen. Rydeen lariats over both opponents then her and Saki stereo vader bomb their opponents for 2. Momo tries some pin attempts on Saki then is alley-oop'd and superkicked. Saki then running brainbusters Momo to win it.
They just didn't sell much here though the pace was quick. I also felt they kicked out of too much by the end of it.
Synchronous Love Tag Team Tournament Final Match - Rydeen Hagane & SAKI vs. Chie Ozora & Riko Kaiju
Chie misses a dropkick then Saki rolls her into a grounded surfboard that Riko breaks up. Riko rolls up Saki into an ankle lock. Saki then suplexes her. Rydeen gets in and running lariats Riko in the corner. Riko dropkicks her for 2 then goes up the ropes to stunner her. Chie getsin and shoulders Rydeen, but is pulled off the top rope after.
Chie's team tries to double dropkick Rydeen but Riko misses then they both hit some footstomps on Rydeen. Riko then top rope crossbodies Rydeen and Chie top rope dropkicks Rydeen. Rydeen and Saki hit twisting elbows on their opponents from the 2nd buckle. Rydeen goes to lariat Chie but misses and Chie sells it like death anyway. Rydeen then perfext plexes her for 2.
Rydeen has her up on her shoulder and drops her to the side. Rydeen then wins it and wins the tournament with a top rope moonsault on Chie.
This wasn't too good. Rydeen was just done after 3 full-length matches which is understandable. The missed lariat spot was really bad as well.
Overall thoughts: One night tournaments are always tough as you want to protect people and not overwork people, so you get quick matches and weird endings. The show wasn't bad or anything even though I didn't like some of the matches and I thought it decent overall.
