NWA Powerrr 4/8/2025

NWA Powerrr 4/8/2025

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/04/nwa-powerrr-412025.html

This is the 200th episode of NWA Powerrr.

Country Gentlemen (AJ and KC Cazana) vs Size Matters (Sam Stackhouse and Eric Smalls)

This is stupid as Smallz is a midget fighting full size wrestlers, but this is the kind of stuff the NWA does.

AJ wants a test of strength with Eric then kneels down to help him reach. Eric slaps him then dropkicks him in the knee. Eric hits a bulldog while AJ is down. Sam and KC get in.

KC is thrown around. Sam lifts Eric and Eric boots his opponents. Joe Cazana distracts Eric and KC stomps on Eric. KC stomps on Eric. Eric takes a double elbow drop. KC leg drops Eric. Eric jawbreakers him then is crossbodied.

Eric boots AJ out of the corner then tornado ddt's him. Eric enzugiri's AJ. Sam gets in and hits shots on AJ and KC. Sam hits corner splashes then misses one. Sam hits a double cutter. Sam takes his shirt off. Eric bronco busters AJ then Sam cannonballs KC in the corner. Eric does a caterpillar and does a legdrop with KC's strut on KC. Sam takes a back elbow + russian legsweep.

Eric jumps on KC's back with a sleeper. Joe gets on the apron. The ref is distracted. Eric hits Joe in the nuts. AJ facekicks Eric then powerslams him for the win.

Thoughts:
I'm not a fan of midgets fighting regular size wrestlers. It's not believable and AJ and KC having to cheat to beat them was pretty lame. I think this one was random but with how long it takes to follow up on things on this show, who knows.

We go to Kylie and Kenzie Paige's house. Their dad asays Kenzie is taking on too much. He wants to know why Hunter is wrestling Natalia Markova. Kylie says they won't let Kezie down. She says Markova is good for business.

NWA National Title - Mims (c) vs Mike Mondo

I don't know how Mike earned this shot. Mike does a headlock takeover and Mims shoulders him over. Mims hits a shot to Mike's gut. Mims' head is banged off the buckles then he shoulders Mims over. Mims hits Mike from behind and stomps him.

Mike back elbows Mims and hits chops. Mike back elbows Mims then elbow drops him. Blk Jeez distracts Mike. Mims gets the advantage and pounds on Mike. Mims hits corner spears on Mike.

Mims corner splashes Mike. Mims suplexes Mike. Mims pulls Mikes arms back. Mike spinning neckbreakers Mims. Mike hits a snapmare driver on Mims.

Mims goes for a suplex but Mike cradles him for 2. Mims boots Mike in the gut. Mims spears the post when Mike moves. Jeez gets in the ring and Mike lion tamers him. Mims then rolls up Mike from behind and wins.

Thoughts:
The ending was kind of silly here with Mike trying a submission on Jeez. The match was fine otherwise with thicker guys going at it and having a decent heavyweight match.

Aron Stevens does a video. he says it takes as much energy to wish as to plan. He says Thom Lattimer runs and is a coward in a warrior's body. He says Thom will be a forgotten warrior soon. He says the world sees Thom as strong but he knows him as weak. He says he's an unworthy champ and he's unworthy to be a man. Aron says he's concerned about Thom's scars.

He said he tried to make them go away but Thom didn't want it. We see clips of Aron doing yoga with Kyle Davis, Sam Stackhouse and Eric Smalls. He says Thom didn't give attention to what is important. He says he may be misunderstood but he's the most honest human to ever live. He says he's genuine. He asks if Thom even sleeps at night. He says his ramblings will be the prelude to Thom's self-realization soon. He says Thom is not the man he set out to be when he started this. He says Thom sits out on the mountain but his demons sit with him. He says he will set Thom free from his demons and the notion of being Thom Lattimer.

Thoughts: This was another rambling promo with Aron again talking about whatever dirt he has on Thom without revealing what it is. I really hope the eventual pay off for this is worth it because it's not working so far.

Bryan Idol talks to Natalia Markova at the gym. Idol asks if she is aware if she can't beat Hunter, she won't get a title shot again. Idol puts Hunter over and says he's guy. He says she is risking a lot. He says she will blow this for both of them and says she better be sure. Markova says she guarantees she will send a message.

Mike Knox comes out solo for his match. We are told Murdoch couldn't make it due to weather issues. Mike says Murdoch is okay and he will go take a nap at the hotel. The crowd says no and he says he's kidding. He said he didn't come here to take a nap. He says he came to punch someone in the face. He says if The Slimeballz beat him, he will give them 2 title shots.

Handicap Match - The Slimeballz get 2 title shots if they win - Mike Knox vs The Slimeballz (Sage Chance and Tommy Rant)

Knox gets the edge on Sage to start and throws him hard into the corner. Sage is thrown hard into the buckles. Knox hits corner splashes on both then throws Sage into Rant. Knox hits a big sky high on Sage and pins him.

Thoughts: Uh, this didn't accomplish a lot.

Sage gets on the mic and calls Knox a chump. He says they aren't done kicking his @ss. Knox then heads back to the ring.

Handicap Match - The Slimeballz get 2 title shots if they win - Knox vs The Slimeballz (Sage Chance and Tommy Rant)

Knox pump kicks Rant. We go to break and return. Knox whips Sage with his jacket. Knox running lariats him. Sage gets on Knox's back and Knox crossbodies Rant. Knox bladerunners Sage. Carson Drake comes out and pulls the ref out on the pin attempt. Drake hits Knox with a belt. Sage then pins Knox.

Thoughts: It was pretty much all shenanigans here. It set up a match between The Slime's and Knox and Murdoch but not much else.

We see The Southern Six at the bar. Silas says he wants to know why Kerry Morton came out and did what he did. He says he wants to know what got into his head. Ricky says Silas would have done the same thing. Silas says old carnies are always trying to tell him how it is, was or will be. Silas says the power in the Six runs through him. Ricky says Kerry didn't mean to do nothing.

Silas says Kerry cost him the ten pounds of gold and money off his table. He says Kerry has nothing to worry about if he didn't mean to do it. He says Kerry's time will come but he has to wait to become champ.

Overall thoughts: The show continues to be an odd one with them pushing intergender matches, bad finishes, matches between midgets and full-sized wrestlers, Lucha Underground style backstage vignettes and random matches. Even if the vignette's and backstage segments aren't always the best, it's how you get people to care about matches, wrestlers and storylines and I think it's the right call. I didn't like the opener as it had midgets vs full-sized wrestlers. Mims and Mondo had an okay heavyweight match with a dirty finish. We got more from Aron Stevens on Thom Lattimer, but without them telling us what is going, it's not that effective. We had lots of shenanigans in the main event as well and that wasn't much of note. I'd give this one a 4 out of 10 and thought it was a soup made up of completely different ideas that didn't quite come together in the end.

WWE NXT 4/8/2025

WWE NXT 4/8/2025

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/04/wwe-nxt-412025.html

Stephanie Vaquer is interviewed in the back. She says she will make her decision on who she fights for the title after this match.

Jordynne Grace vs Jaida Parker

JG takes her down and they pound on each other. They roll out and JG stomps her. JP's head is banged off the apron. JG gets on her back with a sleeper. JP's head is banged off the apron. JG atomic drops her then low diving forearms her.

