New Japan Pro Wrestling 7/26/2025 G1 Climax 35 Day 6

They have a ceremony for Hulk Hogan, who passed away with the roster coming out and Hulk's photo.

Oleg Boltin & Toru Yano vs. Daiki Nagai & Yota Tsuji

Oleg and Yota shoulder battle. Yota dropkicks him in the knee then Oleg shoulders him over. Oleg misses a splash then Yota hits a splash for 2. Oleg misses a corner splash.

Oleg runs into a flatliner then Yota baseball slides him. Nagai gets in and knocks Yano off the apron. Oleg suplexes Yota in for 2. Oleg karelin's lifts him for 2. Oleg takes a 2 person double chop then a double suplex for 2.

Naga hits forearms on Oleg then dropkicks him. Oleg back body drops him. Yano comes in and takes off a turnbuckle pad. Yano goes into it then is dropkicked by Nagai. Yano slaps him in the back of the head then Nagai running forearms him. Yano rakes the eyes and Nagai hits him in the back of the head. Nagai then spinebusters him for 2. Yano hits a big powerbomb and wins.

Thoughts: I liked this and thought it was a good opener. Yota and Oleg matched up well togther and made me want to see them fight. Nagai showed some fire and I liked seeing him get some revenge on Yano.

Oleg and Yota have words after.

United Empire (Callum Newman & Jakob Austin Young) vs. BULLET CLUB War Dogs (David Finlay & Gedo)

CN plancha's DF before it starts. They fight outside and DF is sent into the rails. They fight in the crowd and DF sends him into the seats.

DF boots him in the ring then yanks on his arm. Gedo stomps him in the leg then armlocks him. Gedo eye rakes him. DF top rope double axe handles the arm then he double throat thrusts him. CN corkscrew kicks him.

Jake gets in and hits shots on Gedo. Gedo eye rakes him then Jake flying leg lariats him. Jake 2nd rope dropkicks him. DF gordbusters Jake then Gedo superkicks Jake for 2.

DF and CN trade forearms. CN flying gamengiri's DF  then he hits a shiranui on Gedo and wins.

Thoughts: It was short and there was not too much of note here. Gedo was pinned as expected. CN attacking DF before it started was something different.

Masatora Yasuda & Taichi vs. House Of Torture (SANADA & Yoshinobu Kanemaru)

The heels attack before intros are over. Tai is stomped on by both heels then Yasuda is thrown out. Tai sends YK out then San eye rakes Tai. Tai chokes San with his jacket still on.

Yasuda hits forearms on San then he hiptosses him. YK throws Yasuda out then sends him into the rails. San bangs Tai's head off the seats in the crowd. San then hits Tai with a water bottle. Tai then tries to bring a chair in.

YK suplexes Yasuda and slams him. Yasuda hits forearms on San then is dropkicked in the knee. Yasuda slams San. Tai comes in and running facekicks San after leg kicks. He then running facekicks YK and side kicks San. YK trips Tai then San kicks the rope into Tai's crotch. San then sends Tai into Milano Collection AT the commentary table.

Tai spin kicks San in the gut. San flips over him using the ropes then Tai running lariats him. Yasuda comes in and dropkicks YK. Yasuda suplexes him for 2. YK boots him out of the corner then Yasuda rolls up YK for 2. YK dropkicks him and then crabs him. Yasuda then taps out.

Thoughts: It was just a match with Yasuda being the losing here. Sanada did his usual outside brawling stuff and there wasn't anything too good about this one.

Sanada tries to throw Tai into Milano again outside after.

Tai grabs a chair and throws it at the heels. Tai gets in and YK stomps him. They choke each other and then Tai has to fight off San and YK with the young lions breaking it up.

Tomoaki Honma & Yuya Uemura vs. House Of Torture (Dick Togo & EVIL)

Evil and Togo attack before the faces even fully enter. Evil pounds on Yuya outside. Togo foot chokes Honma. Togo stomps Honma then tries his own version of Honma's falling headbutt but misses. Honma then misses his falling headbutt.

Togo stomps on Honma and eye rakes him. Togo yanks on Honma's arm and armlocks him. Togo armbars him and Honma ropebreaks. Togo hits a fist drop for 2. HoT ring the bell and pretend Togo won. Togo hits punches on Honma and Honma hulks up. Togo then eye pokes him. Honma suplexes Togo.

Yuya comes in and armdrags then dropkicks Evil. Yuya running chops him in the corner then Evil eye rakes him. Evil superkicks him low then Fale hits Yuya outside. Evil fisherman suplexes Yuya for 2.

Yuya chops Evil then backdrops him. Honma running back elbows Evil then Honma hits his falling headbutt drop on him. Evil lariats Honma then Honma flying headbutts him. Fale comes in and splashes Honma while Togo grabs the ref. Togo low blows Yuya then Honma takes a magic killer for the loss.

