We are in Syracuse, NY. Mother's Day is coming up. Mr. Perfect and Vince McMahon are our hosts.
Perfect says it wasn't Vince's Mother's Day the day he was born. He says every mom thinks their child is perfect but his mom was actually right about it.
Bret Hart vs Von Krus
We haven't seen Von for a while but he did good the last time we saw him.
Von eye rakes Bret then clubs his back. Bret back elbows him then slams him. Shawn Michaels and Sherri do a promo. Shawn says we have a dynasty in the making and he will break some hearts, including Bret's. He says the IC title is his.
Bret hits a suplex then an elbow drop. Bret russian legsweeps Von. Bret then sharpshooters Von and taps him out.
Thoughts: It was a quick one with Von not getting anything in or really even being able to do his good bumping.
WWF Update
Mean Gene Okerlund talks about The British Bulldog fighting The Repo Man on Wrestling Challenge last week. We see clips from it. Davey goes to slam Repo but Repo kicks the ref on accident. Repo hits Davey with his rope and hook. Repo clubs Davey then hangs him over the ropes with the ref out. We don't get to see the finish of that.
Gene says that was inhumane. The British Bulldog does a promo. He said Repo tried to hang him for good and failed. He says he's mad and will sink his teeth into Repo. He says this dog will never be tied down.
Harvey Wippleman gets on the mic. He says from the dark continent of
Africa to the WWF comes the most violent force ever in the WWF. He then
brings out Kamala with Kim Chee. Kamala hadn't been seen in the WWF
since 1987.
Kamala vs Sonny Blaze
Kamala chops on SB. He bangs SB's head off the mat then double throat thrusts him. Kamala then hits a big splash on the back. Kamala tries to pin him by laying on his back but then turns him around and wins.
Thoughts: It was a quick squash as it should have been with Kamala getting the easy win.
We get an ad for the WBF Championship and WBF Bodystars.
El Matador vs Bob Bradley
Perfect reads a message from Nailz to The Big Boss Man. Nailz says he's coming for him and says he's nothing but a pig without a prayer.
Tito side headlocks Bob. Tito leapfrogs him then running lariats him. Tito hits dropkicks then side headlock takeovers him, nearly getting the pin. Bob clubs Tito then Tito hits a shot to the gut. Tito knee lifts him then flying forearms him in the back of the head to win.
Thoughts: It was a quick one but at least it was somewhat competitive. Perfect read a note from Nails to The Big Boss Man here.
WWF Event Center
6/6/1992 is the next Boston Garden show. Undertaker faces Berzerker and Macho Man faces Ric Flair. Flair and Mr. Perfect do a promo. Perfect tells Macho to enjoy himself propery as his reign will only last a little. Flair says Macho is a temporary champ and will have to cross their path soon. Flair says they will take the title and kiss Elizabeth again.
Macho Man does a promo. He says it won't be a typical title match with Flair. He says ignorance will not let Flair slide. He says it's a gun fight and he will gun him down. Macho says he wants Flair's crew out of the WWF and out of life.
The Legion of Doom and Paul Ellering wish a happy mother's day.
The Legion of Doom (Animal & Hawk) vs Mark Kay and Terry Davis
The LOD club on their opponents and one of them is thrown out. Animal hits a nice dropkick on Terry then yanks on the arm. Hawk knees Terry in the gut.
Mark gets in and takes a flying shoulder. Hawk gorilla presses Mark. Animal elbow drops Mark. The Beverly Brothers and The Genius do an inset promo. Genius calls LOD mama's boys. The Bev's say The LOD are sissies. Animal corner lariats Mark. Mark then takes a doomsday device and is pinned.
Thoughts: The jobbers got nothing in as expected and were roughed up like usual by The LOD.
WWF Event Center
6/6/1992 is the next Boston Garden show. The Berzerker and Mr. Fuji do a promo. Fuji says he will put Taker and Bearer's remains in his own urn. Berz asks Taker how it feels to have someone got Berzerker on him. Berz says he will harpoon Taker next time. He says he has closed a lot of men's eyes and can't wait to get his hands and sword on him.
Paul Bearer and The Undertaker do a promo. Paul says what they did was unforgiveable and they will pay. Taker says the crimes committed against the body are unimportant. He says he will destroy Berzerker's body and possess his soul for all eternity.