They fight on the apron. JG is dropped throat first on the top rope. JP running headhunters her for 2. JG is laid on the 2nd rope and JP butt presses her down. We go to PiP break and return. JG reverses a tombstone and throws her backwards from the tombstone position.

They trade forearms. JP rolls out of a backslide and hip attacks her. JG goes up and over. JG drops her face first on the buckles. JG then torture rack neckbreakers her for 2.

JP misses a running hip attack then JG tries to tope her outside but gets stuck on the ropes. JP runs into Vaquer at commentary then slaps her. Vaquer tries to hit JP but hits Grace (barely). The match then either goes to a double DQ or a DQ win for Grace.

Thoughts: It was going okay then Grace missed the tope and Vaquer barely hit on the spot that caused the DQ finish. That brought this one down.

JP then hits Vaquer. Grace pounds on Vaquer. Giulia then returns. SV and Giulia go back to back. Giulia headbutts her and hits a northern lights bomb.

Swipe Right talks to Hank and Tank in the back. Swipe says they are the hottest tea in Evolve. Smokes says he heard they were going through a rough patch and were looking for advice. They say they will get bck to them after them beat Fraxiom and tell them to take notes tonight. Hank says we're not that desperate, are we?

We see The Culling talk. They say they will do anything to get the North American Title back. Shawn says he's grateful for winning the gold but says it's not the focus. He says Izzi can qualify tonight for the match at Stand and Deliver and tells her to focus on what she can achieve. Shawn tells Niko and Brooks to make sure Hank and Tank don't win tonight.

Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer and Axiom) vs Swipe Right (Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes)

Smokes dropkicks Ax off the apron to start. NF is then held for a dropkick for 2. NF is dropkicked in the back of the neck. NF spinning enzugiri's Brad. Brad takes a double team with a short ddt. Smokes takes kicks then Ax is lifted to dropkick Smokes out. Ax topes Brad and NF topes Smokes. They then hit more topes.

Smokes spears Ax off the buckles for 2. Brad springboards into a facebuster on Ax. Ax germans Brad and Corey asks if Smokes is related to Julius Smokes. Ax standing spanish flies Smokes. NF flatliners Brad into the buckles then does a ddt + reverse ddt combo. NF running ssp's Smokes for 2.

NF takes a forearm and a jumping knee then a double team twisting ddt. Smokes is stuck on the buckles and takes a top rope spanish fly. NF hits a phoenix splash on Smokes and pins him.

Thoughts: It was a very fast paced match that the crowd liked. The selling was nil here but I think it helped put Swipe Right on the map. I would have liked to have seen them debut on NXT with a win though.

Fatal Influence talk in the back. They discuss who will be in the qualifier tonight and argue about it. Jacy and Fallon both want it but Nyx says it will be here.

WWE NXT Women's North American Title Qualifier - Jazmyn Nyx vs Sol Ruca

Fatal Influence and Zaria are at ringside for this.

Nyx side headlocks her. Sol handstands out. Sol side headlocks her then flips over her. Sol jumping facebusters her. Sol suplexes Nyx then backflips into a pin attempt on her. Nyx legsweeps her.

Sol high kicks her. Nyx gets her feet up on Sol's springboard. Nyx hits boots to the gut and foot chokes her. Nyx leg lariats her then fisherman suplexes her for 2. Nyx then does an indian deathlock out of it.

Nyx PK's her for 2. Sol spinning drops her chest first. Sol hits chops then flying shoulders her. Sol does springboard shots. Sol does a backpack drop on her then running knees her for 2. Jacy argus with Zaria outside, Sol is distracted by Fallon then takes a pele kick for 2.

Sol cradles Nyx for 2. Nyx high kicks her. Sol then hits a sol snatcher and wins.

Thoughts: I liked it. It was a fast paced high flying match and the two matched up well together. It was maybe the longest Nyx singles match we have seen so far and she did well in this. I'd be up for seeing this again.

Je'Von Evans is interviewed in the back. He said he knew Dark State would be a problem and they wouldn't be in this situation if they listened to him. He said Trick and Oba tried to little bro him but he's coming for the NXT Title. He says it's Dark State tonight but it's the NXT Title at Stand and Deliver.

Giulia is interviewed outside. She says she wants a rematch at Stand and Deliver, and says there's no friends (the camera man asked why she dropped her best friend Vaquer).

Hank Walker and Tank Ledger vs The Culling (Niko Vance and Brooks Jensen)

BJ takes down Tank. Hank shoulders BJ from the side. BJ takes a sandwich double bodyblock. Hank is lifted into a butt drop on Niko. Niko takes a sandwich double bodyblock. BJ is tripped and Hank is pulled out. BJ spinning heel kicks Tank then hits mounted shots.

BJ neckbreakers Tank. Nok sleepers Tank. Tank jawbreakers him. Hank gets in beats up on BJ. Hank hits corner spears and bulldogs BJ. Hank runs around the ring and boots Niko. Hank flying back elbows BJ. Tank lariats Niko over the top. Niko sends Tank into the rails.

Hank black hole slams BJ then misses a top rope swanton. Hank takes a dominator + flying knee combo and is pinned.

Thoughts: We sadly didn't get to see much of Niko here which sucks as he would have matched up well with Hank and tank. It was a quicker one with a lot of action.

We see Ricky Saints arrive and Tank wonders what they did wrong.

Ricky Saints comes out. He says he told everyone he was here to turn this place upside down. He says he's the new N-A champ. He says he has a bitter taste in his mouth due to Ethan Page. He says his ego would be shattered if he was him too. He said Page ruined a special moment of his and he wants to discuss it.

Lexis King comes out. He says he has the Heritage Cup but loves gold. Eddy Thorpe comes out. Eddy says he has had his sights set on the wrong place as the N-A Title represents the land of his people. He says the land was stolen from his ancestors and says it's his birthright. Wes Lee comes out with Dupont and Igwe. Wes says he's overdo for having gold around his waist.

Eddy calls King a "greedy White man" in a racist moment. Saints interrupts then Page cutters him. Page, King, Wes and Eddy fight over the N-A Title. They fight outside and Wes dives on them.

Ava, Robert Stone, Stephanie Vaquer and Stevie Turner talk in the back. Steph says she wants all of the girls from earlier in a match, so it'll be a 4-way for the Women's title with Vaquer vs Grace vs Parker vs Giulia.

Trick Williams is interviewed. He says someone gets in the way everytime he is about to get his. He says he's leaving Stand and Deliver with the title around his waist. He says he's concerned about Dark State. He says Oba and Evans need to be on their a-game tonight, but he will whip both at Stand and Deliver.

Wes Lee vs Yoshiki Inamura

Wes dives on YI as he enters. YI drives him into the apron. Wes pump kicks YI and hits shots to the gut. YI shoulders him over. Wes hits a hard forearm. YI chops him in the ribs and hits a hard forearm back. Wes upkicks YI.

Wes slingshot flips into a butt drop on YI. Wes misses a top rope 450 and YI hits a big back body drop. YI hits chest palm stikes then chops. YI fisherman suplexes Wes for 2. YI is tripped into the buckles and hit from behind.

