The Young Bucks vs The Lucha Brothers

Penta throws a glove at Matt and they counter each other. Nick and Rey do feints on the ropes then Nick runs up the ropes and does a corkscrew springboard armdrag. Rey and Nick miss high kicks then kick each other at the same time and double kip up into a stand off.

Nick shakes hands with Rey and Matt hits Rey from behind. Rey takes a combo kick/cannonball in the corner then Matt does a Buck does a corkscrew on Fenis outside. Penta then does a tope con hilo and Rey tornillo's from the top to the outside. We get an odd double submission in the ropes involving all 4 men then Nick headscissors Penta from the apron. Rey rolls into a cutter on Matt outside.

We go to picture-in-picture (PiP) break and return. The Hardy's and Jurassic Express are seen watching in the crowd. Rey double jumps and gets caught with the endless northern lights suplexes then Matt gets Penta on the last one too. Rey gets bridged off the 2nd rope and a Buck hits a top rope swanton on him.

Rey takes a backdrop but turns it into a hurricanrana then another Buck takes some move on the floor with a rey stomp. Rey then double stomps a Buck while Penta bridging ddt's him. Rey does a nice tope con hilo outside then Penta hits a made in japan and Rey frogsplashes Matt. A Buck takes an enzugiri while seated on the top. Rey gets on Penta's shoulders and Nick springboard dropkicks Rey which makes him poisonrana his partner.

Nick and Rey trade forearms then Rey rebounds off the ropes and hook kicks him. Rey gets on Penta's shoulders on the 2nd rope and splashes Nick. Penta then runs up Rey's back and hits a canadian destroyer. Rey hits a springboard spin kick then takes a superkick. Nick poisonrana's Rey then the Bucks double superkick both opponents. Rey springboard twisting crossbodies the Bucks but is caught and gets a meltzer driver for 2.

A buck rips off Penta's mask (and he looks like Jey Uso) then Rey takes a BTE trigger and is pinned.

This was all spot-fu. 15 minutes of non-stop spots, flips and dangerous moves. No logic and so selling at all in this one.

Powerhouse Hobbs and Ricky Starks vs ?

Starhs running forearms his opponent. Starks drops down and Hobbs nails the opponent after he goes over him. Hobbs hits a big spinebuster, Starks hits a spear and they have an inset promo that barely finishes before the match does.

It was a squash and wasn't long enough to say much else.

Athena vs Kiera Hogan

Stokely Hathaway does an inset promo. He calls Jade the most dominant champion and says Kiera will show Athena some California Love with a whooping. Jade, Stokely and Red Velvet are with Kiera.

Athena has cool metal wings on her jacket that retract. Athena flips out of a move early then springboard twisting crossbodies Kiera. Athena then does a stupid looking dive from the apron and yells at Jade. Red pulls Athena off the apron then Kiera does Pom Harujuku's step up legdrop. We go to PiP break and return.

Athena shotgun dropkicks Kiera then forward flips into a splash. Red Velvet gets on the apron and Athena pushes her off. Athena then takes a weird bump down when pulled with her hitting her head off the buckles. Kiera then baseball slides Athena for 2.

Athena hits discus punch on her and hits her diving cutter from the top to win.

This wasn't good. I'm not an Athena fan and she did some awkward stuff during this.

We get a House of Black vignette. Julia Hart is there and Malakai says the House always wins. Julia says these are the fruits of your labor.

CM Punk comes out. Punk said he would keep going until the wheels fell off, but something has happened. Punk says he is injured and needs surgery. He said the get back would be better than the set back. He promised to come back bigger, faster and stronger. He never stated exactly what was wrong other than something with his leg and he didn't really make it clear about what was happening with the title.

Dante Martin and Scorpio Sky do a split screen interview. Dante says he knows he is better than him because he has Matt Sydal. Matt Sydal says Sky will have to kill Dante to hold onto the TNT Title. Lambert says Dante is a big question mark. Sky questions whether Dante can back his talk up and Sky says he can't wait any longer to kick his teeth down his throat.

TNT Title - Scorpio Sky (c) vs Dante Martin

Sky shoulders over Dante early and Dante hits armdrags as we go to PiP break. We return with Dante hitting forearms. He flips off the bottom rope then springboards on Sky outside. Dante then hits a high top rope dropkick for 2. Lambert distracts the ref and everyone is caught staring at each other waiting. Dante hits a tko on Sky for 2.

Dante crossbodies Sky off the top and Sky rolls through. Dante then hits a high M. Bison stomp. Dante then takes a tko from Sky for the win.

This was a short one once you cut out the break. Lots of flying here.

At the end of the show, they announce a battle royale where the winner fights Mox for the Interim AEW Title.

Overall thoughts: The opener was what you would expect - total indy spot-fu. The women's match had the usual Athena/Ember Moon slop and the main was too short. Punk messed up his announcement and it just wasn't one of AEW's best shows.
