Thoughts:
It was short and not much of note here. They didn't get much time or go all out and it was rather skippable.

Hart corner splashes, lariats and sentons ELP for 2. ELP avoids a double team then superkicks Zack. ELP sunset flips Hart and pins him.

Thoughts: I didn't like Jado no selling then dropping Zack here. Jado's just been pushed too much like a jobber for that stuff and Zack's the champ. Hart went down here too easy. This was also a short match.

Shota Umino & Tomoaki Honma vs. House Of Torture (Ren Narita & Yoshinobu Kanemaru)

This is Honma's first appearance on this tour. Taka's also been missing.

Thoughts:
It was short and brief here. We got a little of KT vs Shingo then Nagai ended up losing as expected. Atleast they kept this moving, but it was just a forgettable undercard match.

G1 Climax 2025 Block A Match - SANADA vs. Oleg Boltin

San comes out in a Giant Gonzalez type of bodysuit with a thong. He hits Oleg doing his pose in the ring and rakes his eyes on the ropes. San hits running facekicks on Oleg then Oleg shoulders him over.

Thoughts: The finishing stretch wasn't bad but they didn't get a ton of time. Sanada's heel character limits how good the matches are going to be and Oleg is still a work in progress. I thought this was just average. I don't love Sanada losing to Oleg but at this point, the IWGP champion version of Sanada might as well have been in a prior life since he's so far gone past that.

Yuya dropkicks him.

CN hits a german then Yuya enzugiri's him. Yuya release germans him then CN flying knees him. Yuya hits his front suplex and wins.

Thoughts
: It was alright. It was fast and very slow at times. CN's run up the buckles double stomp outside was nice and something we hadn't seen before. I was hoping this would get more than it got as they were doing okay but it didn't. Yuya did work the arm here some and follow up on it at the end.

Thoughts: It was your usual Evil match with endless shenanigans. It wasn't any good and the ref and Tai deserved what they got here for not being able to predict or do anything about House of Torture abusing them for the millionth time.

Tai is then beat up more after.

G1 Climax 2025 Block A Match - Yota Tsuji vs. Ryohei Oiwa

Oiwa doctor bombs him for 2.

Oiwa hits a chaos theory german for 2. Yota does a neat pin attempt from the vertebreaker position and wins.

Thoughts: It was a bit rushed and they didn't quite get enough time. The selling was also questionable at times. They did keep this moving though and what we got was entertaining with a lot of action. Yota won as expected here but it was a good showing for Oiwa here who looked on his level.

G1 Climax 2025 Block A Match - Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. David Finlay

Tanna hammerlocks him and DF reverses it. Tana trips him and waistlocks him. DF then escapes and poses on the ropes. Tana side headlocks him, DF pulls the hair and reverses it. Tana side headlock takeovers him and DF headscissors him. They then both get up and complain about hair pulls.

Thoughts:
I thought it was a good match. I'm not a fan of DF throwing people around like he's Brock Lesnar but atleast Tana was selling it unlike a lot of the other roster members. Tana sold all throughout here and really made this one into something when it could have been bad if they had a lazy night. Tanahashi may not be what he used to be, but you can sell at any age and he sold well here.

Tana talks on the mic after and doesn't say much of note. He then plays air guitar and talks a little more after.

Overall thoughts: The undercard had nothing of interest as usual. 3 of the 5 G1 matches could have used more time. Sanada/Oleg was average. Yuya/Newman was alright and Newman hit a cool run up the buckles double stomp on Yuya's back outside. Taichi/Evil was the usual Evil garbage. I liked what we got of Yota/Oiwa but it needed more time and they should have been allowed to go all out. Tana/DF was surprisingly pretty good with DF throwing Tana around and Tana being happy to sell for it. I'd give this a 6 out of 10 as it was slightly above average overall.