Wes topes Briggs while Briggs tries to help YI. Wes is caught on a top rope crossbody and takes a spinning slam. YI is supposed to get knocked off the top but just falls off on his own. Wes cardiac kicks YI.

Thoughts: It was a shorter one where YI messed up the finish. The two worked okay otherwise though and YI is starting to get over on his own.

Oba Femi talks about Dark State. He said he didn't forget what they did at Vengeance Day. He said they hit him with their best and last shot and didn't put him down. He says Evans and Trick will get the same chance soon and they will suffer the same fate Dark State does.

WWE NXT Women's North American Title Qualifier - Izzi Dame vs Wren Sinclair

Izzi drives her in the corner and hits corner spears. Izzi short arm lariats her. Wren flying crossbodies her. Izzi stops an up and over and is rolled. Wren  tries for an octopus then Izzi boots her over. Izzi slams her then basement dropkicks her.

Izzi hits mounted shots. Izzi arm and chinlocks her. Shawn Spears watches in the back. Wren hits forearms. Izi knees her in the gut. Izzi misses a corner charge and takes chops. Wren flying lariats her then bangs her head off the mat for 2.

Izzi catches her crossbody. Wren crucifixes her for 2. Izzi hits a sky high, completely lets go at 2 and the ref counts the pin.

Thoughts:
The finish got botched here bad. I've never really seen that botch happen that way before and that brought down whatever good this accomplished. It was a one-sided match and here was no reason to expect a Wren win here.

Lash Legend, Jakara Jackson, Perez and Fatal Influence talk to Ava about a possible last chance qualifier. Ava says there won't be one. Perez says she deserves to be in it as a former champ. Ava says she has an idea for Stand and Deliver. Perez says it better not be a tag match as she doesn't have a partner.

Andre Chase talks to Uriah Connors and Kale Dixon in the back. Chase tries to coach them as they watch a match of theirs.

Hank and Tank are mad about their loss in the back. The Street Profits walk in. They say there will be ups and downs. Ford says they have been watching them and says they are trying to be a team that they aren't. Ford says to lean on each other and stick to who they are. Dawkins says the same thing. Dawkins says they might be rewarded for it and says there's a tag team gauntlet for a title shot at Stand and Deliver. They then hype them up.

Trick Williams, Oba Femi and Je'Von Evans vs Dark State (Cutler James, Dion Leennox and Saquon Shugars)

DS attack 4v3 before it starts. Dion pounds on Oba and bangs his head off the buckles. Oba takes corner attacks and a big lariat from Cutler. Trick rolls up Shugars for 2 and Shugars does the same. Shugars pulls Trick down by the hair and Trick arm throws him. Trick jumping neckbreakers him.

Trick uppercuts Cutler then Cutler lariats him for 2. Cutler slams Trick then Trick enzugiri's him from the mat. Trick back body drops Shugars. Trick suplexes Shugars for 2. Shugars hits chops on Trick then Trick chops back.

Trick slams Shugars. Evans gets in and flying headscissors Shugars. He spinebusters him and hits mounted shots. Evans double stomps him. Evans superkicks Cutler then seated springboard headscissors Shugars. Evans hits dropkicks then Cutler takes a double lariat over the top.

The two sides square off on the apron and in the ring. We go to PiP break and return. Evans crossbodies Shugars for 2. Evans is lariated by Cutler from the apron. Cutler chinlcoks Evans then clubs on him. Cutler slams Evans for 2.

Dion spinebusters Evans. Dionx spinebusters Evans for 2 then slams Shugars on Evans. Shugars misses an elbow drop on Evans. Evans bodypresses Dion then step up enzugiri's him. Trick and Oba fight for the tag and Oba knocks Trick's hand away. Oba cleans house on the heels and overhead throws Shugars. Dion takes a spinebuster. Oba throws Shugars into Trick and knocks Trick over.

Oba spinebsuters Dion. Trick and Oba argue. Evans yells at them. Evans is tagged in then Oba and Trick fight. The two lariat each other over the top. Evans hits a top rope splash on Dion for 2.

Evans goes to springboard but Shugars pulls the ropes down. Oba and Trick fight outside. Evans is popped up and Shugars comes off the top to press him down like a powerbomb. Evans is then pinned.

Thoughts
: Trick and Oba fought as expected here and cost Evans the match. It wasn't a classic but this served its purpose and it was acceptable. I think Dion and Cutler are miscast in this role and I'm curious how long they last.

Stacks gets on the tron after. He says it's fine if they want to cause chaos and challenges them to meet in the parking lot next week. He says they will find out that messing with The Family has severe consequences.

Overall thoughts: We had 3 messed up finishing stretches here which wasn't good. Other than that, there was a lot going on and not necessarily enough time for it all. Sol/Nyx was a lot better than expected and Nyx is starting to show that she can get things done as a singles act. Inamura is getting over as is Swipe Right. I liked the show overall but they just had a bad night with finishes here. I would give this one a 6 out of 10.

TNA Xplosion 4/4/2025

TNA Xplosion 4/4/2025

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/04/tna-xplosion-3282025.html

Around the Ring with Gia Miller

AJ Francis is this week's guest. She asks why there's no girls in First Class. He offers her a spot but says he takes an 80% cut. He says there's a different vibe in the First Class Penthouse. He says the card for guests doesn't even get you in the penthouse and says security sends you back down if you find a way up.

Gia and AJ say they match. AJ says he's the most stylish man in TNA. He says he does things at a different level. Gia says her birthday is coming up but says AJ's presence is the gift. She says it's her sixth 21st birthday.

AJ talks about shaving his head for the first time. He says he only has to do it once a week and it takes 10 minutes. AJ says he's going to Hawaii for his birthday and Gia talks about Boca Raton.

Dani Luna vs Maggie Lee

Dani wristlocks her and side headlock takeovers her. Lee tries a pin off of it. Dani shoulders her over for 2. Lee high kicks her from the apron then drive by kicks her while she's on the ropes for 2. Dani overhead suplexes Lee then sliding lariats her for 2.

George Iceman comes out then Lee pump kicks Dani. Lee hits a cradle shock for 2. Lee hits a hip attack for 2. Lee pulls Dani's arms back. Dani suplexes her. Dani hits lariats. Dani then hits a slingshot blue thunder for 2.

Dani boots her out of the corner. Lee pump kicks her while she's on the buckles. Lee misses a top rope moonsault. Dani flying kicks her then hits a luna landing for the win.

Thoughts: Lee didn't hit her kicks clean here which was a problem since that was most of her offense in this one. It was a cold and random match so it was only going to achieve so much to begin with and I just thought it was average.

Overall thoughts: There was only one new match and one new interview as usual. Neither is really worth checking out and I wouldn't recommend this one.

WWF Wrestling at The Chase 1/1/1984

WWF Wrestling at The Chase 1/1/1984

Vince McMahon and Mean Gene Okerlund are our hosts. We are in St. Louis. Hulk Hogan, David Schultz and Ivan Putski will be on the show.