Thoughts: It was the usual HoT BS with the faces being morons who were unable to see it coming and a ref who could have cared less. Honma did some Hogan spots here which I popped for.

Yuya is put in the sharpshooter and Togo chokes him while Fale stands on him after.

Hiroshi Tanahashi & Katsuya Murashima vs. TMDK (Hartley Jackson & Ryohei Oiwa)

KM = Katsuya Murashima

Oiwa wristlocks Tana then they trade hammerlocks. Oiwa side headlock takeovers him and thye end up getting up and standing off soon after. Tana hits him in the gut in the corner. Tana back elbows him then 2nd rope twisting crossbodies him.

Oiwa rolls up Tana for 2. Tana tries a dragon screw but Oiwa goes for the pin on him. They trade forearms. Oiwa spinning forearms him and is slapped. Tana hits a twist and shout then Oiwa suplexes him. 

Hart and KM shoulder battle. Hart chops him then KM dropkicks him. Hart then shoulders him over. Hart misses a corner splash. Hart fights off a double shoulderblock then takes a double dropkick to the knee. KM sentons Hart for 2.

Hart corner splashes KM then lariats him for 2. Hart and Oiwa hit sentons on KM for 2. Hart back elbows and euros KM. KM tries to shoulder him over then finally does. KM then powerslams Hart for 2.

Hart boots his way out of a crab then escapes a 2nd crab attempt. Hart lariats KM then death valley drivers him to win.

Thoughts: I thought it was fun. Hart has really found his niche working with the young lions and they should have him do it more. KM was really likeable here as the spunky underdog who had tons of energy.

G1 Climax 2025 Block B Match - YOSHI-HASHI vs. Great-O-Khan

Khan clean breaks Yoshi and they trade shots. Yoshi double chops him. Khan hip throws him. Khan claws Yoshi against the rails outside then sends him into them. Yoshi's head is banged off the apron. Yoshi is then slammed on the apron.

Khan tries to pin Yoshi with his knee on his throat. Khan lariats Yoshi from behind in the corner then sits on his neck. Khan double underhook suplexes him for 2. Yoshi dropkicks him in the knee. Yoshi running headhunters him. Yoshi neckbreakers him for 2. Yoshi forearms Khan then chops him. Khan shoulder throws him. They trade chops.

Khan hits mongolian chops then Yoshi dragon suplexes him. Yoshi hits a corner lariat then Khan TTD's him for 2. Khan head and arm chokes him. Khan drives Yoshi's face into the mat then Yoshi ddt's him.

Yoshi hits forearms then short arm lariats him. Yoshi fisherman busters him for 2. Yoshi running lariats him then superkicks him. Yoshi hits another running lariat for 2. Yoshi superkicks him then Khan hits a big pop-up chokeslam. Yoshi codebreakers him off a claw slam attempt for 2. Yoshi superkicks him then Khan hits an AA. Yoshi shoulder throws Khan. Khan straight punches Yoshi then hits claw slam and wins.

Thoughts: It started out pretty average but got good by the end when they started busting out the bigger moves. I liked this one and thought it was a solid match.

G1 Climax 2025 Block B Match - El Phantasmo vs. Zack Sabre Jr.

Zack front facelocks him and goes for the arm. ELP flips him by the arm, Zack upkicks him and they regroup. Zack does a double knuckle lock. ELP tries to pin him down then Zack monkey flips him. ELP holds on and monkey flips him. They bridge together then slap each other out of the bridge.

ELP slaps him more when they get up and Zack drops him with one. ELP rolls him and they try pin attempts for 2. ELP chops him and they snapmare each other. Zack twists ELP's neck with his feet. Zack cravates him. ELP armdrags him then Zack cravates him again. ELP flips out of a snapmare and dropkicks Zack off the apron. ELP tries to plancha him but is caught with a cravate.

ELP plancha's him outside. ELP topes Zack over the rails. ELP then springboard plancha's him in the first row. They go back in. ELP headbutts Zack off the buckles then diving tornado ddt's him. Zack goes for the ankle lock then twists his neck with his feet. Zack hits a hard running facekick then tornado ddt's him off the buckles. Zack goes for a michinoku driver but ELP hits one instead.Zack pele kicks ELP's arm and euros him over. ELP lariats him. Zack michinoku drivers him. 

Zack hits slaps then lariats him. Zack does a headscissors with an armbar then he hooks the leg as well. ELP then ropebreaks. ELP chops him and is euro'd down. Zack euros him over. ELP powerbombs Zack out of a triangle then hits a CR2 gordbuster. ELP springboards but Zack gets his knees up. Zack PK's him. 

