WWE LFG 5/18/2025 Episode 15

This is the season finale.

Shawn Michaels meets the last 4 wrestlers and the coaches. Taker says the nervous wrestlers will have to take their negative energy and turn it into positive energy. Bubba says only 1 man and 1 woman moves on and that's the one who steals the show.

We see Tyra Mae Steel in a recovery sauna. She likes to stretch there. She debates over which gear to bring. She said she won at the Olympics but nobody was there due to covid. She says she's here to win the contract.

Zena says she has never been to NYC before. She says her knee is swelling and she has a contusion and a sprain. She says she will have a brace for her match. She says her mom makes her gear as she's a fashion designer. We see her talking to her mom in her language.

She made a 5 year vision board when she joined WWE and had MSG as one of the goals. This is not actually MSG, just the theater next to it.

Jasper Troy packs up with his wife. He says the idea for his pants came from Braun, the pants style is Kevin Nash and his jacket came from Bray Wyatt. They talk about his kid. 

 
We see Shiloh Hill talk to some AI thing and gave it a mannequin's body named, "The Beast". This thing moves and talks to him and used to be a car. Hill talks about his Dad and says he's looking down and watching him.

Thoughts: The Beast is the greatest thing I've ever seen. I don't know if we are ready for The Beast, but he's here.

We see Zena Sterling do an interview with Bubba Ray Dudley.

Jasper Troy and Shiloh Hill talk to the camera's going to the bus to MSG. We see the wrestlers arrive at MSG. Zena has the shivers.

We see Shiloh's mom. She says he's a rough and tumble kid and she's proud of him. Her name is "Beth Keck".

We see Tyra and Zena talk at MSG. Tyra tells Zena that Zena's leg is hers. Zena tells her just to wait for the ring and walks away. Zena says the story of the match is Tyra attacking her bad knee. She says rehearsals were tough and her putting various holds on her made her have tears.

Zena says she hit Tyra in the mouth during practice. Tyra says it hurts and says that p!ssed her off. We then see Tyra with a busted lip. 

We see Zena gets her knee taped up. She says it looks like she has a space ship growing out of her knee.

We see Jasper and Shiloh practicing their match with Taker tellingthem what to do. We see Jeff Hardy in the background since was taped before the NXT he was on.

Zena tries southern accents with Bubba. Tyra is nervous and Taker says to let it go.   

We see the LFG coaches come to the ring. Taker gets no reaction for his music until he comes out, probably because everyone only knows the gong theme.

WWE LFG Women's Finals - Zena Sterling vs Tyra Mae Steel

Bubba tells Zena to go be Zena. Taker tells Tyra it's time to at.

They lock up and Tyra double leg takedowns her. Tyra does a fireman's carry and Zena boots her away. Zena wristlocks her and yanks on her arm. Zena armlocks her. Zena backrolls her for 2. Zena rolls her up for 2.

We see the judges in the back and see Cutler James watching. Zena slams Tyra. Zena hits a back splash and snapmares her. Zena turns a snapmare into a pin attempt. Zena wristlocks her.

Zena goes up and over and holds her knee. We go to break and return. Tyra kicks her in the injured knee then does elbow drops on it. Tyra wraps her leg around the ropes and pulls. Tyra the knee drops the back of the leg while it's on the ropes. Tyra does a toe hold. Zena pushes her out of the ring with her foot.

Tyra pulls Zena out then bangs her leg off the apron. Tyra half crabs her. Zena monkey fips her. Zena rolls her up for 2 then hits forearms to the chest. Zena lariats her. Zena backdrops her then hits a reverse ddt for 2. Tyra trips her and ankle locks her.

Zena rolls her up for 2 then hits her in the gut. Tyra like lariats her leg then does a stiff STF variation. Zena then taps out.

Thoughts: This was taped before LFG even aired and it's doubtful anyone here knew who these girls were. They tried and had a story based around Tyra working Zena's leg. It was fine but not great or anything and the crowd didn't help. This being longer also didn't help.

The girls talk after. Zena didn't expect to be in MSG for 5 years. Tyra says she's just getting started and she's a volcano ready to erupt.

Shiloh does curls with a guard rail in the back.

WWE Men's LFG Finals - Shiloh Hill vs Jasper Troy

They lock up. Hill's in better shape than usual Troy slams him then misses an elbow drop. Troy forearms him from behind then Hill side headlocks him. Hill lariats him over the top and goes with him.