Rocky Johnson and Tony Atlas vs Dennis Stamp and Jerry Valiant

The announcer screws up the intros and says Stamp and Jerry are facing each other. Rocky and DS go at it. Rocky side headlocks him and shoulders him over. Rocky side headlock takeovers him. Rocky shoulders DS over then dropkicks him. Rocky armlocks him and Jerry breaks it up. DS chokes Rocky.

Jerry clubs on Rocky then drops him with a punch. Jerry hits some stomps then punches him out of the headlock. Rocky fights back with punches. Jerry side headlocks him and hits punches. Jerry shoulders him over. Rocky leapfrogs him then flying headscissors him down.

Tony double knucklelocks Jerry then DS gets in. Tony hiptosses him then does a flying headscissors. DS tries to handstand out. Tony monkey flips him then hits armdrags. DS then rolls out to stall.

Jerry hits punches to the gut of Tony then chinlcoks him. Jerry pulls him down by the tights. Jerry's head is banged off the buckles. Tony backs him up then headbutts him. Jerry is stuck in the ropes. DS is thrown into him.

DR and Jerry's heads are banged together. Rocky elbows DS on the top of the head. Tony gorilla press slams DS. Rocky then splashes DS to pin him.

Thoughts:
It got a lot of time and wasn't bad. It was mostly a squash but the jobbers got some offense in at least.

"Dr. D" David Schultz vs Ken Jugan

DS side headlocks him. Ken backs him up on the ropes and DS shoves him back. DS side headlocks him. Ken hits him on the ropes and DS wags his finger at him. DS waistlock takedowns him and rides him. DS hits punches then does a double throat thrust. DS then elbow drops him.

DS suplexes him then elbow drops him. DS pulls him up on the pin attempt and throws him out. DS pulls Ken's throat down over the top. DS backbreakers him. DS then hits a neckbreaker. DS puts him in tree of woe. DS clubs on Ken and knees him while he's on the apron. Ken hits weak shots to the gut. DS then tombstones him (Gene calls it a southern piledriver) and wins.

Thoughts: It was a long one and I thought it was boring. The crowd really liked Schultz though.

Hulk Hogan vs Bill Dixon

This is Hulk Hogan's return to the WWF. He comes out to Eye of The Tiger.

Hulk pushes Bill away off the lock-up. Bill side headlocks him. Hulk shoulders him over. Bill headlocks him but is sat on the top rope. Hulk trips him and takes him down by the arm. Hulk then does another arm takedown into an armbar.

Bill eye rakes him and double axe handles him. Bill bangs Hulk's head off the buckles. Hulk bangs Bill's head off the buckles and running back elbows him. Hulk hits a big boot then running lariats him. Hulk slams him and hits the legdrop to win.

Thoughts: It was interesting. Hulk was doing his Japanese moveset here and you only saw pieces of what would later become his typical offense. Hulk also oddly took some abuse from Bill which would never have happened a year or two later.

Mean Gene interviews Barry Baker who is the vice president of the channel this is on - KPLR. He talks about the commitment with "Titan Sports" and says he's looking forward to this lasting for a few years. Gene says it's a new year. Barry thanks them for coming.

Mean Gene interviews Hulk Hogan. They talk about the upcoming $50,000 battle royale in LA. Hulk says every time he comes to St. Louis, he whoops them. Hulk says he got his first victory in the WWF and wants to win the battle royal. He says he might press the whole ring over his head if he was in it. He says he wants the world title shot so he can become WWF champ.

Hulk says that will put him at the top of the ladder. He says he will be the #1 contender all over the world.

Adrian Adonis and Dick Murdoch are interviewed. Adonis says they are The North-South Connection are after two squirrels in Atlas and Johnson. He says they will shake them out of the tree and move over because they will make a splash. They say they say they should have stopped Adonis and Murdoch here in Missouri. Murdoch says Missouri makes him sick and says something about Hulk that we can't hear.

Tony Atlas and Rocky Johnson are interviewed. Rocky says St. Louis is their home away from home and they aren't strangers here. They say they will do everything in their power to stay champs. Tony says Rocky did the talking and says everything will be proven in the ring.

Mad Dog Managoff and Big John Studd are interviewed. Studd says when you are his size and you control the wrestling world, you think you have it all. He says he made the smartest move and got Mad Dog Managoff as his manager. He says he wants the title and says no man can slam him, yet alone pin him. Gene asks what Mad Dog will do for him but we cut away.

Big John Studd vs Jimmy Jackson

They keep calling Mad Dog Maganoff, "Maggon Maganoff". Jim tries to slam him but is pushed down. Jim goes for the top wristlock but is pushed down. John hits a nice back elbow then hits corner bodyblocks. John shoulders him over then hiptosses him.

John snapmares him then hits a big slam. Studd backbreakers him over the shoulder and Jim taps out.

Thoughts: It was a simple squash but John looked good here.

Ivan Putski vs Bill Berger

They lock up and let go. Bill full-nelsons him. Ivan breaks it up. Bill side headlocks him then Ivan throws him down. Ivan does some hiptosses and Bill goes out to recover. Ivan side headlocks him.

Bill eye rakes him and clubs on him. Ivan chops him then throws him out. Ivan hits a flurry of shots on him. Ivan then hits a polish hammer and wins.

Thoughts: I liked Ivan firing up at the end but he didn't do much else of note here and didn't impress otherwise.

Adrian Adonis and Dick Murdoch vs Terry Daniels and Kevin Collins

Adonis takes him down and taunts him. Terry hits armdrags. Adonis knees him in the gut and throws him hard into the 2nd rope. Dick then pulls out Terry from the outside and him and Adonis hit elbows. Terry's head is banged off a table. Dick then punches him outside.

Dick elbows Terry in the head and face. Dick knee drops Terry and stomps his face. Terry takes a nice back body drop. Dick slams him then Terry takes a double elbow drop. Adonis hits a big atomic drop on Terry.

Adonis boots Kevin in the gut. Dick stomps Kevin. Kevin takes a backbreaker + 2nd rope knee drop. Kevin takes a double back elbow. Adonis sleepers Kevin and puts him out quick to win.

Thoughts:
It was a good squash. Dick looked like one of the most dangerous dudes on the planet and him and Adonis looked like natural partners. The jobbers did a good job selling for them too.

Mad Dog Maganoff their holds up their arms after.

Overall thoughts: It was all squashes here. I liked the Adonis and Murdoch squash and Hulk's was interest as well. Schultz's match and Johnson's/Atlas' match went too long. This notably had the first match of Hulk Hogan upon his return to the WWF, so it was historically important. It was interesting to see this one as it looked completely different from other WWF shows and felt like a bizarro world WWF show. I think it's worth seeing just because it's something different and because it ends up being a historically important show.

WWE Monday Night Raw 4/7/2025

WWE Monday Night Raw 4/7/2025

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/03/wwe-monday-night-raw-3312025.html

We are in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Pat McAfee and Michael Cole are on fury.

We see various wrestlers arrive.

Adam Pearce is in the ring with the Women's Title. Iyo Sky and Bianca Belair come out. Rhea Ripley then comes out. Adam says he was wrong to have that match last week and says he was wrongto assume they could handle things as professionals. Adam announces that Mania will be a 3-way for the title.