Crush vs Kato
Kato side headlocks him then is shouldered over. Crush grins. Kato eye rakes him then pulls on his hair. Crush picks him up and throws him. Crush blocks punches then is hit with chops and a knee. Crush side backbreakers Kato. Crush gorilla press slams him. Crush hits a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Crush spinebusters Kato and wins.
Thoughts: It was all squash here. Crush didn't look that impressive here. It was a short one.
Crush helps Kato up after but then Kato falls down after.
Papa Shango burns an Ultimate Warrior poster and does a poem.
Rick Martel is interviewed on the stage. Rick says he would never do anything like spraying Tatanka in the eyes with his Arrogance. He says the feather is wearing from Tatanka is the hottest new trend. Rick says Tatanka should be called, "Whining Arrow". He says if you want to dance with this wolf, the warpath he travels will soon be a trail of tears.
Sgt. Slaughter wishes everyone a Happy Mother's Day.
Ric Flair vs Sgt. Slaughter
Sarge pushes Ric down off the lock-up and does his taunt. The Mountie comes out. Ric knocks over Sarge then Sarge gorilla presses him. Jimmy Hart gives Mountie a box. Sarge gorilla presses Flair again.
Ric hits chops and sends him into the buckles. Sarge falls over the top off the bump. Ric hits chops. Sarge hits punches and drops Ric with a big punch. Sarge back body drops Ric then lariats him. Mr. Perfect gets on the apron. Mountie pulls out a big shock stick as Sarge lariats Ric over the top.
Ric's head is banged off the apron. Sarge suplexes Ric into the ring. Ric begs off. Ric goes into the buckles and over the top to the floor on the bump. Sarge hits punches on Ric then Ric boots him out of the corner. Sarge gorilla presses Ric off the top for 2.
Ric uppercuts and eye pokes Sarge. Ric tries to catapult Sarge but Sarge can't get over him. Sarge lariats Ric for 2. Sarge misses an elbow drop. Sarge is sent chest first into the buckles. Mr. Perfect distracts the ref. Mountie then shocks Sarge with his stick twice. Sarge is out and Ric pins him to win.
Thoughts: Ric and Sarge worked well together. These two are both big bumpers and they did indeed do lots of big bumps here. I'd like to see this one again as it was pretty solid. Vince was a low-key jerk here for allowing Sarge to get shocked without trying to warn him when he knew it was coming.
Mountie laughs and says Sarge is US scum and nothing after. Sarge is then wheeled out on a stretcher. Mountie then sings his song.
The Nasty Boys vs Bill Pierce and Brian Brieger
Bill is in the yellow and Brian is in the black. Saggs backdrops Brian then Knobbs elbow drops Brian. Vince says High Energy will likely fight The Nasty's soon. Perfect comes back to the booth and says he didn't know what was going to happen in the last match. Saggs pump handle slams Brian for 2.
Bill is sent into Saggs' boot in the corner. Bill's head is banged off the buckles then Knobbs corner splashes him. Knobbs powerslams Bill. Saggs then top rope elbow drops Bill and picks up the in.
Thoughts: It was all squash here as expected and not much else. Saggs almost slipped on his finisher.
WWF Event Center
Sean hypes up the 6/692 Boston Garden show. The Beverly Brothers and The Genius do a promo. Genius says he will be with The Bev's and The LOD will be losing. Blake says the crowd will chant "LOS" at them. Beau calls them The Legion of Sissies and says they are tough but have no brains.
The LOD and Paul Ellering do a promo. Animal says they haven't had enough of a beating. Animal says things will be different this time as they have Paul Ellering. Paul says Genius better watch out. Hawk says they dream of busted bladders and says The Bev's will have one soon.
Next week has The Ultimate Warrior vs either Knobbs or Saggs. Why? Who knows. Jimmy Hart says one of The Nasty's get to beat up The Warrior. Saggs says heads or tails they win and Warrior goes to Nastyville then loses. Knobbs says Warrior will have the shortest return in history and says he will get nastysized.
The Ultimate Warrior does a promo. He says things remain down and dirty here but he remains free of the curse of voodoo from Papa Shango. He says The Nasty's don't realize the curse will be put on them next week.
Overall thoughts: It was a notable edition of Superstars with Ric vs Sarge, Mountie using a new shock stick on Sarge, Kamala returning and Crush returning as a Hawaiian. Lots of stuff happened on this so on that note it was worth seeing. Sarge/Flair was a bump fest with the two bouncing all over the place and I liked what we got. This was better than the usual show we get but wrestling wise, there was only one non-squash. Mania was only about a month ago and it already feels like a different promotion.
