Big Japan Pro Wrestling 6/6/2022

Big Japan Pro Wrestling 6/6/2022

I saw 6 of the 7 matches.

Fuminori Abe & Ryo Hoshino vs. Kazumasa Yoshida & Satsuki Nagao

Abe firemans carry takedowns Nagao and they roll on the mat. Yoshida gets in and takes a running forearm from Hoshino. Yoshida slams Hoshino then Nagao gets in and slams Hoshino. Yoshida forearms Abe off the apron then Yoshida hits a big hiptoss on Hoshino for 2.

Yoshida and Abe trade strike flurries in the corner and Yoshida hits a nice chest chop that the crowd pops for. Abe spin kicks Yoshida in the gut then PK's him for 2. The two trade shots and Abe hits a beautiful dropkick. Hoshino gets in and running dropkicks Nagao in two corners then suplexes him. Hoshino top rope dropkicks Nagao for 2. Nagao and Hoshino trade forearms. Nagao spinning heel kicks Hoshino and backdrops him for 2. Nagao then taps out Hoshino with a boston crab.

This went too long for being essentially a young lions match. It wasn't bad or anything but it was really nothing special.

Masaya Takahashi vs. Kazumi Kikuta

Masaya pushes Kikuta during intros. He then spears him at the start of the match then mounts and chokes him. Kikuta rolls out and Masaya blocks his attempt at getting in. Masaya and Kikuta forearm each other quite hard. Kikuta hits another hard forearm then dropkicks him in the corner.

Masaya side throws Kikuta then chokes him against from the mount. Masaya punches the ref off and throws out Kikuta. Masaya pulls on his face and pounds him outside then they choke each other. They trade chest palm strikes and Kikuta has to be pulled off him as he punches and elbows him.

Masaya gets busted open then chairs Kikuta. The ref tries to stop him then he chairs the ref. Masaya chairs him more then the ref DQ's him as he foot chokes Kikuta. Ringboys then come and break it up as they continue the fight outside. Masaya rips the ring skirt off and hits and chokes him with it.

So I knew this ended like this as I was checking through the matches. This was a cool fight. It was only a few minutes long, but they looked like they hated each other and really tried to put that over. The ref getting nailed is pretty rare even for BJW and Masaya using the ringskirt against Kikuta outside was cool. Good stuff.

Kota Sekifuda & Tatsuhiko Yoshino vs. Chicharito Shoki & Kaji Tomato

There's some tomato animation in the live chat for niconico and people were spamming it for Kaji in a fun moment. Kaji's been around for a while but I haven't seen that much of him.

Kota and Kaji trade armdrags then go for a dropkick at the same time. Tatsu shoulders Shoki down nad poses then moves out of the way on his dropkick. Shoki then hits a one legged dropkick and tags back to Kaji. Kaji takes a double back elbow then a double team combo that ends in a bulldog and a baseball slide.

Shoki gets in and hits flying single leg dropkicks on Kota then dropkicks him off the 2nd rope. Shoki then flying headscissors Tatsu and plancha's both opponents outside. Shoki PK's Kota  and they trade forearms. Kota side backcrackers Shoki the Tatsu dragon screws Shoki and Kaji.

Tatsu kind of hits Shoki in the crotch then Shoki hits a nice flying knee. Kaji gets in and flip dives on Tatsu. Kaji and Kota go at it then Kaji pele kicks him and Shoki hits a top rope la silla on Kota. Kaji takes a german from Tatsu and no sells it for a tiger suplex that Tatsu no sells. Tatsu then downs him with a forearm.

Tatsu and Kaji trade forearms then Tatsu falcon arrows him for 2. Kaji takes a codebreaker into a top rope senton combo then Tatsu germans Kaji for 2. Shoki hits la mistica on Tatsu then Kaji hits a weird flipping side crucifix driver on on Tatsu to win it.

This was a decent juniors match. They progressed nicely from start to finish and didn't overdo it too much. We got a couple of double team moves and we had some face and heel work and I ended up liking this one.