Bianca says it would have made her mad 3 weeks ago. She says she doesn't care as Rhea isn't going anywhere and she's not scare of her. Bianca tells Rhea to sign the contract and says she wants her in the match. Iyo tries to break it up and is pushed aside. Iyo springboard dropkicks them into each other.

Thoughts: This whole thing is dumb as Rhea didn't win her way here while Bianca did yet she gets a title match too. Every wrestler who doesn't try to pull what Rhea did here moving forward is an idiot.

We go to The Judgment Day in the back. Finn is happy about the 3-way at Mania. Finn says the more the merrier. Liv says they have 2 members of Judgment Day fighting for the IC Title. She says they have double the chances to bring the IC Title back and says it doesn't matter who wins. Finn says everyone says Dom is a loser who doesn't believe in himself, but he believes in him. Carlito says he has Dom's back.

WWE Women's Intercontinental Title - Lyra Valkyria (c) vs Bayley

Lyra rolls her up. Bay trips her. Lyra takes her down by the arm. Bay side headlocks her. Bay rolls her up for 2. Bay then gets another 2 count. Bay knees her in the face. Bay botches a sunset bomb and Lyra gets a 2 count on her.

Lyra legsweeps her and basement dropkicks her. Lyra northern lights suplexes her for 2. Lyra does a rocking horse on her and gets a 2 count. Lyra misses a kick, Bay goes out then is dropkicked through the ropes.

Lyra top rope crossbodies her for 2. We go to break and return. Lyra boots her away. Lyra takes a stunner over the 2nd rope. Bay baseball slides her under the bottom rope. Bay misses a tope and dives on the floor. Bay catches her dropkick through the ropes and belly to belly suplexes her on the floor.

Lyra hits a doctor bomb for 2. Bay running knees her for 2. Bay sunset bombs her into the buckles. Lyra tornado ddt's her and fisherman suplexes her. Lyra is caught trying to do a dropkick off the buckles. Bay crabs her but lets go. Lyra then jack knifes her and pins her as Cole calls it an instant classic.

Thoughts: Bay still botched here and it had some sloppy moments but it was a better match than Bayley has been having. It's clear they are going with a losing streak gimmick for Bayley that is likely going to end up turning her heel.

Bay slaps Lyra's hand away then hugs her. Bay then holds her arm up.

Some comedian named Bert Kreischer is interviewed. American Made comes up to him. Chad says he's not competing but The Creed's and Grande Americano will take down The LWO. Bert says he didn't come to see them then Otis and Alpha Academy come in. Otis and Bert then rip their shirts off.

AJ Styles is interviewed. He says he gets the opportunity to beat Logan Paul as you can't be experience. Karrion Kross walks in and asked how it helped him last week. Kross says he wants to help him and he wants the AJ that can get the job done. Kross says if AJ loses we all lose and we need it. AJ says he'll give him a taste of the other side of AJ next week on Raw in a match.

American Made (Julius and Brutus Creed) and El Grande Americano vs The LWO (Dragon Lee, Joaquin Wilde and Cruz del Toro)

BC = Brutus Creed, JC = Julius Creed, JW = Joaquin Wilde

BC double leg takedowns Cruz. Cruz snapmares him then BC shoulders him over. Cruz armdrags JC then JC takesa double back elbow. JW is hiptossed into the ropes into a splash on JC.

JW spinning reverse headscissors JC. JW does a flying armbar. The LWO hit triple corner attacks then corner dropkicks. The LWO then do triple tope con hilos. American Made then do 3 superplexes. We go to break and return.

Lee boots JC out of the corner. JC get stuck in tree of woe and Lee top rope double stomps him. Cruz crossbodies and lariats BC. Cruz then flying headscissors him. JC is popped up and hurricanrana's JC. Cruz twisting suplexes BC.

Cruz top rope swantons BC then rolls into a tope on JC. Grande is put in the electric chair but hits a spanish fly kind of off of it. Cruz is knocked out. Lee htis a sit out powerbomb then JC top rope ssp's Lee. JW jumps off Cruz and JC's back then flip dives outside. Cruz walks up the buckles and tornillos JC.

Ivy Nile gives Grande a weapon. He loads his mask and Rey Mysterio calls him on it. Grande headbutts Rey with the loaded mask. Lee tries to pull off Grande's mask. Grande headbutts him and hits a flying headbutt to win.

Thoughts: It was good. I liked the loaded mask spot which we haven't seen for a long time. Cruz and JC looked like they took some hard bumps here and maybe got hurt. This was as good as it could be though with lots of lying.

Gunther comes out to talk but Jey Uso comes out before he can anything. Jey comes through the crowd and isn't yeeting. Jey slaps the mic out of Gun's hand. Jey says Gun has a mom. He asks if he talks to her and what they talk about. Jey says he had to tell his mom her oldest sign is in the hospital and has stitches. Jey says, "Why didn't your protect him Joshua?". He says he told her he was afraid of Gun.

Jey says Gun knows how he feels about his family. He says he never felt so angry, disrespected and scared when Gun violated his brother. Jey said a lightbulb went off. He said he realized he's not afraid of him no more. Jey tells Gun to tell his family he loves him and he says he pray for forgiveness for the man he is becoming. He says he will get him and take the title.

Thoughts: It was a good promo and one of Jey's best promos yet. I don't know if it's enough though.

Adam Pearce, Natalya and Maxxine Duprii talk in the back. Nat is concerned about teaming with her in a gauntlet match but Adam tells them to go for it. Rey Mysterio walks in. Adam says he will give him a match with Chad Gable. Rey says he wants the man who is making a mockery of lucha and it's El Grande Americano. He wants to expose him for the fraud he is. He asks if he can pick where he wants to face him and it's Wrestlemania.

World Tag Titles - The War Raiders (Erik and Ivar) vs The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods)

Tony Hinchcliffe is on commentary for this. He's a comedian.

Kofi leapfrogs Ivar. Ivar shoulders him over. Kofi slides out to stall. Woods hits Erik from behind and stomps on him. Erik hits a double lariat. Ivar side slams Kofi then low crossbodies him. Kofi goes up and over Erik then Erik slams him. Erik slams Woods and Ivar slams Kofi. Ivar is then slammed onto Kofi. Woods is thrown over the top.

Woods grabs a chair but Erik punches him. Ivar crossbodies Woods against the rails. We go to break and return. Ivar butt drops Woods in the corner. Erik overhead suplexes Kofi. He tilt-a-whirl gutbusters Woods. Erik uranages Kofi. Kofi takes war machine for 2. Woods brings a chair in, Ivar grapples for it then hits him with it. Ivar is then DQ'd.

Thoughts: It was short. What we got was okay but the finish was lame and it wasn't as good as it should have been. Tony was not good on commentary.

Kofi chairs Ivar after. Erik pounds on Kofi. Erik is sent into a chair between the ropes. Ivar is sent over the rail.

Security and officials then stop Erik from maybe getting stomped into a chair.

Penta vs Dominik Mysterio

Dom is backed up in the corner and pushes Penta. They trade waistlocks and chops. Dom hits mounted forearms. Dom hits a corner splash. Dom clubs on Penta then hits shots and spears to the gut. Penta flying headscissors Dom. Penta tilt-a-whirl backbreakers him then slingblade bulldogs him. Penta dives off the top onto Dom and Carlito outside.

