WOW TV Disk 9 Part 1

WOW TV Disk 9

David McLane and Lee Marshall on commentary

We open up with fallout from the WOW Unleashed PPV
Ice Cold threw a chair in the back after being shaved and Riot attacked:
"Now, who's on the highway to hell?" - Riot
"Danger, you messed with the wrong girl. Terri Gold, I'm coming for you next." - Riot
Today's lineup:

"I'm Lana Star, and this is my prized possession, Ice Cold's hair."
Randi Rah-Rah returns to get revenge on Lana Star for injuring her
The match then began:
 Randi Rah-Rah vs Lana Star
Lana takes off Randi's eyepatch
Patti Pizzazz comes out
Randi wins
Randi Rah-Rah won here after Lana was distracted by Patti and she rolled her up. This was good, seriously. Good highflying by Randi and she was aggressive in getting her revenge on Lana Star. I don't even think I liked Randi before, but I was definitely into this. Rating:**
Lana and Patti argued after
Jungle Girl's jump at WOW Unleashed

"Jane Blond...Double-O Heaven and a license to thrill." - Lee Marshall
They talked about WOW's next PPV called Spring Vengeance during this. However, the PPV never came to be.
Jungle Grrrl won here after a bunch of moves including a superplex and a Superfly splash. This was great. Really, it was. This is probably the most exciting non-japanese and non-mexican women's match I've seen in a long time. Jungle Grrrl was really great here. Rating:**3/4
"David McLane, how many more of your girls do I have to put down to get that belt? You're looking at the number one contender, that's right."
"One by one, they will fall, they will lose."

Ice Cold throws a soda after losing her hair
"Lana Star, you did this to me and now you're gonna pay for it." - Ice Cold
"You are looking at a new Roxy Powers with a new attitude."
"Slam Dunk is nothing but a punk. Yeah she talks the talk, but as I said before, she still can't walk the walk."

"Slam Dunk dominates, the court, the ring and you better hope I don't take your job you verticall-challenged, tight-wad..."
"...FOOL."
"You claim that you didn't want to be in the WNBA, but we all know the truth. They didn't want you."
"This isn't any game, you don't need to be in the ring...OHHH." - McLane to Slam Dunk
Dunk then chokeslams Roxy and the ref
Dunk grabs the ref's belt

Roxy then challenged Slam Dunk to a strap match next week.

"I am the #1 contender for the championship belt. I cannot be beaten."
"'cuz nothin' can stop THE RIOT."

Riot vs Sandy
"Not on the floor, not on the floor. Don't do it on the floor." - Lee Marshall

Riot won here with the powerbomb in this match which was mostly a squash. It was a good one. Riot's awesome and the crowd really liked her. Rating:*1/2
"I didn't want to count for Thug, but I had to." - Gold
"Your heart must have been torn." - McLane
"Selina trains me all the time and I think she's an awesome wrestler. I didn't want to turn on her." - Terri
"Well, you didn't turn on her. You had to do the right thing." - McLane
"Exactly, I had to count." - Terri
Caged Heat with their police officer who prevents them from escaping
Mystery and Misery with The Goon, The Daughters of Darkness
"It's a hard life, we doin' hard time. We take the wrong way, we take the hard line" - Caged Heat's song
WOW Tag Team Champions - Caged Heat - Delta Lotta Pain and Loca vs the Daughters of Darkness
The Drive-By~!

Capital Punishment
They did the Dudley's what's up dive.
Caged Heat won this one rather easy with Capital Punishment. This was probably my least favorite match on the show as it was all squash

Overall thoughts: Good show overall. The first two matches were good and I got into the storylines. I recommend it.

Ring of Honor TV 9/1/2012 Review

Ring of Honor TV 9/1/2012 Review

ROH Tag Title Tournament: The Bravado Brothers - Harlem Bravado and Lancealot Bravado vs Steve Corino and Jimmy Jacobs

Corino and Jacobs announced that if they lose any match in the tag tournament, they will leave ROH. I really can't get past the Bravado brother's names. They absolutely need to change those as soon as possible, especially Lancealot. Just go by Lance, please. Kind of hard to take two guys with goofy names and Brady Bunch style haircuts seriously. Corino got the win here after an okay match and then got attacked by the Guardians of Truth right after. Kevin Steen came in and cleared house then Rhino came out and gored him.

Inside ROH

Adam Cole cut a boring promo and said that Elgin was "going to have to kill him" to get the win. Not good at all. Rhino said to Kevin Steen that, "you will curse your own mother for giving birth to you" when they have their match. The Briscoe's cut a promo calling BLKOUT not the wildcards but the "Queens of Spades." This was taped the same time as last week's promo because they wore the same clothes.

Jay Lethal vs Matt Taven

Add Taven to the list of guys who could use a name change. Lethal said he appealed to Cornette for a title shot at Kevin Steen. Cornette apparently said, "I know that you are a better wrestler than Kevin Steen. I know that you are tougher than Kevin Steen, but I don't think you can beat Kevin Steen". Lethal immediately kicked Taven in the crotch and then hit the ref with an STO. He then said, "How's that for killer instinct?"

The Guardians of Truth vs Charlie Haas and Rhett Titus

Truth teased taking off his crew's masks. He took them off and underneath there were more masks. Titus and Haas were the faces here and did most of the selling. The Truth's hit a curbstomp/top rope elbow combo. I wasn't super into this and the crowd really wasn't either. The Guardians did masked confusion here but eventually got rolled up by Titus after a failed top rope move. Corino and Jacobs attacked the Guardian's after this.

Overall thoughts: I wasn't too interested in this one. Last week's show was so good that this was almost guranteed to be disappointing. Skip it.

Next week: Adam Cole vs Michael Elgin and Briscoes vs BLKOUT

WWE Saturday Morning Slam 9/1/2012

WWE Saturday Morning Slam 9/1/2012

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2012/09/wwe-saturday-morning-slam-912012-review.html

They did a segment on WWE's top 5 favorite catchphrases:
5. If you smell what the Rock is coookin'
4. To be the man, you gotta beat the man
3. Awesome (The Miz's) - Yeah, I don't think so.
2. You can't see me
1. And that's the bottom line, 'cause Stone Cold said so

They then did a feature on signatures.
Kofi talked about signing a stinky, dirty shoe as the worst thing he ever signed.

If the target audience is under 7, how are they going to know this?

Curt Hawkins vs Brodus Clay

"Don't forget to eat your oatmeal kids. It's a great way to start the day." - Santino
"Alot of people think snakes evolved from Dinosaurs, so you probably have some things in common with Brodus Clay." - Josh to Santino
"Absolutely. We are repitilian family members." - Santino
Curt and Brodus did some dancing

"He made him fly like a slingshot. I used to have a slingshot when I was a kid, so you shouldn't play with them so much. Very dangerous." - Santino
"Curt has to figure out something because he can't beat him wrestling and he can't beat him dancing." - Santino

"He flipped him like a pancake for breakfast." - Santino
"Are you hungry?" - Josh
"I just finished my breakfast. It was a great meal and the most important meal of the day." - Santino

Brodus Clay won with an exploder suplex and a splash. Lots of dancing here. I guess this wasn't too bad, but it was very light on wrestling.

Santino came to dance after:
"If you guessed B, you passed the pop quiz." - Riley

Saturday Morning Spotlight on Rey Mysterio
Rey demonstrated how to do the 619. Surprising since you wouldn't want kids to do this at home. Rey did say "don't try this at home", but I'm willing to bet there were a bunch of kids who did.

Overall thoughts: This was better than last week's show but still very skippable. I don't recommend it at all, but atleast it was tolerable.
