Hair vs Hair - Chris Jericho vs Ortiz
Jericho gets his lionsault blocked then Ortiz lariats him. Ortiz pounds on him outside. They go back in and Ortiz bites him. Jericho hits some forearms in the corner. He goes for a hurricanrana but Ortiz blocks it and powerbombs him from the top. Ortiz then flying headbutts him.
Ortiz tries to dive on Jericho but takes a forearm. Jericho then suplexes him off the apron onto the floor. We go to PiP break and return with Ortiz lariating him. Ortiz hits some chops and forearm combos. Ortiz then bridging cutters Jericho from the buckle for 2.
Jericho gets rolled up on a boston crab attempt then Ortiz ddt's him. Ortiz misses a 2nd rope cancun tornado and Jericho gets a 2 count off of it. Ortiz gets his hurricanrana blocked and is put in the boston crab, but Ortiz ropebreaks. Angelo Parker takes Ortiz's hands off the ropes and Eddie goes after him. Santana and Wheeler Yuta then come down and they brawl with Jericho's crew. Eddie gets in the ring and uraken's Jericho but Jericho kicks out at 2.
Jake Hager tries to get in and Fuego Del Sol comes out. He hits Ortiz with a baseball bat and Jericho picks up the win. Fuego then takes the mask off and it's Sammy Guevarra, who has reunited with Jericho.
The match wasn't bad. The Eddie nearfall was nice but dirty finishes aren't real fun.
Ortiz takes the scissors and razor from the barber then cuts off his own hair. Eddie says this isn't done then Ortiz starts yelling blood and guts. We are then told we are 2 weeks away from blood and guts.
The guards get on the apron and Wardlow knocks a couple off.
Wardlowlariats some of the guards one by one as one of the guards grabs his leg. He then powerbombs one of the guards onto a bunch of others outside. Wardlow tapes out and pins one at the same time then stacks a bunc hof guards on top of each other and pins them.
Wardlow powerbombs 3 guards and stacks them on each other to eliminate his 9th guard. Wardlow hits a spine buster, a powerbomb and another powerbomb. They all get stacked on each other and we are up to guard 13 being eliminated. We get more powerbombs and Wardlow eliminates the rest in one pile. We are told "this case has been dismissed".
It was what we expected it to be with Wardlow going over easy.
Wardlow grabs Sterling after and throws him in the ring. Dan Lambert and Scorpio Sky then show up in the stands with a mic. Lambert warns him that if they mess with one ATT member, they get them all. We then go to the front row with Mat tHughes and Tyrone Woodley. Lambert tells them to attack him but Hughes is having a hard time walking.
Wardlow says they are from St. Louis and says he knows they are smarter than to take orders from a rich a-hole in the skybox. Wardlow says they can fight but he thinks they are from the same cloth. Woodley then throws Sterling into Wardlow and Wardlow powerbombs him.
Dax Harwood vs Will Osperay
Dax rolls out of a wristlock then Will headflips out of one. Dax shoulders him then Will flying headscissors him. Dax hits some hard chops, suplexes him and leg drops him. Dax then hits a big back body drop. Will chinbreaskers Dax and they fight on the apron. Dax gets stuck in the ring skirt then takes a shotgun dropkick into the steps.
We go to PiP break and return. Will goes for a handspring back elbow and takes 5 germans. Dax then hits a hard release german. Dax misses a top rope headbutt then Will springboard 450's him for 2. Dax goes for a top rope back drop but Will rolls over on him for a 2 count. Will then powerbombs him and rolls through but Dax gets a pin attempt off of it.
Will plancha's Dax then hits a flying forearm to the back of the head for 2. Will high kicks Dax then takes a slingshot sitout powerbomb for 2. Will and Dax butt heads then Will superkicks him in the back of the head. Will then takes a big lariat and gives him a ligerbomb for 2. Will then hits an os cutter for another 2. Will then hits his hidden blade forearm to the back of the head and wins it.
They did way too much here and Dax should not have been going even with Will. Dax did good otherwise, but it was too much. If they eliminated about 30% of this, it would have been good.
United Empire gets in the ring then Roppogni Vice and Cash Wheeler come make the save. Orange Cassidy then comes out. All the faces then stand up to Will 5 on 1 and Will backs off.
We get a Jon Moxley package. He said he has been going after NJPW's best and has wanted Tanahashi for 3 years. Kevin Kelly then appears and backs it up then Tony said they have been on a collision course. Mox says he is the best wrestler and is the forbidden door.
Darby Allyn and Red Dragon did duel promos. Darby said he would break Bobby Fish's leg like they broke Sting's ankle.
Toni Storm was interviewed about Britt Baker. She said Britt was smart. Toni said she will take the women's division where it should be and said we want to see Toni Storm as the women's champ.