We go to break and return. Penta is kicked coming off the buckles. Dom hits three amigos for 2. Dom dropkicks him in the knee then is superkicked. Penta enzugiri's him in the corner. Penta handstand pendulum double boots him for 2. Dom hits a canadian destroyer then dropkicks Penta out. Dom 619's Penta. Dom goes for a top rope splash but Penta gets his knees up. Penta arm cranks Dom then hits  made in Japan for the win.

Thoughts: They had some sloppy moments here and didn't hit a lot of stuff clean. This really wasn't anything too special and didn't get a lot of time.

Carlito attacks Penta after then backcrackers him. Penta is stomped on then Bron Breakker comes out. Bron takes Carlito out. Bron then hits a big spear on Dom. Bron then spears Penta.

Bron holds his title up and Finn hits a final cut on him from behind. Finn holds the title up but then avoids a spear.

Paul Heyman comes out to talk. He says he will always be loyal to Roman Reigns and Punk. He says it doesn't mean he will disloyal to either though.

Seth Rollins comes down to the ring. He introduces himself. He says it's not about him though, it's about Paul Heyman. Seth asks Paul whose side he is on? Seth says Roman doesn't give a d@mn about Paul. He says Roman uses him to order his food and shine his shoes. He says Roman doesn't respect Paul. He says Roman disappeared after losing his title and didn't take Roman with him but left him with Solo Sikoa.

Seth asks if Roman rescued him and Paul shakes his head "no". Seth said Roman let Paul get massacred in his hometown in front of his kids. He says Punk didn't rescue Paul either. Seth says Punk walked out on Paul 10 years ago too.

Seth says he was the first choice for Team Roman on Wargames, not Punk. He says Punk only joined to get a favor out of Paul. Seth says he feels bad for Paul as he's in a difficult position. He says the easiest solution is for Paul to stay out of it but he can't and won't. Seth says he could remove him from the situation for his own good, right now.

Seth offers to curbstomp him and says no one is here to save him. Seth pokes and slaps Paul and asks how much he is worth. He grabs him and Paul says not to put his hands on him again. Seth backs him up in the corner. CM Punk comes out.

Punk fights Seth. Seth is sent over the commentary table and they knock down the Prime Hydration Station. Seth is sent into the steps. Punk then is curbstomped in the ring. Seth goes to curbstomp Paul but doesn't. He then says he owes him a favor.

Overall thoughts: It was fine but not one of my favorite Raw's. Penta/Dom wasn't that good. Lyra/Bayley was good at times but had issues. New Day/War Raiders was shorter. The trios match was good. I liked the Jey/Gunther segment. The Rhea/Iyo/Bianca segment wasn't good. I'd give it a 6 out of 10 overall but it was not a star studded show and I thought they could have done better with this.

WWE LFG 4/6/2025 Episode 8

WWE LFG 4/6/2025 Episode 8

Booker challenges Chris Island to a push-up contest in front of everyone. Chris wins and Booker says he hurt his shoulder doing it.

Shawn Michaels greets the wrestlers and says we are at the half-way point. The coaches are asked who their front runners are. Bubba says Zena. Booker says Jasper Troy. Mickie picks Chris. Undertaker says his team needs work and everyone needs to step up. Tyra says that's why she chose Taker as the coach.

Diamond Dallas Page is this week's guest. He says he didn't become a wrestler until he was 35 and his career didn't take off until he was 40. He credits his career taking off with the diamond cutter. He says whoever has the best signature move wins the challenge this week.

Chris wants to do a gutwrench into a go to sleep. Sirena wants a match tonight to show what she's capable of after her bad debut.

Bubba punches Cutler and tells him to take a bump when he feels the impact. He fails to then Bubba tells him to do it again. He says the punch is a finish. Drake wants to do a frog splash and Bubba tells him to do his dance while he's up there. Cutler wants to do an uppercut called "The Uppercutler".

Leigh came up with a tiger feint into a corkscrew kick. Booker says it won't work as there's not a lot of ways you can do it. Booker then gets her to do a powerslam. Shiloh wants to hit people with a keyboard and ddt them. Taker asks where he will get the keyboard from.

Chris wants to do a finisher based off of an old NXT guy named Kal Jak who had to retire. Mickie says she's on the fence but he sold her on it. Sirena wants to do Molly Holly's molly-go-round and asks permission for it. Molly says you need a gymnastics background and says it can be dangerous. She says she wants to make sure she can do it safe first.

Bayley wants to do a head squeeze then throw her opponent down chest first. Taker puts his wife Michelle McCool over. Booker makes jokes about it. Anthony Luke wants to do a backdrop lifting type of move.

Elijah wants to do an uppercut. DDP wants to see where it goes but Taker says Shiloh lost one tooth already.

We see Sirena practice the molly-go-round. Zena wants to do a tilt-a-whirl sideslam. Bubba says she can't hold her well enough. Bubba says Zena isn't generating enough momentum. Bubba wants to her to do it on Dani but she can't and Bubba says she's useless. Chris takes offense to to this.

We go to break and return. Bubba says Chris doesn't understand his sense of humor as he calls Mickie over for this. Chris says he will stand up for Dani anywhere. Bubba then rips him and says not to get involved in others business. Mickie says Chris did just fine.

Bubba says she likes Cutler's and Zena's finishers. Booker says Leigh needs to get the job done and says it's time for Anthony to show what a signature move looks like.

Cutler James vs Anthony Luke

Booer says Luke looks like a big baby. There is no crowd for this, just people from the show.

They lock up. CJ backs up Luke on the ropes and is headlocked. Luke pokes him in the eye then puts the headlock back on. CJ reverses the hold then waistlock takedowns him. CJ side headlock takeovers him.

CJ side headlocks him. Luke hits punches in the corner then CJ hits shots. CJ slams him. Luke backslides him then knocks him over for 2. Luke hits mounted punches. Luke does a dance and CJ rolls on him. Luke hits a flying kick for 2.

CJ is sent hard into the buckles. CJ hits punches and is knee'd in the gut. CJ short arm lariats him. CJ hits back elbows, a corner spear and a lariat. We go to break and return. CJ winds up and hits his uppercut. Luke does a big sell for it but kicks out. Luke then basically hits an ore ga Taue and wins.

Thoughts:
It wasn't that interesting. Cutler is just so generic and unexciting. I didn't like Cutler getting his finisher kicked out of.

Booker says Luke made him proud. Bubba says Cutler made him proud and tried to give it flavor. DDP says it went long but they reacted so maybe it wasn't too long.

Zena Sterling vs Leigh Laurel

Mickie says she likes Zena's blue dress outfit more than her outfit last week.

They lock up. Zena wristlocks her. LL rolls out then Zena takes her down by the arm. Zena yanks on the arm. LL clubs on her then is lariated. LL I guess blocks her tilt-a-whirl side slam. Zena rolls her up for 2.

Zena drops down to tie her shoe then trips her with her foot. Zena then armlocks her. Taker pops for it. Zena's arm is pulled over the 2nd rope.

LL pushes her. LL slams her for 2. Zena makes her comeback and backdrops her. Zena backsplashes her then hits her tilt-a-whirl sideslam to win.