We go to break and return. Troy's back is rammed into the apron and post. Troy bodyblocks Hill in the ring. Troy splashes the back. Troy hits a powerslam for 2. Troy clubs on the back and chinlocks him. Hill tries to slam him but Troy falls on him. Hill backdrops him. Hill shoulders him into the corner and hits shots to the gut. Hill slams him for 2.

Hill gets a bulldog for 2. Troy hits a nice black hole slam and wins.

Thoughts: Similar to the first match, it went on too long with a crowd who wasn't familiar with them and it wasn't that good. The work wasn't bad but there was just only so much they could do here. 

The boys are excited in the back. Troy says it felt like he belonged out there. He says he was in control of the match and the audience. He says his next time here, the fans will scream "bend the knee". He says this competition is all he ever wanted but he has already won. Hill says it was a special day. Taker says he's proud of them. Taker says Jasper is a monster but Hill showed grit and determination.

Shawn Michaels and the coaches talk after. Shawn says he has a tough decision to make. Mickie says Zena is the hardest working woman. Taker says Zena has a different personality. Bubba says she went from zero to hero and will be somebody. Booker said she shined and worked injured, which impressed him.

They say Tyra has a built in character ready to go. Bubba says she needs to work on her personality but she is an olympic gold medalist. He says it brings a different credibility to their industry. Booker says he hasn't seen a lot of growth in her, though she has all the tools.

Mickie says Shiloh Hill has a great range. Taker says Hill has layers and makes you think outside of the box. Bubba says Bill is the raw piece of clay and says he has genius in him. Booker says Hill did a good job but needs to work on his spacing and says he rushes.

Mickie says Jasper won her over. Taker says Jasper is a big dude who can move and says he can match up to Oba Femi. Bubba says Jasper is one negative incident away from crumbling. He says he needs to mature and is a loose cannon who wears the boo-boo face. Booker says Jasper works well with everyone. Shawn thanks everyone for the feedback.

Shawn Michaels addresses the wrestlers with the coaches in the room. Shawn shows the WWE LFG Title which goes to Team Undertaker. Taker says it's a special moment and says he doesn't even have a wrestling school, taking a shot at the other 3. Booker says he was upset as he felt his team put in the work. Taker says he wants to see the kids grow and says there was a lot of trash talked about his coaching ability. He says when the coaches need coaching, they know where to come.

Shawn tells the girls what was said about them. He gives Tyra the NXT contract as he has to do what's best for NXT TV. Shawn says everyone is a fan of her and says everyone sees a WWE superstar in her. Bubba is mad saying she worked at half her ability and still was able to perform. Zena said she was disappointed but she can't live in that.

Shawn brings up Jasper not dealing with things he didn't like well. He says that's a problem for business. He says Shiloh has layers and says that lets them do more with people like that. He says when it comes to being ready to go right now, it's Jasper. He picks Jasper to win.

Shawn tells Shiloh it's a long way from being over. Hill says he was planning on winning this and needs to go back to the drawing board.

We are told Hill and Zena will be on Season 2 of WWE LFG and Jasper and Tyra's journey's are beginning in NXT.

Thoughts: Everyone except Zena has been on Level Up and all four are signed. As we've seen, some people who got kicked off the show like Cutler James are already on NXT regularly and Troy Yearwood, who also got kicked off, is now on Evolve. Jasper and Tyra won here but this show is a worked-work and it's hard to know what winning this show really means. As a viewer, we only saw and heard what they wanted us to so we don't have the best information possible. I probably would have picked either Jasper or Drake for the men and probably Penina or Bayleigh for the girls. Getting on TV too early can hurt you more than it can help you and I'm not sure if Tyra is fully ready to be what they want her to be yet (the female Kurt Angle or Chad Gable). Jasper will be fine because of his size.

Overall thoughts: Tonight's ep only had two matches with some with some documentary style coverage before each match and the coaches rating the wrestlers ever. The two matches weren't that good as they long, cold matches in front of a crowd who didn't know them, since this happened before the show aired. I thought the show was kind of boring at times as they had a lot of time to fill and not that much content for it.

As for the show as a whole, I wasn't a huge fan. I suppose it was a nice little intro to some of the prospects and it was nice to see some of their growth along the way. I was hoping the show would have more wrestling though and would be closer to NXT Level Up than Tough Enough. I didn't care for the worked drama they came up with. The show also didn't need to be 90 minutes. I would not watch this series again but I guess what we got is better than nothing. We will see what Season 2 has in store for us and I expect that to air in the fall.
