NWA Powerrr 12/24/2024

NWA Powerrr 12/24/2024

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2024/12/nwa-powerrr-12172024.html

We see clips of Tiffany Nieves and Kenzie Paige doing interviews on each other.

Joe Galli and Danny Dealz are on commentary and we still have the christmas + halloween theme. They run down the show.

NWA Women's Title - Kenzie Paige (c) vs Tiffany Nieves

They lock-up. KP drags her over off of it but they keep the lock-up on. Tiff shoves her and side headlocks her. KP pulls her down by the hair and is thrown down backwards. They trade forearms. KP boots her. Tiff rolls her into a half crab. They double facebuster each other and trade chest chops.

KP flying headscissors her. Tiff diving lariats her off the 2nd rope. Tiff blocks a flying headscissors and spinning side slams her for 2. Tiff stomps on KP's leg. We go to break and return. Tiff chinlocks her then pulls her down backwards by the hair. KP cradles her and gets slapped. They trade slaps. Tiff spinebusters her for 2.

Tiff texas cloverleafs her and KP ropebreaks. Tiff sends KP into the post. KP pulls a chair out from under the ring. She grabs someone who they say helps out in the back and hits shots on her. She then chokes her on the apron. Natalya Markova comes out to stop Tiff. The person who Tiff attacked slaps her. KP then half-misses a superkick on Markova.

KP goes for a backslide, Tiff goes for a soul foot and KP cutters her to win.

Thoughts: It wasn't good. Tiff was going for the texas cloverleaf, then Tiff went out and fought with the person who helps out backstage. Markova came out, they got back in and the match ended not too long after. I don't know what the idea was but it didn't work.

The Heavenly Butterflies (Faboo Andre and Tony Donati) come out. Kyle Davis says he didn't see their names on the card. Andre says they went through hell last night in a 40-minute match and kicked @ss. He says they are in pain today. Tony says they are going to talk in the ring all night unless they can send out 2 people who are man enough to stop them. Beastman and Stone Rockwell come out and Kyle says the challenge has been answered. Stone says he's wrestling's first action-adventure leading man. He says lets catch us a beautiful butterfly

The Temple of Duum (Beastman and Stone Rockwell) vs The Heavenly Butterflies (Faboo Andre and Tony Donati)

Beast hits a double lariat. Stone hits shots on Tony. Tony chops Stone then Stone chops Tony down. Tony boots him out of the corner then is tripped off the 2nd rope into a backbreaker. Beast low crossbodies Tony. Andre top rope dives on Beast but is just swatted away.

Beast hiptosses Tony in. Beast splashes both opponents in the corner. Stone gets on Beast's back and is back rammed into them. Beast cannonballs both opponents. Stone gets on Beast's back. They fall down together on Faboo and pin him.

Thoughts: This is one of the things I hate about the NWA. The Butterflies haven't been around since July. They came back for unknown reasons and lost a random match to two completely new wrestlers. Maybe this will be followed up on in the weeks to come but this is the NWA, and we probably don't see these people again until March, where will be expected to care again.

We see clips of Thom Latimer and EC3 doing promos on each other. Thom says he has proven he's the man to beat and will continue to be that man. He says the road ends for EC3.

NWA Junior Title - No Limits Match - Alex Taylor (c) vs Jack Cartwheel

Alex hasn't even mentioned Jack since 11/5. Jack won this title shot on 10/15. I don't know what a no limits match is.

Alex kicks him on the handshake then sends him into the corners. Jack goes up and over. Jack hits armdrags and armlocks him. Jack tries some pins. Alex is pushed over the top. Alex gets back in and back elbows him. Alex is thrown out. He trips Jack and they fight outside.

Jack is sent into the steps but he cartwheels off of them. Jack jumps onto Alex off the steps but is caught and sent into the steps. Alex hits him in the back. We go to break and return. Alex double underhook suplexes him for 2. Alex hits mounted punches.

Alex hits corner spears. Alex tilt-a-whirl backbreakers Jack for 2. Alex puts a chair between the ropes. Jack rolling death valley drivers him. They trade forearms. Jack flips out of a lariat and hits a neckbreaker. Jack hits some dropkicks. Jack handspring cartwheel back elbows him then suplexes him. Jack kips up.

Jack running ssp's him for 2. Jack cartwheels off the ropes then armbars Alex. Alex buckle bombs him and hits oblivion for 2. Alex chokes him with the tag rope and hangs him. Alex slaps him as he hangs. Jack kicks a chair into Alex's face. Jack flying space tiger drops him. Jack top rope ssp's Alex for 2.

Jack flips out of a german. Jack charges at Alex and goes into the chair between the buckles. Alex hits a cradle shock and wins.

Thoughts: I wasn't that into this one. I didn't really get why this had no rules to it. I had a hard time buying that Jack would win since there wasn't much build to it. Jack did his usual cartwheels and flying moves but didn't bring much else to this one. I just thought it was an average match.

Overall thoughts: It was the usual frustrating edition of NWA Powerr. People debuted and returned for no real reason. We finally got payoffs to things that happened well over 2 months ago and hadn't been mentioned since. None of the matches were that great and the women's match was just stupid. I'd give this one a 3 out of 10 and really wouldn't recommend it.