Thoughts: Zena sold a ton here and Mickie pointed it out. The coaches put Zena over and I agreed as Zena sells well, looks good and has personality.

Bubba puts over Leigh's gear, which I agree with. He says Zena impresses her. Booker wants to LL to lay it in more and says she did okay but could have done better. Taker says Leigh looks great in her gear but she should be tired of hearing it. She says she doesn't have the energy to match her look. Leigh cries. Mickie asks if she's okay.

We go to break and return. Leigh says she just wanted to make sure she had a safe match and said she had the wind knocked out of her. DDP says the legends have failed a million times and that's what makes them be them.

Taker says we need to say a prayer for the next match as it could be good or a train wreck. Taker says they have heat and Bubba says Chris has a big mouth.

Chris Island vs Elijah Holyfield

Bubba says Elijah looks like Clubber Lang. Taker rips them for wearing jewelry in the ring.

They lock-up. CI slides out of a punch. CI hits fireman carry takeovers and side headlocks Eli. CI side headlock takeovers him. CI shoulders Eli over. Eli hiptosses him twice.

Eli hits corner spears and corner punches. Eli beale throws CI. Eli hits a stiff corner spear. Eli then hits his uppercut for 2. CI hits punches on Eli Eli knees him in the gut then CI flying shoulders him.

CI hits lariats and slams him. CI then does a tilt-a-whirl into a knee to the head.

Thoughts: It wasn't a bad. A little simple at times but both guys did their stuff well. Chris can move and Eli really does move like some kind of tough boxer would.

We go to break and return. Taker says he would rip their jewelery out and was distracted. Bubba agrees. Bubba says Chris was rude and disrespectful earlier. He tells him to smarten up or he has a target on his back for the rest of the competition. Bubba says he did a good job. DDP agrees and says Chris brought it.

Mickie does a prayer for the next match. Taker says Sirena trying to do a molly-go-round could go south real quick.

Sirena Linton vs Bayley Humphrey

They lock up. Bay pushes Sirena out and she hits her head on the floor. Bubba asks if Sirena is okay. Bay corner spears her then rams her in the corner. Bay puts her on her shoulder. Sirena bulldogs her.

Sirena goes up top and we go to break. Sirean hits a perfect molly-go-round for 2 and Bubba's mouth is wide open. Sirena then hits chops.

Bay catches her crossbody and slams her. Bay does her head crush then pop-up drops her on her chest and gut to win.

Thoughts: What we saw of this was short. Sirena took a bad fall out of the ring but at least she hit her finisher clean. They had the right idea here.

Mickie says she's proud of Sirena. Taker says what they saw was incredible. Taker says he can't be mean. He says he couldn't be more proud. DDP says Bayley was scary and he tells both to give themselves a self high five. Bubba says they had a tale of both matches and says all anyone remembers is the finish. Bubba then offers a high five while she wants a hug. Bubba then gives her a hug.

Molly says Sirena made her proud and says she can use the move.

The judges then award points. Booker gives Anthony Luke a point. Mickie says she will be biased and gives it to Sirena. Taker says Elijah did the task best today. Bubba says Elijah, Cutler, Luke and Chris stepped forward today. DDP says Anthony Luke caught him off of guard in a good way and then puts over Sirena, giving both points.

The standings are:

Team Undertaker and Team Booker - 5 points

Team Mickie - 3 points

Team Bubba - 1 point

Bayley says it's time to shine. Chris says he hears good things about his matches then doesn't get the point. Sirena says it feels good to get a point.

D'Von Dudley is the guest next week.

Overall thoughts: It was a more wrestling based episode so it was better than some of the others. We're still not seeing full matches in front of real crowds and they are working a feud between Bubba and Chris. It was fine and one of the more enjoyable episodes so far, but you aren't missing a ton if you don't see it.

AEW Dynasty 2025 4/6/2025

AEW Dynasty 2025 4/6/2025

We are in Philadelphia, PA.

Men's Owen Hart Cup Tournament Quarterfinal - Will Ospreay vs Kevin Knight

Will won with a hidden blade. Some of the big moments were: Will sat on top and KK jumped up from the mat to hurricanrana him. Will went for a styles clash on the ramp and KK ddt'd him there. KK springboard lariated Will on the outside. Will was swinging him into a powerbomb position then KK hurricanrana'd him. Will went for an os cutter and was dropkicked in mid-air. KK then hit a top rope 180 splash for 2. KK did a springboard and was caught with a cutter. Will then hit a styles clash and os cutter for 2. Will then hit a hidden blade and win.

Thoughts: They didn't go too overboard with this and did a lot of flying as expected. I expected KK to get more in than he got. It was acceptable for what it was. The winner was never in doubt here as there was no way Will was losing this.

AEW Tag Titles - The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin) vs The Learning Tree (Big Bill and Bryan Keith)

Bill and Bobby lock up. SB gets in and Bill hits shots on both opponents. Bobby and SB are lariated over the top. SB step up knees Bill while he's on the apron. Bobby hits corner spears on Bill. Bill slams SB then BK knee drops SB for 2. SB lariats BK.

SB germans BK in the ring. Bobby spears BK and SB gets the pin.

Thoughts: It was okay. I thought it was a bit one-sided and it didn't feel like Bill and BK got enough in here to really be bought as contenders. They definitely needed some kind of big spot in this that they didn't get.

Women's Owen Hart Cup Tournament Quarterfinal - Mercedes Mone vs Julia Hart

Hart is pushed into the ropes and cartwheels. Hart flips over her then flying headscissors Mone. Mone drives Hart into the buckles. Harley Cameron is watching in the back. Hart is put in tree of woe and stomped on.

Hart tries a top rope moonsault. Mone tries to boot her while she does it but she didn't really hit it. Mone hits backcrackers. Hart does a bad crucifix bomb for 2.

Hart puts her in heartless but Mone rolls her up for 2. Mone crossfaces her. Hart rolls her up for 2 then Mone pins her.

Thoughts: It wasn't good. They had a lot of sloppy and missed spots here and the finish fell flat. I also thought this went longer than it needed to. There was also little reason to suspect that Hart was winning here.

AEW World Trios Title - The Death Riders (PAC, Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta) vs Rated FTR (Cope, Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood)

Pac and Dax go at it. Dax is shouldered over. Pac rolls him up for 2 and bridgesh im for 2. Pac water wheel drops him and goes for the brutalizer. Yuta and Cope go at it. Cash slingshot shoulderblocks Yuta. Yuta takes a double flapjack as does Pac. CC runs into Dax's punches. Cash 2nd rope slams CC. Dax lariats Yuta over the top. Cash topes CC outside. Cash is pushed off the top into a CC euro. Pac stomps Cash.

CC is sent into the rails outside. Yuta then takes a shatter machine. Cope spears Yuta for 2. Dax tries to suplex Pac over the top and goes with him. Cope spears CC on the floor.

Cope is pushed into Dax. Yuta flying knees Dax and wins.

Thoughts: The match was alright but not a classic. It had fast paced action with lots of people coming in and out. I didn't think it would hurt if The Riders lost but The Riders winning fit better with Dax's story a the moment.

