WWE LFG 8/16/2026 Season 3, Episode 17

Bayley Humphrey goes into the office and says she's getting a new name. She is told she can be Myka Lockwood or Sage Blackwood. Bayley says she likes Myka more. She asks if she has to have a last name and is told it's easier to have a last name also because then they can reduce it to just her first name.

Matt Bloom, Booker T, Bubba Ray Dudley and Kevin Owens are today's coaches. Braxton Cole faces Shady Elnahas and Booker T will coach that one. Bloom says Cole is smart and will get it. He says this is Shady's 2nd match. He says he was worried about doing other people's moves in his first match. Owens has Malik Blade vs Chris Island. Bloom says Blade doesn't have the charisma. Bloom says nothing is consistent with Chris and he underperforms when the red light is on. Bubba has Myka Lockwood vs PJ Vasa. Bloom says they are physical and he wants them to be physical. Bloom says the bookers aren't believing that PJ is vicious and says it's not her. 

Booker talks to Cole and Shady. Shady says he was told to be himself and use his judo skills in the ring. Booker says Shady is a little disconnected. Booker says Cole's character is a smart guy and says he wants him to look smart without Shady looking stupid. Cole has a judo book to bring out with him.

Braxton Cole vs Shady Elnahas

Shady has a red judo gi on. Some of the PC wrestlers yell "wiener" at Cole as he enters.

They lock up. Shady shoulder throws him and Cole ropebreaks on an armbar attempt. Cole boots him in the gut and armlocks him. Shady goes for the armbar. Shady does judo throws and slams him for 2. Shayd is pulled out of the ring. Shady's head is banged off the steps outside.

Cole kicks him in the ribs and stomps him. Cole catapults his throat into the bottom rope for 2. Cole euros him over. Cole knees him in the gut and Shady sling blades him. Shady is crotched up top. Cole bridging neckbreakers him for 2. Shady hits punches and is put in a sleeper. Shady hits lariats and spin kicks him in the face. Shady ranhei's him for 2. Shady rolling armbars him 

Shady is popped up throat first on the ropes. Cole fireman's carry spinebusters him on his back and pins him.

Thoughts: Shady's not really cut out to be a face and he could use a bit more charisma. This felt like it got a little more time than usual. This didn't really catch my interest and was so-so.

Booker talks to the wrestlers. Booker says Shady's intensity could have been better and needs more aggression. Cole thought it was one of his better bouts. Bloom says Cole did a nice job and tells him to have some fun with the "wiener" chant. Bloom complains about Shady looking down too much during the match an says Shady has a bald spot.

Kevin Owens talks to Blade and Island. Owens tells Blade to find something to set him apart aside from his flying. Blade says Bubba and Booker have been around a long time but Owens can tell them about current things as he is still wrestling. Owens complains about Chris' jeans. Chris says there was complaints about his gi, singlet and jeans now. Chris says it's time for him to settle in.

Chris Island vs Malik Blade

Both guys have already been released from WWE. 

They lock up and CI shoves him. CI armlocks him and spinebusters him. Blade sunset flips him for 2. CI armlocks him. Blade tries to armdrag him out but CI holds on. Blade flying headscissors him and hits 2 bad spinebusters. 

Blade armlocks him. CI drops him throat first on the ropes and backbreakers him. CI hits mounted punches. CI hits corner spears and backbreakers him again. CI pulls his arms back. Blade hits dropkicks and fisherman suplexes him. CI lariats him down.

CI is on the 2nd rope and is dropkicked. CI crotches himself. Blade top rope frogsplashes him and pins him.

Thoughts: Chris wasn't that bad here. It was maybe acceptable but nothing too great. The coaches didn't like this one at all. It could have been a little quicker and more exciting.

KO tells Island and Blade that their match lacked energy. Owens says he's not giving him enough. Owens says it comes down to confidence. Blade says you never stop learning and never stop getting better. 

Bloom puts over some of the holds they used. He says Blade's energy dropped after a nearfall and needed him to be more fiery. Island says Bloom likes the direction he's going in. Bloom says he liked it.

Tristan Angels and Myka Lockwood talk next to his car. Myka tells him her new name. Angels doesn't seem thrilled with it and has her Bayley Humphrey name on the other side of the car.

Bubba talks to Myka and PJ. Myka says she loves the name. Bubba says he can hear the fans chanting her name. Bubba asks about their fears and PJ says she's worried about how Shawn Michaels will regret. Myka worries about leaving something behind in the ring. Bubba says to get rid of the fear. Bubba says both girls can get to the next step. 

Bubba says to take the match seriously and says both need to show intensity.

Myka says she feels pressure as she's using a new name. 

Myka Lockwood vs PJ Vasa

We are at the NXT arena for this. 

They lock up twice then butt heads. Myka shoves her then gets slammed. Myka then slams her. PJ slaps her on top of the head and side headlocks her. Myka shoulders her over. Myka hits chops and running lariats her. PJ double boots her out of the corner. PJ headbutts her and lariats her over the top. 

Myka's back is rammed into the apron edge. PJ slams her on the floor then chinlocks her in the ring. PJ hits elbow drops and chinlocks her again. Myka backdrops her then standing moonsaults her. PJ black hole slams her. PJ spears her. 

Myka chokeslams her for 2. PJ corner splashes her. PJ misses a corner splash then Myka 2nd rope diving shoulderblocks her. Myka pins her.

Thoughts: I liked it. They did some hoss wrestling here. Myka's standing moonsault was impressive and I liked her 2nd rope diving shoulderblock. It was a fun match.

Shanw Michaels tells them they did a good job. Bubba asks the girls if it was their best effort. Bubba wanted them to do a better chokeslam. Bubba says it was good. 

Bloom liked the match and wants Myka to be the same person in future matches. Bloom says he felt the savage in PJ. Myka says it's awesome to wrestle in front of the crowd. Myka says she's excited to find out who Myka Lockwood is.

Overall thoughts: It was the usual LFG for the most part. It's more of a documentary than a wrestling show and that makes it a little hard to rate, but it makes sense and the worked shoot stuff from prior seasons is gone. The main was the only thing I was really into here and that was an entertaining battle. I wouldn't recommend this one.