Kazuki Hashimoto & Okami (Daichi Hashimoto & Hideyoshi Kamitani) vs. Andy Wu, Ryota Hama & Yasufumi Nakanoue

Kami tries to shoulderblock Hama early but can't move him. Kami tries it again and gets knocked over. Wu hits a nice legsweep on Kazuki then takes some slams from Kami. Nakanoue flying clotheslines Daichi then delay suplexes him for 2. Nakanoue gets his lariat reversed by Daichi into an enzugiri. Kazuki gets in and facewash kicks Nakanoue and kicks his back for 2. Kazuki then suplexes Nakanoue.  Okami double forearm Nakanoue then Kazuki chest kicks him for 2.

It was okay but really nothing special. They just didn't have enough time.

Strong BJ (Daisuke Sekimoto and Yuji Okabayashi) vs Kosuke Sato and Takuya Nomura

Oka gets dropkicked by Sato during intros and they all fight outside. Oka throws his shirt at Sato and chops him. We get back in and Sato can't hurt Oka with forearms but goes down with one chop. Sek and Oka take turns slamming Sato then Sek crabs Sato. Sato tries more forearms on Oka but can't hurt him.

Sato dropkicks Oka in the corner then slams him. Nomura gets in and kick flurries Oka then Oka chop flurries him. Nomura hits a nice half underhook suplex on Oka but gets thrown off when he tries to choke him. Oka then runs him over.

Sut punch combos Nomura then spears him against the ropes. He hits a falling splash for 2. Nomura suplexes him and rolls him up on his sharpshooter attempt. Nomura hits a great german on him then is lariated. Sato then hits a nice running dropkick on Oka in the corner and hits Sek with a nice dropkick.

Sek criss crosses Sato and spears him then Oka running lariats Sato in the corner for 2. Oka crabs Sato and goes for a torture race, but Sato bites his hand. Sato hits another dropkick on him then Oka takes a sandwich kick to the front and back. Sato then grounded guillotines him but Sek breaks it up.

Sek charges at Sato and Sato pulls him over the top rope. Sato gets his PK blocked by Oka then is spinebustered. Sato and Nomura then get torture racked at the same time. then Nomura gets double clotheslined. Sato puts Oka in the grounded guillotine again but Oka powers out of it. Sato teases a leapfrog but catches him with another guillotine and Oka lariats him for 2. Oka puts a deep camel clutch on Sato and wins via tap out.

I thought this was a decent one with the juniors being the underdogs here against the bigger heavyweights. The juniors didn't get a ton in, but what they did get in looked good and Sek and Oka were fine as usual. I would have liked Sek and Oka to hit some germans though and seen more lariats from them here.

Fluorescent Lighttubes Death Match - Abdullah Kobayashi, Michio Kageyama, Jaki Numazawa & Yuki Ishikawa vs Akira Hyodo, Daiju Wakamatsu, Isami Kodaka & Ryuji Ito

Everyone starts to fight before the bell. Yuki misses a hiptoss on Isami but Isami flips for it anyway. Michio and Ito battle chairs and actually break a tube doing it then Michio pushes a chair into Ito's gut. Daiju throws Abby into the tubes then gets thrown into the tubes himself. Abby then pushes a broken tube into Daiju's head.

Daiju puts a stack of tubes on Jaki's crotch then flips onto it. Daiju flying forearms Jaki then Ito axe kicks tubes on Jaki's back. He then northern lights suplexes him for 2.

Yuki top rope footstomps Ito for 2. Jaki tries to pin Ito and Isami top rope meteora's his back. We get a 5 person suplex spot then Ito pours salt on everyone. Jaki runs at Ito with tubes then takes a shining wizard for 2. Ito and Michio trade shots then Michio enzugiri's him. Hyodo hits a spear then gets a blue thunder bomb. Isami hits Yuki with a tube then tope con hilos him. Abby randomly slips on salt and Daiju pours it on his head and wounds then headbutts him.

Daiju tries to headbutt Jaki but can't hurt him then gets lariated. Ito throws salt at Jaki but Jaki turns around then Jaki salts and mists him and rolls him up for the win.

This really wasn't a bad main event at all. They kept it moving and everyone got something in. They didn't do too much dumb stuff with the weapons and there was a little more than just the usual weapons only matches.

Overall thoughts: This was a good BJW show. 4 of the matches were good and another was a decent match.