The faces hug after. Dax then piledrivers Cope. Dax wants to conchairto Cope and gives Cash a chair. Cash pushes Dax over. Cash then helps Dax do a shatter machine to Cope. Cope then takes a spike piledriver on a chair. Cash conchairto's Cope twice.

Cash puts the neck brace on and Dax pretends to give chest pumps to Cash on the stretcher. Dax then tips the stretcher over. Cope is then wheeled out on the stretcher.

Thoughts: I was a bit surprised by this. I figured FTR wouldn't turn on each other as they'd be useless as singles wrestlers. I'm curious as to who teams with Cope to get revenge on FTR. I'm not sure how much staying power FTR have as heels though in AEW, which is a heel heavy promotion.

AEW Women's Title - Toni Storm (c) vs Megan Bayne

Penelope Ford is with MB. Toni had a mini video for her entrance with her running around, showering and yelling in her bed. I think this was a Rocky inspired video. Toni and Luther then wear some boxing attire.

MB pushes Toni off the lock up. MB shoulders her over. Toni is caught on a crossbody. Toni 2nd rope twisting crossbodies her. Toni hits leg kicks then MB overhead exploders her.

Toni corner hip attacks MB. Toni hits another hip attack then hits storm zero for 1. MB hits lariats. MB sitout powerbombs her. MB goes for an F-5 and Toni cradles her and wins.

Thoughts: The selling wasn't much as expected. Meg nearly got decapitated on the 2nd rope german. I didn't like Meg losing but I'm not surprised. Toni just won the title and wasn't losing here. I'm not sure what you do with Meg now though.

Men's Owen Hart Cup Tournament Quarterfinal - Kyle Fletcher vs Mark Briscoe

Kyle wore pink here and tope'd Mark as he tried to enter. Mark exploders him and uppercuts him on the apron. Kyle superkicks him on the apron then Kyle is back body dropped on the apron. Mark blockbusters Kyle onto the apron.

Mark then 2nd rope crossbodies him outside. They go back in. Mark jumps off the top and runs into double boots. Kyle running facekicks him in the corner. Kyle brainbusters him on the top rope and wins.

Thoughts: This was complete garbage with people kicking out of burning hammers and taking moves on rails and the apron yet nobody really affected by it. It was your typical brainless Kyle Fletcher match was beyond indy.

ROH Title - Title vs Mask - Chris Jericho (c) vs Bandido

CJ rolls him up for 2 then hits mounted punches. CJ double throat thrusts him then asai moonsaults him. Band handsprings off the ropes and does a flip. he then gets facekicked. Band does a weird flip into a headstand. Band topes CJ outside then tope con hilos him.

Band superkicks him. Bryan Keith hobbles down and argueswith the ref. Gravity grabs BK and fights with him. CJ grabs a baseball bat. He hits Band in the shoulder with it in a funny spot. CJ then wins or does he?

Aubrey goes up to Band's family. They point towards the bat Jericho had. Aubrey talks to the ref and the match continues. Bandido's sister flops her chest around and slaps CJ. Band knees CJ in the face and hits a 21 plex. Band then pins him.

Thoughts: I didn't like it. The powerbomb on the apron from the floor should have ended things yet it went on another 15 minutes. The bat shot also looked horrible, but thankfully, it didn't end up being the finish. I also didn't like Band's sister being able to slap CJ in front of 2 refs without either caring. The two wrestlers did work okay together otherwise though and I really liked the tornillo into the codebreaker spot. I expected Bandido to win here because his gimmick would be dead otherwise and it's clear they like him so he wasn't going to lose. I do wonder if this means they have given up on ROH on TV because CJ being champ was supposed to be part of the selling point.

AEW TNT Title - No time limit or interference - Daniel Garcia (c) vs Adam Cole

DG hits 3 twists and shouts. Cole hits an ushigoroshi. Cole tries a sunset flip off the panama sunrise. Cole cradles him for 2 and DG lariats him. DG hits a gotch style spinning piledriver. DG and Cole trade forearms.

Cole facekicks him. They forearm and facekick each other at the same time. DG backdrops him then Cole pumpkicks him. DG hits chops. Cole superkicks him.  DG catches Cole's kick and ankle locks him. Cole ropebreaks. Cole is sent into the steps knee first. They fight on the steps and Cole hits overkill on his knee while standing on the steps, which is a dumb spot. Cole then hits a panama sunrise off the steps onto the floor.

Cole's leg gives out. DG hits his own panama sunrise. DG hits Cole's boom knee on him for 2. They fight on the buckles. Cole then hits a panama sunrise from the 2nd buckle. Cole hits another panama sunrise from the 2nd buckle. Cole then hits a boom knee and wins.

Thoughts: I hated it. They didn't sell then panama sunrise much at all when it should have sent someone to the hospital. Cole also sold the ankle big early on then they just had the usual match and ignored it. Thankfully it didn't go on as long as expected. The concept of a no interference match is also stupid since every match is a no interference match.

They shake hands after.

AEW International Title - Kenny Omega (c) vs Ricochet vs Mike Bailey

Kenny won with an OWA off the 2nd rope on Ric. I didn't think it was their best effort possible. There weren't any spots that were too wild or original here which is surprisingly with how much those three focus on that stuff. It had the usual three way limitations and never really became the spotfest you would expect. This one also really went a lot longer than it needed to at over 30 minutes.. I wasn't surprised to see Kenny win as they teased Okada/Kenny but Mike winning would have really been the best option so he could get over.

Kazuchika Okada comes out. I don't know why he wasn't on this PPV. He stares down Kenny and Kenny leaves.

AEW Title - Jon Moxley (c) vs Swerve Strickland

It was a longer, slower, brawl. Mox controlled things for the first half and played around with Swerve's blood. Swerve slowly and eventually got back in it. Shafir came in, hit Nana with a briefcase then took a cutter from Mox by mistake. Swerve hit an M.Bison stomp through a table on Mox when both were on the ladder.

Mox threw a chair at Swerve but missed and hit the ref. Swerve then vertebreakered Mox. Adam Page came down then The Death Riders came down and beat up Page. Page cleared them off then hit a deadeye on Mox. The Ops then came down and joined the fight for some reason. Swerve hit a top rope double stomp and the lights went out. The Young Bucks then appeared, for unknown reasons and hit an EVP trigger on Swerve. Mox then won.

It was a long match. I just thought it was average and the interference didn't really add anything here. I didn't really understand the motivations of The Bucks, The Ops or Page here. I wasn't surprised to see Mox win here as the plan seems to be for Darby to beat him and Darby is still gone.

Overall thoughts: It was the usual extremely long AEW PPV that ran until after midnight.  I didn't like it. The main went too long, had some odd run-ins and was just average. The three-way wasn't really the spot fest you would expect and it went over 30 minutes for some reason. Cole/Garcia was bad indy wrestling. Bandido/CJ had a wide variety of issues though they did work well together. Fletcher/Briscoe was absolutely awful and as indy as it gets. Bayne almost got decapitated in her match and her losing to Toni doesn't help her out. The trios title match was fine. Mone/Hart wasn't good. The opener and the tag title match were alright. I'd give it a 4 out of 10 total. The show went way too long and it was just a filler PPV for the most part without any major changes.