ELP backrolls him and gets a bridge pin for 2. ELP superkicks him for 2. ELP hits kicks to the chest. ELP hits slaps then Zack drops him with a big slap. Zack hits a spinning michinoku driver for 2. Zack grounded sleepers him. Zack then submits him with a grounded sleeper.

Thoughts: The first half of this started out well with them doing some good technical wrestling and going toe to toe. It slowed down a little in the second half and they didn't quite keep it up, but it was still good enough overall. They had a chance to make the jump to the next level here with this one but didn't quite get there. I thought it helped out ELP and made him look good though. 

G1 Climax 2025 Block B Match - Shota Umino vs. Ren Narita

Ren ducks a lock up and slides out. Ren then stalls. Ren misses a facekick over the top and rope and has his leg pulled down over the top rope. Shota then kneebreakers him and sends him out.

Shota is sent into the rails and facekicked over them. Shota is pushed into the post then chaired by Ren. Shota's arm is wrapped around the rail. Shota's mouth is busted open.

Ren elbow drops him. Ren foot chokes him. Ren back elbows him for 2. Ren armbars him then knee drops the arm.  Shota dropkicks him in the knee. Shota hits chops and forearms in the corner. Shota running euros him then fisherman suplexes him for 2. Shota then STF's him and Ren ropebreaks. Shota almost drops Ren on his head three times then Ren rolling armbars him. Ren goes for the armbar. 

Shota tornado ddt's him. Shota step up knees him in the corner. Shota powerbombs him for 2. Shota STF's him. Yoshinobu Kanemaru comes out and rings the bell. Shota thinks he has it won and breaks the hold.

Ren tries to hit Shota with a push-up bar but is dropkicked. Shota hits forearms. Ren chokes him and Shota drops him with forearms. Shota hits forearms on Ren then Ren northern lights suplexes him. Ren does a sleeper.

Ren germans him for 2. Ren comes off the top and is hit with a hard lariat. Shota running knees him for 2. Kanemaru trips Shota from the outside. Ren misses a push-up bar shot and is enzugiri'd. Shota hits a hard running lariat. Shota nearly goes into the ref then is low blowed and facebustered for 2.

Ren top rope diving kneepresses him and pins him.

Thoughts: Shota hit a lot of nice lariats here and we just had to have the usual HoT nonsense. Ren winning was a surprise here. It wasn't anything too special though if Ren would have just been allowed to work a normal match it would have been better.

G1 Climax 2025 Block B Match - Shingo Takagi vs. Konosuke Takeshita

Shingo side headlock takeovers him and they get back up. KT side headlocks him. They shoulder battle. Shingo hiptosses him and shoulders him over. Shingo elbow drops him. Shingo facelocks him.

KT hits a flying lariat. KT ddt's him. KT hits a hard knee to the gut and forearms him. KT 2nd rope sentons him. Shingo side headlock takeovers him then dragon screws him. Shingo hits chops then suplexes him for 2. Shingo hits punches then a ddt. Shingo lariats him from behind then KT hurricanrana's him. KT facekicks him on the apron. KT ddt's him on the apron. Shingo pop-up death valley drivers him on the floor. 

Shingo corner lariats him then hits a big superplex. Shingo sliding lariats him for 2. KT exploders him. Shingo exploders him back. KT hits germans and pumping knees him. Shingo then lariats him. 

They trade shots and forearm combos. Shingo punches him and both go down. KT hits a big forearm and a blue thunder for 2. KT is crotched up top and Shingo lariats him down. Shingo sliding lariats him from behind then hits a made in japan for 2. KT tombstones him then hits a spinning package tombstone for 2.

Shingo suplexes him and KT suplexes him back. They lariat each other at the same time. KT hits knees to the head. Shingo then hits knees to the head. Shingo headbutts him. They double clothesline each other then Shingo germans him. Shingo sliding forearms him.

Shingo running lariats him for 2. Shingo hits a death valley driver for 2.
KT hits a raging fire and Shingo rolls to the ropes before KT can try a pin. KT forearms him on his knees. KT hits headbutts then Shingo does KT's package tombstone. Shingo wheelbarrow germans him, KT no sells it and is lariated. KT then hits his own made in Japan for 2. KT pumping knees him for 2.

They trade forearms. Shingo headbutts him and KT forearms him back. Shingo running lariats him for 2. KT does a grounded chickenwing. Shingo is out and KT wins.

Thoughts: I didn't like it at all. There was lots of action but nobody really sold anything here and nothing meant much. The finish didn't gel with the match either after they spent the whole match doing anything but submissions.

KT then talks on the mic after to close the show.

Overall thoughts: I liked the opener and Tanahashi's match was fun. Zack/ELP had a good one and Khan/Yoshi got good by the end as well. I'd give it a 6 out of 10 overall and thought it was a bit above average.