All Atlantic Tournament Qualifier - Ethan Page vs Miro
Page was looking quite built a few weeks ago and is back to looking chubby. Page hits some kicks on Miro early then Miro hits a nice lariat on him. We go to PiP break and return. Miro hits some chest clubs on Page over the ropes. Page then hits a top rope shoulder block for 2. Page then springboards off the bottom rope with a cutter.
Miro hulks up and hits a wild release exploder. Miro then hit a release belly to belly then a spin kick. Lambert gets on the apron and is hit then Miro pumping superkicks Page. Miro then camel clutches Page and falls back to win it.
There wasn't a ton to this. It was a little bit short but it was fine for what it was.
Dante Martin did a promo on Jon Moxley. He said he is facing him on Rampage. He said he is just potential at this point. He said he will beat Mox and become a star.
Britt Baker vs Toni Storm
Toni hits some forearms then they go outside and Toni is thrown into the post. Britt gets tripped off the apron then Toni top rope crossbodied Britt. Jamie Hayter pulled Toni out then Thunder Rosa came out and chased away Jamie.
We went to PiP break and returned. Tonit hit a tornado ddt then hit one from the inside to the outside on the floor. Toni then german suplexes her and running hip attacks her hard in the corner. Britt pulls Toni by the hair and rolls her up then hits a neckbreaker for 2. Toni germans Britt then short piledrivers her for the win.
I was surprised to see Toni get the win here but I didn't really think it was anything special.
Thunder Rosa then came out again and held up her title and pointed at her.
Stokeley Hathaway said Jade Cargill will issue an open challenge on Friday and he will make his commentator debut. Willow Nightingale then comes in and Stokeley asks if she wants to be a baddie. Willow said she knows him from the past and says she wants to accept Jade's open challenge. Stokeley says it is crazy but says he will accept.
Adam Page came out to talk. He said he challenged Okada but didn't consider that Okada might not be IWGP champion. Okada lots his title last weekend. He said the challenge still stood then Adam Cole came out. Cole said Page will not challenge for the title and said if anyone does challenge for the title, he will.
Cole said it should be him vs Jay White. Cole said Okada won't be at Forbidden Door then brought out Jay White. Jay hit a blade runner on Page. Jay said what makes Page think he can call the shots? He said Page lost his title to CM Punk. Jay said if he puts his title on the line at Forbidden Door, it won't be against Page. Cole was then calling for it but Jay said it won't be against him either. Jay said he holds the prize and now holds the power. So we still have no idea who is fighting him or if Page/Okada is happening. Great.
AEW Tag Titles - Ladder Match - Jurassic Express vs The Young Bucks
The Hardy's were supposed to be in this, but Jeff Hardy got arrested with a DUI, is suspended and is out.
Lucha lariats both Bucks early then a buck dropkicks a ladder into him through the ropes. JB then tope's a Buck. Nick and JB both walk the ropes and JB hurricanrana's Nick from the top while Nick is on the ladder. Lucha hits JB for a flatliner on Matt. Lucha then side lifts Nick for a top rope JB elbow.
JB is thrown into a ladder against the buckles, but he runs up it and twisting springboard crossbodies both Bucks. JB then takes the locomotion northern lights suplexes from Matt and is suplexed on the ladder. Nick then runs up the ladder and corkscrew dives Lucha. JB then gets lifted over the top by Lucha and hurricanrana's Matt off the apron through a table. He tries the same thing to Nick but is powerbombed through the table.
Matt springboard canadian destroyers Lucha then 450's him off the top through a table. We go to PiP break and return. JB goes for a springboard moonsault but takes double superkicks in the air. Lucha high kicks and chokeslams a Buck, then superkicks the other on a ladder. Lucha then moonsaults off the apron on them.
Lucha climbs a ladder with Matt on his back then JB his Matt with a ladder. All 4 men are on ladders then Lucha takes a small powerbomb onto a ladder on the ropes. JB takes a poisonrana then Matt top rope elbows Lucha through a table outside. JB germans Nick then pulls off one of Matt's shoes. JB then germans Matt. JB and the Bucks are on ladders then all 3 get pushed onto the ropes. Lucha climbs the ladder and is thrown through a 2x2 table stack outside. JB takes a BTE trigger and one of the Bucks has their nose busted open. The Bucks then grab the tag titles and win it.
It was a spotfest like every ladder match is. They did too much and I didn't think they really built that well to this or the Bucks winning. Obviously, this was never planned to be a 2v2 tag match and rumors were that the Hardys were going to win the titles.
JB has to get helped out. JB heads out and Christian hits his unprettier turning on him. Christian then hits a conchairto on JB to close the show. Some people have been saying they have seen the turn coming for months, but I didn't and didn't think it was built that well.
Overall thoughts: Wasn't a big fan of this one. The build to Forbidden Door has been a mess, the Bucks won the tag titles without much build and then Christian turned on Jungle Boy without a lot of explanation.
