Rey Fenix vs Andrade El Idolo
Fenix runs up the buckles and is pushed to the outside. Fenix is pushed into the steps then Andrade gets stuck up top. Fenix then hangs from the top rope and gets double stomped. Fenix then does a springboard twisting armdrag into a double stomp. Fenix then double jumps into a dropkick and rolls into a good cutter.
Andrade gets his knees up for Fenix's frogsplash. Fenix tries to walk the top rope but Andrade shakes the ropes and he crotches himself. Andrade tries to running knee him on the apron and runs into the post with his knee. Fenix then double stomps him as he is bent over on the floor from the top rope. Fenix misses a top rope senton. Andrade fist bumps someone in the crowd. They go up top and Fenix to rope flipping russian legsweeps him.
Andrade tries to hit Fenix wit ha tablet but the ref stops it. Andrade eye pokes Rey and dropkicks his knee. Fenix hits a springboard spin kick. Fenix tope con hilo's Andrade through the ropes then Fenix's and Andrade's translators fight in the ring. Rush comes down and kicks Fenix in the nuts. Andrade then hammerlock ddt's Fenix for the win.
Rush rips off Fenix's mask after then Penta comes out with a shovel.
They did too much here and this was overbooked at the end with interference and manager fights then Fenix getting his masked ripped off. Cut half of this, delay some of the angles and it would have been fine.
Eddie Kingston does a promo. He talks about Forbidden Door and then Blood and Guts. He says he wants to taste Jericho's blood and see if it pumps Kool-Aid. He said Jericho's a coward and coward's die a thousand deaths. Eddie said he's a soldier with his partners and they only die one death.
Swerve and Keith Lee do a promo. Swerve says they aren't seeing eye to eye but they are winning. They said they will win at Forbidden Door. Lee says they aren't on the same page but can get there. He says they have to keep winning. He again says they can get there.
Serena Deeb and Mercedez Martinez vs Sierra and Laynie Luck
They are pushing that Deeb and MM don't get along. Deeb stretches Sierra then MM gets in and works on Luck's arm. MM spinebusters Luck then Deeb indian deathlocks her. MM and Sierra get in and Sierra is chokeslammed on Lucky. Deeb bridges on the deathlock on Luck and Luck ropebreaks.
MM and Deeb hit shots on Luck in the corner with MM dropkicking her. Luck is double thrown ont othe ropes and bounces off. MM then forearms Luck in the back of the head as she is down. MM surboard dragon sleepers Luck then Deeb tequila sunrises Sierra for the double tap out win.
This was just a squash and used to push the issues with MM and Deeb which was fine. They shoved each other after.
Tully Blanchard did a promo with Tully Blanchard Enterprises. He has Kaun, Moses and Brian Cage. Tully says anyone who comes against them is his.
Jonathan Gresham and Lee Moriarty are interviewed. Lee is congratulated for his winning record on the youtube shows. Lee asks Jon for a ROH title match. Tully then comes in and says his crew deserves a title shot instead. Jon challenges Tully's boys to a match with him and Lee. This was kind of weird as they pushed that they were in ROH, when they really aren't.
Hook vs The DKC
DKC is an NJPW Strong guy. Hook leg trips him. DKC hits a chest strike then is flurried in the corner and hit with knees to the gut. Hook side throws him. DKC hits a bunch of chops then Hook hits a big suplex. Hook hits some crossfaces then taps him out with the tazzmission.
As always, the debuting person lost. I get that DKC isn't high priority or anything but they are trying to sell people on NJPW, and having their affiliated people lose doesn't help that.
We get a split screen interview with FTR and Jeff Cobb/Great O'Khan. Cash says he isn't a singles wrestler. Cobb says he respects them as a tag team but says they run their mouths too much. Cobb says his team will walk out with the ROH and NJPW tag titles at Forbidden Door.
The Gunn Club and The Acclaimed talk about being on the Buy-In for Forbidden Door. The Gunn's think they are going to Japan. Max and Bowens tell them they are going to Chicago then they do the scissor handshake.
Cash Wheeler vs Jeff Cobb
Cash tries to shoulder block Cobb early but gets nowhere. he then works on his injured leg. Cash dropkicks him then is flapjacked. Cobb then hits a tour of the islands backdrop. Cas then has his back rammed into the post.
Cobb then throws him hard into the post. Cobb works on the back then stands on it. Cobb then hits a standing moonsault. Cobb delay suplex throws Cash. Cash gets his sunset flip blocked the Cobb backbreaker holds him over his shoulder. Cash slips out with a sleeper. Cash hits some punches and takes one back.
Cash clips him then running euro's him out of the ring then plancha's him. Cash hits a sunset flip powerbomb for 2 then Cobb misses a standing moonsault. Cash gets thrown off on his tornado ddt attempt and Cash rolls him up on his tour of the islands attempt. Cobb then germans him and hits a tour of the islands slam for the win.
This was pretty decent. Nothing great or anything but Cash had an okay showing and Cobb actually got a win.
Khan comes down after and Dax Harwood jumps him then Opseray and Aussie Open run down and help out. Best friends come out and they all fight then Will is back body dropped on the stage. Eddie Kingston then comes out and starts punching Jericho. Eddie bites his face. Everyone brawls all around the ring after. Jericho then gets back on the mic after and yells at Eddie until Eddie hits him.
Overall thoughts: I thought the main and the angle after it was okay. The opener could have been okay but they did too much and they went too long. I always find shows with a long opener hard to sit through.
