WWE NXT UK 12/17/2020

 WWE NXT UK 12/17/2020

Just in the mood today to do this. I have not seen much NXT UK at all since it started.

Isla Dawn vs Kay Lee Ray

Dawn gets an edge early and drops double knees on her. But Ray takes over soon after. Dawn gets some more big kicks in and puts some knees on her on the ropes and then both knees on her on the mat. Dawn backdrops her for 2. Dawn hammers on her in the corner, looking pretty good here. Ray comes back though with a walk up the ropes DDT. She then does a version of the Koji Clutch but Dawn hits the ropes. Ray superkicks her and hits a gory bomb for the win. Decent match here with Dawn dishing out some nice shots.

Ray does a promo next saying she is the longest reigning champion on the roster and that no one else can stand up to her. She said get used to this sight because "forever is a long long time".

We get a feature on Ben Carter. Everyone puts him over as a top prospect.

Ilja Dragunov does a promo and says he isn't proud of his match with Walter. He says he is starting all over again.

Levi Miur and Jack Starz vs Saxon Huxley

Starz gets pushed around early. Miur's big but Huxley's bigger. Miur jumps up to leapfrog maybe and just gets thrown off. Starz gets slingshotted in and Miur dropkicks Starz back to knock Huxley over. Huxley does a great Thesz Press. Starz gets gorilla pressed by Huxley and totally thrown. Huxley then goes around the ring nailing both opponents. Huxley does a release spinning powerbomb. Muir comes in and hits Huxley with some shots and catches Huxley on another Thesz Press try. Miur and Starz double dropkick Huxley and Starz takes him down with a flying shoulder. Huxley holds onto the ropes when Starz tries to get him for a pin and Muir hits his arms and Huxley falls and is pinned. Huxley then beats up everyone for it.

Dave Mastiff comes out to fight and him and Huxley go at it. He lariats Huxley over the top.

I feel like I'm missing some of the story here as this was unusual booking to say the least. You put a big guy in a handicap match and have him lose, then on top of it, you have someone else get the edge over him after.

We see a backstage video of Piper Niven training. Someone pushes in a box with a chair in it while she walks away with a note from Jinny. She then says she wants Jinny in a 1v1 match.

Mastiff meets Rampage Brown in the back and says he will meet anyone in the ring who wants to go.

The A-Kid is there with the Heritage Cup. He challenged Walter for the NXT UK Championship as he wants to call himself the best. Walter came out and told him to wipe his feet before entering. Walter said Kid put heart and passion in the Heritage Cup tournament but said he isn't Walter and is nothing special. He said Kid's fairy tale ends when he steps in the ring with him. He said he is the NXT UK champ and it won't change.

Kenny Williams and Amir Jordan talk in the trainer's room. Kenny says his knee is hurt and they can't challenge for the tag titles yet, but he will stay around and help out Amir.

Trent Seven is asked about the Heritage Cup. He said he thought he did enough but did not. He said he put too much pressure on himself and was looking backwards instead of forwards. He said he isn't sure if he was ready yet to be a champion. He said he could become better and if you ask me, he could start with his physique. He basically says he is taking time off.

Josh Morrell vs. Rampage Brown

Josh takes a giant backdrop early and gets kicked right out of the ring. Brown slams him and throws him into the corner hard. Brown dives into the corner and gets nothing then Josh does a moonsault dropkick and a standing corkscrew flip onto him. Josh then jumps up on the ropes and catches hmself with a cool corkscrew, ducks a lariat then takes a bigger lariat. Brown then gives him a big powerbomb and a doctor bomb for the win. This was pretty good with both men sticking out.

Sid Scala announces Walter vs A-Kid for the NXT UK Title.

NXT UK Tag Titles - Gallus vs The Hunt with Eddie Dennis

Primate charges early knocking down Coffey then Wolf gets double team'd. Wolf gets himself out of the beatdown in the corner. One of the hunt bites Mark and they double backdrop him for 2. Primate lifts up Boar and he legdrops MC. MC hits some hard elbows to come back and Boar sentons an MC on all fours. Wild Board is awesome. MC hits a nice diving euro uppercut and Boar misses a lunge and goes shoulder first into the buckles. Wolf gets in during the hot tag an does a cool side senton on Boar. Then he does a good double axe handle off the top and a cool suplex when he finishes it with his opponent landing on his stomach. Eddie Dennis gets involved and saves Boar, then Boar sentons Wolf, who lays across the ropes. Joe Coffey then comes out and takes out Dennis. We get interference from Webster and Andrews on The Hunt and Gallus is able to put away The Hunt with slam and a gamengiri.

I could have done without the interference but this was a fun match with some good big man stuff.

Pretty Deadly comes out and they are dressed as women...and I think it's their normal gear. Oliver Carter and Ashton Smith attack them from behind, throwing them in and Gallus clears them out.

Overall thoughts: The end was a little messy, but I thought this was a pretty good show overall with some good action.
